In For Honor, Ubisoft responds to criticism about steel prices. Players are not supposed to unlock everything.
Since the launch of For Honor, the in-game currency steel has been criticized. The steel prices for emotes, ornaments, executions, effects, or outfits are considered too high, while the steel gain after matches is too low. This frustrates many players.
Just a few days ago, a Reddit post caused a stir in which a community member calculated: It takes over 2.5 years to unlock all current game content. Assuming you earn 1200 steel every day. Alternatively, all items can be purchased for 732 euros. The criticism of the steel prices has flared up again, and some even speak of “racketeering.” Now Ubisoft responds to this.
Everything works as intended, says Ubisoft
Yesterday, community developer Emile Gauthier and game director Damien Kieken addressed the accusations. According to Kieken, everything works as intended. The game design of For Honor is set up so that players cannot and should not unlock everything. It was never the intention for players to have access to everything.
He compares For Honor in this regard to World of Warcraft or MOBAs: They also do not try to unlock all content for all heroes. For Ubisoft’s melee game, they expected players to focus on one to three characters, for which they can then collect the items they like.
According to Kieken, this expectation is also met: Current data shows that most players only focus on one hero class. Only a few have more than three favorite heroes.
Cosmetic items only become interesting in the endgame
The developers continue to emphasize that cosmetics are intended as end-game content. This is also supported by the data: Most players level up their heroes and bring them to the maximum gear level of 108 first. Only then do cosmetic items become interesting.
According to Kieken, they could have also reduced these cosmetic contents – making it possible to unlock all content for all heroes – but they wanted to give players a variety of items for character customization and individualization. The underlying idea is similar to a clothing store. You don’t buy all the T-shirts at once, just the ones you like.
New outfits are on the way
It has also been confirmed that new cosmetic items are already on the way. Fresh elite outfits are expected to make their way into the game this week. Since new content in For Honor always comes on Thursdays, we expect them to go live tomorrow, on March 23rd.
Niantic has now stated the reasons why trading will be activated so late in Pokémon GO.
Trainers have been waiting for the trading function since the game’s release in the summer of 2016. Back then, one wondered how Niantic could release a new interactive Pokémon title without building in a trading option?
Niantic are the developers of the augmented reality hit Pokémon GO and have now cited reasons for the delayed activation of trading in the game.
Pokémon GO Spoofers are to Blame
During the Animation of Display Convention (AOD), David Hollin spoke about highlights and milestones of Pokémon GO. He also talked about changes that will come to the game in the future.
Hollin himself started at Niantic in April 2015 and works there as a designer/technical artist. He had the idea for the AR mode that can be used in Pokémon GO to catch Pokémon.
Currently, work is being done on the trading function, explains Hollin. The developers are taking their time to release the feature. He cited bots and spoofers as the reasons why the trading function has not yet been released. His words on this: “If you think bots and spoofers are bad now…”.
He implies that more users of these illegal services would exist if the trading function were already integrated into the game. They could exploit the trading feature and trade with trainers around the world or catch every important Pokémon, creating an unfair competitive edge in trading.
Furthermore, he would prefer the trade function to be active only when the respective trading partners are really next to each other. Similar to how it was in the “good old days” with Gameboys.
He did say, however, that he “would prefer” this, suggesting that Niantic is currently exploring other options for how trading could work.
Hollin did not mention a specific release date for the trading function in Pokémon GO.
For PS4 and Xbox One players of Diablo 3, we provide a guide to the Seasons on console, covering start, content, and leaderboards.
Soon console players can finally participate in the Seasons of Diablo 3. But what are Seasons really? How do you participate? What content is available? When does the Season end on PS4 and Xbox One? We answer the most important questions on these topics.
Start time for Season 10 on PS4 and Xbox One – time and date
The 10th Season starts for consoles on April 1st (no joke) at 02:00 (DST). You will play the same season as PC and Mac players.
What are Seasons?
A Season in Diablo 3 is active for approximately three months. During this time, you can create special characters participating in the season. The character starts from scratch, has no gold, and begins at level 1. The progress of seasonal characters is initially shared only with other seasonal characters.
