In the upcoming cooperative action RPG Dauntless, you will be able to use an in-game shop that now includes not only cosmetic items.
Dauntless will be launched with a Free2Play model, making an in-game shop necessary to finance the operation and further development of the role-playing game. The developers stated that there will definitely be no items for sale in the shop that create a Pay2Win situation. Only cosmetic items are intended to be available there.
Gathering resources is very important
But that’s not entirely true. In Dauntless, crafting is important. To craft powerful weapons and armor, you need to gather appropriate resources, which you obtain after defeating one of the Behemoths.
Behemoths, the giant opponents, revert back to the substance Aether from which they were created after their demise. This Aether must be collected to craft new gear. Additionally, it is possible to obtain trophies from the monsters that you can also use to craft weapons and armor.
The Aether brings you to the city of Ramsgate, where the blacksmith Arkan Drew crafts gear for you from it. Depending on which Behemoth you have defeated, the Aether has different properties and can be transformed into various items. Some gear also requires several different materials, meaning you will need to hunt not just one, but multiple Behemoths. It may therefore take a bit longer to gather all the necessary resources. And this is where the in-game shop comes into play.
Boosters make it easier for you to gather resources
In addition to cosmetic items that allow you to personalize your hero, you will also find boosters in the shop that enable you to gather more resources from a defeated Behemoth. You have the choice of Champion and Patron boosters. Champion boosters only affect you, while Patron boosters affect the entire adventure party. With a Patron booster, you also have the chance to obtain cosmetic items from Behemoths.
The boosters will only be active for a specific period. How long, the developers of the action RPG Dauntless will still determine, just like the price. Dauntless will start its first alpha this month. The developers will announce a specific date soon.
Cloud Imperium Games released Patch 2.6.2 for the alpha of the space online game Star Citizen and introduces the Mega Map feature.
With the latest update 2.6.2, an important step is taken towards the persistent universe of Star Citizen. The Mega Map feature introduces a new method of object streaming. Object container streaming preloads important elements or generates them through streaming.
This leads to significantly reduced loading times between the game modes – space action and shooter. Ultimately, there should actually be no loading times in Star Citizen. In the later persistent universe, there will be smooth transitions between space battles and walking on planets and stations.
New Ship, New Sale – Drake Buccaneer
Additionally, the patch brings a number of bug fixes and improves the network code. New is the heavily armed combat ship Drake Buccaneer. The ship is best suited for quick and hard attacks, but less for prolonged battles. To celebrate the introduction of the new spacecraft, there is currently a sale at the fictional manufacturer Drake Interplanetary.
Star Citizen: When is Update 3.0 coming?
The next big update 3.0 is on the horizon, but there is currently no schedule for it. Version 3.0 is expected to introduce procedurally generated planets where you can land and walk around. However, there are currently rumors that such a feature could be introduced before Update 3.0, allowing you to enter some moons.
These rumors are supported by a statement from Chris Roberts, founder of Cloud Imperium, who said that the entire team is currently reviewing and planning past and future updates.
Star Citizen is thus gradually making progress, step by step. Players are especially looking forward to version 3.0 and the single-player spin-off Squadron 42. However, when these will be released is currently still unknown.

The battle royale shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill is like “McDonald’s”: Even though it is heavily criticized, there are numerous customers.
The US site Kotaku has looked into an interesting phenomenon: The battle royale shooter H1Z1: King of the Kill is among the most played games on Steam, according to their statistics. However, it has mixed reviews.
Normally, the games that appear in the top 10 of the most played games are well-liked in the Steam reviews.
Dota 2 is rated “very positive”
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – also very positive
Grand Theft Auto V mostly positive
H1Z1: King of the Kill, on the other hand, only receives an “Mixed” rating and has many negative reviews compared to the other top games. Out of nearly 64,000 reviews, 25,000 are negative.
Fans mainly criticize that H1Z1 is unfinished and buggy. Daybreak Games is accused of focusing more on microtransactions than completing the game.
Over 100,000 people play H1Z1: King of the Kill simultaneously
However, the success story of the shooter speaks against this. H1Z1: King of the Kill originated in February 2016 as a spin-off of the zombie MMO H1Z1 and slowly but surely gained popularity on Steam.
In the first months, there were only 19,000 players online at peak. By the beginning of 2017, it had reached 40,000, and now it is often over 100,000 players.
The reason for the success is mainly the presence of H1Z1 on Twitch, where the attractive battle royale concept attracts many viewers.
