About a month ago, Blizzard’s MOBA Heroes of the Storm officially released. To give newcomers a little kickstart, we’ve put together this guide for you. It covers some basic tips for HotS and also shows you how you can achieve early success with 4 easy-to-play heroes.
The Ingame Tutorial of Heroes of the Storm
The tutorial teaches all the basics and grants gold. Be sure to play it!
For the further text, I assume that you have played the ingame tutorial. It addresses the fundamental questions regarding controls and game objectives, explains the behavior of minions, and provides information about the layout of the map. Additionally, playing the tutorial grants quite a bit of gold, so even MOBA veterans should click through the introductory cards!
A Few Basic Information About the Guide
A Great Emphasis Was Placed on Simplicity
Please note that I do not claim all-encompassing accuracy here. There are certainly many other ways to play the heroes presented in Heroes of the Storm – however, I consider the presented variants to be particularly beginner-friendly.
Raynor is easy to play and very cheap, but relatively not much fun.
For this reason, I also placed great emphasis on the talent selection of the heroes, choosing only talents that grant a passive bonus or an improvement to existing abilities. Almost every character can still choose some “active” abilities, but since this requires even more attention, I didn’t want to overwhelm newcomers.
Not All Characters Are Cheap
I will present a character for each class, but not all of them are cheap and therefore easy to obtain.
One costs 10,000 gold coins, while another only costs 2,000. I selected the characters based solely on whether they are easy to learn and, above all, whether they provide subjective enjoyment. At the same time, I made sure to recommend heroes to you who offer something left to learn and improve.
For this reason, I did not take Raynor for the assassins. Although he is cheap and super easy to learn, he offers little improvement potential and is, in my view, not much fun in Heroes of the Storm. At the very beginning of your career, you will inevitably have to rely on the heroes that are in the current free rotation, and they change weekly. Alternatively, heroes can, of course, be purchased with real money if one wants to play them immediately.

In the Free2Play MMORPG Rift the future is looked at with confidence and the past with pride. On July 15, it continues.
“Log in and play! We offer the best Free2Play experience, are better than ever before, and have a lot of stuff you don’t know yet,” said a visibly proud Game Director Christopher Junior to the US site Massively Overpowered in an interview. He was asked what he would like to say to Rift fans who have not logged in for a while.
The Henchman System is well received by developers and players
They knew they had a hit when they caught developers playing with the henchmen during their lunch break.

Massive expansion achieved, but it could be the last in this form
Overall, they are proud at Rift to have created such a massive expansion like “Nightmare Tide” for Free2Play. Since then, they haven’t been slacking off, but have made some important, though rather unspectacular changes like a new wardrobe system or a new form of instant adventures.
Whether they plan another “big expansion all at once” like Nightmare Tide remains open in the conversation. They hint that this also has disadvantages, bringing everything at once. This holds back game content that is already finished. In the coming weeks, they want to talk about “other forms of the game content cycle.” For 2015, they have the new base class still planned.
On July 15, Wandering Nightmares will arrive
With July 15, a new story begins in Rift anyway: “Wandering Nightmares” is coming, Patch 3.3. This brings the first part of the “Nightmare Saga“, as well as dimension crafting, instant adventures on the Tarken Glacier, and a new, easier introduction mode for the raid.

