Warface, the online shooter from Crytek, will soon be distributed by a new publisher in Europe and North America. The Russian media company My.com will offer the game here in the future.
Warface is a Free2Play online shooter from the recently hard-hit developer Crytek. However, fans of the game need not worry despite the developer’s crisis, as a new publisher will be ready to distribute the game in Europe and North America starting in February 2017.

The new publisher is the Russian company My.com, which already offers the online games Allods Online, Skyforge, Armored Warfare, and the new Asia-MMO Revelation Online in our regions. My.com is a subsidiary of the Russian giant Mail.ru, which has already been distributing Warface in the CIS for four years. The know-how is therefore present.
With the transfer of the publisher rights, 40 million accounts will change ownership. This transfer is intended to be as simple and straightforward as possible. Characters and all achievements and equipment will be retained. Updates and maintenance of Warface will continue to be handled by Crytek at their offices in Kyiv.
What exact purpose does the PTR of Overwatch actually serve? Jeff Kaplan addresses the topic.
The PTR of Overwatch has been active again for several weeks and brings a lot of changes to game balance. Many players are wondering, though: What is the purpose of the PTR? The criticism is that Blizzard wouldn’t listen to player feedback anyway and console owners are left out completely.
In the latest Developer Update, Jeff Kaplan has taken on these questions and briefly explains for about a quarter of an hour why the PTR is so important.
First, Kaplan addresses what exactly happens on a test server: Changes are tested that are supposed to be implemented in a later patch into the live version of the game. What sounds trivial seems to be forgotten by some players. The changes on the PTR are provisional and can change before release. “It is a test field. If we ruin a hero, we will nudge him back in the right direction.”

Relatively few players actually try out the changes on the PTR, which is also due to the fact that there are hardly any incentives. While there are considerations about whether testers from the PTR should be rewarded with loot boxes or a portion of earned experience points, they are hesitating. The time to program such features for the PTR is currently preferred to create new content for all players. However, they are keeping an eye on this for the future.
The fact that there is no PTR on consoles has nothing to do with Blizzard not being interested in feedback on PS4 and Xbox One. The reason is simply that it is significantly more difficult to offer a PTR on consoles. The underlying systems belong to Sony and Microsoft, who proceed very cautiously and must certify every update first. Kaplan does not completely rule out that console players might get a test server in the future, but currently this is associated with “logistical difficulties”.
In Destiny, the January Iron Banner is taking place in 2017. Lord Efrideet brings weapons with fixed perks.
Lord Efrideet is back – for the first time in 2017. Since “Rise of Iron,” she appears once a month to bring the Guardians the “Iron Banner” event along with delicious weapons and armor pieces.
She is at the Felwinter Peak and has Iron Banner bounties and Iron Banner items for you at certain reputation ranks. Starting from rank 3, you can get the chest piece and gauntlets for 25 Legendary Marks, which come with the usual good stats.
The Titanium Orchid – Rocket Launcher
From Iron Banner rank 4 and for 50 Marks, you can buy this heavy weapon with fixed rolls. Keep in mind that the weapons offered by Efrideet can also drop with random perks after Iron Banner matches. However, she has a Titanium Orchid available, which could hardly have better perks:
You have the choice between:
Fins: Increases rocket velocity
Adaptive Frame: Increased stability.
Choice between:
Lightweight: While held, gives +2 character agility
Extended Mag: Reload speed is higher
Choice between:
Grenades and Horseshoes: Rockets explode prematurely, depending on the distance to the target
Cluster Bombs
Additionally, you can influence recoil, speed, and explosion radius with Aggressive Shots, Drift Control, and Hard Shots.

Since the Titanium Orchid has a small explosion radius and cannot come with Tripod and Grenades and Horseshoes at the same time, it is not a “Top Tier” rocket launcher. However, this weapon brings Fins and Grenades and Horseshoes – both highly regarded perks in PvP.