H1Z1: King of the Kill – Unfortunately awesome
How does this fit together? It’s a strange phenomenon. In the negative reviews, it is repeatedly stated: Bugs! The same bugs have been in the game for 2 years. Too few updates, there is too little going on.
Even in the positive reviews, it is noted: Yes, there are bugs in the game, but the feeling when you win is just too great and compensates for a lot.
As the reviews show, even people who supposedly abhor H1Z1 continue to play it over and over again. One says, he has uninstalled H1Z1 four times. Many of the Steam critics who judge negatively have spent 50 hours or more on H1Z1.
Like McDonald’s
A similar phenomenon as with the fast-food chain McDonald’s. There, too, the reputation is controversial. However, people still flock to the fast food outlets. They supposedly do not like it, but they eat there anyway.
Apparently, the game concept of battle royale, where frustration and triumph are so close to each other, is a formula for success. It brings players to the deepest lows and highest highs. A love-hate relationship between the game and the player develops – people simply cannot stop playing H1Z1, even if they supposedly hate it.
H1Z1 vs. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
However: With PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, H1Z1 now has a battle royale competitor that follows the same concept and has achieved great success in a short time. Compared to H1Z1, which is more focused on fast action and arcade, Battlegrounds is more realistic.
But H1Z1 can hold its own against the newcomer. Apparently, there is enough room for two battle royale games on the market. There is also enough room for Burger King next to McDonald’s.
Some of the problems are being addressed by H1Z1: King of the Kill:
In The Division, loadouts are being introduced in a few months. For some players, they come far too late.
Year 2 of The Division is underway. At the end of February, the last content update for Year 1, “Last Stand”, was released, and now agents are waiting for new content.
Ubisoft and Massive announced two expansions for Year 2. The first is expected in the summer and will bring three major changes, including loadouts.
What are loadouts in The Division?
Loadouts are a feature that agents have been requesting since the early days of The Division. Those who want loadouts demand the ability to save their builds and switch between them with just one click. This way, you don’t have to painstakingly replace each gear piece and skill individually when starting a new activity. Loadouts save time and nerves.
In the live stream for the one-year anniversary of The Division, the developers gave a glimpse of this feature, which agents will not find in the game until summer:
Through your inventory, you can access the loadouts. On the left side, you will see the loadouts (there will be a total of 6 loadout slots that you can name as you wish) and on the right side, the saved settings are listed. The loadouts save the weapons, armor pieces, talents, and chosen skills. They can be adjusted and revised at any time.
Agents demand: We want loadouts now
Just a few days ago, there was again a discussion about loadouts on Reddit. They had already seen the loadouts in the stream – why is Massive still taking so long to implement this feature?
After all, loadouts have become as necessary as never before since the “Last Stand” DLC: Many agents have created their own builds for this PvP mode, which they now have to rebuild again and again when switching between PvE and PvP.
One user complains that he has to constantly rebuild his agent depending on his teammates. He barely has time to play the game because he constantly has to shuffle items back and forth.
Massive has now had over a year to implement this feature. It is now coming at a time when new content will be rare. One player writes that he has played the legendary missions over 20 times already. Just because loadouts are coming, he won’t play them 20 more times.
Loadouts still need time
In a stream a few weeks ago, Massive explained that the loadouts are not yet polished. The loadouts that were seen in the stream were faulty. It will take more time before this feature can be implemented.
In advance, the loadouts will be brought to public test servers, the PTS, so they can be fine-tuned. These PTS will also be available on consoles, by the way.
How do you feel about loadouts? Are they coming too late for you?
Soon, there could be community maps for Battlefield 1. You will then be able to take part in how a new map is built.
Designing future maps for the shooter Battlefield 1 is not solely the task of the developers. You, the community, can also have a significant influence on new maps for the multiplayer modes. The community map “Operation Daybreak” for Battlefield 4 was well received not only by players but also by developers. As a developer recently revealed, this type of map development could also be possible for BF 1 in the future.
Community projects should happen more often
In Battlefield 4, there was already a map project where the developers worked with strong community involvement. On Reddit, a user asked whether community maps can be expected in Battlefield 1 in the future.
In response, Indigowd, producer for Battlefield 1, stated that the team enjoyed collaborating with the community and the result of the Operation Daybreak map in Battlefield 4. In meetings, the team often discusses that they should start such projects more frequently. More information about testing maps will be available soon.
How does a community map work?
