The MOBA Paragon is getting a huge update in August, where the game will be massively rebuilt. Especially the card system and some heroes will work completely differently soon.
Paragon is a game that is constantly evolving. And it is not about small patches and changes that every modern game receives regularly. Rather, Paragon was already completely revamped and readjusted in the Monolith Update.
In August, another major update called v42 will be released. Although there won’t be as extreme changes as there were in Monolith, there will still be a number of different adjustments.
Paragon – New Graphics, Changed Card System, Revised Heroes
The changes in update v42 affect some key aspects of the game and overall the innovations are more comprehensive than in the updates “Year One” and “Age of Intellect”. From August 8, 2017, the following changes will apply in Paragon:
- The Monolith map will be graphically revised and receive its final design
- The heroes Iggy & Scorch will be revised
- The card system will undergo a massive overhaul. You will no longer receive “Card Points”, but a fixed in-game currency with which you buy your cards and assemble the deck.
- The game economy will be balanced
- With the changes to the economy and the map, the gameplay will also be realigned
- A new mastery system is coming
- In addition to the new heroine Zinx, who will arrive in the upcoming update v.41.3 and brings “Mega Sustain in the Off-Lane”, another ranged–carry hero will be introduced in August
Update v42 is just the beginning, Epic Games plans to bring further major changes afterwards, such as improving accessibility and the user interface and revising even more heroes.
What do you think about the changes in Paragon? Do you find it good that the game is being revamped so often or would you prefer the MOBA to stay as it is now? Let us know in the comments!