The Dazzling Flame – Hand Cannon
If you have reached rank 5 and have 50 Legendary Marks left, you can buy the hand cannon “The Dazzling Flame.” These are the fixed perks:
You have the choice between:
Hand Loader: This weapon is effective at longer ranges
Injection Molding: Increased stability, faster handling, reduced range
Cascade: Killing with melee restores part of the magazine
The sights are Iron Lord Sight, Iron Warrior Sight, and Iron Resilience Sight.
The Dazzling Flame is not a good weapon from the stats perspective, but the perks Hand Loader, Snapshot, and Rangefinder are great for a hand cannon. Definitely interesting for hand cannon enthusiasts among you.
The MMORPG The Repopulation was actually supposed to be released by Above and Beyond Technologies after the survival shooter The Fragmented. Now Idea Fabrik has acquired the rights and will take care of the MMO from now on.
It was a long back and forth. The disputes between Above and Beyond Technologies regarding the Hero Engine underlying the MMORPG The Repopulation eventually led Above and Beyond to decide to put the work on the MMO on hold and switch to Unreal Engine 4 – specifically with a survival shooter called The Fragmented, on which they then wanted to rebuild the MMORPG The Repopulation.
The Repopulation Returns
Now comes the surprise: Idea Fabrik, who developed the engine behind the MMO, have acquired the rights to The Repopulation and will take care of the further development of the game from now on.
In the first quarter of this year, the servers are supposed to reopen. All previous participants in the alpha will be able to log back into their regular accounts. Idea Fabrik is excited about the deal and is looking forward to offering fans one of the most anticipated MMORPGs. Initially, they plan to reopen the servers and work on the stability of the game before developing further content.
Content is still missing
Above and Beyond Technologies will work with Idea Fabrik during the transition before returning to the development of The Fragmented. The survival game is scheduled to leave early access later this year and will also be released on Xbox One.
Regarding the work on The Repopulation, Above and Beyond states that most of the core systems were already integrated, but they could hardly develop any content. That is something Idea Fabrik now has to take care of.
The entire story is quite interesting, but fans can now look forward to two online games – the survival game The Fragmented and the resurrected The Repopulation.
In the MMO shooter Destiny, the January Iron Banner has started. The Guardians are drawn to the Crucible.
The Iron Banner is back! During this monthly PvP event, Guardians flock to the Crucible to grab the unique weapons and armor pieces with the best rolls possible. There’s also loot up to light level 400, which is a great incentive even for PvP skeptics.
The January Iron Banner in 2017 starts on January 17 at 7 PM. It ends on January 24 at 10 AM. The classic mode “Conflict” will be played. Six Guardians will compete against six other Guardians. There are no zones to control, nor sparks to be sent into the opposing Rift. The controversial mode “Rift” was last time, now no debate will be needed.
This week, the weapons available are the pistol “The Blinding Brand” and the rocket launcher “The Titanium Orchid”. The armor pieces include the chest piece and the gloves.
Iron Banner armor of the Hunter
How to snag loot in the Iron Banner
Since “Rise of Iron”, you can only play “Iron Banner” on PS4 and Xbox One. To participate, you must also meet these requirements:
own “The Awakening of the Iron Lords”,
have a character at level 40
and display a light level of at least 230.
As light-level advantages are active, you should only venture in with a high light level to avoid being hopelessly overmatched.
There are four ways to obtain loot:
Purchase from Efrideet: Every month, Efrideet has two of the “Iron Banner” weapons with fixed perks available: This time the pistol and the rocket launcher. Armor pieces can also be purchased from her.
Random drop after Iron Banner matches: The two weapons that Efrideet offers can drop after matches with random perks. Likewise, the armor pieces and other Iron Banner specific rewards.
Reward for completing bounties: If you successfully complete Efrideet’s bounties, you will immediately receive a reward. Any Iron Banner equipment piece can randomly be included, not just the items featured this week.
Random reward for the quest “The Pursuit of Light”, for which you need to reach rank 1, 3, and 5 in the Iron Banner. This quest is available only once!
This changed with “Rise of Iron”
“Rise of Iron” brought not only new weapons and armor pieces but also changed rules:
Lord Saladin is no longer the Iron Banner vendor, but Lord Efrideet. You will find her at the Felwinter Peak.
