The MMORPG Palia will be available from March on Steam. Then you can play the self-proclaimed “Cozy-MMO” on Valve’s platform, and connect with players from other platforms via crossplay.
What kind of game is this? Palia is an MMORPG that consciously takes a different approach than other genre representatives. Here, no raids and bosses are tackled, but rather a relaxed experience is prioritized. The game comes from the studio Singularity 6, which consists of former developers from Blizzard and Riot.
Your new game Palia somewhat resembles Animal Crossing, only as an MMORPG. It brings various tasks that are usually secondary in classic MMORPGs to the forefront. For instance, taking care of your house, which you share with other NPCs and especially players. Specifically, there are the following tasks:
- Logging
- Mining
- Fishing
- Cooking
- Hunting wildlife
- Making your own furniture
- Gardening – growing food in your garden
- Catching insects – a mini-game
The cozy gameplay is framed by a rather utilitarian story. It revolves around us humans coming into the world of Palia. This world was once inhabited by a legendary people – of which there is now no trace. Instead, we are now building a new home, fostering friendships with neighbors, and taking it easy.
Palia is launching soon on Steam
Where can you play Palia? Palia is currently still in beta. The game has been playable on PC via the Epic Games Store and the developer Singularity 6’s own launcher since last October. Additionally, it has also been available on the Switch since December. In all cases, Palia is free to play – and that is supposed to remain the case.
If you were hoping for a Steam release, you can look forward to March 25th. That is when Palia will launch on Steam. In a press release (via massivelyop.com), the developers announced that crossplay with other platforms or launchers will be possible. So you can play with your friends who are on the Switch or any other PC launcher.
Thanks to the cross-platform availability of the game, Palia enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite activities together, such as hunting, fishing, designing their homes, and completing quests in the most convenient ways, from PC to couch.

The press release does not comment on the status of the game, so it can be assumed that the game will be listed as Early Access on Steam and is still under development accordingly.
Players who join the game with the Steam version within the first month will receive an in-game “Frogbert plush toy.” Yes, you read that right.
The strange frog will grow larger according to how many players add Palia to their Steam wish list. Every 100,000 players it grows, up to a limit of 500,000. An unusual incentive to play the game, but somehow fitting to Palia’s unconventional concept.