Those hearing about a community map for the first time might wonder how much influence a player has on the outcome of such a map. While the developers initiated such a project in Battlefield 4, players had influence over various aspects of the map.
First, players were consulted whether the setting of the map is in a city or in the countryside
Additionally, the environment was queried: Jungle? Mountains? Desert?
After the voting was evaluated, the developers implemented the desired aspects and prepared the map for testing. The map was presented and tested on the Community Test Environment (CTE). The developers wanted to know how the map feels and whether it is “alive”.
Once the map was finished and passed the player tests, it was published (after some fine-tuning) in the Community Operations expansion.
Whether the community map in Battlefield 1 will follow the same procedure is currently unknown.
In Destiny 2 hints have emerged regarding the release dates of the two expansions. When can we expect the releases?
There is a new leak about Destiny 2. This time it is a letter to GameStop that has been made public. It provides the responsible parties with an overview of what they need to know about Destiny 2:
It concerns the release date of Destiny 2 (September 8, 2017), the supported platforms (PS4, Xbox One, and PC), pre-order bonuses, and whether one needs Destiny 1 to play Destiny 2 (Answer: No). It also explains that only the appearance will be transferred. At the end, there is information about the expansion pass.
Destiny 2 – DLC Release Date – Expansion I in Winter 2017, Expansion II in Spring 2018
The expansion pass includes both expansions I and II and costs around 30 Euros.
According to the leak, DLC I is set to release in Winter 2017 and DLC II will be released in Spring 2018. However, specific dates are still missing.
The plans for Destiny 2 align with the schedule for Year 1 of Destiny 1. In 2014, Destiny was released in September, on December 9, “The Darkness Awaits” was delivered, and on May 19, “House of Wolves” was delivered.
This is unusual, as Destiny had stated in 2015 that it would move away from these plans and switch to “events.” This had led to a content drought. Apparently, there will indeed be DLCs again with Destiny 2.
What do we know about the two expansions?
These expansions will introduce new story missions, cooperative activities, a competitive multiplayer mode, and tons of new weapons, armor pieces, and other items. Additionally, a look at the graphic for the season pass suggests that the DLCs are related to Osiris and Rasputin. The two symbols indicate this.
The quest “Grave Robbery” in World of Warcraft 7.2 is causing many players headaches. We will show you where to find the treasure on the Soul Ruins.
A current quest in World of Warcraft sends players on a treasure hunt. However, it’s not that easy, as you don’t receive an exact spot on the map as guidance but are supposed to search for it. We will show you where you can find the mentioned treasure needed for the Grave Robbery quest.
Grave Robbery – Treasure Location – Broken Isles
The quest “Grave Robbery” in WoW is given to you by Excavator Karla in the area “The Broken Shore.” She assigns you the task to search for the mentioned treasure on the Soul Ruins. However, it turns out that this task is not easy. Because on the map, a large area is displayed where the treasure is located, but not the exact position.
The treasure hunt becomes significantly easier when you know you should look in a very specific spot. First, head to the marked quest area for Grave Robbery on your map. Then, you don’t have to kill any enemies to get the special loot; rather, look for a large structure/building on the Soul Ruins. If you enter there, you will briefly see a treasure master NPC standing right in front of the sought treasure.
In a recess in the wall hangs the Dusty Treasure Chest that you need to find for the quest. In the screenshot, you can see where the chest is hidden.
Source: WoWHead
To make it even easier for you to find the building, YouTuber Craft12354 has made a small guide for this quest. There you can see exactly where the entrance to the building is and at which spot the sought treasure is located. This should make the treasure hunt significantly easier for you.

Actually, the Reaper just misclicked in Overwatch . However, this turned into one of the most memorable moments for this player.
Every week, absurd, exciting, or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch, often captured in a “Play of the Game.” We searched social media and selected three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week.
Correct timing in Overwatch is quite important. But no professional play can match the sheer power of luck, as the Reaper Santy proves. He intended to use his Shadow Step to move to a higher position on Ilios but misclicks and lands significantly lower. However, it was perfectly timed because he avoids the deadly Ultimate from Tracer, which falls away from his body. Who needs a ghost form?

We have reported on the Bastion player Kolorblind many times, as he advocates for Overwatch to finally get proper colorblind options instead of the “silly” filters currently in the game. Kolorblind is also one of the best Bastion players overall, as he demonstrates once more in this Play of the Game on the Lijiang Tower. Taking out the entire enemy team with just one Ultimate.

