The world in Palworld is vast and you can build exactly three bases. Therefore, the locations for your bases should of course be the best possible. Here are our 6 recommendations for every need, marked on a map.
How did we select our base suggestions? We ensured that our selection includes good base suggestions, especially in the early and mid-game. With these suggestions, you should be able to protect your first bases well and later quickly access important resource deposits. Finally, we have one suggestion for your late-game ready.
Can I tear down my base later and set it up in another location? You can place up to three Palboxes at the same time and thus have up to three bases simultaneously. However, note that you will unlock the additional bases only with higher storage levels.
Attention: However, if you destroy a Palbox to establish your storage at a new location, you will lose items that cannot be built outside of storages.
Best Base Locations – Our 6 Suggestions
For Beginners
Most Palworld players will start on the starting level. There you will be washed ashore in the opening cutscene and you will meet the first Pals of the open world. There are also two very good locations for your first camp.
The first good spot is directly the one shown in the cutscene – at the beach. The location can be found on the starting level south at the coordinates 264 and -548. You will find your first Pals, stone, wood, and Paldium fragments here.
Alternatively, you can make your way over or through the hill north and make yourself comfortable at 230 and -515. Nearby is also a fast travel point. Here you can find stone and wood.
Both spots are easy to defend if you are attacked. The second spot, although lacking Paldium, is still a bit safer as it is not as easily accessible as the first.
For Mining Ores
Ores become essential at a certain point. Thus, it may be important for you to establish a storage at a spot with a high ore deposit. We recommend the autumn Hillside, the area west of the small village. You can find it at 7 and -529.
The ore deposits respawn every in-game day.

Since an update in April 2024, you can unlock and build an automatic ore mine from level 24, so you do not need to use a base for it after unlocking. You can then use it for other materials.
For Farming Pal Oil
If you have progressed further in Palworld, you will sooner or later need large amounts of Pal oil. It is necessary for weapons like the musket at level 21 or the assault rifle at level 45. It is also needed for polymer plates, which you also use for weapons and boards.
A base for farming the valuable resource makes absolute sense. We recommend the Twilight Dunes at coordinates -94 and -119. In the desert, where you can also find the boss variant of Anubis, it is small but full of Dumud and Digitoise buildings – the best sources for Pal oil.

For Mining Coal
Like the Pal oil mentioned above, coal is also very important for your mid and late game. A good spot for a base to farm coal and ores is at coordinates 180 and -39 at the Sealed Realm of the Guardian southwest of the Frostbound Mountain.
With the Sakurajima update, a new coal mine was introduced that you can unlock and build. Once you unlock it, you can use your base for newer materials.
Coal is not the charcoal you make with a fire Pal in your base. This is traditional coal, which you need for more powerful weapons and more complex buildings. Here you can find more information about it:
For Farming Ancient Components
To be able to craft the most important buildings, you need ancient components. The more you have, the better. Accordingly, a well-placed storage to farm these items can accelerate your progress.
For this purpose, we recommend the spot south of the fortress ruins at level 11 Alpha Pal Chillet. Since it is the weakest Alpha Pal, you can fight it relatively early, and the higher your level, the easier and faster it goes. Defeated Alpha Pals respawn after about one real hour. A camp at Chillet gives you quickly important components.

For Farming Crude Oil
With the Sakurajima update, a new resource became important in the end game. You need this for various crafting processes, making it an important material from level 50 onwards.
To mine crude oil effectively, we recommend a base at the Sakurajima oil fields at coordinates -646 and 270, where you encounter enemies of level 50+.
If you are already a bit higher in level, a spot at -1340 and -1285 in the west of Scorched Hill is ideal. There, you can mine not only crude oil but also Hexolite quartz, which you need for almost all crafting processes from the Feybreak update, making this spot the best location for your base so far. The enemies in this area are level 52+.