The “Hardened” buff has been removed.
Reputation packages for ranks 3 and 5 have been removed.
The daily Iron Banner bounties have been removed. There are only weekly bounties that directly provide rewards.
The developers of the grim MMORPG The Black Death want to thank the particularly active fans with the introduction of the Champion’s Council after a good year in 2016.
Players who have stood out through much positive feedback and special loyalty to the MMO are accepted into this “Council”. As a member of the Champion’s Council, you will have a direct line to the developers, can provide feedback, and will be more deeply involved in the development process of The Black Death as well as upcoming changes.
Are you a Champion?
As a Champion, you also have responsibilities. For example, you must ensure a positive atmosphere within the community and pass on the feedback from fans to the developers. You must be friendly and unbiased and may help organize community events as well as participate in test sessions.
You will receive a golden name in the game, your real name will be mentioned in the credits on Steam, and you will gain access to a special Champion channel on Discord. You cannot apply for a spot on the Council; instead, you will be selected when you have proven yourself accordingly.
The development team also looks back at the year 2016 and what was achieved. An infographic has been published containing interesting details. This includes that the first bug was reported on May 10, 2016, and a total of 1137 bugs have been fixed since then. The Steam group has 20,619 members, and the highest number of simultaneously playing fans reached 617.
Anyone who enjoys playing the MMORPG The Black Death can look forward to some interesting innovations this year.
Life points soon need a new symbol – a red cross on a white background is legally protected.
Among the numerous video games created in the last few decades, there are only a few commonalities. From shooters to role-playing games to simulators, there are various genres that fundamentally differ. However, some commonalities almost all games share: namely the “Red Cross” symbol. Whether it’s Tomb Raider, Halo, Left4Dead, or even World of Warcraft, the red cross everywhere represents healing, the restoration of life points, or another regenerative ability.
But that is not allowed. The developers of the game “Prison Architect” received a letter from the British Red Cross and were threatened with a lawsuit. Contrary to popular belief, the red cross on a white background is not public domain, but legally protected for the “International Committee of the Red Cross”.
Strictly speaking, the developers have now violated the Geneva Conventions – however, they take it with humor.

It is somewhat strange that a conflict arose with a game like Prison Architect after the symbol has already appeared in games for several decades.
Especially in old games that are no longer supported by updates, the symbol can still be found repeatedly. Kotaku points out that games like the Halo series have replaced the symbol over the years – for example, with a red “H”, which presumably stands for “Health” and serves the same purpose.
Cortyn says: Personally, I find this approach a bit strange, as the symbol represents “health” or “help” in almost all games – exactly those values that are also represented by the Red Cross. On the other hand, one might not want this symbol to appear in violent games, which is entirely understandable. In general, however, one must say: if the symbol is legally protected, it is the right of the rights holders to ensure that others do not use it.
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
And indeed: There in a subreddit named “BattlebornRule34,” a relatively small community of Battleborn porn fans has gathered, sharing pictures. Let’s just say pictures that you probably shouldn’t look at at work if you care what your colleagues think of you.
Since Pitchford’s tweet, the paradise in the Battleborn porn subreddit is now over. Numerous Overwatch fans have taken over the small subreddit. They post their own pictures and topics, mocking Battleborn and Pitchford. Pitchford’s tweet is interpreted as a desperate attempt to generate some PR for the shooter.
Currently, a thread titled “Overwatch is better” is at the top of the subreddit. A highly regarded thread also contains the message “Battleborn is trash. Not even porn can save the game anymore. Goodbye, you nerds!”
By the way: Water witch Alani (cover image) seems to occupy the place among Battleborn fans that Tracer holds for Overwatch fans.
Raiding without voice chat – impossible for many guilds in WoW . The deaf guild Durus Veritas has now proven how far one can go.
In recent weeks and months, the number of guilds that have managed to defeat Xavius, the final boss of the Emerald Nightmare, in mythic mode has increased significantly. Almost 5,000 guilds have claimed this success, but one of them has achieved it under special circumstances.