Source: Battle.net – fan art
Only at the end of a Season are they converted to non-seasonal characters and share their equipment, gold collections, and progress with your other characters.
If you want to start over with friends and collect all equipment again, a Season is a great option.
Create a seasonal character
To create a seasonal character, you must be logged into PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Then, activate “Seasonal Hero” – this option is always available during a season. Now select your class and off you go!
If you do not want to create a new character for the season, you can choose the Reincarnation option on an existing character. This character will be transformed into a seasonal character and set to level 1. All equipment, Paragon points, properties from Kanai’s Cube, gold, and so on will only be available at the end of the season.
The Seasonal Journey on PS4 and Xbox One
The seasonal journey refers to a combination of various challenges that are only available to seasonal heroes. Complete various milestone objectives of the seasonal journey to receive exclusive cosmetic rewards. You can display your progress in the seasonal journey at any time by pressing left on the D-pad or accessing the corresponding function in the menu.
Haedrig’s Gift
Through the mentioned seasonal journey, you also benefit from Haedrig’s Gift. This reward is granted for reaching stages 2, 3, and 4 of the seasonal journey. Each gift contains parts for your class set.
If you complete the three stages of the seasonal journey, you will have a complete set for your class in hand. However, there is only one complete set per season, so you should carefully consider which hero you will open the gifts with.
With each new season, the class sets rotate and new gifts are available. In Season 10, you can expect the following sets:
Barbarian – The Legacy of Raekor
Crusader – Akkhan’s Armor
Demon Hunter – Marauder’s Gear
Monk – Inna’s Mantra
Witch Doctor – Zunimassa’s Trickery
Wizard – Delseres Magnum Opus
Season Achievements
Challenges make playing Diablo 3 more interesting, as there are tough objectives for you to pursue and hopefully complete. The season-specific achievements are difficult tasks that can only be completed by seasonal heroes.
You need to fulfill a few tasks to complete the stages of the seasonal journey. In addition, you earn challenge points for your seasonal overall score.
Season Leaderboards for PS4 and Xbox One
By completing achievements or Greater Nephalem Rifts, you increase your total score. You can compare your gameplay progress with your friends or other players around the world. You can access this leaderboard through the corresponding menu item or in the main menu.
The End of a Season on Console
At the end of a season, you retain all the gathered rewards, which will be transferred to non-seasonal characters. This includes:
Equipment
Gold
Completed Challenges
Unlocked properties in Kanai’s Cube
Learned Recipes
Experience Points
You have 30 days after a season to collect the transferred items from the mailbox in any city.

The Hijak Ruston has been reduced to the essentials by the developers. It is a compact lightweight with an extremely flat design. If you like to sit close to the asphalt in your car, the elegant Ruston might be the right car for you.
The price of the Hijak Ruston should appeal to many players, as it is far from the million prices of typical new cars. The car is now in stock at Legendary Motorsports and costs you only 430,000 GTA$.
Of course, you can customize the sleek racer to your own wishes and ideas. In the video by Almighty Gamer, the tuning options of the Hijak Ruston are presented to you.

Today at 6 PM, the last livestream from Bungie about “The Age of Triumph” will take place. A week later, on March 28th, this last content update for Destiny 1 goes live. In today’s stream, the developers will talk about the sandbox update and the raid weapons, armor pieces, and ornaments. We will accompany it with a live ticker. However, this morning, Weapon Day will be celebrated first. Banshee-44 has a fresh inventory.

TERA, the action-packed online role-playing game from Bluehole Studios, was successfully re-released on Steam in January. This seems to have benefited the game, as according to statements from the local publisher Gameforge, the player numbers have permanently increased.
TERA has been on the market for 5 years and has experienced some ups and downs. This includes a copyright dispute with the Lineage developers at NCSoft and an unpleasant back-and-forth regarding the Steam version. This was successfully distributed by the US publisher of the game – En Masse – until the European publisher Gameforge and the Russian counterpart Destiny Development intervened, as they each wanted to offer their own clients on Steam.
https://youtu.be/t50uGrGSop8
TERA – Successful on Steam
As the US version was unusually successful on Steam and at one point even became the most popular MMO on Valve’s distribution platform, Gameforge seemed keen to follow suit. Therefore, on January 31, 2017, finally the Steam launch of the Gameforge version of TERA took place. This was also successful and managed to attract many new players.
