That Palworld has become a big success should be known to most. It’s no wonder that new games are now in development that are inspired by the successful game.
What are these clones? Currently, several games are in development that draw inspiration from Palworld. One in particular looks especially promising: “Auroria” by the Chinese developer Tianjin Wumai Technology, which is part of Tencent. It was recently revealed that a budget of 10 billion yen has been allocated for the game. This is 10 times that of Palworld, as the CEO revealed on X (formerly Twitter).
Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Palworld, also announced on X that a large number of games similar to Palworld would likely be released for mobile devices next year.
Here you can see the first raid from Palworld:
The CEO is happy about the competition
What does the CEO think about the clones? Here it gets interesting: The CEO expressed himself somewhat ambiguously in his post on X (formerly Twitter). Several media outlets took his post as a negative comment towards Tencent because he emphasized his words at certain points with ellipses. This was taken as a negative tone.
In the meantime, CEO Takuro Mizobe has clarified that he looks forward to the competition from China, as it leads to innovation.
I am proud that other companies want to develop games like Palworld. Historically, the industry has produced innovations when we adopt ideas from games we love.

The CEO also clarified in a third post on X that he is surprised by the Palworld clones, but he did not accuse anyone of copying anything.
Do the clones even have a chance? Yes, the clones can also become good games, and since Palworld currently offers nothing on the mobile market, many companies will likely try to fill the gap for the many mobile players. Especially in Asia, many people only play on their smartphones.
The competitor Auroria, mentioned at the beginning, could also become a success. According to Steam, it is set to be released in the second quarter of this year and is more oriented towards Satisfactory, featuring spaceships and futuristic designs.
Not only other games are bringing innovations to the “monster collecting and breeding” genre, but also Palworld itself. They have announced a new game mode for the summer: Palworld shows a new arena mode, reminiscent of one of the best Pokémon games from the 90s