As reported by Buffed, the guild Durus Veritas from the server Ner’zhul has also defeated the ruler of the nightmare. The special thing about it? The guild completely forgoes voice chat – as almost the entire guild is deaf.
Before the boss fights, communication takes place via a video chat program, so that the members of Durus Veritas are prepared for the battle. During the actual fight, there is obviously no time for further arrangements this way, so a lot had to be rehearsed.
Durus Veritas is particularly proud to have achieved this success before the opening of the Nighthold – as they have shown that a guild with deaf members can compete at a relatively high level.
Cortyn says: When I think back to the issues we had at the beginning with heroic Xavius, while the raid leader was yelling in TeamSpeak, I can hardly imagine how it must work for a deaf group. This is quite a significant achievement that excellently shows that one can also have fun raiding with certain limitations, even if one has to do without aids that are considered standard for the rest of the player base. Congratulations to all members of Durus Veritas – an absolutely great achievement!
Dataminers have found hints of ground vehicles that could be coming in a future patch for No Man’s Sky.
As early as the end of November, savvy users discovered a folder named “Buggy” in the game files of the “Foundation Update”. Inside, the concept of a land vehicle that is currently not in the game is hidden. But even back then, there was speculation that this vehicle could become available in the future.
A player even managed to reconstruct the files of the buggy model and make it visible in the game. However, he could not drive it:

According to a report from PowerUpGaming, the signs are now intensifying that a vehicle could be coming in a future update. Apparently, dataminers found several details about an ATV-Buggy (All Terrain Vehicle). You might soon be racing across diverse planetary surfaces.
According to leaks, players must first build a special terminal and hire a mechanic. Then they need to gather resources for the vehicle. Furthermore, the buggy will have several upgrade stages. The following lines were found:
ATV Jetpack Alpha: A gas-propelled vehicular jetpack system that can be fitted to the Hybrid ATV, to allow short bursts of flight.
ATV Jetpack Beta: An upgrade to the vehicle jetpack system that increases the maximum altitude and flight range of the unit, improving the versatility of the Hybrid ATV.
ATV Jetpack Gamma: A further upgrade for the vehicle jetpack system, maximising the altitude and flight range of the unit, and rendering the Hybrid ATV suitable for even the most extreme environment.
ATV Tune-up Alpha: Improved torque and acceleration, toughened shocks, and a longer range between refuelling for the Hybrid ATV.
ATV Tune-up Beta: Improved air intakes for higher horsepower, ECU tuning, a strengthened chassis, and a longer range between refuelling for the Hybrid ATV.
ATV Tune-up Gamma: A high-flow exhaust system for added speed and acceleration, active traction tyres, and maximum range between refuelling for the Hybrid ATV.
ATV Storage: A proximity-locked, secure parking facility for the Hybrid ATV personal transport.
ATV Photon Cannon Alpha: Standard ATV-mounted weapons system, comprising twin small-round photon cannons with a dedicated power source.
ATV Photon Cannon Beta: Improved sighting and recoil dampening, and a longer charge capacity for the Hybrid ATV’s mounted weapons system.
ATV Photon Cannon Gamma: Improved firing rate, larger capacity and maximised photonic charge for the Hybrid ATV’s mounted weapons system.
So far, there has been no official statement from Hello Games on whether and when the land vehicle will come to the game.
The new update 0.53.1 for Pokémon GO changes, among other things, the route tracking in the game. Specifically, it concerns GPS drift.
Niantic has released a new update for Pokémon GO that improves the display on the Apple Watch and makes changes to the GPS system. Since update 0.53.1 for Android or 1.23.1 for iOS is currently rolling out, it may still take some time before it appears in the app stores. During the rollout, the update is gradually being released for various countries and regions. A specific release date for Germany is not known.
