With Scum (Scum), a new survival game with an unusual setting has been introduced.
As part of a reality TV show, prisoners must fight for survival on an island. The first season took place on Alcatraz, the second on “Bagne de Cayenne.” Older players might think of Running Man, while younger ones might think of either the Hunger Games or the numerous “Battle Royale” games that have emerged in recent years within the genre.
Scum is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and the developers promise a significantly increased complexity compared to other representatives of the genre. Players are expected to have full control over their character, its appearance, and progression in the game. It involves nutrition, metabolism, and body mass, as well as weapon skills, combat styles, and hacking security systems.
Scum is expected to enter Early Access in early 2017.

In the MMO shooter Destiny, Bungie discusses how raids are created.
Raids are the largest, longest, and most challenging PvE challenges in Destiny. They consist of tough boss encounters, tricky mechanics, and various jumping sequences, all of which must be mastered to ultimately receive the pot of gold. They are designed for six players and require teamwork and communication.
Gameinformer spoke with lead raid designer Gavin Irby about the general raid philosophy, the complicated design, and the plans for the upcoming raid “Wrath of the Machine”.
Destiny raids are completely different from those in WoW
Irby joined Bungie’s raid development team in 2013, when they were just working on the Glass Chamber. Some design ideas were already set at that time, such as the location on Venus. But according to Irby, the team didn’t yet know how to create a raid encounter. What is the appropriate difficulty? How do you design a puzzle? How hard should a puzzle be? And all of this with the condition that Destiny is a first-person shooter – and played on a console.
Here he draws a comparison with WoW: In this online role-playing game, it is not a problem if many icons appear on the screen in raids, representing buffs and debuffs. If you hover over these with the mouse, you get detailed information about what they do, how the mechanics work.
In Destiny, however, the UI information must be kept very limited. You don’t want to overwhelm the guardians with a flood of information. The focus should remain on gameplay, on the experience of the encounter. Therefore, mechanics concentrate on things that can be found directly in the environment, which can ideally be shot at. Due to the first-person perspective, you are right in the chaos and so close to the action that too many numbers and icons would only be distracting.
In traditional MMO raids, much more information is available than in Destiny. For example, the exact DPS output of team members is often known. In Destiny, these specific details are lacking. Therefore, for the development team, it is an extremely important aspect how to determine the strength and health of the enemies. Even without the detailed information on DPS and the like, the enemies must be defeatable – but on the other hand, they should not fall too easily.
Moreover, it is considered in a raid that matchmaking is not active. You have to form your strike team yourself. Therefore, it is assumed – even if the team consists of people who do not know each other – that they will communicate. Teamplay and coordination are required. That the Crota raid can also be mastered solo was not intended in this form according to Irby.
Info about “Wrath of the Machine”
So far, not much is known about the new raid of “The Rise of Iron Lords”. In the ViDoc for Gamescom, a few scenes from it were shown. It is supposed to be very expansive and provide new experiences. In “Wrath of the Machine”, you will discover the true origin of the SIVA outbreak. Further information is scarce.
Irby states that it is not easy to create completely new experiences as was the case with the Glass Chamber. The guardians are now experienced and have seen a lot in Destiny. Now they are looking at new challenges and think: “Aha, this is like this encounter” or “This resembles that activity.”
The upcoming raid was approached with a big goal: It should be fun. Furthermore, it should emphasize the strengths of the Destiny sandbox. And it should be difficult.
As for the difficulty level, it is said that it will depend heavily on your Light level. While the King’s Fall raid remains a challenge despite high Light levels, as the mechanics do not become easier because of it, guardians in “Wrath of the Machine” should be able to gain the upper hand against enemies with a high Light level.
However, the details are not elaborated further. After all, the secrets of the raid are to remain under wraps until launch. Guardians must discover the mechanics on their own and face the unknown dangers.

