In Palworld there are over 100 different Pals that perform various tasks or serve as mounts. But which Pals are the best flying mounts at each level?
The map of Palworld is not exactly small, and exploring it is a core part of the gameplay loop of this survival game. If you want to traverse the entire map on foot, you will find yourself on a long and difficult path.
Moreover, you can only reach certain locations like conservation areas by water. A good flying mount is thus quite useful if you want to progress in Palworld.
On MeinMMO, you will find out which flying mounts are the best at each level in Palworld.
Palworld: The best flying mounts for each level
What are the best flying mounts for each level? By far the best flying mount in Palworld is Jetragon, but you can only ride it starting at level 50. Therefore, in our overview, you can see which Pals you should use for flying until you unlock Jetragon.
- Level 15 to 20 – Nitewing (Normal)
- Level 21 to 33 – Vanwyrm (Fire-Shadow)
- Level 34 to 37 – Beakon (Electric)
- Level 38 to 49 – Faleris (Fire)
- From Level 50 – Jetragon (Dragon)
Why are these the best flying mounts for their respective levels? Nitewing may not excel in stamina or flight speed, but it is the first flying mount you can obtain, and thus there is no way around it in the first 20 levels.
From level 21 onwards, Nitewing is replaced by Vanwyrm. Vanwyrm is only slightly faster than the bird, but you will still notice a difference. Vanwyrm also performs better in combat and is a solid choice as a Fire-Shadow Pal for the second tower boss duo Lily & Lyleen.
From level 34 to level 37, you should use the Electric Pal Beakon. It is a bit faster than Vanwyrm.
The Reddit user Aiming4Gaming0 recommends the Shadow Pal Helzephyr between Vanwyrm and Beakon, but to get its saddle, you need high-quality metal bars. To create high-quality metal bars, you need an upgraded furnace, which you can learn at level 34. At that point, you can also obtain the Beakon saddle. Therefore, we recommend skipping Helzephyr unless you really want it.
At level 37, you could temporarily switch to Ragnahawk, but already at the next level (level 38), Faleris is the better choice. If you are stingy and want to save resources, wait for that one level. The same goes for Frostalion/Frostalion Noct. You can learn the saddle at level 48, but from level 50 onwards, Jetragon is the better choice due to its significantly higher speed. Here you could save resources again.
The locations of the best flying mounts in Palworld
Where can you find the best flying mounts? We have created a map that shows you the locations of the 5 Pals that we have designated as the best flying mounts according to your level.

Since you can only catch Jetragon in a boss battle, you should prepare accordingly before flying to the location of the legendary dragon. You and your Pals should be level 50 – or at least close to it. Additionally, it is advisable to take Ice Pals with you to deal very effective damage.
Jetragon is not only the fastest flying mount in Palworld but also ranks among the 10 strongest Pals for combat.