Patch notes 0.53.1 Android / 1.23.1 iOS
On the Pokémon blog, the developers announce the following changes to Pokémon GO:
Updated Apple Watch to display eggs received from PokéStops
Modified route tracking for better compensation of GPS drift error
Minor text corrections
The interesting part of this update is the changes to the GPS drift error. In Pokémon GO, there is a bug with the GPS measurement called GPS drift. This bug manifests itself by your character in Pokémon GO running around even though the device is still and you are not moving. Players exploited this bug by keeping Pokémon GO active on their smartphones to passively collect kilometers for hatching eggs without moving.
The update does not state that GPS detection has been improved, but that there is a better compensationfor the GPS drift error.
We will likely only find out how these changes manifest in the coming days when the first players have been able to test the update. Possibly, the developers changed the time intervals used to measure the distance to correct inaccurate measurements. However, that is only speculation and one of many possibilities.
A boss in SWTOR ends his life himself, granting players swift progress in Galactic Command.
As part of the latest update of Star Wars: The Old Republic, players have been provided with a few new bits of content. Among them are the “Uprisings,” the uprisings that players must crush. Typically, these small events are structured so that there are different phases – some of which include intermediate and final bosses.
Lord Anril apparently does not care much for his existence as an intermediate boss and often ends the fight in a particularly elegant way after just a few seconds: He commits suicide.
Players can avoid a lengthy battle and complete the corresponding uprising significantly faster than intended by the developers.
In the official forum, Community Manager Eric Musco has already spoken up and explained that this is an exploit.
Although exploits and their dissemination are usually strictly punished by BioWare, this time they are turning a blind eye because Lord Anril often meets his demise prematurely without any special intervention from players.
No one wants to punish players who simply want to play an uprising and have no intention of exploiting it to progress faster in the ranks of Galactic Command. Since the respective uprising would be particularly lucrative even without this error, players would farm it permanently anyway.
Nonetheless, it is possible to discern who accidentally triggers this error and who does so intentionally.
A patch for the error will likely not come until January 25, as the next update with version number 5.1 goes live then.
Overwatch is workingon improving its spectator mode and is introducing displayed health bars for the viewers.
The spectator mode in Overwatch has so far been a complete disaster. Overwatch is a fast-paced hero shooter where players are constantly involved in intense battles. This makes it difficult to keep track – andthe spectator mode simply does not do justice to the continuous action in Overwatch.
There are no indicators showing which champion has charged their ultimate or a detailed scoreboard. Blizzard is aware of this problem and wants to address it by adding new displays to Overwatch’s spectator mode. In this video, YouTuber ggDoA showcases the effect of the new health bars on the PTR. These clearly show which champion has lost their shield or who is rapidly losing health.

Clear symbols and displays help the viewer to see at a glance which team is in the lead or why a team is currently holding back. If Overwatch wants to establish itself in eSports, the game needs exactly this clarity in spectator mode. This can significantly expand the fanbase and also reach viewers who do not know Overwatch in detail.
By introducing the displayed health bars, Blizzard is taking a first step in a desirable direction for the viewers. The health bars were activated in the last update on the PTR without appearing in the patch notes.
The alpha of the hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov is running. Early reports indicate that there is a lot of potential in the game. But it’s rough, really rough.
The shooter hope of 2017 lies for realism fans off the mainstream. Escape from Tarkov will not be a polished blockbuster action game tailored for consoles. No, in Russia, a hardcore shooter is being developed for PC with significant influences from survival MMOs.
Praised for graphics and sound from Germany, but a tough entry
This has been going on for quite some time now. Meanwhile, Escape from Tarkov has reached an “Extended Alpha”. Initial reports are slowly leaking through. Two of the biggest gaming sites worldwide, the German GameStar and the US site Gamespot, have now released playtest reports from the alpha.
At GameStar, it seems that Tarkov has a hell of a lot of potential but is also a merciless slaughter:
Audio design and graphics are praised, although performance is lacking
However, the player needs to have a high frustration tolerance – the game is merciless, without any tutorials or grace period. It is hard to navigate the world – the journalist was assigned an experienced player as a “guide” so he wouldn’t wander around completely like a hobbit outside of the Shire
The constant thrill of hunting and being hunted raises the adrenaline and creates a unique excitement

At Gamespot, a video about Escape from Tarkov has been created featuring four things to know before the alpha. Gamespot praises the gunplay and the tactical depth of the shooter.