Pantheon is a champion who has been playable in League of Legends for a long time (February 2, 2010). It is not only his various attacks that make the champion unique, but also his quotes that he utters in the game. His wit stands out particularly: “My destiny? You know, now that I think about it, I always wanted to be a baker. Yes, a baker!”. Perhaps Pantheon is now one step closer to fulfilling this dream.
Pantheon’s Cooking Studio
A video has now been shown on the various social media accounts of League of Legends that could announce a new Pantheon skin. Pay special attention to the details in the video.
Now you not only know how to bake your own bread, but you also have an idea of a possible new skin for Pantheon. Not only his wit but also many other quotes of the champion are inspired by the movie 300. In this YouTube video, you can watch the context of the joke again:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fIBcooR8fA
With a baker skin, Pantheon would be the 3rd champion in League of Legends to receive a skin themed around Cooking . So far, both Tahm Kench and Morgana have received a skin on this theme.

In No Man’s Sky, a mod has been developed that lifts the annoying planet safety distance during flight.
To ensure that researchers do not hopelessly get stuck in rock walls or have catastrophic crashes every few meters on their flights over planets, the ship is – usually reliably – kept at a certain distance above the planet’s surface. You can’t fly lower.
However, some players feel strongly restricted by this safety measure. After all, in No Man’s Sky, one is supposed to be able to make limitless, unrestricted discoveries. If you can’t even get close enough with the ship to take a good look at the true beauty of a planet’s surface, it leads to frustration.
Therefore, “Hytek” developed a Lowflight mod, which allows you to conduct low flights – and see exactly what is going on on the planet. But beware: This could also easily lead to crashing. So it might not be a bad idea to save the game before using the mod. Here you can see the mod in action:

The latest hero in Paragon’s roster is not one for soft tones. With his drums strapped in front of him, he empowers himself and his team, propelling them to victory through a movement speed and health regeneration buff. But the noise-maker Narbash is not the only thing making its way into the Moba with update 30.1. This time, attention is once again focused on the, according to the developer Epic Games, still too high average match length.
For this reason, the base value of energy or physical resistance for group 1 towers has been reduced from 65 to 44. Furthermore, group 2 towers now have only 2,100 health points instead of 2,500.
The new hero Narbash in the Fire Beats skin design
Additionally, the large carrier of the main orb has been affected, losing a total of 3000 health points. This orb will no longer respawn after 10 minutes as before, but will do so after just 8 minutes.
These changes, however, are not set in stone and will continue to be monitored by the developers after implementation. After all, they don’t want a game to be too short, thereby limiting carries’ ability to fully unleash their potential.

In their new video, Soulbound Studios takes us on a journey through the first in-game region of their upcoming sandbox MMO Chronicles of Elyria.
In our last news, we reported that the production of Chronicles of Elyria, after the successfully completed Kickstarter campaign, is picking up pace quickly and that players of the sandbox MMO will be able to play several prologues, including a single-player demo, before the release.
Soulbound’s latest video now shows for the first time the region “Titan Steppe,” which will not only be the location of the single-player demo but also part of the later game world. Next to the larger city “New Haven,” the small mining settlement “Silver Run” is also located in “Titan Steppe,” both of which can now be seen in detail for the first time.
The steppe biome is just one of the 18 climate zones found in COE
The special thing about “Titan Steppe” is that it is crucial to the game’s backstory and will be the only region that will be identical on all servers. Becausethe rest of the game world will – like the quests of the game – be completely procedurally generated, so that each server will have different land masses, islands, regions, villages, and cities.
The technology responsible for this is also used in No Man’s Sky and Camelot Unchained and allows the creation of large yet authentically-looking areas that would otherwise have to be created by hand over several years.
Since there will be no mini-map function, players will rely on drawn maps of the world
This will be particularly necessary in the case of Chronicles of Elyria, as the starting continent alone will cover an area of 32,750 km2. For comparison: World of Warcraft had an area of about 207 km2 before Burning Crusade, and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes had about 500 km2.
Matthias says: You can tell from the video that it is in PreAlpha status, and the developers explicitly point out that this is “Work In Progress” and that this is also the reason why neither NPCs nor mobs are visible in the video.
Some of the animations are still placeholders, while others, such as the landing animation while jumping, are even missing entirely. Nevertheless, the video already makes a good impression at this early stage.
The first event of Overwatch is ending soon – last chance for the special loot boxes!
The End of the Summer Games, the Continuation of DDoS Attacks
If you can spare a bit of free time and haven’t already grabbed all the special skins from the current “Summer Games” event of Overwatch, now is the time to act. Tonight, on August 23, 2017, at 7:00 PM, the event will likely be over. After that, it will no longer be possible to snag the special Summer Games loot boxes. This also means the opportunity to get numerous skins, emotes, voicelines, and profile icons that were exclusive in the past weeks will vanish.
At the same time, the chance to buy the “Summer Games” loot boxes with real money is also dwindling – if you’re still waiting for a special skin (I curse you, Swiss Mercy!), you should now reach for your wallet or wait another year, as that’s when the Summer Games are expected to return – but even that is still up for discussion.
All of this is of course under the condition that you can even log into the game. Currently, Blizzard – as has happened countless times in the past weeks – is being attacked by a DDoS attack again, which can cause massive problems with the login servers. These issues affect not only Overwatch but also other Blizzard games such as World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and Diablo 3.
Did you manage to grab everything you wanted during the Summer Games? Or has a special skin slipped through your fingers, leading you to avoid Overwatch until the frustration subsides?

