Which streamer is being talked about? Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller is one of the largest German streamers and currently so successful that he is even represented multiple times in the charts internationally:
- Papaplatte is in 10th place among Twitch streamers with the most paid subscriptions (via TwitchTracker, as of March 14, 2024)
- and is number 8 of the most-watched streamers worldwide in the last 3 days (via SullyGnome, as of March 14, 2024) – for the month of February he is in 10th place overall (via VentureBeat).
Papaplatte is not the only German content creator represented in this top 10: EliasN97 even pushes himself to 5th place among the most-watched streamers with his Valorant event and the German subscription king is currently Shlorox with his Subathon.
Nevertheless, it seems to be Papaplatte among the German streamers who can really compete internationally. Before him, it was MontanaBlack, who was personally invited by the great Trainwreck, received $100,000 for his agreement, and even made xQc envious with his gamescom appearance.

What makes Papaplatte so successful right now? The 27-year-old seems to be doing just about everything right at the moment. He always comes up with new special events, for which he brings in the support of his Twitch colleagues – according to Twitch CEO Tom Clancy, that is a recipe for success.
From the RV trip in February 2023, to a shared vacation in Madeira, to this year’s snow trip: Papaplatte likes to be on the go instead of just sitting in his streaming room. When colleagues like LetsHugo and Reeze are there too, with whom the streamer has good chemistry, entertainment is practically guaranteed.
With the funny clips that result from this, Papaplatte repeatedly attracts international attention: His moped accident in Madeira or his supposed dip in the ice lake landed in r/LivestreamFail, the largest streaming community on reddit – when something is big there, it’s often an indicator of what’s currently trending in the streaming scene.
Papaplatte seems to appear more frequently in the subreddit than his German colleagues like Trymacs and EliasN97, who have similar viewer counts. Recently there was a “typical Papaplatte moment” that drove Trymacs to the brink of fury (via Reddit).
In addition, Papaplatte is among the few German streamers who actually have interactions with international stars: The legendary “r/place” duel with xQc already secured the Berliner a place in the Twitch charts.
Shortly thereafter, Papaplatte was invited to the big influencer chess tournament PogChamps, where he once again faced off against his competitor xQc. The 27-year-old is literally playing internationally.
When Papaplatte learned about his top 10 placement in the subscription charts, he stated that he had been streaming for 10 years now but was currently having more fun than ever before. This seems to be contagious for the viewers, leading to the 27-year-old being showered with awards at the StreamAwards.
Things are currently going very well for Papaplatte in just about every way.