The fantasy MMORPG Neverwinter is celebrating the summer festival in July.
As soon as the anniversary event in June is over, the next one begins: Summer is celebrated joyfully and exuberantly in Neverwinter. The multi-week event “Summer Festival” runs until July 30 at 7 PM our time. There are daily quests, some contests, and especially a lot of cosmetic items that radiate summer joy.
You have to bring livestock to the stable, fend off attacking trolls, you can splash each other in a water battle or collect flowers. All this to have fun and earn points, with which you can buy all sorts of trinkets like a water horse, a riding pig, or a dragon piñata :
Game-wise, the guild strongholds, which are coming this year, will be the focus for Neverwinter for the rest of 2015. A lot has been planned and the world is being flooded with blog posts about the individual sections. Additionally, they want to properly supply the Xbox One version with content to get it up to speed with the PC version as quickly as possible.
In the MMO shooter Destiny, fusion rifles are among the special weapons. We present to you 6 of the best and explain how you can reshape them to possess the ultimate fusion rifle in Destiny.
All good things come in threes. After our reshaping guides for shotguns and pulse rifles in House of Wolves, we will this time focus on a sadly somewhat forgotten weapon class: fusion rifles.
A warning upfront: Since the last weapon balance patch in Destiny fusion rifles are no longer the first choice for using special weapons in the Crucible. The last patch made the projectile spread larger.
This means you have to be very close to the enemy for as many projectiles as possible to hit the target. However, this often puts you within the range of shotguns, which, unlike fusion rifles, have no wind-up time. A duel you cannot win. For this reason, almost no one uses fusion rifles in the competitive multiplayer mode anymore.
But don’t throw in the towel. We will show you how to improve the relevant stats on your fusion rifles, master the spread, and achieve one-hit kills at longer distances.
Consider it a future investment, should Bungie tweak things again with the next big expansion “The Taken King” and strengthen fusion rifles. Furthermore, all weapons and perks shown here are also fully recommended in PVE mode.
With the House of Wolves, the possibility has also been introduced to re-roll every new weapon from the add-on with the gunmaster. This was previously reserved only for the Iron Banner weapons. To be able to reforge weapons, you need the following materials:
The sand park MMO ArcheAge introduced a skill queue system. This was heavily exploited. It was already disabled shortly thereafter.
As reported by the US site Massively Overpowered, there was a surprising failure in the implementation of a new system by Trion Worlds for ArcheAge. They intended to introduce a “skill queue,” which would allow players to give their character multiple commands that would be executed sequentially. Each time an animation of a skill is completed, the next one follows. But it faltered on the very principle of “sequential execution.”
For in ArcheAge, there is a skill, the Sorcery spell “God’s Whip,” which reportedly breaks animations and well … it didn’t turn out very well. God’s Whip is the lightning AE effect in these videos:

Instant kills were the result of the new system. Thus, shortly after the implementation of the system, Trion Worlds took the servers down to deactivate it. This all happened on Thursday and Friday.
Community manager changes
The removal of the skill queue is a short-term solution, they will revise the system and bring it back later. This is announced by the new community manager of ArcheAge, Seraphina Brennan. She previously worked on Infinite Crisis, but Turbine’s MOBA is now history.
In the past, ArcheAge has experienced issues. Due to a seemingly complicated partnership with the Korean developers, patches often do not do what they are supposed to do. Fairly speaking, this also happens in other games. But rarely as frequently and severely as in ArcheAge.

The Free2Play fantasy MMO Echo of Soul has introduced its first raid.
In Korea, it has been on the market for a while now, for us Europeans, “Echo of Soul” still has that new car smell. On July 1, there was already a patch, and the content was presented in a video.
The spotlight is particularly on the first raid: here, ten heroes can prove their skills against the colossal dryad.
With the Albion Tabernacle and the Holy Fire Mountain, two group dungeons have also been added to Echo of Soul. Thanks to a replay function, players can directly record their gameplay with the EoS client, analyze it, or edit it for publication.
The superhero MMO DC Universe Online (PS3, PS4, PC) has honored the red blur, Flash, on his 75th birthday.
Compared to Marvel’s competition of green rage monsters, Nordic gods, playboy geniuses in robot suits, and mutants, Flash, the red blur, sometimes seems like a relic from another time. No wonder, he has been around for a quarter of a century now. Flash can basically just “run damn fast.” But the oldie is now once again among the superheroes of DC who have been brought to their own current TV series – alongside Arrow and the still very young Batman.
And the superhero MMO DC Universe Online is also dedicating a monument to Flash on his 75th birthday. Flash first appeared in 1940 in a different incarnation. The current one, Barry Allen, obtained his powers through a lightning strike.
In the video, DC Universe Online reveals that they designed the “Superspeed” ability arsenal with the red blur, Flash, in mind.