In The Division there are several ideas on how to improve the Dark Zone in the future.
This morning, community developer Hamish Bode held a relaxed livestream. He played a bit of the in-house MMO shooter and answered questions that reached him live via Twitch. We tuned in for a few minutes and picked up some vague information.
The Dark Zone needs changes
The stream started off very “community-focused”: While Bode enjoyed his breakfast on camera, he watched a current YouTube video showcasing a possible Dark Zone redesign. Bode agreed with most points but referenced difficulties with others and commented cheerfully to himself. He demonstrated live how he explores and listens to community ideas.
One idea that received wide approval is PvE events in the Dark Zone. This refers to time-limited events where players must fight together against many NPCs, and at the end, good loot awaits. And the special thing about it: You cannot harm other agents. You cannot go rogue.
A pure PvE Dark Zone is among the requests that frequently arise on Reddit. The idea of a large area to explore, defeat enemies, and obtain good loot is well-received by many. However, some are bothered by other agents who only aim for PvP. With PvE events, these players could at least be accommodated to some extent.
Whether this proposal will ever be implemented is uncertain. Bode at least showed interest. However, one idea that sounds more likely to be implemented is PvP arenas. An arena mode was mentioned by Bode today and also in last Thursday’s stream. This seems to be an idea that Massive is currently playtesting, for which there might already be concrete plans.
These arenas could be designated areas solely for PvP, where agents can freely shoot each other and have fun. In today’s stream, the idea of “normalized PvP” also came up, where all agents would start with similar conditions. The advantages from the gear sets, which are unbalanced anyway, would not be taken into account here.
However, all these ideas are still not finalized – or official. Bode announced numerous details and patches in the upcoming weeks. What exactly will change, he could not discuss today. But one thing is clear: Changes are coming.
4 players are not enough to face the latest boss in Monster Hunter Online. The strongest monster ever requires a small raid!
The Inferno Tartaronis makes short work
In Monster Hunter Online, many creatures must be hunted and defeated as a group. Those who venture out alone achieve far less than a group of 4 players – especially stylish rewards will be withheld. This is even more evident in the latest content update of the game, as the developers take it a step further.
For the creature “Inferno Tartaronis”, even 4 players are not enough, so 8 heroes must come together to even have a chance against the gigantic beast. And although the monster is so large, it has hardly lost any of its maneuverability. It radiates such immense heat that it can use it to either dig into the ground or even rise into the air. It is a matter of honor for dragons that a fireball or an entire area full of lava often follows.