As Pharah, Domatais7 proves that you can include more than just a cool action in a Play of the Game. An enemy Ultimate is shot down, the own healer is saved, and finally, his own Ultimate is fired, perfecting the team kill. Many players could learn a thing or two from this Pharah.

Have you also experienced a particularly cool game scene that you’ve captured on video? Then just send us a link to the video, and maybe you’ll find your clip in this post next week!
The first patch for Mass Effect: Andromeda is coming soon. More and more details about the fixed issues are becoming known.
In complex role-playing games like Mass Effect: Andromeda, there are always bugs at the time of release. Knowing this doesn’t really comfort fans, especially when bugs completely hinder progress in the game, frustration increases significantly. Consequently, the demand for a patch that fixes these issues becomes louder. On Twitter, Ian S. Frazier has answered some questions from the community and already revealed what will be addressed in the upcoming update.

The annoying SAM will be toned down a bit. He should no longer inform players every second about whether they are currently standing in the hot sun, in the shade, or in an area suitable for resource mining.
Some bugs hit story fans particularly hard. There are players who have already had the ending spoiled for them because a corresponding codex entry appears in the logbook before the last mission begins.
The ending has already been spoiled – that’s disappointing.
Other players cannot continue at certain points and make no progress in certain side missions or romances because the next step simply doesn’t trigger.
Most of these bugs are already known to BioWare, and the developers emphasize that a large part of them should already be fixed with the next patch. However, when exactly that will be is still uncertain.
Recently, errors in multiplayer mode have been increasing. There are always complete sound failures, which can only be resolved by restarting the game. On PS4 and Xbox One, entire matches crash more frequently, leading to frustration for entire groups.
What bugs have you experienced in Mass Effect: Andromeda and what bothers you the most?
A new potion in WoW fulfills the wish of many players. Thanks to the “Inky Black Potion” from the Darkmoon Faire, nights in WoW can now be almost as dark as in reality.
A popular topic in World of Warcraft is the nights. Some players find the nights in certain areas of the game too dark, others find them too bright – sometimes there is hardly any difference whether you play during the day or night.
WoW: What does the Inky Black Potion do? It makes it dark
Blizzard has often found itself in a dilemma here. Do you want “realistic nights” in the game with strong darkness? This wouldn’t have suited players who primarily play in the evenings and at night. For years there has been an eternal back and forth, leading to some zones in WoW becoming brighter and darker over the years.
Now this debate may have found a premature end, as Blizzard has given all heroes the chance to experience truly dark nights in the game. And by “dark” we mean “really dark”. In some zones, hardly anything can be seen, and only light sources like torches or fel fire illuminate the playing area, in addition to the faint glow of the stars.
Suramar in eternal night – a whole new gaming experience.
The reason for this is a new potion, the “Inky Black Potion”. The potion darkens WoW significantly for 2 hours, regardless of the actual time of day. All light sources are reduced and the skybox is replaced with a starry sky.
Especially in Duskwood or Darkmoon Island, you can hardly see your own hand in front of your eyes!
The potion is sold at the Darkmoon Faire by the undead Rona Greenleaf, who has set up her camp a bit away from the attractions. For just 3 gold pieces, it is quite cheap for heroes at maximum level.
How do you like this effect? Already scouted a few new zones with it?
Cortyn says: With this potion, there are nights like I wished for. Particularly roleplayers will probably always have 10-20 stacks of it in reserve to experience the actual beauty of a dark night. But it’s also a cool effect for exploration tours to give old zones a new look. You should definitely try it out and see for yourself!
World of Warcraft could potentially function as its own world in the political and medieval simulator Crusader Kings 2. An ambitious mod aims to make this possible.
Crusader Kings 2 is a complexity monster. Players take on the role of a character in medieval Europe. They might be the head of a noble family or a barbarian tribe. They command lands, maintain relationships with thousands of other characters, and guide their family through the centuries.
Skilled players manage to make their family more powerful through clever marriages, smart financial policies, or military prowess, until they dominate all of Europe as a dynasty. They influence history, experience gigantic adventures, and shape the world.
Less skilled players die from syphilis, and their foolish, incestuous son drives the kingdom to the brink of collapse in just a few days. Or the Mongols arrive. And the Mongols always come.
Crusader Kings 2 was released in 2012, but still receives expansions today. Just earlier in March, the 12th expansion “Monks and Mystics” was released.
Game of Thrones already has a mod, why not Azeroth?
Normally, Crusader Kings 2 is set in medieval Europe during the time of the Crusades. But a modding community has gathered around the game, having fun developing new scenarios. One of the most popular scenarios is the “Game of Thrones” mod, where players become their favorite characters from the books or the TV series.
