Maintenance work is taking place today, February 24, for the Asia MMO Blade and Soul. When will the game be available again, when can Blade and Soul be played?
Since 1:00 PM today, the servers for Blade and Soul have been offline. Maintenance work is underway. The targeted time for the Free2Play MMORPG to be back online is 5:00 PM. In such cases, the Asia MMORPG has given the somewhat quirky message: “When the game becomes available, restart the launcher.”
The maintenance work is not introducing any major changes. The Valentine’s Day event is ending – however, the red and white roses can be redeemed until March 1. Additionally, new skill descriptions in German have been completed and will go live now.
Just yesterday, we reported on a Q&A session with the developers on Reddit. There was a lot of current information, including an explanation of why patches are always applied during “peak times” in Europe:
An Alpha gameplay trailer has been released for the multiplayer space shooter EVE: Valkyrie. This is full of space action and praise for the upcoming VR game.
CCP Games has recently released a new trailer for EVE: Valkyrie. This is intended to entice players for the upcoming VR game: You will need an Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, or HTC Vive for your Valkyrie experience.
The trailer is rather short, but it provides a nice insight into the alpha version of the game. Quite modestly, the trailer begins with the statement that the dawn of the VR revolution is upon us. It follows with frantic and fast-paced scenes, where a lot flies into the air. Just beautiful space action.
A quote or two is also displayed, praising the game. Ben Kuchera from Polygon says it is breathtaking every time. William Schwartz (Attack of the Fanboy) considers it beautiful and immersive, and Andy Keller (PC Gamer) says:
„Absolutely exhilarating“
The developers of Valkyrie state that the game was built from the ground up with the latest technology for VR and that it is the most intuitive, intense, and realistic dogfighting game that has ever been available cross-platform.

As Bethesda announces, the shooter classic Doom will come uncensored to Germany. The USK has granted a rating of 18 (“No Youth Release”).
In a press release from Bethesda, it was announced that Doom will be released in Germany in the uncensored version. The USK has rated the game with the label “No Youth Release”. It can be sold without restrictions to adult players.
The new Doom will include multiplayer deathmatches, relentless demons, and a variety of destructive weapons that you can use to bloodily eliminate your opponents. The shooter featured countless extremely brutal scenes in previous trailers, which is why an uncensored release in Germany was by no means a given. However, if desired, German gamers can also access the English original version.

