The hero shooter from HiRez, Paladins, has entered open beta. There are many new contents.
Do you still remember Paladins? After the hero shooter from HiRez was in closed beta for quite a while, they have now taken the step onto Valve’s gaming platform and are officially launching into open beta. Since yesterday (09/16/2016), the game can be downloaded and played via Steam.
Paladins targets a larger audience
In terms of scope, a lot has improved in recent months. There are now 17 champions to choose from, who use lead, wood, metal, and pretty much every other weapon against each other on the 3 maps.
Appropriately for the launch, HiRez has of course released a new trailer that we want to share with you.
HiRez is now entering further collaborations with Valve, for example, there is a skin for the dwarf Barik that resembles the Engineer from Team Fortress 2. All items obtained during the beta will be seamlessly transferred into the full version of the game. There will, at least that’s the current plan, be no loss of progress.

Mein-MMO says: Paladins, like Battleborn, is one of those titles that got a bit overshadowed during the launch of Overwatch. However, as Paladins is still in beta, the future of the game is not yet clear – since the initial release of the beta a few months ago, the game has developed significantly. Whether it can hold its own in the hero shooter market will be proven by the fans in the coming weeks. Anyone looking for a free alternative to Overwatch should at least take a look at Paladins.