According to Gameforge, however, these were not just one-hit wonders. Rather, numerous players are still loyal to TERA, and the player count has permanently increased by 50 percent.
Tera has consistently remained among the top 30 most popular free-to-play games on Steam and has received predominantly positive reviews, according to Gameforge. So, it is a good time for TERA players.
TERA – New Content – Moon Dancer and Console Version
Especially since the developers continue to provide significant content updates, such as the “gleftastical” Moon Dancer as a new class, which is already coming in April and for which you can already reserve a name.
Crafting items in Mass Effect: Andromeda is complex. We tell you how it works in our Mass Effect: Andromeda Crafting Guide.
The game world of Mass Effect: Andromeda is packed with tasks to complete. One can easily lose sight of the fact that weapons and equipment can also be crafted in ME:A. Those who completely neglect crafting will encounter problems with enemies sooner or later – at least on higher difficulty levels. We clearly explain in this article how crafting works in Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Crafting weapons, equipment, and augmentations is divided into 2 broad steps: Research and Development.
Step 1: Research
Before weapons, armors, and augmentations can be crafted, they must first be researched. You can view already unlocked “ideas” in the “Research” window at a research station, such as on the Tempest (see screenshot).
The crafting station on the Tempest is always available – there are also others in the game world.
For research, you need research data from the respective faction. Weapons and equipment from the Milky Way require research points from the Milky Way – the same applies to all recipes from the Heleus Cluster and the Remnant. You obtain this research data by scanning in the game world when you discover foreign technologies, scan defeated enemies, complete missions, or through a perk of the Andromeda Initiative.
Select a weapon or equipment that you want to research – in this example, the N7 Eagle Pistol. Since my Ryder already has a higher level, the pistol at Rank 1 is no longer sufficient, so I directly research up to Rank 5. Each time, the costs of research data increase, while the weapon becomes stronger as it simultaneously loses weight and gains accuracy.
Step 2: Development
Once the research on the desired item is completed, you can switch to the “Development” menu. Here you see all available blueprints listed that you have already unlocked. Search in the list for the researched weapon (in this example, the “N7 Eagle Pistol”) and ensure that you have selected the correct level – you can recognize this, as with research, by the Roman numerals.
Directly under the weapon, the necessary resources required to craft the weapon are displayed. By pressing the X key (PC version), you receive more detailed information about the resources.
The necessary resources can be found in ME:A at various locations. You can either collect them while exploring a planet, drill with the Nomad, purchase them from traders, or obtain them through unlocked perks of the Andromeda Initiative. It is also possible to dismantle unwanted weapons in your inventory to gain additional resources.
Once you have the resources, you can develop the weapon and equip it with augmentations. Each weapon has different slots, identifiable by the hexagons directly under the necessary resources.
In the case of the N7 Eagle Pistol, there are 4 slots. Augmentations can be integrated into a weapon to improve or change its characteristics. The selection is vast: Do you want your weapon to fire seeking plasma instead of a bullet? Should the weapon enhance your biotic powers? Or should the weapon have infinite ammunition by simply consuming a portion of your health points?
Augmentations are important, as they make the weapons better than those you can find in the wild. However, they are not strictly necessary.
Augmentations significantly enhance your equipment – sometimes even with negative consequences.
Once you have selected all augmentations, confirm the process. Bang! The new weapon is now in your inventory and can be equipped in the “Loadout” before starting the next mission.
One last tip: Especially at the beginning of the game, one has little research data. Concentrate on a few weapons and armors and do not research “wildly” – the data is not enough for that, and you will only get mediocre equipment.
Who wouldn’t want to create their own maps in Overwatch ? That might be possible someday.
Overwatch is undoubtedly one of the most successful shooters, but it still has some flaws that particularly annoy fans. Many shooters come with a map editor built in, allowing dedicated players to create their own maps.
By now, Overwatch has a server browser that lets fans set their own rules. Now there has been a question in the forum about when, – and if at all – a map editor is planned.
Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, responded (as often) quickly to this:
“We are very open to the release of a map editor for Overwatch. But because Overwatch was created with a brand new engine, this is not a small matter or something that could happen soon. We have noted this in our long-term plan and strongly believe in player-created content. But there are still many challenges and it is still a long way before we can make our editor public.”
With this, fans have received an answer, but it likely doesn’t make anyone truly happy. Because when Blizzard says “not anytime soon,” it is a bit further away than “Soon” – whether it will happen in this decade remains to be seen.
How exactly such a map editor could look is also still questionable, as many of the objects used by Blizzard on the maps are unique or a fixed part of the environment. Whether it can simply be “extracted” is doubtful. Some objects also do not have textures on all sides – like houses, as they are never seen from above. It would thus require a lot of post-processing to release at least a “simple” editor.
In Destiny, the “Age of Triumph” marks the end of one of the longest questlines in the game: The path to the mountaintop.
“The Mountaintop” is the final step of an elaborate Crucible questline that many PvP non-enthusiasts have never completed. When the “Year 2” Triumph moments in Destiny went live, it came back into focus and many Guardians tackled the rocky climb to the mountaintop. Because the mountaintop was a triumph moment that they wanted to check off in their triumphs record.
“The Mountaintop” begins with Lord Shaxx in the quest “Forged in the Crucible.” This is followed by 7 more quest steps that take you all across the Crucible and require quite a bit of effort.
The individual tasks are not all that difficult, but they require a lot of endurance from you. Anyone who generally plays little PvP eventually gave up on this quest. You can read all quest steps to the mountaintop here.
Age of Triumph removes the mountaintop
Once you have completed the eight quest steps and are at Crucible rank 3, Lord Shaxx offers you weekly Crucible bounties. Here you must regularly show your skills in a specific PvP mode, and in the end, there are tasty rewards.
Those who could or wanted to never complete the mountaintop do not have access to these bounties. This is set to change with Age of Triumph.
As Bungie recently announced, “The Mountaintop” will be discontinued with the release of the Age of Triumph. After that, it can no longer be fully completed. If you are in the middle of a quest step, you can still complete it after March 28, but no further steps will follow.
It is important to note:
In order to receive weekly Crucible bounties, the completion of the mountaintop is no longer necessary with Age of Triumph.
Once this questline is discontinued, the legendary “The Hothead” rocket launcher will no longer be available.
Lord Shaxx brings two bounties with AoT
Lord Shaxx brings two weekly bounties with Age of Triumph that will offer rewards at Nightfall level. “Generosity” is a motto at AoT, so you can get all the items you have been wanting for months before Destiny 2.

The general changes in patch 2.5.0 include two new features: The armor stash and the storage of crafting materials.
The Armor Stash in Diablo 3 – How does it work?
Players can now save up to five different builds per character in the armor stash.
This feature can be found in the town of each act.
When you save a build, the game creates a snapshot of the equipment, socketed gems, active and passive skills, and properties from Kanai’s Cube.
When equipping a saved build, items swap places between character and storage.
Storing Crafting Materials
Crafting materials that you receive as loot from enemies or through salvaging now find a place in a new section of your inventory. This takes up less space in your loot bag. You can access the materials via a button on your inventory.
Class Changes
Crusader
Glorious Shield
The rune Divine Judgment has been revised so that its effect also applies to enemies who are immune to CC.
Barbarian
Seismic Slam
The rune Rumbling has been revised. It now consumes all fury to increase the damage-over-time effect by 15% weapon damage per fury point consumed.
Fixed Errors
Demon Hunter
Piercing – Ricochet
An error was fixed that caused the second jump granted by this rune to sometimes fail when enemies were very close together.
Items – Primal Ancients
Ancient items are intended for players who want to perfect their gear. Legendary and set items have a chance to roll as Ancient items. These items are significantly rarer than Primal items and have perfect stats on all affixes including the legendary ability of the item.
Ancient items only have a chance to drop after you have completed a Greater Nephalem Rift level 70 solo with your account. This requirement only needs to be fulfilled once per game mode (Hardcore or Non-Hardcore and Season or Non-Season). This requirement will be needed again with the start of each new season. Once this requirement is fulfilled, all characters in that game mode can benefit from it.