In this year’s winter transfers, China has made enormous investments in the transfer market. What implications does this have for football and the FIFA series?
China is a country of superlatives. This cannot be disputed. 1.37 billion inhabitants live in the most populous country on Earth. Furthermore, it has risen to become the second-largest economic power in recent decades. And now, the People’s Republic is investing money in football. A lot of money.
China is investing heavily in football
The President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, wants to do something about the backward football conditions in his country and transform it into the largest football superpower. This modest undertaking can only be realized with astronomical investments, as China has a rather short history in football.
One important step toward becoming a football superpower is to make Chinese football interesting for a large audience. Football enthusiasts need to turn their attention to China first. The Chinese could build some fancy stadiums or offer the cheapest ticket prices ever – but nothing seems as efficient as attracting world-class players to the country. With money. A lot of money.
During this winter transfer period, Chinese clubs have invested more money than ever before and struck some mega-deals. For Alex Teixeira, Jackson Martinez, Ramires, Gervinho, Demba Ba, Fredy Guarín, and Paulinho, a total of 170 million euros has been spent. And this is just the beginning. It can be expected that a considerable amount of money will be spent during the summer transfer window as well.
The Chinese Super League is steadily gaining fans and national and international recognition. Transfers like Messi or Ronaldo would catapult the league into the spotlight of football. Rumors about this already exist. So far, not much has been heard about “Financial Fair Play” in China.
What impact does this have on FIFA 16: FUT?
Every winter, EA Sports transfers those players in Ultimate Team mode to their new clubs who also switch clubs in the real football world. After all, the football simulation needs to stay up to date.
However, the problem with these winter transfers is this: When a player moves to a league for which EA does not have a license, the player disappears from the packs. He can no longer be drawn. And the Chinese Super League is not included in FIFA 16. In other words: All players who move to China cannot appear in the sets anymore.
This is not too dramatic in FIFA 16, as these players are still available as cards with their old clubs and can be purchased on the transfer market. In FIFA 17, the upcoming installment of the FIFA series, this will look quite different.
FIFA 17 without some world-class players?
FIFA 17 could spoil the mood for players without players like Ramires, a true beast in midfield (especially in terms of pace). After all, console athletes want to play with their favorite players. That is precisely the unique selling point of the football simulation from EA Sports.
One does not need to be a prophet to predict that the Super League will be in high demand. EA will probably also know that they need to acquire the licenses for this league to keep FIFA fans engaged.
However, considering China’s promotion plans, it can even be assumed that this could be the easiest negotiation between them and a league for EA: It would not be surprising if China even pays EA to have EA Sports include the Super League in FIFA 17. Because this would further increase the visibility of their league.
https://youtu.be/AfeDwkIaHNY
Money rules the world. That’s just how it is. And in China, there is a lot of it waiting to be invested in football. So it would not be surprising if there are some deals between EA and China: New features, like a specific Super League TOTY, or that young Chinese footballers become the new wonder kids in the game, are not out of the question. Because EA has never been known to turn down money.
What do you think about the developments and efforts in football in China? How could this impact the FIFA series in your opinion?
The launch of The Division is getting closer. This gameplay video of a new mission helps to shorten the waiting time.
During the recent open beta, we all got a glimpse of Ubisoft’s upcoming MMO shooter. A new video shows footage of a previously unknown mission that we want to take a closer look at. In it, we discover a lot that we can expect in the final version of the game.
What is this mission about?
This mission is designed for agents at level 20. The goal is to take over a building that is occupied by Rikers and features the inscription “Rikers Castle” above the entrance. You need to clear this building of enemy presence and secure hostages. Action-packed battles occur even before arriving at the building.
Then, you infiltrate the “Rikers Castle” and search for the hostages. Now, very intense scenes unfold: a hostage is shot right before your eyes as the agents delve deeper. Bitter confrontations follow. Subsequently, the remaining hostages must be located.
You enter a room where a bloody massacre has clearly taken place: corpses are scattered everywhere, which the agents investigate. This allows you to piece together what has happened in this place: you hear voices and statements from some hostages and criminals in flashbacks, painting a horrific picture of violence.
It is revealed that the Rikers played macabre games: “10 points if you hit his arm,” after which a scream pierces through you. Another hostage pleaded for mercy just before his death, appealing to the criminals’ compassion: he had a family. However, the Riker remained unfazed by this. The outcome of this conversation lies before us on the floor.
These are very intense scenes that The Division presents to us, truly not for the faint-hearted. This mission is marked by horrific violence and numerous expletives, which should be noted before you wish to watch the video at the end of the article.
The mission then leads us to the rooftop of the building, where a hostage can be freed. Now, it is a matter of eliminating masses of Rikers. After that, the agents must reach and open a door for JTF support, which they succeed in doing. The final battle against the boss now takes place in the main hall.
In the end, a boss fight awaits
In the boss fight, which lasts a few minutes, you face Larae Barrett, who takes several bullets before finally going down. He has a thick shield that is always displayed at the top of the screen. You must first take it down. Of course, many weaker enemies also try to make your life difficult, but ultimately the agents carry the victory. You can see how the fight goes down in the video starting at 13:53.
During the fight in the main hall, a hint about named enemies pops up – those who have a name. These are elite opponents with stronger weapons and equipment. They are the most dangerous foes but can drop the best loot.
Adjust your equipment with gear mods
The video also contains a hint that there will be gear mod slots. A picture shows an integrated weapon mod.
Furthermore, this footage reveals a hint about an empty gear mod slot. It states that one of the used equipment parts can be modified. This can be done by going into the inventory, selecting an equipment piece and a gear mod slot, and then pressing x to modify the piece.
Equipment modifications can enhance your core attributes and skills. You can find them as loot or purchase them from vendors. They can also be crafted.
What do we take away from this mission?
In conclusion, it remains clear that this mission is another proof that The Division will deliver an extraordinary gaming experience with intense scenes that is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
Moreover, the footage suggests that we have not seen much of this game yet, even though we have already spent hours in the beta. Additionally, gear mod slots will provide for individual equipment and allow for extensive customization progression in the player experience.
Here is the gameplay video:

Once again it’s Wednesday and… oh, let’s skip the whole introduction part. You know what usually goes here. I’ve been immersing myself in Overwatch for the past few weeks, landing a few headshots (and receiving them… much more receiving!) and, in the process, I’ve fallen in love with a character I never thought I would. But I’ll discuss my favorite hero Roadhog elsewhere. Today I want to rant a bit about the reward system currently in Overwatch. Don’t know what that is? Then taking a look at this article could help.
Blizzard has long thought about a progression system for Overwatch and had set some goals that they definitely wanted to implement. The two biggest points were probably:
The progression should be purely cosmetic and not provide any advantages.
The progression should not force anyone into a particular character.
At first glance, one might say that the current system has indeed succeeded in this regard. There are really no advantages from the system, but I seriously doubt the second point. Why? Quite simply! While it makes no difference which character you play for unlocking loot boxes, the reason for my complaint is another.
The rewards are completely random. I am probably among the testers who had extraordinarily bad luck when opening boxes; I have only received a stylish skin once. What does that lead to when I’ve received exactly one skin that I like? You guessed it. I play exactly this character because with him I can look “cool” and “special”, while all other heroes look just “ordinary”.
They wanted to avoid having players use certain characters to unlock things, but now they have just “saddled the horse from behind”.
Now, I’m usually a bit success-oriented and I like to sacrifice my role (*cough* whoever believes that…) to play something that helps the group more – but many players do not do that and feel similarly. “Unfortunately, I only have a skin for Widowmaker” they say in chat – and then they continue to play Widowmaker, even when they are in the attacking team, overloaded with three snipers.
What do you think? Is the current system fun and does it serve its purpose? Or does Blizzard need to tweak it further?

In the MMO shooter Destiny , Banshee has the automatic rifle Arminius-D for Weapon Day on February 24.
It’s worth gathering reputation with Banshee-44, the Gunsmith. This unlocks various exotic weapons and he takes orders for legendary weapons every week. We will look into his offerings this week in this article.
These are the test weapons in Destiny this time
With these 5 weapons, you can gain points with Banshee and earn reputation:
With a fusion rifle from Omolon, you should take down Vex Minotaurs.
With another fusion rifle from Omolon, it’s into the Crucible.
A pulse rifle from Suros should be used against Hive targets.
The rocket launcher from Suros is drawn to the Crucible.
The shotgun from Häkke wants to collect Crucible kills.
The hand cannon Gaheris-D is more for enthusiasts. You don’t see many hand cannons these days. But the Gaheris with high damage is not bad either. However, it suffers from low range and a small magazine.
The shotgun Strongbow-D seems to be a regular offering from Banshee-44 almost every week. It’s quite mediocre.
The sniper rifle Uzume RR4 faces strong competition from the Eirene. It’s not in high demand.
Recommendations for this week:The Arminius-D and Tuonela are both really good weapons that can achieve outstanding performance with great perks.
These are notable rolls this week
This weapon could at least be worth considering this week:
It looks like there is a strong roll for the scout rifle Suros Dis-43. Perfect balance, fully automatic, and hand-laid stock. Scholars argue whether fully automatic scouts are worth it. Not everyone is into that.
In this video, you can see the 5 weapons that were available last week, with the rolls: Suros Ari 41 (Perfect Balance, Hand-laid Stock, Hip Fire – okay), Suros Dis 43 (see above – good), Cocytus SR4, Uzume RR4, Tamar-D. The two rocket launchers and their rolls are also shown:

