The action MMORPG Elite Lords of Alliance (ELOA) receives the second part of the major update “The Smash” with new instances.
2 Dungeons full of problems
In Elite Lords of Alliance (ELOA), larger updates are divided into several smaller portions so that players have enough time to enjoy the different types of content. The second part of “The Smash” is now released, enriching the game with its manga aesthetics with two entirely new dungeons, each with three different difficulty levels. Depending on the mode in which the instances are approached (Beginner, Normal, Heroic), different rewards await, and the battles take a different course.
In the Spirit Flame Workroom, fire foes await, who, depending on the difficulty level, will call more or fewer minions to assist them in ruining the heroes’ day.
In Shadow of Hallucination, everything revolves around traps and poisons; players must dodge numerous turrets, spike traps, and other problems to emerge victorious from the battle.

In addition, with the patch, the system requirements for players who only have the base game and do not yet have Heavensward will change: The required disk space will increase with Patch 3.2. for Windows, Mac, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4. The file size of FF14 has grown with the numerous content updates over the years.

The upcoming MMORPG shooter Escape from Tarkov is not for players who enjoy quick successes without significant risks. Rather, the online game is aimed at hardcore gamers. Will it also come to Xbox One and PlayStation 4?
The developers at the Russian studio Battlestate Games openly state that the upcoming MMORPG shooter Escape from Tarkov is not aimed at a broad audience. They want to create a sense of realism and immersion with the game, which also includes being constantly exposed to dangers.
Death lurks everywhere in Tarkov
In an interview with nim.ru, project leader Nikita Buyanov says: “You can be killed right at the start by the bullet of a teammate or find an ammo crate that you can’t carry. Or you might discover the exit from the area and get the “Runner” status if you leave the area right away. It’s possible to shoot anyone you encounter and then loot them, only to be shot in an ambush yourself.
However, it’s also possible to explore an area quietly without firing a shot. If you’re lightly wounded at the beginning, this can lead to you bleeding out within an hour. Additionally, you can approach a complete scenario stealthily and armed only with a knife. Do you want to violently break through the defense lines of the Scavs or negotiate with them by offering a previously found briefcase full of money? All of this is just a very small glimpse of the possibilities available to players, which are influenced by many factors, including the weather, the time of day, or the partners you team up with.”
A console port and VR support are possible
Escape from Tarkov is therefore definitely a hardcore game. The developers want to initially focus on completing the PC version, from which the story mode is expected to be released this year. A console port would then be possible. The developers do not rule out support for virtual reality headsets at a later date.
The payment model will be Buy2Play – without any trace of “freemium.” They plan to release DLC for moderate prices once or twice a year.
By the way, the game will not end when you have mastered the story. In the end, some questions should remain unanswered, which could be addressed in expansions. Additionally, you can return to the areas at any time to complete side quests and uncover secrets.

The next patch of Guild Wars 2 brings gliding to Tyria. But what do you have to do for that and what restrictions are there?
Soaring high in old lands
In the next content patch, gliding, which was previously only possible in Heart of Thorns, will also be brought to the old world of Guild Wars 2. The requirement for this is quite simple: Only the start of the gliding mastery needs to be unlocked – the lowest level that also allows gliding in Maguuma.
However, there will be a flying ban in some areas. This affects all instanced areas like dungeons but also all jumping puzzles that could easily be bypassed using gliding. Other zones will also be blocked to prevent characters from falling through the world and sinking into the depths of darkness.
Gliding will soon be possible in the “old” Tyria!
However, players should not expect too much from this new feature. The old world has not been revised in any way, so there are no updrafts that would allow particularly high or far flights. Nevertheless, it will be possible to reach a few places that were previously inaccessible – at least organizers of large events or virtual scavenger hunts will greatly enjoy the enhanced mobility.
Tibia, a classic among MMORPGs, launches in 2016 with a new trailer.
Tibia advertises with “decades full of content.” What would be presumptuous for most games can be proudly claimed by the classic among MMORPGs: The title has been online since 1997. Thus, it is one of the oldest MMORPGs ever. Tibia still has some fans and players today, as we know from letters about the game and also from comments.
Even our boss Dawid took his first steps in Tibia back in the day and still raves about his glorious days in the game every now and then. Perhaps our site would not exist today if Tibia had not existed back then.
Have you had experiences with Tibia that you would like to share? Any heroic deeds to report?

