Protecting oneself from harm is extremely important if you want to survive in Palworld. Ironically, one of the basic items for this was completely missed by a player: the shield.
Which item are we talking about? On Reddit, a user shared that he only discovered the shield in Palworld at level 35. He had not used it before because he thought he had to use it manually, and he did not understand its purpose.
However, a video made him aware of the blue indicator above the health bar. He then realized that the shield is permanently active and does not need to be used manually.
So he crafted a shield right away and found that the battles are now significantly easier.

This is how the shield works in Palworld: Shields in Palworld can be crafted at your primitive workbench, which you unlock right at the beginning of the game. Later on, at level 28, you unlock the conveyor belt workshop, where you can also craft stronger shields.
Once you have crafted a shield, it will be in your inventory. There is a special slot for your shield where you can place it.
Once equipped, the shield remains active, and a blue bar appears over your health indicator, showing the remaining shield. You do not need to equip it manually; it surrounds you automatically like a thin barrier in battle that protects you.