At the Comic Con in San Diego, first scenes from the Warcraft movie have just been presented. Take a first look at the cinematic spectacle that awaits us next year, which is set to bring the World of Warcraft and other parts of the franchise to the big screen.
Two Worlds. One Home. – the Warcraft Movie
Anduin Lothar – another legendary hero of the Alliance.
Now, after many years of waiting, the time has finally come! First scenes from the upcoming Warcraft movie were presented at the Comic Con. The scenes displayed not only the Alliance under King Llane in all its splendor but also provided initial glimpses of the Orcs and their culture – and according to eyewitnesses, it could hardly be depicted better and more realistically. The Horde rushes through the dark portal to Azeroth, where they begin to overwhelm the humans to ensure their own survival. In the second part, we saw the humans banding together against this new threat, wanting to fight back with all their might. During these battles, a young Orc is born amidst the war – Thrall, who will later steer the fate of the Horde decisively.
As promised, the movie seems to want to bring the story closer to newcomers in the Warcraft universe while simultaneously surprising long-time fans with new details. The combination of CG animations and real people seems somewhat unusual to some, as can be read.
Unfortunately, the 6 minutes of footage have not been released, however, an official trailer is expected in the coming days, as well as the release of posters for all main characters that were shown at Comic Con.

The robe is the only exotic “Split Chest Armor” in Destiny, which means it increases not just one stat, but two, Discipline and Strength. The maximum values that the robe can reach here are 103 per stat. So it can go extremely high.
The perks of the Cleansing Robe are:
Serpent’s Bite: When you deal damage with a grenade, your melee cooldown is reset
Serpent’s Tail: When you deal damage in melee, your grenade cooldown is reduced
Burn Bright: When “Illuminate” is activated from death, nearby enemies are confused
Grenade and melee support each other. The “Burn Bright” occurs during the Lazarus action of the Sunsinger, resurrecting from the dead. It affects enemies in a radius and blinds them in PvE or PvP for a few seconds.
How good is the Cleansing Robe in Destiny’s PvE and PvP?
As is often the case, there are opposing opinions on this. In a review by the experts at Planetdestiny, it is said: The grenade/melee thing is nice in PvE, but the “Burn Bright” effect does not bring enough there because it is too rare to be surrounded by melee enemies. And dying just to kill enemies would often be quite silly; it would be more practical to deal with enemies from a safe distance. In PvP, however, the element of surprise is great and can turn a fight, especially when you die at choke points. So to speak: If you’re going to die, do it in the right place.

Our friend Nexxoss sees it exactly the opposite. He says: At a high level in PvP, Burn Bright does very little because strong players know exactly what trick is coming and won’t fall for it. Even if they are blinded, they turn off the Sunsinger’s light that has just been activated again. He could definitely imagine using the robe in PvE, especially in tight situations in the Prison of Elders or the Nightfall strike, where a safe resurrection is beneficial.
The optimal situation, as here, probably occurs rarely:

Conclusion: Just ask yourself how often enemies are right next to you when you return from the dead and whether you really want to give up the Exotic slot for that and the nice melee/grenade synergy effect?
Or what experiences have you had with this thing?

With the upcoming Guild Wars 2 expansion Heart of Thorns, there are significant changes in the massive PvP area. The former Borderlands are not only being revamped but are getting a completely new look.
A Battlefield of Desolation
The first expansion of GW2 is expected to not only bring new areas to the game but also to revise old aspects that ArenaNet considered expandable. For this reason, some changes are being made to one of the WvWvW maps, where up to three servers can fight simultaneously. The former Borderlands – basically the contested area between the three servers – are fundamentally being revamped. Everything will be a little more compact to involve players more frequently in small and large PvP skirmishes. Thanks to a user from imgur, we can now see what the new, desert-like map of the Borderlands looks like from above. It has little in common with the old Borderlands …