Anyone who wishes to take on the Inferno Tartaronis should bring 7 tough friends – the hunt will certainly not be easy for the “toughest opponent ever” that has been encountered in the game so far.
In the fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online, there were some surprises at the edge of Gamescom.
The main source of information for new features presented at Gamescom for ESO is a reddit thread that refers to recordings made with a mobile phone from the ESO Tavern, a casual presentation. So these are pieces of information that should be taken with caution for the moment, but which have already sparked some discussion – as they provide a glimpse into the next update of The Elder Scrolls Online, which is supposed to be released in 2016.
The “ESO Tavern” was an event that took place on August 19 and 20 at the Gir Keller in Cologne – speakers included the head Matt Firor and Creative Director Rich Lambert. The event was supposed to be streamed live on Twitch, according to the announcement from Zenimax. However, the only thing we could find were some shaky mobile videos.
The Elder Scrolls Online: One Tamriel is Coming
The information primarily revolves around the next update, Update 12:
“One Tamriel” will come into the game as a free base patch. All dungeons that do not yet have a veteran mode will be revamped. They will then have a normal and an extended veteran version. Furthermore, 17 new monster sets have been found in the database.
There is supposed to be a DLC pack in the Crown Store that costs 5500 crowns and includes all DLCs except the newest “Shadow of the Hist”.
Overwatch loosens the strict restrictions for friends who want to play together in ranked mode as a test.
Expanded Opportunities in Lower Ranks
Currently, the latest patch is being tested on the Overwatch test realm. Not only can players get a first look at the new map Eichenwalde , but they can also experience the balance changes firsthand. Also new are the adjustments to the ranked mode. Players will no longer be placed into a skill rating of 1 to 100, but instead into a finer rating of 1 to 5000.
There were also stricter rules regarding how players could register as a group: If friends were more than 500 points apart, they could no longer register together. This was mainly to prevent the “boosting” of weaker players – as many people could temporarily secure a spot in the top 500, which promised additional rewards.
“Well intended” does not always mean “well executed,” as the system still had some quirks on the test server. While players could only register with others within a 500-point range, they still received teammates who were outside of that range.
Because that was – to put it mildly – quite ridiculous, Blizzard has now temporarily loosened the restrictions, allowing players up to and including the “Diamond” rank to play with friends who are within a 1000-point range – which constitutes approximately 1/5 of the entire ranking range.
Jeff Kaplan summarizes the intention behind the changes in the forum as follows:
“The goal is to loosen the restrictions a bit to allow more group formations while also addressing some exploitable points and matchmaking issues caused by players with high skill ratings when they team up with players who have low skill ratings.”
Whether the changes will also be implemented in this form on the live servers with Season 2 remains to be seen – at least 3 weeks will pass until then.

A complete unboxing video of the PS4 Slim has surfaced on the internet.
In recent days, some leaked images of the alleged PS4 Slim have circulated. Initial doubts about the authenticity were quickly cleared by various sources claiming, “Yes, this is the real PS4 Slim!” The first images appeared on the website of a British auction house where the console was listed for £295. However, the listing has since been removed.
This should be it: The PS4 Slim
Now a video has been released showing a complete unboxing. In it, you can admire the PS4 Slim in all its glory. Additionally, we get a look at the new Dualshock 4 controller, which comes with a fresh feature. The video was once on YouTube but has since been taken offline. Now it can be found on Dailymotion:

The console is noticeably slimmer than the previous PS4. According to the packaging, it is a 500GB version. On its back, games like Uncharted 4 and Gran Turismo Sport are listed.
The controller looks very similar to its predecessor. The sticks and buttons seem to be a bit grayer. Additionally, there is a thin light bar above the touchpad that shows the color of the light bar on the front view. Otherwise, not much seems to have changed with the Dualshock 4.
It has been known for a few weeks that Sony will make announcements regarding PlayStation on September 7th. Then we will most likely learn much more – and official – information about this new gaming box. We also expect details about the PS4 Neo.
Compared to this “high-end PS4”, the PS4 Slim will not be able to offer 4K resolution or enhanced graphical performance. But at this point, an explicit note: Nothing has been officially confirmed by Sony yet.

