Patch 8.2 of World of Warcraft is live, you need to know this

The latest patch of World of Warcraft is finally live. We reveal to you what you need to know for Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara.

With the end of today’s maintenance work, the latest update of World of Warcraft has finally gone live. Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara is finally here and expands Battle for Azeroth with many new contents and long-awaited features. We give you a brief overview of what you need to pay attention to today and what content awaits you.

Two new areas: The highlight of Patch 8.2 are the two new areas Mechagon and Nazjatar. While the story in Nazjatar is primarily about Patch 8.2, which begins the fight against the Naga and Queen Azshara, Mechagon is more of a “playground.” Here you can find numerous rare enemies, a lot of grinding work, and plenty of rewards in the form of pets, mounts, and toys.

Flying as a new feature: It is now also possible to unlock flying in Zandalar and Kul Tiras. However, you must demonstrate a corresponding reputation with the new factions and have already achieved the preceding achievement. Unlocking flying should take about two to three weeks. After that, world quests and other content should go significantly faster.

Better Heart of Azeroth: The Heart of Azeroth also becomes more exciting, as it now grants the player new powers. Thus, characters can now unlock “Essences” that are inserted into the Heart of Azeroth. This unlocks new active abilities or passive bonuses. The essences can be obtained in various ways – through raids, PvP, quests, or farming reputation. So, if you want a specific essence, you must target a particular game content. This is a good step for character customization.

Raids and dungeons will come later: Please note that some content is not directly available yet. Especially the new raid “Eternal Palace” and the mega dungeon “Mechagon” will be unlocked only in the coming weeks. We have a detailed schedule for you here.