In the fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV there was a new producer letter. It promised better graphics for PlayStation 4 players thanks to Direct X 11 and assured that it would take care of roommates and employees.
The “Producer Letters” of Final Fantasy XIV are comprehensive communications. A variety of topics are covered. The producer and mastermind Naoki Yoshida explained that PlayStation players can likely look forward to gradually enjoying the Direct X 11 client. There are no anticipated difficulties in making the client available to PlayStation players in small steps. At the moment, it is only available for PC: Compared to the old Direct X 9 client it looks significantly better, especially in terms of mirror and water effects.
A slight dampener:While Heavensward is not planning to introduce new jobs. This is only intended for the next expansion 4.0.
For patch 3.1, there are no particularly spectacular innovations planned. They want to introduce a “roommate” feature that allows players to share their houses with close friends. This way, they can decorate together, raise a Chocobo, or garden.
The “Retainers“, the employees, are to be improved to enable them to use jobs, including the new ones. Retainers will continue to play a significant role in the future. In the medium term, they should be able to store entire equipment sets.
For 3.1, several cosmetic updates and minor changes have been announced, including a hairstyle in an Afro look, a Vanu Vanu dance, and the ability to keep an eye on the TP of group members. (On a personal note: I dread the thought of everyone seeing how poor my bard’s TP management is).
In the MMO shooter Destiny , the DLC “House of Wolves” was released a few weeks ago. Will it bore players faster than Darkness Lies?
It’s something like background noise that can be heard: House of Wolves is better than “Darkness Lies”, but you can also get through it faster and end up playing less. Due to changes in item mechanics, there are “fewer” special weapons or armor that players desire. Most have their “favorite weapons” already and can upgrade them to the new maximum values thanks to Etheric Light.
Will Destiny be the downfall?
You reach the max level faster and there is no raid – why play anymore?
A lengthy grind to the max level is also eliminated: Back in Darkness Lies, you had to raid heavily and regularly to reach the max level. You needed 63 radiant shards to upgrade the raid armor enough to reach Light Level 32. Today, it’s different: With 3 etheric lights, anyone can bring any legendary armor to the new maximum value. One exotic piece of armor too and the Guardian is at the limit.
With the increased emphasis on PvP and the absence of a raid, many feel that “House of Wolves” has less potential for prolonged play.
Is that really the case? Is Bungie already noticing a decline in players? No, says Bungie’s statistician on reddit. However, this statement is now 11 days old. It dates back to the end of June.
House of Wolves was played even more in the first month than “Darkness Lies”
The account “Bungie User Research,” associated with Bungie, explained on reddit that players “HAVE PLAYED A LOT” of Destiny in the first month after House of Wolves was released. Even more than during “Darkness Lies,” and in some respects even more than at launch of the actual game last September.
In the last weeks of June, the number of hours invested by players has declined somewhat and is now closer to normal. The hours still remain above average, but “now they aren’t skipping Grandma’s birthday just to kill Skolas again.”
If you look at the numbers of players logging in daily, there hasn’t been a mass exodus. During the week of May 19, there was a significant spike, since then the player numbers have declined a bit, but not noticeably. The figures suggest that House of Wolves is doing a very good job of keeping players engaged.
And these are not just newcomers: The overwhelming majority of day-one players who were active at the launch of House of Wolves have also played in the last week of June.
In September, it continues
My MMO states: These are interesting numbers that align with player statements. In the first weeks, the impression created by the new story and the Prison of Elders was that there was much more to do than ever before: “How am I supposed to accomplish all of this?” was often lamented.
However, after a few weeks, a disillusionment set in, particularly among frequent players who place a high value on their loot: “What? That’s all? The same thing keeps coming up in the Prison of Elders? Why should I do this, I don’t need any more weapons. It’s not worth it anymore.”
On the other hand, PvP players found a significantly increased incentive to go into the Crucible with House of Wolves. Rewards have been improved, with the Trials of Osiris also introducing special gear for them. This may have led to an increase in playing hours there and also converted some “only PvE players,” ensuring that despite the lack of a raid, they still spend some hours in Destiny.
Nevertheless, a trend is emerging that “House of Wolves” is front-heavy, with a lot of playtime at the beginning of the expansion and a more significant decline already after the first weeks compared to “Darkness Lies.” But to say that definitively, we would need the numbers from the ongoing July and August. And it seems unlikely that we will ever get them.
However, it seems Bungie anticipated that the “House of Wolves” DLC would fade relatively quickly. The next major expansion is already announced for September: King of the Possessed. So if there is a “dry spell,” it is likely to be quite short.

The fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online has now roughly outlined dates for the future and stated when fans can expect information about the new DLCs.
Dates and details were sought in vain. Fans are eagerly waiting for them. This should change soon, and later this month they want to talk more specifically about the next update: This will be a PvP update featuring the Imperial City, a change to the combat system, and an increase in the level cap. That much is already known.
The next big date announced is Quake-Con on July 24. A large panel with the key figures behind TESO development is to be held here.
Already a year ago at Quake-Con, some of the “biggest changes” were presented. Although even after a year, not all of them can be found in the game. There hasn’t been any news about some large ideas like spell weaving for a long time. The champion and justice systems, the two most important features, are not yet fully implemented in the game but are only in a preliminary stage: The console version came in between. In the meantime, they have already hinted that the development of the game will noticeably slow down compared to subscription times.
This year at Quakecon, they want to present the Imperial City in detail and announce news about the major updates.
News for The Elder Scrolls Online coming next week
But fans will not have to wait until July 24.
In the meantime, the German community manager Kai Schober had already hinted that on Monday, July 13, they would present the first details about the “Imperial City”. However, this has been retracted. Now it says: A bit later next week they will come forward with information. They are eager to share it.

After a relatively controversial decision in the upcoming shooter Overwatch, Blizzard is now reversing course. A much-requested graphics setting is finding its way into the final game.
90-60-120 … Degrees.
With a larger FOV, you can see significantly more of the world.
In Overwatch, it was originally planned that all players would have a fixed field of view (“FOV” = “Field of Vision”). This decision has now been reversed. Players can now – as is common in this genre – set their FOV themselves. From a small field of view, to the hell of all people who suffer from “Motion Sickness”, everything will be possible.
By not having this feature, one promised more fairness, because if all players only had about a quarter (92°) of the viewing circle available, it would create balanced conditions. The original idea was that players should not have to go into the graphics settings just to gain a tactical advantage. However, the criticism from many fans has now led to this issue belonging to the past.

One of the most characteristic pieces of clothing in World of Warcraft is that of the Stormwind Soldiers. Every member of the Alliance loves to have the set hanging in their wardrobe, and every Horde player has knocked some people out of life (or alternatively cast spells) in this armor. The brave heroes will of course also play a role in the Warcraft movie. Visitors to Comic Con were able to catch a glimpse of the blue and silver armors of the soldiers, King Llane, and Orgrim. They already provide a good impression of the quality we can expect in the film. Of course, a lot will still be enhanced with CGI animations in the finished film, but the level of attention to detail in the props is absolutely fantastic. Who wouldn’t want such armor standing in their home?

