The Hero Shooter Paladins is becoming a fan favorite. Even in beta, there are 5 million players.
Since the hero shooter from HiRez, Paladins: Champions of the Realm, launched on Steam, the game has developed wonderfully. It consistently shows solid player numbers, and the developers seem quite satisfied. As is customary nowadays, such successes need to be celebrated properly. Therefore, HiRez has released a video showcasing the current statistics from the beta.
With over 5 million players worldwide, there is certainly every reason to be happy – after all, the game hasn’t really released yet. Among the most popular characters are Skye (Elf Assassin), Fernando (Clumsy Knight), the war veteran Viktor, and the bouncing furball Pip.
In total, 2.2 billion players have already lost their virtual lives – a number that will surely multiply in the coming months.
Paladins is a hero shooter that many see as a free alternative to Overwatch. Unlike Blizzard’s game, Paladins offers additional customization options for characters, resulting in some small gameplay differences.

Cortyn says: Even though I wasn’t too fond of the deviations from the original concept in Paladins, the game seems to slowly be finding its niche and binding an ever-growing fan base. If you’re currently not in the mood for Roadhog, Tracer, and co., you should take a look – after all, it’s free to play and thus without risks.
