Which boss is it about? Astegon is one of many bosses in Palworld. The Pal is of Dragon/Shadows type. It is not only a good work Pal, but also very suitable as a flying creature.
Having Astegon on your team is therefore advantageous. However, finding him might not be straightforward. The entrance to the boss’s cave is well hidden and can easily be overlooked. We will tell you where to find the boss on the map.
How to find the entrance to Astegon’s cave
Where is Astegon located? The boss is located in the volcanic area. More precisely, in the southwest. Astegon resides in a destroyed mine shaft, very close to the fast travel point called Mount Obsidian.
Even if you travel there, you might miss the entrance to the mine shaft. The exact coordinates are -576, -421. Here you can see the location on the map:
How do you fight Astegon? As usual, you need to deal considerable damage to the level 48 Pal first. This weakens it and allows you to capture it with a Pal Sphere. All information about the spheres can be found on MeinMMO.
Astegon is of Dragon and Shadows types and therefore has a weakness to Ice as well as to Dragon. So it’s best to bring along a suitable Pal. Ice Pals such as Penkinh or Ice Reptyro are suitable. For Dragon-type Pals, Jormuntide, Dinossom, or Azurobe are options. Chillet is Ice/Dragon and also well-suited for the battle.
Nevertheless, the battle can be tough. Astegon shoots cannons at you and has one or two attacks in his repertoire. It’s best to avoid them by running from left to right. In general, you should have heat-resistant armor with you. After all, you are right in the middle of the volcanic area.
If Astegon is weakened, you can try your luck with a high-leveled Pal Sphere, preferably a legendary one (level 47 and above). Just wait a moment and soon the Pal will be yours. There are various ways to increase your capture chance, but one of them is affected by a bug.
Is there another Astegon in the game? Yes, there is. If you want to skip the trip to the volcanic area, there is another specimen of the Pal in Nature Reserve 3. You can find it at the top right of the map. To reach this area, you either have to use fast travel or fly there with a Pal. The nature reserve is not located on the mainland. A player shows how you get a fast flying Pal – but you should have some patience.
