Palworld is now available in Early Access and you can finally get started. With over 100 catchable Pals, the question arises, which one to start with. Here are our tips for you.
How many Pals are there in the game? In the Early Access of Palworld, there are about 113 different Pals. According to the developer, there should be a total of 175 at the full release.
What should you pay attention to when choosing a Pal? When selecting your Pals, pay attention to their type. Currently, there are:
- Neutral
- Plant
- Fire
- Water
- Ice
- Electric
- Ground
- Dark.
All types with their strengths and weaknesses can be found directly on MeinMMO explained:
Additionally, each Pal has partner and work abilities. This makes them suitable for various tasks. What exactly they can do for you depends on their types mentioned above: Electric Pals can power your machinery, while Water types can water your vegetable gardens.
These starters will help you get the best possible start in Palworld
Each of the following Pals is helpful for starting in the game, even though each of them has a slightly different focus. Therefore, choose your starter according to your gaming preferences.
All four of our suggestions can fight – by the way, you can also catch them all. Unlike in Pokémon, you don’t have to choose a specific starter. It’s just about the order.
You can find all these Pals relatively close to your initial camp.
Cattiva for more carrying capacity
Cattiva is a Neutral type Pal. Its partner ability allows you to have Cattiva carry materials for you. This increases your overall carrying capacity.
In combat, it stands out by pursuing enemies and repeatedly striking them with its Punch Flurry
.
At the camp, it assists you with crafts, transport, gathering, and mining.
Chikipi for fresh eggs
The chicken among the Pals is Chikipi, a neutral type. It is especially helpful due to its ability to lay eggs, which you can then process into food. For this, you just need to assign it to a ranch.
In battle, it uses Chicken Rush
: Chikipi flies towards the enemies and blocks their vision. At the same time, it keeps attacking with its beak.
When it comes to work, Chikipi can assist you with gathering and farming.
Foxparks for campfires
Foxparks is a Fire Pal that keeps you warm. It is essential for survival because it can light your campfire. Campfires are crucial if you want to cook and feed yourself.
When you send Foxparks into battle, it attacks with Dakko Fire
. This ability allows it to shoot fireballs from its bushy tail at the enemies. You can also pick it up and use it like a flamethrower.
This Pal unfortunately cannot be found directly around your first camp. You will need to search for it in a slightly larger radius.
Lamball for wool
Pal Lamball is also neutral and appears quite frequently in the world of Palworld. When you equip it, its thick wool transforms into a Fluffy Shield
– it protects you from attacks.
When it fights, Lamball uses Roly Poly
. It rolls into a ball, trying to knock down opponents like a bowling ball.
In work, this Pal helps you with crafts, transport, gathering, and mining.
This order is our recommendation
Basically, you can start well with any of the four Pals: Foxparks is essential as it provides you with fire. Lamball, on the other hand, increases your defense and thus your initial chances of survival.
We would collect the Pals in the following order: Lamball, Foxparks, Chikipi, and lastly Cattiva.