In Star Wars: The Old Republic there are first hints at a server merger. We have gathered all known details for you.
SWTOR soon on mega servers?
The data miners from the website TOR Community have extracted some interesting information from the game data, which leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Currently, it seems that PvP and PvE servers are to be replaced by so-called “PvP and PvE instances”. This is a term you find in many other games that use mega server technology.
According to the extracted in-game messages (which players would receive when switching instances), it is indicated that players can freely switch between PvP and PvE instances, depending on their mood. It seems that SWTOR is about to fundamentally change its server structure.
This theory is further fueled by the fact that a change is expected in how players can name their characters. Names will soon be allowed to contain spaces and consist of multiple words. This will require adjustments to several other systems, as whispering will also need to be modified in its current form.
The mentioned changes are expected to be introduced with patch 4.3.
Whether this will actually happen or if it is just a rumor remains to be seen.
Blizzard plans to shake things up in Hearthstone with the introduction of the “Standard” mode. We have gathered the goals and plans mentioned so far for you.
Fewer expansions, more balancing adjustments
A few days ago, we talked about the meeting of the Hearthstone elite with the game developers. While four expansions were released last year, alternating an adventure and a card set, changes are planned for the near future. In 2016, there should only be “three expansions”: one at the beginning, a card set, then an adventure in the summer, and another card set by the end of the year. This cadence is intended to be maintained for now to see “how it feels”.
Alongside the next expansion, the new “Standard” game mode will also be introduced, which will only allow certain card sets. This is intended to give newcomers the chance to catch up faster and keep the meta exciting. Blizzard states that “the transition to Standard may happen a bit early, but they don’t want to wait until they miss the right timing.”
With the introduction of “Standard”, many “old” cards from the Basic and Classic sets are also set to be revised. A few examples have already been mentioned that could greatly influence the course of a match.
The Knife Juggler will likely be nerfed. Especially in Rush decks with many minions, their effect occurs too frequently.
The Leper Gnome is also on the list. “If they could, they would put 30 Leper Gnomes in a Rush deck.”
For Druids, they are focusing on the Keeper of the Grove, Ancient of Lore, and the feared “Nature’s Wrath + Wild Roar” combo. Nerfs are also expected here.
The Knife Juggler is on the hit list.
However, there are no concrete plans regarding the changes yet. We will keep you updated as soon as Blizzard releases details on this.
Paragon releases new videos about the heroes Gideon and Feng Mao, a cunning mage and a monstrous warrior – check them out here!
The makers of Paragon, the upcoming action MOBA with stunning graphics, have been releasing more and more information about the individual characters that will be available in recent weeks. Today, it’s Gideon’s turn, who delivers a proper sermon to his enemies in his “Gameplay Highlights” video. With powerful spells, the skilled mage throws himself around and often likes to shatter a boulder or two over the heads of his opponents, which often has devastating effects. Alternatively, he escapes through created portals to evade precarious situations or to pursue an enemy.
In addition to Gideon, Paragon also introduces the melee fighter Feng Mao. He promises a significantly different gameplay experience with his long axe compared to Gideon.

„Outer Rim“ will feature new content, maps, weapons, heroes, and a brand-new mode. With Outer Rim, players will be able to fight in the factories on Sullust and carve their way through Jabba the Hutt’s palace – these are the new details about the DLC.
Players are not completely super-happy yet, as there are two different Ghosts and a 50/50 chance of which one you get (there is only one Ghost shell per account), but at least they are a bit more satisfied than usual.
Furthermore, the February Iron Banner began at 7:00 PM. Lord Saladin is back in the Tower, and the mode being played is Clash. We will delve into the details of the rewards and what perks the weapons have tomorrow. Just to say: Some are already raving about it. But they always do. Here’s a post with the general rewards again.
By the way, the Iron Banner is supposed to be “lag-free” this week. They are using the “new and improved” matchmaking that ran over the weekend in Control. There is a strong emphasis on connection quality. The damage referee, which disadvantages lagging players, is also active.
Which Ghost did you get, and is it the one you wanted? And how are your experiences in the Iron Banner? Do you notice a difference compared to before, or do you feel Bungie is just giving out Smarties instead of real medicine?