Loot is rare and important in the game. While you can stash a bit in a “safe box,” the items disappear upon death, leading to a “loot spiral” downwards. With the risk that in the end everyone is running around naked.
Because you lose a lot upon death, you have to consider whether you really want to roam around with the best items. Tarkov constantly forces the player to weigh gain against risk.
Gamespot praises the eye for detail in Escape from Tarkov. Regularly checking a weapon reduces the chance that it fails in combat.
The survival strategies possible in Tarkov are ruthless: You can follow groups of players in the hope that they will clear the way to the exit and strike when you discover a weakness in them.
Escape from Tarkov is currently still in extended alpha but is expected to transition to beta soon.
The MOBA game Gigantic is getting new heroes. This time you receive the gruff cuddle bear Pakko. He is actually a lovable beast that beats his opponents into bloody mush with playful paw slaps.
Gigantic, the colorful and fast-paced MOBA from Perfect World, is known for not taking itself and its heroes too seriously. After all, you play as cows and goats! But with the latest hero Pakko, the temporary peak of silliness has been reached.
The Fluffy Death
Pakko is a fluffy and cute cuddle bear who actually has a sunny disposition. He wants to play and cuddle, but unfortunately, he is a big, fat bear (or something similar) blessed with strong ice magic. Thus, his playful paw slaps freeze and crush his victims, his snowballs thrown without malicious intent lead to massive frostbite, and anyone he cheerfully breathes on turns into lifeless ice.
When Pakko slides joyfully on his furry bear bottom across the map, he squashes everything in his way, and on the ice trail he leaves behind, enemies slip and break all their bones. So Pakko is anything but a harmless cuddle bug! If you want to play the brutal cuddler, you’ll have to wait until January 19, then Pakko will arrive as part of the update “Exile in the North”.
In the top of the leaderboards in Diablo 3 it is a tough battle. Which class leads the solo rankings?
The ninth season of Diablo 3 began on January 6, 2017. Players who have already farmed good equipment test their luck in Greater Nephalem Rifts. In the leaderboards, solo players are close to surpassing level 100 of these Greater Rifts. Group players have already reached this level and are now fighting for higher ranks.
The strongest solo class
The Greater Nephalem Rifts are a way to prove one’s skill. It involves killing monsters and a portal boss within a set time. The better the time, the higher the ranking. While casual players are currently trying the Greater Rifts at levels 40 to 60, more skilled players are tackling much higher rifts. There are daily changes in the leaderboards as the community sets new best times.
The current rankings of the different Diablo 3 classes in the leaderboards (as of January 17, 2017)
Wizard – Level 99 – Time 13:24
Demon Hunter – Level 97 – Time 14:04
Crusader – Level 95 – Time 14:50
Witch Doctor – Level 93 – Time 14:10
Monk – Level 92 – Time 13:53
Barbarian – Level 89 – Time 14:59
How it looks when fighting in such a high Greater Rift is shown by wudijo on his YouTube channel. In the video, you’ll see how he handles the level 97 portal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWJLHX7Vcho
The leaderboard for 4 player groups is currently led by a team of two monks, one barbarian, and one witch doctor. These four players completed a Greater Rift of level 109 in 12 minutes and 27 seconds.
Often in these groups of multiple players, there are multiple supporters and one to two DPS sources. An example of this is the support barbarian, which you can see in our class builds for solo and groups.
Heroes of the Storm gets a new heroine from the Warcraft universe. After Ragnaros and Varian Wrynn are already in the game, the elf rogue Valeera Sanguinar now joins.
You can never have enough heroes! Following this motto, there is a new character in Heroes of the Storm: the blood elf rogue Valeera Sanguinar. The sexy assassin actually comes from World of Warcraft, but players of Blizzard’s online card game Hearthstone should also be familiar with the lady who has a penchant for the color red and daring décolletés. Valeera is the standard heroine for rogue decks.