The stats of the items automatically adjust to your class with which you receive the item.
Ancient items are disenchanted into 15 Forgotten Souls
Primal items are disenchanted into 3 Forgotten Souls.
The requirements for participating in public games at certain difficulties have been changed from the current Paragon level to the highest completion of a Greater Nephalem Rift.
Qual I – No Requirement
Qual VII – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 30
Qual VIII – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 35
Qual IX – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 40
Qual X – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 45
Qual XI – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 50
Qual XII – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 55
Qual XIII – Greater Nephalem Rift Solo Level 60
These requirements only apply to PC/Mac players

Bonus Acts have been removed:
With this change, completing five bounties now grants you a Great Horadric Chest.
These chests contain the total amount of loot and materials that were previously obtained from the two different chests. This way, you can freely decide which bounties you want to do without missing out on bonus loot.
Quality of Life Improvement
You can now allocate 100 Paragon points at once when you hold down the CTRL key and left-click.
The new Pokémon GO update 0.59.1 is now being activated. With this patch, you will receive the coveted special items as a guaranteed reward in Pokémon GO.
The developers of Pokémon GO have created a new update that guarantees you the evolution items in the game. The update 0.59.1 for Android and 1.29.1 for iOS is currently rolling out. This means that the game will be released gradually for different regions of the world.
An exact release date for patch 0.59.1 in Germany has not yet been set. It is expected to be available in our app stores in a few hours.
Patch notes 0.59.1 Android / 1.29.1 iOS
The new patch should please many trainers who are looking for evolution items. In recent weeks, there have been many speculations about how the distribution of special items is connected. In the latest theory, trainers suspect that these items are distributed at certain times. But now the developers of Pokémon GO are showing some heart and guarantee you one random special item per week if you play Pokémon GO diligently every day.
You will receive a randomly chosen evolution item on your 7-day streak at PokéStops. This means that if you have received the “First PokéStop of the Day” bonus for seven consecutive days, you will receive a random special item as a reward on the 7th day.
Minor text corrections.
In the past, trainers have negatively noted that the distribution of these evolution items seemed rather random. Some trainers currently have ten or more of these special items in their inventory, while others have yet to receive any. It is encouraging that one of these coveted items is guaranteed if you visit a PokéStop for seven days in a row.
The Elder Scrolls Online is celebrating the Fool’s Festival and offers a lot of funny items and costumes. First and foremost are silly disguises as a fool or even as the ominous “ass with ears”. What this means in ESO, you can find out here.
The Elder Scrolls Online celebrates, along with Christmas, Black Friday, and Halloween, also April Fool’s Day with a corresponding holiday incorporated into the game lore. However, while April Fool’s Day on Earth is just one day, in Tamriel, the celebration lasts for over a week!
From March 23 (3 PM) to April 4 at 4 PM, ESO will be full of fun and pranks.
ESO – Fool’s Festival – What’s it about?
The Fool’s Festival takes place in the cities of Ebenheart, Vulkhel Guard, and Daggerfall. Pavilions have been set up there, and some rather clever fools are wandering around, disguising themselves as the respective faction rulers King Jorunn, Queen Ayrenn, or King Emeric. The false (?) monarchs have fun fool quests for you every day, for which you will receive a gift for completing them all.
The fool gift boxes can contain the following items, among others:
Headpiece “Fool’s Crown”
A batch of funny new consumables
Unique souvenirs from the Fool’s Festival:
Cherry Blossom Branch
Fool’s Pie
New housing items:
Small and large Fool’s Trees
Fool’s Banner
In addition to the prizes, you can also earn new titles (“Royal Fool”) and Achievements.
ESO – Where can I find the ass with ears?
The fool kings are not the only source of foolish stuff. The Cash Shop of The Elder Scrolls Online also offers new items for the Fool’s Festival. Among them are:
Costume “Royal Jester”
Two-tone Rooster Hat
Fool’s Cap and Mask
Personality “The Jester”
“Ass with Ears Fool’s Cap”
Especially the last one makes you curious about how it looks?