However, this seems to have shifted relatively last minute. When European players now perform the ping test, they still end up in the USA.
As it turns out, Turbine has placed both US and EU servers from Boston to New Jersey. Due to “contractual obligations and logistical reasons“, it was simpler to take this step first and then see what to do next once data had been collected. Further steps are yet to be determined. This was announced by the executive producer of the game in a discussion on the Lord of the Rings Online forum.
Currently, LOTRO players are complaining about severe connection problems since the move and are far from being in good spirits.

For the new MOBA Paragon, the third open test phase takes place this weekend. Players on the Playstation 4 can also start preparing.
They want to invite 20,000 new players for the third test of Paragon on PC, the developers announced via reddit. The PC test is starting this weekend. Players on the Playstation 4 can also start getting ready – the PS4 tests will begin there “soon”.
Recently, Paragon already showcased in a video how they had expanded the game in the meantime. Now there is a Death Cam, they added a Bot mode, and some new heroes can also be seen in comparison within the video. They will show the latest changes on Friday.

Heroes of the Storm received a new hero with Greymane, and Cortyn tested him diligently and – oh wonder – is quite dissatisfied.
Because new isn’t always better
Since the night before last, the latest character Greymane in Heroes of the Storm is available. Since I had 15,000 gold saved up, I treated myself to the wild king of Gilneas right away and, after an intense study of his talents (Well, okay – 5 minutes during the waiting time), jumped straight into a handful of matches. And what can I say: Someone, please make me a Worgen, this guy isn’t much fun.
While I often thought about characters like Kael’thas, “He’s quite fragile,” Greymane takes this feeling to another level (Ha! Crown! Because king! You get it?). Although he is touted as the “great tactician” in his spotlight, his playstyle can be summed up in one sentence: “All or Nothing.” Either he wins and secures his target, or he dies trying. There is no middle ground, such as an exciting chase or a nail-biting escape.

Even though this may sound like nonsense, switching between forms simply doesn’t feel “right”. It doesn’t go smoothly, and especially switching from “Now I’m going to attack the opponent” to “Help, I prefer to roll backwards” rarely worked for me.
Blood Trail – the strangest heroic ability in the game
Another point that extremely frustrates me is his skill shots. While the “Gilnean Cocktail” is quite useful when you invest almost every single talent point into it, I find the effect of the heroic ability “Blood Trail” extremely obscure. Not only does the projectile move so slowly that you can even dodge it while walking backwards with a walker, but it also deals less damage than his normal abilities. Now one might say, “But the target suffers 25% more damage for several seconds,” and that is indeed correct. But such an effect already exists in the game! Tyrande has it – as her passive ability “Mark of the Hunter,” every 20 seconds.
Looks cooler in the picture than in the game – Greymane isn’t much fun, at least according to Cortyn.
“But you can jump on the target for up to 5 seconds!” one might still argue. Sure, one could. But after a brief thought: Enemies know that too. Whoever gets hit by the projectile just stands in the middle of his allies. When the Worgen jumps in, he falls faster than he can send one last howl to the moon.
It’s not you, darling little Worgen, it’s me … or is it?
Maybe it’s simply because I have played relatively control-oriented heroes like Zagara, Abathur, and Kael’thas, but Greymane feels fragile. Fragile is even the wrong word, he just feels useless. In matches without a healer, the king of the Worgen might as well sit in the corner crying – at least when I control him. I find him even more boring and worse than Lunara, who is currently considered the weakest character in the game among professionals. Greymane can switch forms, and that’s it.
He looks impressive when switching back and forth. Other than that, numerous characters do it better. He deals less damage, falls in three seconds just by being looked at, and has no self-healing abilities. And there’s one more thing he simply can’t do: provide fun.
I may be wrong in this assessment, and it just takes a few weeks before I rage with Greymane on the battlefields – but so far, it doesn’t look like it.

