With For Honor the closed beta is just around the corner. What time does it start?

After the big update, I spent a few hours in Marvel Heroes again in the last days. It has improved significantly. The removal of skill points has done the game good – it was unnecessarily complicated before. I always felt like I was playing heroes wrong because I hadn’t read a big “this is how you play this thing right” guide. By the way, I really mean “this thing”, the one from the Fantastic Four.
Now I can, as described in the video, allocate points on-the-fly, take them back, and experiment.
With all the heroes and missions, Marvel Heroes offers a lot of gameplay content that can keep you occupied forever. And surprisingly, the free-to-play system is unobtrusive. I have now unlocked 15 characters – all for free – with 175 Eternity Splinters, you can buy a random hero. And they drop quite well.
I’ve managed to bring about 4 or 5 heroes to the highest level without spending a dime on the game. And also without “You write about us, we’ll give you this” stories.
With the update, some minor bugs and gameplay quirks have disappeared. I haven’t encountered any new difficulties, even though the update is so massive. Great job by the team.
Marvel Heroes deserves a second chance on PS4 and Xbox One
I would wish that the rumors turn out to be true and Marvel Heroes actually comes to PS4 – Xbox One would surely be nice too. If enough players see Marvel Heroes with “fresh eyes” and without preconceived notions, the MMO could flourish like The Elder Scrolls Online did two years ago.
Marvel Heroes is a Cinderella story. It proves that an MMO can go from “really bad” to “great” when the team works on it and nurtures its baby with heart and brains.
The developers of Skyforge have released a large statistic about the SciFi MMO. It revealed shocking numbers!
In Skyforge, the god MMO by My.com, you fight as an immortal god-being against various extraterrestrial scum that want to devastate and plunder your beautiful planet Aelion. One might think that the hordes of Mantids, Oceanids, and Gorgonids are dangerous enough, but far from it! Over two million gods died not heroically in the fight for Aelion’s freedom, but through sheer clumsiness!
Gravity Kills!
According to a recently published statistic about Skyforge, exactly 2,062,720 player heroes perished in 2016, by breaking their necks from falls or drowning terribly in water. Additionally, the gods of Aelion died like flies in PvE, while only half as many immortals met their end in PvP (temporarily). Skyforge seems to be clearly favored by PvE fans.
The giant boss Tol-Monter is surely quite the killer? Not at all! The Paladin training has claimed more lives!
It is also interesting to see who has the players’ lives on their hands in PvE. While the “Relentless Astara” with 1.5 million kills is the worst butcher, seemingly harmless “Eggs” have taken out around 900,000 people. Equally bizarre: The “Paladin Training” is apparently a real death trap, as it has eliminated 635,410 aspiring fighters. Nevertheless, these numbers still do not come close to the over two million deaths from falls and drowning!
More funny details: Players of Skyforge are major pyromaniacs, as 4,059,705 fireworks rockets were launched in 2016, and the costume “Crusader Armor” was the most popular. The good old toga was, however, at least in third place of the top outfits. If there were a parachute with diving gear, that combo would surely have landed in first place.
Also impressive: Almost 8 billion hours of gameplay. This translates to nearly 900,000 years that players alone spent with Skyforge in 2016.
The work on redesigning the world of the sandbox MMORPG Albion Online is progressing. Now the Royal Continent is getting a new layout.
The developers of Albion Online place a lot of emphasis on balancing, not only in the game systems but also in the layout and design of the world. For example, the team wants to avoid a large city becoming the only trading center in the world. This would render other cities unnecessary. Additionally, the world should not be too large to prevent ghost zones where hardly anyone stays. When the developers looked at the Royal Continent, they noticed that they could eliminate these problem areas with relatively little effort.
Map like a pie chart
The continent is now divided differently, resembling a pie chart. Each “slice” represents a biome with a city. In the center, where the biomes meet, there is a central city that serves as the hub of the PvP gameplay. Continuous sieges take place around this location. However, players can enter and exit the city through tunnels without needing to participate in the sieges. Through three ports, you can access the low, mid, and high-end parts of the Outlands, the “wild” land where guilds can stake their territories and fight for them.
New layout leads to better gameplay flow
The new layout of the Royal Continent is designed to ensure that every player has a pleasant start into the game. Because you begin on this continent and familiarize yourself with all aspects of the MMO. You gather resources, craft items, upgrade your hero, learn about the land and the lore, and take your first steps into PvP.
The new layout also leads to the center of the continent. You start on the outside, gradually working your way inward, and when you reach the central city, you will have a good grasp of the game, allowing you to visit the Outlands.
The changes will also refocus trade. The five cities (one for each biome) should create a better economic cycle. Each city has a purpose and is important for trade. The same goes for each zone of the continent. There should be no ghost zones. Additionally, the new arrangement aims to lead to a more believable game world. Albion Online is currently in its final beta phase and is preparing for release this year.