Azeroth could soon be the next world to conquer. A mod plans to recreate the world of Warcraft in Crusader Kings 2. There are supposed to be four nations, along with gnolls, goblins, and murlocs as wild tribes.
Currently, the mod has no release date yet, but the plans are grand. The final version is expected to have guilds and orders in which classes will gather. It is planned that players can become “multi-class”.
In the PvP MMORPG Crowfall, you have what’s called an Eternal Kingdom that you can piece together like a puzzle.
The MMORPG Crowfall plays a bit differently than “traditional” online RPGs. You constantly embark on campaigns in the Dying Worlds, where you gather resources and fight for control of territories. However, these worlds will eventually be destroyed, and then you will move on to a new world. This is quite a departure from persistent online worlds, as found in other MMOs.
Without persistence, it doesn’t work
But players love persistence. A world they can identify with and where they feel at home. Therefore, there will also be something like this in the game: the Eternal Kingdoms. These will essentially be created and managed by players or guilds. You can assemble your kingdom from individual pieces that resemble puzzles. You determine where forests, mountains, and rivers are, and you can also place castles in the landscape, which you can design yourself. Furthermore, as rulers, you set the rules for your kingdom, for example regarding PvP. A new video will present the Eternal Kingdoms in more detail.
You have control
It is even possible to set up a Dedicated Server to determine who can invade your kingdom and who cannot. You will also receive admin rights and much more management options. You will also have the option to invite other players to your kingdom to forge alliances. However, it is always necessary to visit the dying worlds and participate in the campaigns, as only there will you find the resources you need to continue expanding your kingdom.
Crowfall is currently in Alpha status and receives regular updates that aim to advance the game and eventually lead to a soft launch.

In Destiny, a Guardian has managed to complete the new 390 Light level version of Crota’s End solo. You can see the complete solo run here.
Crota is the unluckiest of all raid bosses: In the past, he has been defeated solo countless times, he has even been yelled and danced to death. This raid boss has had to endure a lot. There have surely been more solo runs in this raid than in any other Destiny raid.
With the Age of Triumph, “Crota’s End” was slightly revised to prevent the masses of solo runs. Especially the bridge phase, which posed no problems with certain tricks in Year 1, underwent changes.
That the new 390 version can also be mastered completely solo is now demonstrated by the YouTuber Esoterickk in an impressive video:

00:00 – Solo 390 Abyss (Lamp Phase) 08:05 – Solo 390 Bridge 25:57 – Solo 390 Deathsinger 28:23 – Solo 390 Crota
Crota remains solo conquerable
The lamp phase is no problem for the YouTuber: With his Sunsinger Warlock (who can revive himself with his super), he quickly gets through this phase with grenades and the Zhalo Supercell.
According to his own statements, the new bridge phase was the biggest hurdle in this raid. However, he found a method with the Sunsinger Warlock and its self-revive to successfully complete it.
With the sword of the Swordbearer, he swings over the bridge, which may sound familiar to some of you, then he takes down a Gatekeeper, allows himself to die, and respawns on the other side of the bridge. He does this as often as necessary until the swords spawn and he can illuminate the remaining statues.
On his way to the Deathsinger and Crota, he grabs the chest and then defeats Ir Yut with his sword. Against Crota, he proceeds solo as one would know from Year 1: Kill Swordbearers, pick up the sword, go right onto the rock, drop the sword, deal damage to Crota, pick up the sword again and unleash full power. This time, however, you also have to take care of the Oversoul.
Sounds easier than it is. In the video, you can see how he managed this strong run. What do you think about it?
The latest patch notes for World of Warcraft were thankfully just an April Fools’ joke. They are still worth reading and amusing.
Blizzard is known for its extravagant April Fools’ jokes, which have repeatedly caused astonished faces or smiles over the last few years. The most extensive April Fools’ joke this year was probably the “fake patch notes,” in which Blizzard pokes fun at World of Warcraft and their own patch cycle. It also shows that the developers know exactly what players think. Unfortunately, the “fake patch notes” are only available in English, so we translated some passages to give you a little taste.
The Armies of the Legion Judges were successful and have defeated the Burning Legion. Azeroth is finally safe from all enemies, forever. Now it’s time to improve your skills in handling the general chat!
The damage from lava and similar effects has been adjusted so that it is exactly deadly before you can jump out of the lava.