The Asia MMORPG Blade and Soul will find other ways to deal with cheaters.
On reddit, there was a large Q&A session with the developers of Blade and Soul. A sensitive topic: “Gameguard”, the controversial protection of the game against manipulative interventions.
Here, NCSoft has assured that even though they temporarily disabled it, they still regularly catch wrongdoers: “This is not the only tool we have in the box. We also use other tools and made a breakthrough last week, banning many of the well-known cheaters.”
Other topics:
For costumes, you will be able to design your own as well as import those from other regions.
Maintenance times for the servers will likely remain unfavorable for Europeans. The EU servers will have to be maintained together with the US servers. This requires the structure.
In the long term, they are working on a server transfer system. This is a new feature for Blade and Soul and will require quite a bit of work. So it won’t be ready anytime soon. There are no plans for a server transfer across the ocean from EU to NA.

The upcoming MMO No Man’s Sky will take you to a universe where almost realistic physics is used.
No Man’s Sky offers a vast universe that is so large that you rarely encounter other players, and all star systems can never be explored during your lifetime. It’s clear that this huge universe is not created by hand. It is procedurally generated by a random number generator that outputs the same numbers for all players. This means that all players will visit the same worlds, even though they are actually randomly generated. <
Physically correct?
Now the developers spoke about the physics in the game. No Man’s Sky is supposed to be as physically correct as possible – with some exceptions. For example, the day and night cycles of the worlds are calculated based on the actual physically computed orbits around the sun as well as the self-rotation of the planets. This means there will be no typical skybox in the game. All celestial bodies you see are also real planets or moons. However, one does not always strictly adhere to correct physics.
The laws of physics are broken!
For certain aesthetic reasons, the laws of physics are slightly adjusted for No Man’s Sky. For example, one wanted to have a green sky for certain worlds. However, this meant that the physics of atmospheric scattering had to be slightly adjusted. Additionally, they wanted moons closer to the planets and had to alter their orbit. This orbit would be impossible according to the laws of physics. Basically, one can say that one adheres to the laws of physics as much as possible, unless one wants to enhance the game’s visuals a bit.
On PC, the download size is 1,352 megabytes, and on PS4, it is 1,555 MB. As usual for FF14, this is a “comprehensive” patch: All possible aspects of the game receive new features and levels. The main story and raids continue, new side quests are added, Hildibrand returns, a mentor system is introduced, PvP gets a new mode, and much more.
This voluminous trailer provides a good overview.

With the launch of the western Black Desert , Western players are finally no longer welcome in the Korean version.
As Daum announces in a letter, with the launch of the western version of Black Desert, all “overseas” IPs will be blocked in the Korean version.
These news were already reported a few months ago. Now it is said that they will add “another set of foreign IPs” to the pool of blocked addresses. Players with such blocked IPs will no longer be able to start the game via the Korean website.
They apologize to those who play Black Desert outside of Korea, but the measure is necessary to ensure a smooth operation for “global users”.

