Even before the actual season of 7 vs. Wild airs, a dispute is raging between two candidates. Joe Vogel and Stefan Hinkelmann are arguing about a party and accusations that are supposed to portray Hinkelmann in a negative light.
What is the argument about? While the airing of 7 vs. Wild is still a while away, two participants are already bringing action. Stefan Hinkelmann from the YouTube channel Survival-Deutschland reportedly did not receive an invitation to the official premiere of the new season. According to his own statement in a YouTube video, he only found out through viewers.
According to Hinkelmann, about 150 people were invited, but he, as a participant of the season, was not. In response to his disappointed comments on Twitch, Joe Vogel replied in several Reddit posts.
In those posts, Joe Vogel accused survival expert Stefan Hinkelmann of probably being invited and that the missing tag in an Instagram post with all the participants of the premiere was purely accidental. However, Stefan Hinkelmann does not believe it was an accident and is now commenting on the situation in a video on YouTube.
One of the participants in the new season of 7 vs. Wild is LetsHugo; you can learn more about him here:
“I am completely appalled”
How does Stefan Hinkelmann react to the accusations from Joe Vogel? The survival expert approaches the video most of the time in a factual manner. Without much emotion, he outlines in 20 minutes what he believes to be lies. In response to Joe Vogel’s claim that Stefan Hinkelmann should have just asked and the invitation via Instagram tag was overlooked, the survival expert takes a clear stance.
According to him, it is almost unthinkable that a “7 vs. Wild” party with over 150 guests, catering, and guests flown in from abroad, as well as various figures from the German-speaking YouTube survival scene, could be planned and that participants are invited via Instagram tagging. He believes the invitation was intentionally not communicated.
Also, the fact that participant Joey Kelly, at whose party it took place, could not have reached Stefan Hinkelmann seems unbelievable to him. YouTuber Stefan Hinkelmann demonstrates in his video that Joey Kelly follows him on Instagram and reports that he regularly watches his Instagram stories.
Stefan Hinkelmann responds in his 20-minute video to many of the claims that Joe Vogel previously made on Reddit. Among them are the points claiming that no one wants to associate with Stefan Hinkelmann. Hinkelmann says: “I am completely appalled by this nonsense that I am reading here.”

Why would Joe Vogel spread falsehoods? For Hinkelmann, it seems as though Joe Vogel wants to portray him in a negative light. In particular, the comments where Joe Vogel suggests waiting for the airing and that they only want to protect Stefan Hinkelmann are highly displeasing to the participant.
In the video, he also mentions that Joe Vogel’s statements are aimed at depicting him as a “troublemaker,” “the intrusive one,” and someone who tries to “squeeze himself in” everywhere. He clearly states: “This is the narrative that is being created here, and I find that a bit difficult.”
Also, the claim that Stefan Hinkelmann was blocked by Joe Vogel due to “phone harassment” is refuted by Hinkelmann through chat conversations in the video. He shows that the two hadn’t communicated for years in the past, and Hinkelmann only shared his number with Joe Vogel in May of this year. The last contact was a missed call from Joe Vogel.
Stefan Hinkelmann states: “So you see that this is absolute nonsense that is being told, and completely deliberate misinformation is being spread to put me in a particular light […]”
For viewers, the situation of statement against statement is perfect after this video. Both sides contradict each other, but Stefan Hinkelmann can substantiate part of his statements, while Joe Vogel has thus far only made claims.
It also remains questionable why Stefan Hinkelmann did not receive an invitation to the premiere and why this invitation was issued by Joey Kelly and not by the production behind 7 vs. Wild. For many viewers, 7 vs. Wild is slowly becoming like a jungle camp, as there are definitely already conflicts among the participants: The new season of 7 vs. Wild is ultimately turning the series into a jungle camp