They also poke fun at the exaggerated requirements of certain players and raid groups:
Players now need to have the achievement “Ahead of the Curve: Kil’Jaeden” to enter the Tomb of Sargeras.
Furthermore, there are new achievements for the LFR raids:
Emerald Nightmare (Il’gynoth): Defeat Il’gynoth without ever accidentally damaging the eye with an explosion of nightmare goo.
Night Hold: Stun 24 other players with a single explosion of Arcane Release.
Legendary items have always been a hot topic of discussion. Luckily, there are many changes here as well:
The base chance to obtain a legendary item has been increased by 30%, but your luck now increases 50% slower. We’re pretty sure this is better now, but honestly, we’re just guessing.
Many popular interface addons are now classified as legendary. You can only use 2 of them at a time.
In addition to the existing effects, Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus will now regularly invite you over for dinner and politely ask how you’ve been. Please, it just wants you to like it.
Last but not least, there are class changes coming:
(Death Knight) Sindragosa’s Breath now makes you suffer while your silly magic backfires.
Demon Hunters have gained new abilities that better fit the class fantasy of the Demon Hunter. These include:
Soul Drain
Chaos Bolt
Soulstone
Ritual of Summoning
Endless Breath
Worgen Balance Druids can no longer cast “Full Moon” – because of that incident that happened last time.
(Mages) Aluneth can now be added to the ignore list.
(Paladins) Luminescence has been renamed to something that is actually a word.
Shadow Priests
Hope is an illusion.
Embrace the Void.
Your heart WILL EXPLODE.
NYARL’FGWTH!
AIGN RYOGL THO’GOTHAYL U’THRGAL!
Rez pls
(Rogues) Cloaking Mist now posts a zone-wide scream when a member of your group steps outside the clearly defined boundaries, is noticed by a foe, and then claims they were “not even close.” Stop lying, Todd.
Shamans
Guardian Totem returns to the game.
Just kidding. We’re removing even more totems.
The complete “Patch Notes for Patch 7.8.0” can be found in our sources.
Rift is getting a new update called 4.1 and presents you a new raid that does not require any trash and group searching. Additionally, there are upgradable weapons like in WoW and a carnival event.
The highlight of every raid in MMORPGs like Rift are the epic boss battles where the group has to give their all to win. However, before you reach the boss, you usually have to fight through hordes of useless trash mobs that are just annoying.
But with update 4.1 and the new raid “Tartarian Depths”, the action starts right away with the boss following another boss. Moreover, the patch also offers upgradable “Eternal Weapons” and a fun carnival.
https://youtu.be/ddTS-bEWTYw
Rift: The Tartarian Depths – A Frustration-Free Raid
The Tartarian Depths are a new raid that takes you into the namesake pits and abysses of hell. All sorts of beasts have been imprisoned there. The best part: You can directly beat down the big bosses without having to fight through trash mobs for ages. Instead, the first four bosses come one after another and the main final boss Malannon is not far behind.
Access to the Tartarian Depths is only possible via the new raid finder, making it particularly easy and accessible. Simply sign up and specify your role, and with a bit of luck, you’ll have your raid assembled and can take down bosses and collect loot. The latter is particularly interesting for raid newcomers, but certain resources are also intended to attract experienced raid veterans.
Eternal Items – The Artifact Weapons of Rift
With the eternal items, Rift introduces weapons reminiscent of WoW: Items that you do not just throw away, but continuously upgrade and adapt them to your progress.
You can find eternal weapons either as rare loot or receive them through a questline from Lessa Korin at Alittu. After that, it’s all about upgrading the weapon, ideally with special items from the Tartarian Depths.
Colors and Carnival
Also new: The dye system for armors has been upgraded and expanded with 18 new colors. This allows you to dress up perfectly for the Carnival of the Chosen. This event runs until April 20, 2016, and offers new tasks where you can win a strange elephant mount and funny costumes.
If you haven’t gotten the expansion Starfall Prophecy yet, you can now also buy it in the in-game shop with credits or affinity.
New figures show which games were the most successful in terms of digital revenue in February 2017. World of Tanks has strengthened, while Hearthstone suddenly weakens. Lineage 2 Revolution is the new leader in mobile and For Honor a strong newcomer.
Every month, the analysis firm Superdata evaluates its sources to say: These are the top-grossing games. They generated the most digital revenue in February 2017.
For Honor new in the ranking
This is usually a relatively stable matter, as there is hardly any change among the top games. This time, almost all changes are only marginal. But there are a few outliers.