Crowfall is somewhat different from other MMOs. On one hand, the campaign worlds are not persistent – and you create a character class from body parts for each campaign.
In Crowfall, you also create a hero, but basically, you are a kind of supernatural being that needs a new body, called a vessel, for each visit to one of the dying campaign worlds. So when you venture from your Eternal Kingdom into one of the campaign worlds to gather resources, you need to find a vessel. You can find this using body parts.
Find corpses and combine their parts
In the game, you visit graves as a Crow Soul, dig up corpses, and use them as vessels, which determine your character class. However, you do not take just any mummified body you find. You are welcome to combine. An arm from this one, a leg from that one, and the head from the one up there is quite nice. Depending on which body parts you combine through necromancy, you gain certain abilities that affect your class.
You start in a temple of your people and can imbue your first vessel, which has a quality level of White. During your adventures in the world, you will find other body parts or ensure that you find some. Because if you kill another player, you can collect parts from their vessel and use them for yourself. You will also find vessels of the levels Green, Blue, Purple, or Orange, which you can only use if you master necromancy.
Body parts affect your attributes
Each vessel affects your attributes such as strength, agility, intelligence, zeal, and constitution. You build your desired character with body parts. If you improve an attribute by using a new vessel part, this will naturally affect all values associated with this attribute. Therefore, you must proceed strategically when choosing your body parts.
Necromancy is a high art that you must master. For example, to “create” a resurrected head, you need two enhanced eyes. You can use the “Eye of a Scout” to improve perception and an “Eye of the Master” to enhance assembly or an “Eye of the Archer” to increase critical hit chance. The manufacturing process is as follows:
Convert dried body parts into resurrected body parts. In this step, you can also use ingredients.
Combine dried body parts into vessels of the appropriate type. There are unique recipes for each vessel type, all of which have similar requirements. Centaur-like vessels are an exception, as they are very hard to create.
The PvP MMORPG Crowfall is currently in an alpha phase and is continually being developed.
Patch 1.7 for Overwatch is on the horizon. We have all the changes for you.
For several weeks, the developers have been testing improvements and fine-tuning the balance of Overwatch on the hero shooter’s PTR. Meanwhile, it seems they are satisfied with the changes and have finalized the update. The focus of the patch was on adjusting Ana, D.Va, and Roadhog, all of whom had to endure nerfs. Only Sombra saw some improvements.
The majority of the adjustments should be familiar to fans, but here are all the details on balancing:
Ana
The healing bonus from the Biotic Grenade has been reduced by 50%.
The enhancement and weakening effect of the biotic grenade now lasts only 4 seconds (previously 5).
D.Va
Hit points have been increased from 200 to 400.
Armor has been reduced from 400 to 200.
The fusion cannons now deal 2 damage (previously 3), but fire 11 projectiles (previously 8).
Roadhog
Targets that are hooked will now break free if they break line of sight with Roadhog before being pulled in.
Targets caught by the hook will be significantly slowed in addition to being stunned.
Targets caught by the hook should now land reliably in front of Roadhog.
Sombra
The time to hack a target has been reduced from 1.0 seconds to 0.8 seconds.
The cooldown for hacking has been reduced from 12 to 8 seconds.
Furthermore, the kill feed of the game has been improved, and players now have the option to bring up to 4 emotes, spray logos, and voicelines into battle simultaneously.
As of today, January 24, 2017 – probably in the evening hours – the event “Year of the Rooster” will also begin, running until February 13, which makes it likely that the patch will go live simultaneously with the start of the event.

Although the raid “The Nighthold” was just opened in the live version of World of Warcraft last week, which brought the first tier set of Legion into the game, the developers are already diligently working on the successor. Currently, an early version of the next major update – “Patch 7.2: The Tomb of Sargeras” – is available on the official test server. The data miners from mmo-champion have already extracted the models of the next armor sets from the data. We have sorted these images by class.
Please keep in mind that the images of the armor sets are only current impressions – it is quite possible that the appearance will change in the coming months and additional effects will be added.
In general, the Tier 20 set is designed such that with increasing difficulty come more visual effects and a more impressive appearance. Blizzard seems to be heavily inspired by the old sets from The Burning Crusade (Tier 6) this time – many new armors are advancements or graphical updates of old, popular sets.
Set bonuses have not yet been found in the game data.
