In Palworld, you can “fly” short distances with the glider. With a trick, you can even increase your flying speed.
Palworld offers a large map that you can explore, where you can find and catch various Pals. Longer walking distances are almost unavoidable, especially when you don’t have a flying Pal or the corresponding saddle yet.
Fortunately, you unlock the hang glider fairly early, which can protect you from fall damage and allows you to glide over at least shorter distances. A player has now shared a simple trick on Reddit to move faster with the glider.
How does the trick work? In Palworld, you can slide after a sprint by pressing the same button you use to crouch. On the keyboard, the default key for crouching is “C”, and on the controller, it is “B” (Xbox) or circle (PlayStation).
If you slide down a slope, for example when leaving a hill, you can slide further and faster. You can then combine this with a jump and immediately open the glider.
You carry the momentum from sliding into the glide, making you faster in the air. So, you first need to slide down a slope, then transition into a jump, and immediately open the glider.
Here you can see the trick in a short video clip on Reddit:
This is how you craft a glider: If you don’t have the glider in Palworld yet, you can unlock it at level 5 in the “Technologies” grid of the menu. The glider is called “Simple Glider” there.
Once you have unlocked the glider, you can then craft it at a workbench. To craft the glider, you need 10x wood and 2x fabric. You can also craft fabric at the workbench. For 1x fabric, you need 2x wool, which is dropped by defeated Lamball.
At a later point in the game, you can also craft improved versions of the glider, which allow you to glide even further. The first improved glider variant, the Mega Glider, is available at level 18. However, it requires significantly more wood and fabric, as well as bones, to craft.
Palworld offers many other useful items besides the glider, such as the food pouch, the grappling hook gun, or the incubator, with which you can hatch Pal eggs. You can find Pal eggs on the map or receive them at the breeding farm.