On the PC, World of Tanks has moved up two places, having been 6th in January, now at 4th. For Honor is a newcomer in the top 10. It doesn’t happen often that new games make such an impact here. Overwatch has fallen from 4th to 6th on PC.
On consoles, For Honor has also entered the ranking new. ARK: Survival Evolved has lost some places, having been 4th in January, now at 6th. Destiny has fallen from 8th to 9th.
Lineage 2 Revolution the new hot thing on Mobile
http://youtu.be/9-sz9pJXsVE
There is more movement in Mobile. There is a new leader with Lineage 2 Revolution that has displaced Clash Royale. The mobile MMORPG comes from nowhere and wasn’t even in the top 10 in January.
This is probably the new “hot thing” on Mobile. The game is based on the NCSoft license Lineage, but is developed by “NetMarble”. In South Korea, it allegedly generated 170 million USD in its first month, according to androidauthority. It was released in South Korea in December 2016.
A worldwide release of Lineage 2 Revolution is planned for 2017. It should also come to Europe and North America. However, we do not know yet when this will happen.
Hearthstone Mobile weaker than ever
An interesting statement from Superdata, which is not found in the top 10 but plays below it. Blizzard’s card game Hearthstone is at its “lowest point on Android and iOS smartphones since its release on those platforms.” So since December 2014/ April 2015.
Revenue has significantly decreased, both compared to January 2017 and February 2016.
According to Superdata, “unpopular gameplay decisions” are responsible for Hearthstone not being as popular as before. Revenue from Hearthstone on PC desktop has also decreased, but not as sharply.
The developers at Rare talk about sword fighting in the upcoming pirate online game Sea of Thieves, because what would a pirate be without a saber?
When thinking of pirates, one also thinks of their sabers and cutlasses that they swing onto other ships to capture them and engage in thrilling battles with other sailors. Sword fighting is simply part of the experience. The developers of the upcoming pirate online game Sea of Thieves knew this, which is why sword fighting has been a feature that has been highly valued from the very beginning.
Sword fights are important
In a new video, the developers specifically talk about this game element. Design Director Gregg Mayles mainly discusses why sword fights are so important in Sea of Thieves and the significance they hold. Senior Engineer John Watkins, on the other hand, explains how sword fights unfold in the game and also shows how they are integrated in the current version.
An immersive fight without a great HUD
There will be different types of attacks, and it will also be possible to block attacks. Everything will have an audiovisual effect that conveys the feeling of really landing blows. Even when attacked from behind, a special effect will indicate this. This should also support the immersion, as Sea of Thieves relies on a very minimal HUD, which is why you receive a lot of information through audiovisual effects and not constantly have numbers, texts, and windows on screen as in other online games.
Sea of Thieves is currently in a phase where short alpha test sessions are held periodically. A release is still planned for this year on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.

Parts of the LGBT community are concerned that there are not as many options for same-sex romances when playing as a man in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Is Mass Effect: Andromeda not gay enough?
The US site Kotaku has examined how the LGBT community is dealing with the romances in Mass Effect: Andromeda, especially gay players.
The studio BioWare, which created Mass Effect: Andromeda, is known for taking a leading role when it comes to homosexual partnerships.
In their games, there are homosexual romantic and sexual relationships – a rarity in mainstream gaming.
Fans had hoped that the latest installment of Mass Effect, Andromeda, would make further progress here. But in ME: A, they rather see a regression. While there are same-sex relationships in Mass Effect: Andromeda, they are not as pronounced as the “classic” male-female romances.
Reyes Vidal
Reyes Vidal and Gil Brodie are too little for gay fans
For gay Ryders, there are only:
Reyes Vidal – who is only present in a few quests
Gil Brodie, a technician
Since neither character is a team member and appears sparingly, there are not many opportunities to engage in a lengthy romance with them. There are only short dialogues. Romancing team members is more extensive. Romances offer more dialogue options, more developed storylines, and conversations. Fans complain about being disadvantaged when they want gay partnerships.
Additionally, the game quickly shies away from sex scenes between two men.
Compared to “Mass Effect 3” or Dragon Age: Inquisition, this is seen as a regression.

An achievement is also not possible as a gay character
Moreover, there is an achievement called “Matchmaker”. The requirement for this achievement is to engage in a romance with three partners. Heterosexual, bisexual, and lesbian players can achieve this success without forming relationships outside their preferences. Gay players cannot.
