Best Pals for Combat
Tip for Beginners: Loupmoon
Element: Shadow | Skills: Crafting | Partner Skill: Sparkling Claws in the Dark | Drop: Bones |
Loupmoon is a recommended Pal if you are still not very strong or do not want to face the big boss enemies yet. Loupmoon has a partner ability that allows it to execute powerful claw attacks against opponents.
You can only find Loupmoon at night in the game world, and it often travels in packs.
Tip for Beginners: Mammorest
Element: Grass | Skills: Plants, Lumberjack, Mining | Partner Skill: Mount | Drops: High-quality Pal Oil, Leather, Mammorest Meat |
You will encounter Mammorest very early in the game, as you find the Pal in the starting zone. However, you should not start the fight immediately, as the boss Pal Mammorest is significantly above level 30 and has several thousand hit points. Especially at low levels, Mammorest will easily overpower you. Mammorest is also an option if you want to find and collect leather.
Lovander
Element: Neutral | Skills: Crafting, Medicine, Transport, Mining | Partner Skill: Life Drain | Drops: Mushroom, Cake, Suspicious Juice, Strange Juice |
Lovander can be found later in the game, providing you with an excellent ability with its partner skill that can really help in tough battles. The “Life Drain” ability can absorb some of the damage inflicted on the player and thus restore their HP.
This makes Lovander a strong supporter. However, its dealt damage is not as high as that of other Pals on this list.
If you are lucky, Lovander will drop cake. Cake is an important ingredient for breeding Pals in Palworld.

Frostallion

Frostallion is considered the Pal with the best value distribution among all Pals. The Pal has the second-highest attack power and the third-highest hit points among all Pals. Only its defense values are slightly weaker. With these attributes, Frostallion is a warrior on the battlefield. Additionally, Frostallion is currently the best ice Pal you can obtain.
You can find Frostallion in the far northwest in the ice area of the map of Palworld. If you want to catch the Pal, you should equip yourself with warm clothing. Another downside: catching Frostallion is not exactly easy and requires a lot of effort.
Jormuntide Ignis

Jormuntide Ignis is a Pal that you must have in the late game, and it is also really strong in combat. As a dragon and fire type, Jormuntide Ignis has access to Fireball and Dragon Meteor, two abilities with an attack strength of 150, which can deal substantial damage to any opponent. As a fire Pal, Jormuntide Ignis provides you with an attack bonus against grass and ice.
You can find Jormuntide Ignis far to the west on the small island that looks like a crown on the map. You cannot miss Jormuntide Ignis there.
Paladius

Paladius is powerful and has several strong attacks available, such as Spear Thrust (Neutral) and Blizzard Spike (Ice). Its defense value is the highest in the entire game. This allows it to absorb significant damage.
Its partner skill “Holy Sky Knight” is especially useful, as it allows for triple jumps. This way, you can not only quickly escape battles but also explore the world more easily.
You can find Paladius in the northeast of the map in the desert. Travel to the teleporter “Sandy Dunes – Hinterland” and from there head north.
Shadowbeak

Shadowbeak is a flying Pal. It is one of the creatures with the best stats in the game and has a defense of 140 points, ranking second best. Only Paladius has a higher value.
In terms of active skills, Shadowbeak focuses on dark attacks. Three attacks (Nightmare Ball, Sky Punishment, and Shadow Laser) have a base power of 100 points, which is a very good value.
You can find Shadowbeak far in the northeast of the map on island No. 3. The easiest way to get there is by using a flying mount or a swimming mount.
Blazamut Ryu

Blazamut Ryu is one of the raid bosses introduced with the Sakurajima update in Palworld. It is an enhanced version of Blazamut. In addition to its high attack and defense values, it also employs a combination of dragon and fire attacks.
All these attributes make Blazamut Ryu one of the strongest Pals in the game, but it is also not easy to capture.
To fight Blazamut Ryu, you need to build a summoning altar that you can unlock from level 33 in the technology menu.
Bellanoir Libero

Bellanoir Libero is one of the two Pals you can find as a raid boss, alongside Blazamut Ryu. Its life points (120) and defense (100) are on the upper side, but it has the best magic attack value in the game with 150. This is very practical as most of the Pal’s attacks rely on magic.
Bellanoir Libero has four abilities with a power value over 100. This makes the Pal especially strong when you have to fight large groups of Pals.
To obtain Bellanoir Libero in Palworld, you first need to defeat it in a raid and then hatch the huge dark egg it drops. You can start the raid with a summoning portal.
The Best Mounts in Palworld
Chillet
Element: Ice, Dragon | Skills: Gathering, Cooling | Partner Skill: Wriggling Weasel (adds dragon damage to player attacks when ridden) | Drop: Leather
The water dragon Chillet offers a good combination of attack and speed. While Chillet may not be the fastest mount, it has both ice and dragon attacks, which more than compensates for its speed.
Direhowl

Vanwyrm

The Vanwyrm is a good option from the Pal deck if you want an offensive creature in the skies. Thanks to the elements of fire and shadow, it has strong abilities and can transport you quickly across the map.
If you are lucky, you can find Vanwyrm already west of your starting zone. Otherwise, it can be found far to the west of the large map. A very good alternative is Nitewing, which you can encounter in the starting zone. Vanwyrm and Nitewing are often found as loners.
Surfent

If you want to explore the sea on the map, there is no way around Surfent. Surfent is by far the fastest Pal in the water. Additionally, it has strong water attacks that can keep enemies at bay. When capturing Surfent, you can also find and collect Pal Juice, which you need for many products.
However, there is a downside: Surfent can only be found in two tiny regions on the map, located west of the starting zone.
Jetragon

When it comes to the fastest flying creature in Palworld, Jetragon is likely at the top. However, there is a catch. This boss Pal is level 50 and difficult to defeat, especially at the beginning. You can find Jetragon far in the west of the map in the Obsidian Mountains. Additionally, heat-resistant clothing is mandatory for the battle.
With Nitewing and Vanwyrm, you have two very good flying alternatives to bridge the gap to Jetragon.
The Best Pals for Your Base
Fixy

The great strength of Fixy is the free drops: Fixy drops blue Pal Spheres and arrows when you use it as a worker in your storage and have built a livestock farm. This is especially worthwhile in the beginning when you do not want to invest resources into arrows and Pal Spheres.

Woolipop

Woolipop looks similar to Lamball but is pink. However, Woolipop’s strength is its ability: When you assign Woolipop to a livestock farm, it produces cotton candy, which you can eat to nourish yourself. This is practical when you are tired of roasted fruits.
Lamball
