The map of Palworld is large, and traveling on foot from A to B takes quite a while. A player has now invested time and patience to breed a Direhowl that is 60% faster. How he did it, you can read here.
What kind of mount did the player breed? The super-fast mount is a Direhowl. It is number 26 in the Paldeck. You can find them here, among other places:
- Forgotten Island
- Azurobe Hill
- Sea Breeze Archipelago
- Fort Ruins

Direhowls are white-gray wolf-like Pals that can carry you across the world of Palworld with a Direhowl saddle harness. According to the description in the Paldeck, the riding speed of the creature is higher than usual.
The harness must be unlocked with technology points. To be able to craft it, you need the following materials:
- 10 leather
- 20 wood
- 15 fibers
- 10 Paldium fragments
reddit user DaD_Maiden made use of the increased riding speed: He paired two Direhowls together until he got a Direhowl that seems to be 60% faster than the other mounts. The key point is the special type of the Pal – Direhowls are the faster mounts – as well as the passive traits of the creature.
What affects the speed of a mount? For one, Direhowls are generally faster than other mounts, and on the other hand, this special Pal has very good passive traits:
- Lucky: Level 3; +15% attack and work speed
- Nimble: Level 1; +10% speed
- Runner: Level 2; +20% speed
- Swift: Level 3; +30% speed

How do you obtain the fast Direhowl? It is not so easy to get this Direhowl. You mainly need a lot of patience.
In the first step, you need one female and one male Direhowl. Make sure they have the passive traits Nimble
, Runner
, and Swift
. Lucky
is optional. However, the first three traits are absolutely essential: When Pals are paired, the resulting Pals inherit the passive traits from the parent generation – both good and bad.

Breed with your two selected parent Pals until you have the passive traits described above. You can also breed further with the resulting Pals to gradually get closer to your desired configuration.
Once you have the passive traits as high as possible, you also need to increase two more stats: the level of the Pal and the number of Pal souls applied to the Pal.
You can improve the Pal leveling at the statues of power. In total, there are four levels, which you can recognize based on the filled stars in the upper left in the Pal overview. To strengthen Pals, you must first condense creatures of the same type with a Pal sponge, which you unlock at level 12.
Statues of power also allow you to use Pal souls to upgrade your partners. Collect as many small, medium, and large Pal souls as possible and use them as you see fit.