The fans cited by Kotaku find themselves in a dilemma. They do not want to appear greedy, ungrateful, or seem like they are always demanding more and claiming special treatment.
But they wish to be treated just like all other players. The article ends with a quote from a player: “We love BioWare. We just wish to know that they love us too.”
In For Honor, the player experience is set to improve: Ubisoft aims to achieve this with higher stability, balanced heroes, and revised gear stats.
Each week, a letter to the community titled “This Week at Bungie” is released for the MMO shooter Destiny. In it, the developers regularly provide insights into upcoming changes, announce events, or discuss the current state of the game. The Division does something similar with the “State of the Game”.
For Honor is also starting with such situation reports. Ubisoft calls these posts “This Week in For Honor” and intends to provide updates from the development team and discuss current topics.
There is still much work ahead for the developers
In the first “This Week in For Honor”, producer Stéphane Cardin addresses the community: After the launch of For Honor, the reactions indicated that players enjoy the core gameplay. However, there is still much work ahead for the developers to improve the overall stability of the game.
As a producer, he can assure that the team is confronting this situation with all their might. Ultimately, For Honor is intended to establish itself in the long term. Therefore, the top priority is to stabilize the player experience. Since launch, they have been working to fix connectivity and matchmaking issues.
Additionally, Ubisoft is working on balancing the heroes, making upcoming content easily accessible, and bringing back removed maps. “River Fort” and “High Fort” were once removed due to causing numerous disconnections. “River Fort” is now back.
Gear stats will be adjusted
For weeks, players have been complaining about the endgame in For Honor. The high values on the armor pieces significantly cloud the player experience, especially the revenge values. With “revenge builds”, players can trigger revenge extremely frequently, which is detrimental to the enjoyment of the game.
Ubisoft is now stating that they are aware of this issue. Some stats are indeed too powerful and disrupt the game balance, particularly those related to revenge.
In a future patch, these stats will be adjusted. This patch is also set to fix some of the matchmaking issues. More information will be available next week.
The Oviraptor is a particularly useful dino in Ark Survival Evolved. It greatly simplifies your egg production. Learn here how to tame it and how to use it for yourself.
In Ark Survival Evolved, taming dinosaurs is an important part of the game. Every dino has its favorite food. Carnivores prefer meat, herbivores like berries, and others mainly eat fish.
Oviraptor – Food
The Oviraptor is different. This small dino cannot use the “normal” food. It prefers to eat eggs and even steals them from other dinos’ nests. Unlike other intruders, it does not attract the mother’s attention.
Once tamed, the Oviraptor is too small to be ridden, and it is also not useful for fighting. Nevertheless, the egg thief is among the most useful creatures that can be tamed in Ark.
The Oviraptor and Kibbles – Produce Eggs Faster
In our Kibble Guide, we have explained the advantages and production of kibbles. Kibbles simplify the taming process and consist of the favorite food of the dinos. Each kibble recipe contains a specific dino egg as an ingredient. Almost every single dino prefers a different egg, and these are not easy to come by. Therefore, it is advisable to keep dino pairs in your base that lay eggs for you.
Here is where the Oviraptor comes into play. The Oviraptor emits a sexual pheromone that encourages dinos to “produce more eggs.” This special scent also allows the Oviraptor to steal eggs from the mother unnoticed.
You do not need to tame a high-level Oviraptor if you want to use it for egg farming. Even at level 1, it increases your creatures’ breeding willingness.
If you want a dino pair in your base to lay more eggs, the Oviraptor should be nearby them. Once a small egg symbol appears above your dino, it is in the mood to “lay more eggs”.
If the dino produces more eggs due to the Ovi, a small egg symbol appears above it
Ark Oviraptor Taming – How to Tame the Egg Thief
The Oviraptor prefers to eat eggs, and therefore you need these to tame it. Other food does not work for taming. The most effective and fastest way to tame the Ovi is with eggs from a Giganotosaurus. Eggs from the Quetzal are also recommended.
KO Strategy for the Oviraptor
Oviraptors are fast and considered small dinos. You should try to drive them into a corner. Oviraptors are very skittish and will flee quickly as soon as you get too close to them.
If you have already tamed the flying dinosaurs Argentavis or Pteranodon, you can use them to transport the Ovi. Then carry it to your base into a fence or cage. From here you can tame it without worrying that it will quickly escape.
Oviraptors are among the fragile dinos. Especially for low levels, it is better to use only a wooden club for taming. It is particularly practical to immobilize the skittish Ovi with a bola before you start shooting knockout arrows.