We will find out at the latest on March 24.
ZeniMax is inviting all players to post the silliest prank pictures online, in the ESO forum, on Instagram or Twitter. The relevant links are in the source.

Hi-Rez presented the new Paladins patch OB 46. The new champion Lex is coming into the game and there will also be a new PvE challenge. The patch may come as early as tomorrow. We have the highlights.
Hi-Rez recently introduced patch Open Beta 46. A new champion enters the field: Lex, the Hand of Justice. There is also a new PvE challenge that you can do in coop. With OB 46, you’ll be able to destroy cards. There is also a buff for Inara and a nerf for Grohk.
Paladins Patch OB46 brings Lex, a new flanker
A new patch, a new champ. Lex takes the field and maintains law and order in Paladins with his double magnums. He is known as “The Hand of Justice” and stands for the law.
Lex belongs to the flanker class and has a skill that makes him a bounty hunter. The ability is called “Retribution” and randomly selects an opposing champion as a target. If you eliminate the target with Lex, you will receive extra credits. The higher the “kill streak” of the opposing champion, the greater the credit reward for Lex. There hasn’t been a bounty feature in Paladins before.

The new PvE challenge turns the map “Primal Court” into a real minefield. Here you will team up with your team against 5 enhanced Kinessa bots in coop. The Kinessas spread their “Throttle Mines” everywhere, dealing deadly damage. Move carefully, the mines can lurk around every corner.
In the future, players will be allowed to destroy cards that they already own. For destroying the cards, you will receive essence. Beware: If you already have a deck that contained the destroyed card, the deck will be deleted!
Fernando becomes a transformer! “FN-01 Helios” skin
Fernando receives a legendary skin: FN-01 Helios. You can get the skin from the “Helios Force” box.
Champion adjustments: Inara receives a buff, Grohk a nerf
With OB 46, some champions receive adjustments. Players complained right after Inara’s release that she was too weak. Grohk’s damage was considered way too high for a support. This will be adjusted.
Inara Buff
Inara’s health has been increased from 4400 to 4500
Earthshatter: The cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 10 seconds.
Seismic Strike: The damage has been increased from 200 to 500.

The team has big plans for the summer: Mordor is set to receive a proper, large expansion for LOTRO after many years.
Additionally, the team promises a revision of the animations and vows to continue the story of The Lord of the Rings even after the lore known from the books has seemingly come to an end. A new race, the High Elves, will also be introduced to The Lord of the Rings Online.
Update 20 brings 3 new regions, 90 quests
Today, update 20 for The Lord of the Rings Online was released, which is set to pave the way for the major showdown in Mordor.
With update 20, the Epic Story begins in Volume IV, Book 8. There will be the confrontation between the forces of the West and Sauron’s armies in the Battle of the Black Gate. Here, Aragorn attempts to distract Sauron’s eye from this “Frodo doing his thing” stealth mission. Perhaps you have heard of it.
In total, three new regions are coming to The Lord of the Rings Online: the Dead Marshes, Dagorlad, and the Slag Hills. The developers promise more than 90 tasks and 30 deeds.
Two new dungeons are added: the Teeth of Mordor and the Maggot Holes.
The update has been live for a few hours now, and Sauron’s armies are waiting for your visit. Players are to gather supplies and armor to prepare the army of the West for battle. Unique rewards await.
You don’t see this every day in For Honor: A player dodges an attack with the Berserker’s jump emote.
In For Honor, each hero has several gestures, called “emotes”. With these, you can trigger specific animations of your character that usually express joy or anger – or are just amusing, like this pony emote.
Typically, players use the gestures at the beginning or end of matches. During a fight, they are just a distraction, as during the animation you are left vulnerable to the enemy.
However, if you want to activate an emote in battle, the Berserker’s jump might be worth a try. The Redditor TheRealCrayfish shows the community how he managed to dodge an attack with it. See for yourself:
In this GIF, you see the end of a melee fight. Apparently, the Berserker was able to win the round with a Conqueror by his side. To everyone’s delight, the Berserker performed the jump emote – just as the Conqueror prepared to strike. Although in For Honor you can also hit your teammates, this hit did not count.