Xul, the Necromancer from the Diablo universe, will be the next hero in Heroes of the Storm. We take a first look at his abilities.
Xul the Necromancer – A Classic from Diablo 2
After Li-Ming had a strong start in Heroes of the Storm, it is slowly time to talk about the next hero arriving in the Nexus. The Necromancer Xul originates from Diablo 2, and as befits a proper summoner, he brings numerous skeletons and other unholy deeds to the Nexus. Let’s take a look at his abilities:
The passive ability Raise Skeleton creates skeletons from fallen enemy minions that fight for Xul for 15 seconds. A maximum of 4 skeletons can be active at the same time.
With Bone Armor, he receives a shield for 3 seconds equal to 25% of his maximum health.
Spectral Scythe is summoned at a target location and moves toward the hero after a short delay, damaging all enemies in its path. This is essentially a “reverse” skill shot.
The Cursed Strikes grant Xul’s basic attacks an area-of-effect “Cleave” that also reduces enemy heroes’ attack speed by 50% for 2 seconds.
The Bone Prison roots the targeted hero in place for 2 seconds after a 2-second delay.
The first heroic ability Poison Nova fires toxic projectiles after a short delay, inflicting massive poison damage to all affected enemies over 10 seconds.
The second heroic ability Skeletal Mages summons 4 undead mages in a straight line that attack nearby enemies and slow them by 30% for 2 seconds. The mages last for up to 15 seconds.
There has been extensive discussion about the Necromancer’s talents as well. At least at first glance, there seem to be several talent distributions for Xul that appear quite reasonable. He can either focus entirely on his skeleton army and relentlessly push lanes, or he can become a feared assassin who is always in close combat. Finally, he can also massively increase his own survivability and thus simply “outlive” enemy heroes, while they have to retreat battered.
There is no exact release date for Xul yet. We will keep you updated as soon as his spotlight video is released.
Update: Blizzard has now confirmed his release date. He will arrive in the Nexus next week, at the beginning of March.
Wargaming is currently facing some criticism from the community of the online game World of Tanks as the company seems to be ineffective in dealing with so-called “Rigging.”
With the update 0.9.12, Wargaming introduced the new tank T-22. This can be obtained by mastering a series of particularly difficult missions. Naturally, many want to have this tank, as the online game also appeals to the collecting aspect and furthermore, the tanks allow for new tactics and strategies.
Wargaming against Cheaters
However, the missions through which one can obtain the T-22 are very difficult. So difficult that some gamers resort to so-called “Rigging.” In this, teams coordinate with the opposing team, making it easier to complete the missions. “Rigging” is reportedly forbidden by Wargaming, which is why the company takes action against those who resort to this method.
However, many WoT fans express disappointment over how Wargaming is dealing with the situation. Because a script is used that automatically identifies players who have accepted the T-22 as a reward. However, the script allegedly cannot differentiate between someone who has lawfully or unlawfully acquired the tank.
Is Wargaming acting fairly?
Additionally, those who engage in “Rigging” but do not receive or accept the tank are not punished. This has led to strong criticism. However, Wargaming explains that the script has been intensively tested and that unjustified “bans” of players can actually be ruled out.
They will not speak about how the script works to prevent cheaters from finding a way to bypass it. They hope that players will trust Wargaming as they want to ensure optimal gameplay.
Anyone who believes they have been unjustly banned from World of Tanks can contact support, and the situation will be reviewed.

In the last livestream, the developers of Guild Wars 2 presented the next boss of the upcoming raid wing – a gigantic sloth.
New Raid Boss: The Hellish Sloth
In a stream, one of the game designers of Guild Wars 2, Crystal Reid, talked about the upcoming raid wing that will open in the near future – at least about the first boss that awaits players there. In the “Salvation” wing of the raid waits a gigantic… sloth. From hell.
And because Slothasor alone wouldn’t be scary enough, he also brings his larva “Slubling” with him, which has a similarly disturbing and gruesome “face.” Slubling counts as a typical “add” of the fight and spits various negative effects on players, as there are four different types of it. Even in death, he still spreads his acid.
The developers sound like they had a lot of fun designing the boss, with one claiming he had to watch the Discovery Channel all day to develop cool effects and animations for this boss.
In terms of difficulty, the bosses of the new wing are said to be comparable to “Spirit Vale”, as they want “the fights definitely not to be so challenging that they are impossible, because that would reduce their accessibility.”
Regarding achievements, the “Salvation Pass” is supposed to work a bit differently than before. There will be no simple “avoid X and then kill the boss” achievements, but they should “drastically change how you approach the boss fight.” Possible achievements could include something like “Kill Slothasor without killing Slubling” or something similar – but this is still just speculation.
