Paragon is getting an Asian addition. What is of course missing? Right: An unrealistically oversized, completely exaggerated and unwieldy giant sword that wants to electrify you.
Raiden meets Noctis
If there’s one thing you can credit Paragon developer Epic Games for, it’s that they keep to their own schedule. True to the hashtag #Every3Weeks, a new melee fighter will join the roster of heroes starting this coming Tuesday, October 4.
The good one is named “Kwang” and could easily be seen as a mix of Final Fantasy XV’s “Noctis” and Mortal Kombat’s “Raiden.” Or Smite’s Susanoo. Or Raijin. Or one of the almost countless other thunder gods from Japanese mythology.
Kwang and his sword will try to electrify you in combat and give you more than just a small shock. However, the melee fighter should not only be approached with caution at close range, as he is capable of throwing his sword in your direction, thus bringing the fight to you faster than you might like.
Upon landing in the ground, it deals damage in a certain radius and pulls in enemies. However, if it is still coming towards you, it might be that in the next second, not just the silver behemoth but also the whole guy stands before you, as he can teleport to his sharp companion with his ultimate ability to directly attack with a sword whirl afterwards.
In addition to these tricks, he has the ability “Light of the Heavens” which provides both area damage and physical and energy armor, and via passive, Kwang and allies in the area also gain life steal. An almost all-rounder Asian, recommended by Epic Games for initiating team fights.
“Destroy the Core” Reloaded
There are still a few days until Kwang’s official release. To shorten the wait for him a bit, you can still participate in the event “Destroy the Core” until Monday, 3 PM, which was once a community task.
The goal is to reach 1.8 million destroyed cores, which translates to 360,000 completed games. This counts both regularly won and (given up by the generic team) matches. Players who contribute to the event can win up to 30,000 reputation.
If you don’t know what to do with the extra time over the extended weekend, a look into Paragon might be something for you. Or are you part of the predominantly upset player base that no longer understands the world after the last patch? If you missed that, you can read here again what happened.