When thinking about future changes to the game system in League of Legends.
Since the release of League of Legends on October 27, 2009, the game has undergone several changes. In addition to the constantly growing champion pool, there have also been visual changes that have benefitted the game. To keep the game interesting in the future, the developers take the fans’ feedback seriously. They provide insight into gameplay changes planned for upcoming patches.
Changes in the upcoming patches for LoL
Since the World Championships in League of Legends are played on Patch 6.18, there will be a greater focus on balance changes for the professional scene in Patch 6.17 and 6.18. In order to provide more diversity in champion selection during the championship, there will be minor adjustments for many champions. This includes “nerfing” particularly strong champions like Ashe, Jhin, Gragas, or Trundle. Other characters like Draven, Jayce, or Malphite will receive a little more power to encourage players to choose these champions.
However, these changes will focus more on “fine-tuning” rather than major changes to the champions. The developers will also keep an eye on how the tower changes affect the game. It is possible that the reward for the first destroyed tower will be changed by +/- 100 gold, or the duration of the tether buff will change by +/- 1 minute.
During patches 6.19 to 6.21, meaning after the World Championship patch in preparation for the Pre-Season, there will only be minimal changes. The patches will remain similar to the World Championship patch, so players will experience the same game theysaw during the World Championship. At this time, the Yorick rework should also be completed – information about a new champion is likely to be available at that time!
The Pre-Season brings changes
It is currently planned that the Pre-Season will be active during patches 6.22 and 6.23. There, the focus will particularly be on changes to assassins. Additionally, the importance of purchasing an aegis for a supporter will be reviewed.
An important point is also the comparison between gold/experience rewards for farming and rewards for roaming. Changes to the masteries are also possible. Work is being done on other projects for the Pre-Season, but these are still in experimentation stages. At this time, the developers do not want to elaborate further on this.
Once the Pre-Season is over, attention will shift to the ban system in the pick mode. Currently, feedback is being gathered from casual and professional players regarding their opinions on a 10-ban system. The developers understand that many players want more bans, but important considerations must be taken into account when changing this system.
The developers feel that players already spend too much time in champion selection. The 10-ban system aims to not extend this time. For example, they are considering allowing multiple players from the same team to ban during one turn.
They want to avoid issues with target bans. In an extreme situation, a player would need to master 11 champions if bans are focused solely on them.
Increasing the number of bans by 4 also means that players need to own 4 more champions to play in ranked mode. Is that a problem?
In addition to potential changes to the ban system, next year they will also take a closer look at the runes.
By reducing the popular T3 runes and making T2 runes available from level 1, changes have already been made to the rune system in the past. However, the system still has fundamental design issues that need to be addressed. Runes will be completely overhauled in the future. However, this will not happen before the update of the game client. The rune update will be focused on no earlier than the beginning of the second half of 2017.