The reactions to this clip vary: some praise the perfect timing, while others joke that this is the new emote meta. Others emphasize that it is difficult for a Berserker to hit teammates with attacks. The gesture had no impact on why the hit did not count.
In any case: This clip is cool to watch and directly motivates some players to try out all emotes during a fight to possibly find a gesture that is useful in a duel. At the moment, however, it doesn’t seem like bouncing Berserkers or lawbringers riding ponies will dominate the battlefields in For Honor in the future.
The uproar over the bad animations in Mass Effect: Andromeda has now resulted in something good. Misogynistic attacks against developer Allie Rose-Marie Leost ultimately triggered a wave of donations for Girls Make Games.
The animations, especially the facial expressions in Mass Effect: Andromeda are a problem. Some people on the internet have singled out a woman as the culprit. She is supposedly to blame for everything. Developer Allie Rose-Marie Leost was targeted and fiercely criticized in a blog. It was implied that she was incompetent and had “slept her way up” at EA to get a job that does not match her qualifications.
This was followed by numerous personal attacks against Leost across social media, prompting even BioWare to feel the need to defend their former employee.
Alexandria Neonakis, an artist working for Naughty Dog, expressed her anger and outrage over these attacks against Leost on her personal Twitter account. As a woman in gaming, she felt personally affected by these attacks.
And at every damn step some asshole likes to pass it all off as “well you’re a girl so obviously that helped”
As a woman in the gaming industry, it is difficult. Constantly, one’s competence is questioned. The accusation: One only has the current position because one is a girl. She states that she had to earn everything in the gaming industry over 10 years, despite all the people telling her that she could and should not. And every woman in gaming she has spoken to has experienced the same.
After these statements, Neonakis herself became the target of some tweets and attacks.
Neonakis then donated $500 to the organization “Girls Make Games” in the name of these attackers. Girls Make Games (here’s their website) is an organization that offers workshops for young women who want to enter the game industry.
The US site Kotaku sympathizes with Neonakis, itself regarded as a target of the “Gamergate” movement.
As reported by Kotaku, Neonakis’ donation triggered a real wave of donations joined by numerous game designers. Among them was Uncharted 4 Director Neil Druckmann, Firewatch Director Jake Radkin, employees of Disney, High Moon, and other studios. Neonakis added another $500 to her initial $500.
Thus, ultimately thousands of US dollars have been donated to Girls Make Games in the name of misogyny.
We shed light on the background of the allegations against Leost in this article:
The new skins for artifact weapons in Patch 7.2 of WoW are not for everyone – hard work lies ahead.
Already at the release of World of Warcraft: Legion, there were small, class-specific tasks to unlock the hidden appearances of artifact weapons. While some classes had really long questlines, others only had to wait for the right drop from a boss. This was not particularly fair and was received with mixed feelings by the fans.
In Patch 7.2, there is a new appearance for each weapon, but it is not as easy to obtain. As a prerequisite, the character must reach level 110 and unlock at least 35 traits of the artifact weapon.
Furthermore, the Mage Tower of the Legion judges must be unlocked. This building is constructed by all players at the same time and then lasts for 3 days before it is destroyed (and a new building can be constructed). As long as it is active, you receive a quest that initiates a particularly difficult scenario.
Depending on the specialization, either a tough enemy must be defeated (DPS), a group of NPCs must be protected (Tanks), or a group of NPCs must be kept alive (Healers).
The first time you try it, it’s free, but if you fail – and Blizzard estimates the chances of that quite high – further attempts will cost Nether Shards, which can be obtained on the Broken Shore.
Blizzard refers to “hard challenges to the skills of the players” and alludes to past questlines from Classic. Back then, Priests could get the epic switch weapon Curse/ Blessing and Hunters could earn a combo of staff and bow. Both were particularly difficult quests that often required weeks of practice and preparation.
Since not only pure skill but also gear decides victory or defeat, it may take a while before players unlock the new artifact weapon skin. However, with better gear and the opening of the raid “Tomb of Sargeras”, the task will become increasingly easier.
For more details, you can learn in the official preview of the new appearances of the artifact weapons (see sources).