The MMO shooter Destiny will overhaul and redesign the existing quest system with the expansion “The Taken King.”
The Weekly Update arrived a day late. As promised, there was a closer look at the expansion “The Taken King.” It was about the existing quest system and how the developers want to change that with the big add-on in September.
Transforming existing activities into quests
The announcement about the quest system was made by the Game Director for “The Taken King,” Luke Smith.
They had good experiences with the exotic quests for the Thorn or Bad Juju in the base game. These quests consisted of several activities and challenges that together told a story. And that is exactly what they want to expand with the expansion, also “questifying” the existing game content, meaning transforming them into quests.
The goal is to send players on an adventure journey with memorable highlights, at the end of which a reward awaits.
As highlights of the new quest system coming with 2.0, Bungie emphasizes:
Players will receive more room for quests
Both quests and bounties can be tracked by Guardians in the interface
Completed bounties can be finished and submitted from the quest screen
The reputation moves from the inventory screen to the quests.
In Year 2, they will rely even more on quests, so they want to improve them. That’s it for now on the new quests.
The Weekly Update will discuss numerous changes coming with “The Taken King” in the coming weeks, including: weapons, balance, new destinations, the progress of the Guardians, and the various enemies.
Moments of Triumph increase engagement in activities in Destiny
Since introducing the new emblem on Tuesday, which will only be given to players who complete certain activities on September 15, participation in these activities has surged.
Compared to the previous week, there was:
39% higher participation in Public Events
74% more kills of Skolas in the Prison of Elders
40% more participation in the Hard Mode of Crota’s End
but only 10% more participation in Atheon-Hard – Bungie attributes this to the fact that many had already farmed it for the Fatebringer before.
Looking back at the Community Day and the video for the one-year anniversary, Community Manager DeeJ admitted somewhat roundabout that he had focused on too few community members. They promise to make an effort to make more players stars in the future.
Bungie goes to Germany
At the end of the Weekly Update, the Community Manager announced that he would polish up his German. They plan to go to Cologne for Gamescom. Here, the presence of Destiny will also revolve around the expansion The Taken King.
Next Thursday, DeeJ will likely talk about new weapons coming with “The Taken King” in the Weekly Update. The community can look forward to artwork of heavy weapons from the new factories.