The space simulations Elite:Dangerous has now revealed its sales figures, and they are impressive.
As reported by vg247, Elite:Dangerous has sold 1.4 million units across all platforms. These are indeed the “sold games.” The number does not include free activations or similar.
Elite:Dangerous was released in December 2014, came to Steam in April, and later also to Xbox One.
The average playtime of a player of Elite:Dangerous is 60 hours. In total, 84 million hours have been played.

A school in Bergen, Norway, plans to include eSports in the curriculum. Starting in August, 30 students will receive 5 hours of eSports lessons per week for three years. And this will be under conditions that can only be described as luxurious.
But those who think: 5 hours a week of gaming – Great, that makes the transition from school to my everyday life easier! It’s not quite like that. It will not be “normal gaming”, but eSports, and that comes with more commitments.
The curriculum for 30 participants also includes physical training sessions to train reflexes, strength, and endurance. While 15 players are gaming, the other 15 work on their physical fitness. It is also planned to provide the students with nutrition tips and advise them on the lifestyle of eSports athletes. The goal is for them to be able to play at a high level for longer and with more concentration. Other schools have included yoga as a balance in their programs.
They actually also have a trailer:

There will also be evaluations: The students will be assessed based on their performance, skills, game knowledge, communication and teamwork abilities, and tactical skills. It is seen as an educational task to teach players not only mechanics but also to work as a team and achieve success.
There will be a special room for the gamers with 15 gaming chairs from the brand AKRacing and high-performance PCs with G-Sync monitors and an i7 980 setup. That’s the really good stuff.
The students are encouraged to bring their own mice, keyboards, and headsets – everyone has their own taste – and you definitely don’t want to have someone else’s saliva on your headset.
The school administration is not quite sure what games the students will play in the first year of the three-year program. Early favorites are Dota 2, LoL; CS:GO, or Starcraft 2. The students will be able to help decide which games will actually be offered through a survey.
It is also not yet clear who will be the coaches for the program. But the selection process looks “very good” at the moment. The teachers chosen will have a “deep knowledge” of the games. Currently, the plan is: To have one “fixed” teacher per class and then connect Norwegian eSports professionals via Skype to benefit from their experience.
By the way, it was not a big deal for the school to offer eSports. They already had programs for handball and football – and the regulations for this were formulated in such a way that they could also accommodate eSports without needing to get a special “okay” from the government.
The school’s plan is to form teams with the students that will succeed in the Norwegian eSports scene and participate in local tournaments.

