In Palworld, it can happen that your Pals become sick and, for example, become depressed. In this guide, we explain how you can cheer up and heal your Pals.
This is how you recognize that your Pal is depressed: As soon as you enter your camp, a camp info appears on the right side of the screen. This shows you how many Pals are currently in your camp, how many beds you have, and how your Pals are doing. If your Pal is affected by an illness, you will find this information as a colored box directly under your Pal.

In our screenshot, for example, you can see that one of the Pals is overfed. If your Pal were now depressed, it would say “depressed” there instead of “overfed.”
Pals can have different illnesses
What illnesses can Pals have? Besides depression, Pals can have a number of illnesses. Some of these illnesses can be resolved by giving the Pals something to eat. The following are:
- Hungry
- Starving
You still have enough food for your Pals, but they are still hungry? Currently, it can still happen that your Pals get bugged in one spot and are unable to reach the food. You can easily solve this by briefly taking your Pals out of the camp and putting them back in.
However, there are also some illnesses that require healing or can be resolved more easily through healing. These illnesses are as follows:
- Depressed
- Exhausted
- Overfed
- Slightly injured
- Severely injured
- Broken bone
This is how you heal your Pals in Palworld: If one of your Pals is sick, it needs medicine. There are three levels of medicine:
- Weak medicine
- Medicine
- Strong medicine
You can give medicine to your Pal most easily by briefly taking it out of your camp and putting it into your team, then accessing your inventory. With a right-click, you can then select the required medicine and give it to your affected Pal.
Important: Medicine does not increase your Pal’s HP. For this, it needs to rest and be an inactive member of your team.

However, if your Pal is not only injured but also incapacitated, the medicine will not help you at first. To revive your Pal, you need to put it in your storage box, where it takes 10 minutes to regenerate. A faster option is when you put your Pal in your camp. The other Pals will then revive it.
How to get medicine in Palworld: To craft medicine, you need a medieval pharmacy workstation. Although you can also find medicine in the open world, you should definitely craft a medieval pharmacy workstation in the long run. You unlock this at level 12 in the technology tree. To build this, you need:
- 30x wood
- 5x nails
- 10x Paldium fragments

At your pharmacy workstation, you can now craft weak medicine, medicine, and strong medicine. Additionally, you can also craft two potions: the Dubious Juice, which improves your Pal’s mood and increases its work speed for a certain amount of time, but also significantly lowers your GEI. The Strange Juice has the same effect but in a stronger form.
At your pharmacy workstation, you can now craft different types of medicine:
| Type | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| Weak medicine | 5x red berries, 2x horn |
| Medicine | 3x metal bars, 3x horn, 1x bone |
| Strong medicine | 5x metal bars, 5x horn, 2x bones |
This is how you can prevent illnesses: You can also prevent illnesses of your Pals. While these cannot be completely avoided, it does save you from a camp collapse. It is important that there are always enough beds available for your Pals. If you are able to improve your beds, you should do so. The same applies to building a hot spring.
Additionally, it is advisable to keep an eye on your Pals’ GEI bar. Set up berry gardens and automate them if possible so that your Pals always have access to food.