On Friday, July 10th, the Trials of Osiris started in Destiny. It takes place on the Widow’s Court. Two German streamers are offering to guide solo players to their dream destination.
“Widow’s Court” is probably the most beautiful Crucible map, resembling a World War shooter, featuring long sightlines and a picturesque, somewhat bombed landscape. The PvP event Trials of Osiris leads there this week. If you need tips on how to play on the Widow’s Court, check out this article.
As always, the typical Trials of Osiris tricks apply this week: Reviving before anything else. Teamplay and communication are paramount. And well… the weaponry isn’t bad either, but we won’t give you tips on that, as it often spirals into a kind of holy war, since the most popular and effective weapons (the Thorn and strong shotguns like the Matador 64) have a pretty bad reputation in other games.
German streamers bring random players to Mercury (Xbox One)
Four German-speaking streamers reached out to us recently and asked to promote their special event this weekend. From today at 7:00 PM until tomorrow at 7:00 PM, they want to host a 24-hour event. They will wait in two streaming channels with two teams of two for a third player, an audience member, and want to carry them flawlessly to Mercury.
So, if you’ve always wanted to go to the Lighthouse in Destiny: Here are the streams. You just need to type your Gamertag in the chat and wait for a spot to open. The event takes place on Xbox One. A cool initiative by the four. Guaranteeing success is of course difficult, it ultimately depends on the opponents.
If you want to participate, you should have three buffs from Brother Vance and a headset.
But for some, this might be the only chance to see Mercury:
The voxel MMO Trove was officially released by Trion Worlds yesterday and is now also available on Steam. On this occasion, we had the opportunity to interview Executive Producer Andrew Krausnick.
But what is Trove? Essentially, it is a huge sandbox – worlds grow organically, are procedurally generated – in short: there is no lack of freedom. The many MMO and RPG elements are the unique selling point with which the developers try to distinguish themselves from competitors like Minecraft. There are raids, companions, crafting, a class system, and generally many adventures that you can embark on together with others.
A lot has happened in the colorful world of Trove, which can be built and destroyed by players since the beta. Meanwhile, there are 9 different, partly extravagant classes to choose from, with the developers aiming to appeal to a wide range of player types. For example, you can play as a boomeranger, pirate captain, or candy barbarian. Also worth mentioning are the trendy means of transportation, which come in every conceivable variation – be it in the clouds, on water, or on land – with dragons, mounts, vehicles, hoverboards, ships, or wings you explore diverse areas.
Interview with Executive Producer Andrew Krausnick
Trove has grown significantly since our last interview at the start of the open beta. What do you think is the reason behind the voxel MMO becoming so popular that server capacities needed to be increased?
It’s an entertaining game that continues to evolve. People come back to look for new content and thus keep playing. There is now an incredible amount to do. You can collect over 100 mounts, run more than 150 dungeons, or you level and gear up the classes – from Dracolyte to Gunslinger. Additionally, we have enriched the game with several activities – from flying over the sky realms to gardening and fishing.
The next milestone, which will certainly bring more players, is not far off: on July 9, Trove not only celebrated its official release but also its debut on Steam. Could you imagine expanding it into a multi-platform title? The game would work well on PS4 and Xbox One, right?
[pullquote]We definitely find the idea of bringing Trove to consoles interesting[/pullquote]
We definitely find the idea of bringing Trove to consoles interesting. We are also working hard on a Mac version of the game. We plan to release this in the near future.
By the way: Are you planning to localize Trove into German as well?
The first step will be to provide the game’s text content to fans for translation. That gives us the maximum reach. Apart from that, we will always follow where the fans are, if it is not outside our capabilities.
The free-to-play model of Trove is exemplary. There are no Pay2Win accusations. Can the game remain profitable like this?
Thank you very much. It is definitely profitable. Players show great interest in the shop’s content and we will soon add more – especially those that are at the top of the wishlist – such as inventory expansions.
You can surely tell us about the best-selling items in the item shop, right?
The Chaos Chests are by far the most popular shop item. After that come the pinatas.
How did Trove actually come about, what story lies behind it?
We had great fun playing other voxel games, but as MMO players and developers, we missed the persistent online elements. So we decided to take it into our own hands!
Trove differs from its “builder game” competitors mainly because it was designed with many classic MMO elements in mind. Which features are particularly well received?
The dragons are incredibly popular. Generally, it seems to apply: the more dragons, the better. Otherwise, people love playing multiple classes and improving their characters. The cornerstones are also a popular feature, where players can realize their own home. Players can thus showcase their own style and personality in the open world. (Editor’s note: Dragons are not only flying mounts, but also companions that can be upgraded and equipped).
How fitting is the description “World of Warcraft meets Minecraft”?
I was told not to name other games, but since you’ve already done it… the [description] isn’t bad.
Last year during our conversation, you said that PvP wouldn’t fit the Trove at that time, which is why you would focus on PvE. However, recently you announced that you are starting to experiment with PvP. There has been some controversial discussions about this in the forum. What caused the change of heart?
We received a lot of feedback from players who are interested in it. When we reached the point in development where the core game was established, we had a bit of time to experiment. We will only release it when it is really ready for that. However, we are talking about a “Trove-like” time frame. What is important is that it’s fun and doesn’t come off too hardcore.
You kept your word: The contact with the community remains very intense. Hardly a question in the forum or other social networks goes unanswered. Has there been increased feedback on a particular topic that has significantly influenced further work on Trove?
We received an extremely high number of bug reports that we had to fix before the launch. We worked very hard to eliminate them. Additionally, we received plenty of feedback on the “challenges” that we are currently evaluating and improving.
Speaking of the future: What does the crystal ball say?
The future looks bright! We will continue to work on the game just as we have before. New features, content, and experiences will follow. Personally, I am particularly interested in the “Shadow Tower,” a feature we have started working on (Editor’s note: It could be a progressive raid that is opened with keys and contains unpredictable surprises and portals in the shadow dimension).
Last time, you were able to show us great creations from the community. Do you have another example of what user-generated content is possible in Trove?
The last costume set was completely designed by players and looks really fantastic. The same goes for our latest “Batch of Badge Wings,” which look great.
One more thing: What would you like to convey to those who stopped during an early beta or were unsure: What could motivate them to start anew and what has changed in recent months?