In the MMO shooter Destiny , a journalist claims to have found clues about Mercury being a new planet.
Tom Phillips from Eurogamer believes he is onto something big. The occasion is the emblem, which everyone recently pulled out of their iPads with little enthusiasm. This is the emblem “Rising Light.” Phillips believes there is a hint about the future of Destiny hidden here. The emblem shows the peak of a Vex architecture on Mercury – in front of the image of a massive, nearby sun.
For Phillips, Mercury as a new location just makes sense. After all, the planet was part of the original vision of Destiny – back then Osiris, who was based there, played a much more important role. At the moment, there are only a few PvP maps and the Lighthouse in the Trials of Osiris on Mercury. But the innermost planet of our solar system is, for Phillips, a logical addition to the Destiny universe.
Mercury also played an important role in a now-deleted post on reddit. Back then, someone proposed several theses, a few of which turned out to be true, like the new voice of the Ghost and that they would stop releasing smaller DLCs.
For a long time, Riot Games had planned changes to the League of Legends (LOL) champion Shen – and now they are finally confirmed.
The ninja, who has recently mainly been played as support, not only receives a visual update but also an update to his abilities. For example, he now has a Ki Blade that he can control using his abilities.
These are Shen’s updated abilities in LoL
Passive: Ki Barrier
After using an ability, Shen receives a shield. This shield has a long cooldown if the ability cast did not hit an enemy or allied champion.
Q: Shadow Strike
Shen calls his spirit blade to him. This causes the next 3 basic attacks to deal damage equal to the target’s max health. If the spirit blade collides with an enemy champion moving towards Shen, Shen deals increased damage and gains significantly increased attack speed. If enemies move away from Shen and collide with the spirit blade, their movement speed is reduced for a short time.
Brief explanation: The spirit blade
spawns at the beginning of the game and on respawn next to Shen
de-spawns upon death
appears at Shen’s location when using a global teleport in LoL (Shen Ultimate, Tahm Ultimate, Recall (B), etc.)
appears near Shen (but still far away) when he moves far from the blade (off-screen)
The Q ability turns the blade into a “homing missile” that lands on the ground next to Shen when it reaches him.
W: Spirit’s Refuge
A protective barrier surrounds the spirit blade, allowing Shen and allied champions to dodge all basic attacks nearby (Yes, you read that right!). The ability is only triggered when an allied champion is within the ability’s area. If not, the ability is delayed until an ally enters the area.
E: Shadow Dash
Passive: When Shen deals damage with his Q or E ability, he receives a fixed amount of energy back.
Active: As is currently the case, Shen dashes in a specified direction, dealing damage to all champions he hits and taunting them briefly.
R: Stand United
There is no major change here either. Shen teleports, with a delay, to an allied target and gives the selected ally a shield. The new aspect is that he also brings his spirit blade along.
Overall, Shen’s playstyle has remained relatively loyal. His combat options have been adapted to the game so that the laning phase and later skirmishes are not as “bland” as they used to be. Because, let’s be honest… he wasn’t really a “true ninja” before. Whether the updated abilities will change that, we will see in the future.
His various skins have also been adjusted:
On the PBE servers of LoL, you can soon test how the new Shen plays. Let us know – Do you think the update is more “Yay” or “Nay”?
The next completelyreworked champion will be not a ninja.

The alpha test of World of Warcraft: Legion starts today in the next round. What content awaits the testers?
WoW: Legion – New content in the new year
For Blizzard fans who enjoy dabbling in various game betas, the Christmas season was not a celebration of joy. Not only was Overwatch taken offline over the holidays, but World of Warcraft: Legion also went into hibernation and shut down the test servers.
What else is happening on the broken isles? Soon the testers will find out.
Now the MMORPG is back and will restart the test servers today. At the same time, a completely new build is to be deployed, presenting new content of the expansion to be tested.

While there are still no statements about what exactly the latest version will contain, it is likely that there will be at least one new quest area and the implementation of additional specializations. Many classes have had to go to the broken isles with only one or two specializations, while the rest were still in development.
There are some changes to the ZEN market of the MMORPG Neverwinter. The fashion items have been removed.
Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios are currently working on larger changes to the ZEN market, which finances the MMORPG Neverwinter. One of the changes has now been implemented, as it is no longer possible to purchase fashion items through it.
Fashion is now bought differently
Instead, these in-game items can now be purchased in the Tarmalune Trade Bar Store for trade bars. Here is a list of the changes:
All fashion, dye bottles, and dye packs will be removed from the ZEN market.
The Air Elemental Cultist Pack will be removed from the ZEN market. The Air Elemental Cultist companion can still be purchased individually.
The appearance change is still available in the services category.
A complicated simplification
The reason for this change is that they want to simplify the system. For many players, it is a difficult decision whether to buy fashion items or items that serve convenience. Therefore, they wanted to make purchasing fashion items more interesting. The fashion items will now have more uniform prices, and you will pay nearly the same in Lockbox keys as you would have for the individual items in the ZEN market.
The difference is that you now additionally find more bonus items in the chests. So you get more for your money – not just the fashion items you wanted to buy, but also additional surprises.
The players’ reactions to this change are not particularly positive. Because now you have to buy the trade bars with real money in the ZEN shop, purchase the lockboxes for those, to then access the fashion items. It doesn’t sound very much like a simplification…