Eve Valkyrie may not be an MMO, but since the virtual reality space shooter is also supposed to get a multiplayer mode at some point and takes place in the universe of the super-sandbox MMORPG Eve Online, we took a look at the title at Gamescom 2016. Our author Jürgen was in for more than one surprise.
I had never dealt with virtual reality in my life and had only seen an early version of the Oculus Rift from afar during my time as an intern at Computec years ago. Since I was not a big fan of the roller coaster simulations that were available back then, I stayed out of the whole crowd and left the field to more interested colleagues.
Since then, I haven’t had the opportunity to try VR, and I was never really hooked on the topic. I always found it a bit silly when I saw colleagues wandering around like blind zombies when they were exploring a completely foreign world via VR and couldn’t perceive anything around them. I had also heard from some players that VR made them feel extremely nauseous.
Since I often felt nauseous from typical carnival attractions, I was never really interested in VR games and actively avoided the topic. I could much more identify with augmented reality (AR), because in Pokémon GO and similar games, you are out with other people, perceive the real world in an enhanced form, and meet other people, while in VR mode you are completely isolated.
To vomit or not to vomit…
Valkyrie belongs to the universe of Eve Online.
But none of that mattered when I was instructed by our editor-in-chief Schuhmann for Gamescom, and the company CCP with Eve Valkyrie was on the list of titles I was supposed to cover at the fair. I felt a bit uneasy, as Eve Valkyrie is supposed to be a fast-paced space shooter and probably much worse than any roller coaster at a fair! I was genuinely worried about vomiting all over the wonderful, clean CCP booth! And even though the CCP employee was a bundle of enthusiasm who pushed my head into the – rather uncomfortable – Playstation VR headset, I couldn’t shake my worries.
And suddenly there were breasts…
In the end, the headset fit, and even my oddly shaped normal glasses fit into the VR headset. Both my eyes and ears were completely immersed in the game, and I was indeed in a realistically looking virtual space, more precisely in the cockpit of one of the titular Valkyrie star fighters.
I could – unlike a regular space shooter – freely move my head and look around the cockpit:
Above me: The canopy and the hangar
Next to me: More controls and parts of the platform
Below me: The cockpit, my legs, my hands with the controls and my… breasts?!
Yes, that was indeed the biggest surprise. I must have looked pretty dumb standing in the CCP demo room, staring unbelievingly down at myself, but at least in the Gamescom demo of Eve Valkyrie, you apparently play as a female pilot clone. I have often played female characters in regular MMOs and in tabletop RPGs, but this VR experience with a completely different body was curiously more interesting and fascinating for me than the impending space battle.
You have to experience it!
The fascination with the game world and the many new impressions made me initially forget that I actually had a fear of VR, and soon my space fighter was launched into space uncontrollably and I was immediately caught up in a wild battle with other fighters. And this brought the second big VR surprise, because not only did I not feel any nausea, but everything felt so natural and intuitive, as if I were really sitting in a real cockpit.
The immersion was nearly perfect, and for the duration of the demo, I completely forgot that I was actually not in space, but sitting in a cramped demo room with various CCP employees wearing a bulky headset. Therefore, I was more than just a little disappointed when the gaming session finally ended and I had to take off the headset and found myself back in the real world. Without VR breasts and a spaceship, but with a slightly wobbly gait.
Mein-MMO says: Yes, I am convinced now too! VR rocks hard, and you really have to experience it! But I am still skeptical whether the expensive VR hardware will establish itself in the long term for home use, because while space games like Eve Valkyrie can surely be played well from a desk, VR games like the also CCP originated Project Arena (a kind of squash with energy balls and shields) can only be played standing and require not only additional controllers but also a lot of space and a kind of assistant to help with the whole setup. Therefore, I think VR could lead to a renaissance of the good old arcade halls in the future, where thematically suitable rooms, staff, and always up-to-date hardware could be offered.

In Titanfall 2 , you get quite an audio experience when you level up your character.
Last weekend, the first open tech test of Titanfall 2 took place. On PS4 and Xbox One, interested players were able to get their first impression of the upcoming shooter. In addition to a test mode where the controls were explained to you, there were also multiplayer modes on two different maps.
Next weekend, the second test phase will take place, featuring additional modes and maps. We have summarized all the information about these “open betas” of Titanfall 2 here.
Besides the gameplay, many players have also looked at the progression system – where you could say it’s more about “listening” than “looking”.
Cool or exaggerated?
According to Polygon, from which the following recording originates, the sound when leveling up is already “ridiculous”. You can check out the “auditorily intense” sounds here:
Whether this is cool or annoying is something everyone must decide for themselves. Probably, one will only be able to make a judgment after playing the game for hours and hearing the sound spectacle repeatedly.
What do you think about it?