But enough of Hearthstone and WoW, what can Valeera do in Heroes of the Storm? Above all, one thing: assassinate enemies! As the archetypal rogue, Valeera slips through the shadows and waits for the perfect moment to shred the opponent with a whole series of brutal damage skills.
With her skill “Vanish” she can charge in invisibly and close in on melee range. With the skills “Eviscerate” and “Sinister Strike” she can deal a lot of damage in a short time, and with “Blade Flurry” she can even deal some AoE damage. For her ultimate, she uses smoke bombs to confuse enemies or becomes completely invisible and protected from attacks with “Cloak of Shadows”.
Valeera also has a cool outfit that makes her look like a demon hunter in addition to her standard and master skins. Moreover, there is a monkey king skin for Orc Samuro and a mount in the form of a riding chicken in honor of the Moon Festival!
In Destiny, the update 2.5.0.1 is available for download and installation this evening, January 17th. Guardians on PS4 and Xbox One must download it.
The patch 2.5.0.1 will be the first update of 2017. The last update was at the launch of the Winter event “The Dawning” in mid-December. This three-week in-game event not only brought new content but also several issues, some of which are supposed to be fixed this evening.
A prominent example is Xur: Since “The Dawning,” he seems to have a random inventory. According to Bungie, the Agent of the Nine already has a mind of his own, but in recent weeks he occasionally forgets the Three of Coins and other “fixed” items in his offer. Bungie announced back in 2016 that they would investigate this problem.
Important times for today:
At 6:30 PM, the patch will be applied. As soon as you finish your activity and return to orbit, you will be taken to the login screen on PS4 and Xbox One to download and install the patch.
At 11 PM, all online players who have not yet installed 2.5.0.1 will be removed from activities to download it at the latest.
No maintenance is taking place! As soon as you have the update on your hard drive, you can continue playing.
What’s changing today – Patch notes for 2.5.0.1
The official patch notes for 2.5.0.1 are not yet known; these will be published by the developers only upon the release of the update. However, the community manager DeeJ already revealed which issues the patch addresses:
In the Plaguelands, some patrol missions are unreliable: Enemies do not always drop the target objects.
Xur’s offer: The unreliability is due to his limited inventory.
Nova Mortis and Abbadon: The weapon stability of these two weapons is not as intended. These machine guns were introduced with “The Dawning” and are variants of the Thunderlord. By the way: both weapons are still obtainable, even though the event is over. Any PvE enemies can randomly drop the needed blueprint.
Nova Mortis
Note: Once you obtain Nova Mortis, a waypoint will be displayed at Ikora in the Tower. This is incorrect; you need to speak with Zavala, not Ikora. This error will not be fixed today, but it is on the list of known issues.
Today at 7 PM, shortly after the release of update 2.5.0.1, the January Iron Banner starts. We will report on it. As soon as the patch notes are released, we will update this article.
Update: On various Crucible maps, kill volumes and invisible barriers have been set up to prevent players from leaving the map.
The upcoming survival RPG Conan Exiles is set in the dark fantasy world created by author Robert E. Howard. In the game, you explore the land of the damned, which has a deep history.
Your adventures in Conan Exiles begin as a criminal waiting to die on the cross, but you are rescued by Conan the Barbarian. You flee into the land of the damned, a harsh area filled with dangers and monsters. But this land also has a story that you can learn about during your adventures.
Everywhere you find traces of an ancient civilization that once ruled this area. Ruins, decaying towers, and once magnificent bridges testify that this civilization was highly developed.
The story of a fallen civilization
Many statues buried in the sand depict insect-like humanoids, and you may wonder if these were the former rulers of this land. What happened to them? Why did their civilization fall?
You can find clues about their history everywhere, and their once-mighty magic can still be felt, keeping some guardians “alive.” You will trace the ghosts of the past and hear voices from a long-forgotten time speaking to you. This way, you will gather more information about this culture and slowly uncover the secrets of the rich lore.
