The developers of Paladins want to take a closer look at “Project Scorpio.” A release on the Nintendo Switch, however, is – for now – rather unlikely.
Paladins recently entered open beta on the PS4 and Xbox One. This is how the hero shooter has truly launched on the consoles. Would a release on other consoles like the Nintendo Switch be conceivable now?
In an interview with DualShockers, Paladins Senior Producer Todd Harris revealed that a release on the Switch is not currently planned. The current focus is on the platforms PC/Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Todd Harris did not provide further reasons for this.
“Project Scorpio looks like great technology”
The “Project Scorpio” is expected to be the next Xbox, with significantly improved performance. Harris showed more interest in Project Scorpio than in the Nintendo Switch. In his view, the device looks like a piece of “great technology.” Studio Hi-Rez wants to keep an eye on the development of the Scorpio and could envision support here. At this time, however, they are not fully dedicating themselves to the Scorpio yet.