In FIFA 16: FUT, starting at 7 PM, the midfield of the Team of the Year (TOTY) is available. Here are the player ratings!
This week in FIFA 16 is the Team of the Year week. On Monday, the player ratings of the goalkeeper and defenders were already revealed. Today, the three midfielders are up. They are expected to be available starting at 7 PM our time in gold and promo packs. Let’s take a look.
Luca Modrić (CM):
Previously, Luca Modrić had an overall rating of 87. He receives a boost of 6 points.
Paul Pogba (CM):
Pogba previously had an overall rating of 86. Now he boasts physicality (94!) with an overall rating of 93.
Andrés Iniesta (CM):
With an overall of 95, Iniesta-TOTY will certainly be highly sought after. Iniesta previously had an overall rating of 88, with his in-form card even at 89. This card was previously, together with the in-form Mesut Özil (also 89), the strongest in central midfield.
The entire TOTY midfield consists of central midfielders (CMs). Only with this position can they be pulled in packs. Of course, there is the option later to adjust them with position change cards as desired.
Almost seems insignificant during the TOTY week, the TOTW, meaning Team of the Week. But even here there are some players that the hardcore FIFA player is drooling over. Like every Wednesday evening, it appears today and is also available in packs starting at 7 PM.
This week’s highlights are undoubtedly Gareth Bale (overall 89, with incredible stats in pace, shot, and dribbling), a very clinical Higuain (overall 87), and the strong center-back Godin (89).
What do you think of the TOTY midfield now?

In the MMO shooter Destiny , fan pages and YouTube channels surged in the first year. The current content drought is hard on them.
In 2015, English-speaking fan sites like Planet Destiny, the YouTuber Datto, and MoreConsole greatly benefited from the rise of Destiny. Subscription numbers and views skyrocketed over the year, page views went up, and surely so did the revenue. The peak for most was the release of “Taken King” last September and the weeks that followed. Now, there hasn’t been anything really new in the world of Destiny for several months, and the content creators, the companions of Destiny, notice this.
Datto, one of the most well-known YouTubers, laments on Twitter, “Is anyone else having so many problems delivering content, or is it just me?”
Can I get a Destiny YTer check in: anyone else stressing the hell out about making content or is it just me?
And the cream of the crop of the Destiny fandom groans along: “No, we feel the same.”
The exotic specialist aWryShark, who discusses exotic items for Planet Destiny, says: “Well, right now everything over 500 words feels like a root canal at the dentist.”
Mr. Fruit, another popular Destiny YouTuber, advises: “The more obscure, the better.”
YouTuber Wiizite says: “That’s why I started covering other games months ago.”
Holtzman, one of the key people at Planet Destiny, and YouTuber My Name is Biff grumble: “No, it’s not just you.”
Others complain that revenue has been suffering greatly lately. YouTuber MoreConsole summarizes the mood: “So, right now every Destiny YouTuber is totally screwed.”
@DattosDestiny Nope, I think pretty much every Destiny youtuber is totes fucked at the mo.
It seems that dark times prevail at the moment for those who became popular with Destiny. Datto’s response to the current content drought will likely resonate with many players: “Right now I’m just waiting for the Division beta to finally start.”
As players, one can and should just play something else during a boring phase. However, when you’re professionally tied to a game, the situation is not so simple. Not all “normal players” are likely to feel sympathy for the YouTubers either.