Explore the mysteries
In the center of the land, you find the Nameless City, apparently the former capital of this civilization. Horrifying monsters dwell there, and countless dangers await you. However, you will also find many treasures in the underground chambers and uncover ancient secrets. But only the mightiest among you should venture there.
But dangers also await you in other parts of the land, such as the Yog-worshipping Darfari cannibals, thieves, and pirates. Wild beasts lurk in the caves, and horrors await you in the mines and temples that will freeze the blood in your veins.
Always proceed with caution. For if you come into contact with dark magic or demonic or undead creatures, the corruption will slowly spread within you, corrupting and destroying you. But you will experience all of this yourself when the PC version of Conan Exiles enters early access on January 31.
In The Division, the high-end gear pieces have various talents. Which ones are particularly worthwhile since 1.4 and 1.5?
As with most shooters, weapons take center stage in Tom Clancy’s The Division: Which weapon is the best, how can I get the most out of it, and which ones are in the meta? This is what most players are interested in.
However, the experienced agent knows: Just having weapons won’t get you far in the post-apocalypse. Particularly, the armor pieces and their stats are crucial in determining whether you emerge from a confrontation as a winner or a loser.
The stats on the gear pieces are complex: You will find various main attributes, higher and lower bonuses, mod slots, and talents. With the gear sets and the named gear pieces, there are also numerous special features.
The talents of high-end armor – List
Each high-end armor piece has a random talent. These were mostly overhauled with the 1.4 update:
Accomplished: Rewards for achievements are tripled.
Astute: The first 3 shots in the magazine have a 5% higher chance of scoring a critical hit.
Cunning: After reloading, the next shot from this weapon has a 10% higher critical hit chance.
Decisive: Headshots with the pistol deal 35% more damage.
Enduring: When health is in the last segment, it regenerates continuously to fill the segment.
Forceful: Increases armor by 15% when the individual skill is active.
Inventive: Increases skill power by 15% at full health.
Nimble: Moving from cover to cover in combat heals 2% of maximum health for every meter traveled.
Perceptive: The bonus from “Gold find” is increased by 15%.
Prosperous: Critical headshots grant credits.
Rapid: The cooldown for healing skills is reduced by 15%.
Reckless: Increases damage by 8% and incoming damage by 10%.
Recovered: Damage done while moving from cover to cover regenerates for 5 seconds once the goal is reached.
Refreshed: Healing is increased by 30% when the last segment of the health bar is reached.
Rehabilitated: Heals 2% every second when you are affected by a status effect.
Rejuvenated: Using a first-aid kit removes all negative status effects.
Relentless: 5% of damage from skills is returned as healing.
Resourceful: Healing that affects you also applies to your skill objects.
Robust: Increases armor in cover by 10%.
Savage: Critical hit chance is increased by 7% against targets outside their cover.
Specialized: 200% of firearms and stamina are added to the skill power.
Steadfast: Health regeneration occurs twice as fast while in cover.
Sturdy: Increases armor by 15% if the cover is not left for at least 4 seconds.
Technical: Increases skill power by 15% when the individual skill is active.
Tenacious: Increases damage for 10 seconds by 10% when a first-aid kit is used.
Which talents are “the best” always depends on your build and playstyle. Recently, these have proven particularly valuable:
Rapid and Vigorous: Particularly interesting for healers. However, since every agent likely carries a healing skill, these are welcome talents.
Specialized: With nearly every build, you can rely on a specialized backpack. Top talent.
Reckless: A Reckless chest piece is particularly strong for the D3-FNC build as the downside is not too harsh thanks to your shield. However, the best ballistic vest currently in the game is Barret’s bulletproof vest.
Resourceful: If you play with skills like the turret, you benefit from this.
Savage: Once, Savage gloves were mandatory. Now they are not as dominant, but they can still enhance your agents.
Nimble: A useful talent that can be combined with the character talent “Tactical Advantage.” Move from cover to cover to increase damage and heal the agent.
Accomplished: With Accomplished knee pads, you can efficiently farm loot, like with this farming method.
