The battle royale shooter Fortnite is getting a crossover with Borderlands 3 and brings a piece of Pandora into the Fortnite universe. Here you will find out what the cooperation looks like.
What is this crossover about? Crossovers are nothing new in Fortnite. From Marvel’s Avengers to all 32 NFL teams to John Wick, the battle royale game has already brought a lot into its universe. However, a new cooperation is currently causing excitement.
Recently, the official Twitter account of Fortnite posted an image that many see as unmistakably hinting at a crossover between Fortnite and the upcoming loot shooter Borderlands 3.
A graphic is visible, in which a Psycho mask from the Borderlands series has snuck into the lower left corner. Along with it were the words: “When you see it… #FortniteXMayhem”. Mayhem stands for madness and is often used in relation to Borderlands.
Now Epic Games itself has just introduced the crossover.
Fortnite X Mayhem – The Trailer:
What does the crossover entail? This is an event that runs from now (starting August 27) until September 10. It came with the latest patch to Fortnite.
On the Fortnite map, there is a Pandora rift zone in the typical Borderlands look, where you can now shoot to your heart’s content and tackle new challenges for free rewards. In addition, the Psycho pack is available for purchase in the shop.
Additionally, you can also unleash your creativity in creative mode and create your own Pandora with the new prefabs.

These are the rewards: Residents of Pandora have arrived in Fortnite. You can see this not only from the new rift zone but also from the rewards.
- The Psycho pack from the shop consists of a Psycho skin, a Claptrap backpack, and a pickaxe in the Borderlands style.
- The free “Welcome to Pandora” challenge pack includes rewards such as the “Mayhem” paint, the “Vault Hunter” banner, and the sprays “Psycho” and “Crazy Bunny”.

What do the fans say? So far, the announcement of the crossover has been met with mixed reactions. Some fans are excited and can hardly wait to dive into the action.
Others are annoyed. Especially Borderlands fans say that this crossover will not make them play Fortnite. They believe that Fortnite has nothing in common with Borderlands and hope that at least Borderlands 3 will not bring anything from Fortnite into the game.
Others are wondering about the latest crossover. Borderlands 3 is said to target an adult audience, while Fortnite is mostly played by teenagers and children under 18. Therefore, the target audiences are completely different. Some fans cannot understand the purpose of such a cooperation.
What do you think about the new crossover? Will you be playing this event?