If you are a fan of wings and horns and play Diablo 3, you might want a new bonus from World of Warcraft…
Putting horns on someone…
Blizzard is known for connecting its various games. For example, there are rewards for World of Warcraft when you play a few rounds of Hearthstone or special cosmetics when you buy certain versions of a game. For the next expansion of World of Warcraft: Legion, they have now increased the number of available goodies. At least if you decide to purchase the “Digital Deluxe Edition.”
If you have secured such a version – or plan to do so in the coming months – you will enjoy a new “Demon Hunter’s Helm” while playing Diablo 3, showcasing the horns known from Illidan Stormrage. Together with the “Wings of the Betrayer,” this creates a rather decent imitation of the demon-hunting heroes from Warcraft.
The military MMO World of Tanks will be released in less than a week on the Playstation 4.
This was quite quick, the second beta weekend was the last. On January 19, World of Tanks will be released on the Playstation 4 (PS4) worldwide. This was announced by Wargaming. The Playstation 4 version is not simply a port, but is specifically optimized for the system and will run more smoothly than the PC version, which is optimized for many systems.
To kick off, there are a whole host of bonuses and special rewards for players. Those who log in before the end of the month will receive the American T1E6-PS. This will no longer be available after January 31.
World of Tanks will also be free to play on the Playstation 4: Playstation Plus is not required. However, players who are PS Plus subscribers will receive some benefits, beginning with the exclusive German Pz. Kpfw. II Ausf. J-PS.
Players of Devilian get new incentives to log in – active players receive mysterious gifts.
Mysterious Gifts
The developers of Devilian are already quite skilled at giving players incentives to spend at least a few minutes in the game every day. During the period from January 11 to January 25, this will be increased even further. Because every day, “special rewards” await the players that they can claim during this time. Anyone who already has a level 50 character should log in at least once between January 13 and January 19. High-level heroes will receive an additional bonus that can only be redeemed once.
40 Men in Battle
But January has even more in store. Devilian will finally open the gates for large 20v20 battles, which will come with the patch around the middle of the month. Each week, there will be a final tournament in which the 4 best guilds of the server will compete against each other for special rewards.
In a few weeks, the first major update since the launch of Heart of Thorns for Guild Wars 2 is coming. We will tell you what new features there will be.
A major update per quarter
For Guild Wars 2, a kind of roadmap has finally been presented for the time after the expansion, revealing how the year will progress. The biggest change is likely the introduction of quarterly patches, which are somewhat grandiosely referred to as “significant quarterly updates.” The first of these major updates is expected to occur on January 26. Although the developers want to reveal many more details within the next 14 days, a rough overview has already been presented.
Gliding is coming to Central Tyria! With the purchase of the mastery skill, it will soon be possible to take out the glider and soar through the air in the “old world” as well.
The Shatterer in the Dragon’s stand will be polished. The battle is supposed to become more challenging and offer numerous new rewards. Along with this comes a new achievement category that even tempts players with a fancy new back item.
Comfort improvements are coming for the Fractals of the Mist. From now on, there will be a small control panel at the entrance of each of the small instances where the difficulty can be adjusted. It is no longer necessary to leave the fractal to modify the difficulty.
Supports can breathe a sigh of relief! After they have always drawn the short straw in events since performance was only based on damage dealt, supporters will now receive appropriate rewards as well. Those who heal, bless, remove conditions, and assist allies will receive participation points in events. However, one should still hit the boss or targets at least once to appear on the list.
Some changes to the WvW battles should also help smaller groups to prevail. Now, only 1 player can recover from the downed state by killing an opponent instead of the previous 5 players. Defeated players can no longer be revived during a fight – they must either wait until the battle is over or respawn at the next way point.
Besides these highlights, there are many other small details, such as a new champion of the mist, Tybald Leftprank, a brewery opening its doors, new guild decorations being added, and more interface options made available for control.
Events in Spring – Lunar New Year, Raid, PvP League 2
Spring 2016 still has some other highlights, which the developers briefly touch upon.
Players can participate again in the Lunar New Year event starting January 26, celebrated for 2 weeks (until February 9) in Divinity’s Reach. The celebration has been updated and comes with new rewards.
Finally, the next area of the raid will also open its doors. Players can continue their investigation into the dark forces responsible for several incidents in the Maguuma Jungle. Although there is no fixed release date for the “Salvation Pass,” the developers want to keep us updated.
What’s coming this year?
Alongside all this information, there is already a glance into the future, discussing what other innovations 2016 will bring to Tyria.
Without wanting to spoil too much, the story of GW2 will continue in a new season of the Living World and seamlessly connect to the events of Heart of Thorns.
Fractals will receive further improvements, such as the promised leaderboards, legendary fractal backpacks, and completely new fractals.
Also on the agenda is the major WvW update, in which the core mechanics of victory conditions, such as population balance, points, rewards, and support will be addressed.
There is still no date for these changes. They are expected to be released “sometime in 2016,” i.e., in the second, third, or even fourth quarter update of the year.