In the MMO shooter Destiny, today, on August 23rd, is the weekly reset. Fresh challenges are coming.
That’s it! The Iron Banner is over – at least for the version we currently know. The August Iron Banner was the last monthly PvP event before “The Rise of Iron,” which ended today at 11 AM with the weekly reset. And we already know: Starting with RoI, a few changes are coming to the Iron Banner. For example, Lord Saladin will be in Felwinter Peak and will no longer reside in the Tower.
Today, not only the activities of the past week are coming to an end, but fresh challenges are also being delivered. Let’s take a look at what there is to do.
Nightfall strike starting August 23rd on PS4 and Xbox One
The Nightfall strike is the Immortal Ghost. The modifiers are:
Epic
Voidburn
Berserker: Minions of Darkness do not retreat, even when they take massive damage.
Specialist: Special weapon damage is increased.
Juggler: No ammo drop for the equipped weapon.
In the heroic strike playlist, Heroic, Voidburn, Sidearms and Juggler are active.
These items are wanted by the factions
Eris Morn wants Hadium donations.
The Future War Cult demands Ghost Flowers.
The Dead Orbit and the New Monarchy crave Spinmetal.
What awaits in the Challenge of the Elders?
This week there are bonus points for Super kills. The modifiers are Berserker and Sidearms. You will face the Pilot Servitor (Fallen), Sylok, the Defiled (Hive), and Val Aru’un (Cabal).
No matter what you do, in World of Warcraft: Legion, everything is somehow relevant – and that for quite a while. Masterstroke or recycling?
Endless gameplay content thanks to random upgrades?
During the past GamesCom, Slootbag had the opportunity to conduct a quite lengthy interview with Ion Hazzikostas, one of the leading figures behind World of Warcraft. Besides the dungeon design and nerfing of interface addons, the topic of “relevant content” was also discussed. In Warlords of Draenor, for instance, instances offered no incentive after the first or second visit.
While the developers have created “pseudo-incentives” such as valor points and gold rewards, visiting an instance was still not really worthwhile. With the random item upgrade system, (almost) all game content will remain interesting in the long term and regularly provide players with upgrades for their characters. Whether through world quests, dungeons, LFR raids, PvP, or more professional raids, every gameplay aspect can consistently yield something meaningful.
But while players on one side are happy to have a large selection of content, others describe the system as “recycling” or claim that “casuals could now be better equipped by luck than professional raiders” – which is theoretically true.
What do you think of the new mechanics?
Mein-MMO says: We tend to be pessimistic when it comes to announcements of new content, and especially the myth of “long-relevant” content has been heard too many times (not only in World of Warcraft). However, our visits to the beta have shown that the system has potential. Especially with world quests and popular instances, it can be much more fun knowing that even on the 20th visit something nice can drop.
Whether this will work in the live version or whether it will be more of a thorn in the side for the majority of players, as now “everyone can achieve everything, even with pet battles” (somewhat exaggerated), remains to be seen.
The “Play of the Game” scenes of this week once again impressively demonstrate that in Overwatch sometimes it’s better to enjoy silently.
When Reinhardt Wants Too Much Honor
That you can create a lot of mischief with the basketballs from the spawn rooms of Overwatch is now an old hat. But players continually find new ways to add another layer of madness. As “usual,” a Junkrat prepares a basketball with explosives and a bear trap, but then comes the twist: a Symmetra carries this ball towards the enemies with her weapon. The opposing Ana must have been quite confused when the ball of death visited her.

Let’s face it: We all hate Torbjörn on the Volskaya Industries map. It must have been liberating for the player Kriskarnage when he catapulted the deadly mech over the building in the form of D.Va. The “kill feed” in the upper right is definitely struggling to keep up with all the destroyed turrets, Torbjörns, and Lúcios.

Our last clip falls into the category “Karma is a bitch.” The player Fireborn24 manages to get a solid triple kill with Reinhardt in the Sanctum of Nepal and takes a moment to celebrate the victory with an emote. But just while he’s turning the camera to admire his character in full gear, he notices the small red glow in the background of the screen. One “High Noon” later, Reinhardt is also lying in the dirt. Sometimes, one should simply enjoy their success silently!

In Destiny, the original version is listed for free in the Xbox Store.
Soon, “The Rise of Iron” will be released for Destiny. It will be available on September 20. Together with Lord Saladin, you will face new dangers and become an Iron Lord yourself.
To make it easier and cheaper for players who have not yet engaged with Destiny to start, a “Destiny: The Collection” bundle edition can be purchased. This includes the base game, the two expansions from Year 1, “The Taken King”, and the upcoming expansion “The Rise of Iron”.
For gamers who want to try the game before they buy it, there seems to be an unbeatable offer in the Xbox Store: The original version (without TTK) is listed for free for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. However, “in-app purchases” may be possible. What does the offer entail?
Only the trial mode is supposed to be playable
Yesterday, Bungie commented on the offer. On some digital console marketplaces, the original Destiny adventure may be displayed as free.
However, this would only grant access to the trial mode of Destiny. If you want to progress with your character and experience all adventures, you will need to pay for it. If you want the game digitally, “Destiny: The Collection” must be purchased.
Note: Additionally, there are currently reports that this free version is displayed but cannot be downloaded. The download cannot be initiated.
If you are considering starting your journey as a Guardian this fall, but want to test Destiny beforehand, you may want to keep an eye on this offer.
