What do words like “Mob”, “Inc”, “Tank” or “Pull” mean? In online games, there is a unique language code. We explain it in our Mein-MMO.de glossary.
We often die in online games. Sometimes we die because we walk down an alley with a crossbow ready and don’t see the trolls lying in ambush, ready to send us to the afterlife with a precise blowpipe shot.
Sometimes we die because elf wizards speculate that we will turn a corner, so they can turn us into a grilled chicken with a huge fireball.
And sometimes we get crushed by giant robots, blown to a thousand pieces by blaster shots, or we fall off a cliff into certain death.
But much more often we die in online games because we don’t understand the talk of others.
Pull the named around the corner, but in such a way that the boss doesn’t add, the mage mezzes the caster, the rogue keeps the focus target in stunlock and makes sure you don’t steal aggro from me, let me tank. All clear! Three, two, in – INC!
Ehm, excuse me?
Now, one might have gotten used to the vocabulary of a specific game over time, but what if we start a new online game where the language is completely different from our previous world?
Anyone who fears getting lost in the sometimes Babylonian language confusion, or who has always had a rough idea of what a “Snare” actually is but was never really sure, can look it up in our glossary. There we explain the typical jargon of MMORPG players.
Let us know if you’re missing a special term. Our experts will spare no effort or expense to find out what it’s all about. Except for what a Gnaargh actually is. Nobody knows that!
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.

Highlights of the expansion are clearly the three new classes. These are the dark Necromancer, the wicked Witch, and the brave Monk. The Necro is as usual a dark mage who raises the dead, the Witch curses enemies with debuffs, and the Monk is not a tonsured, living copy machine, but a master of martial arts.
With these new heroes, you can let loose in the new Inghar Test Arena, the Antean Wastelands, the Phoreus Test Arena, and in the new 10vs.10 PvP battles. Additionally, with the update The Risen Exiles, the Pantheon Wars will begin. This is what Skyforge calls guild battles. Alongside this content, new invasions and enemies will also be introduced. The update will be completely free and is set to release on May 16, 2016, for Playstation 4.
A few fans are calling for more options for crosshairs in Overwatch , claiming that aiming is too cumbersome.
Overwatch has now attracted quite a few players who were previously active in other shooters. Just recently, Blizzard announced that it has surpassed the milestone of 30 million registered accounts. It is only natural that some gamers switch from other games to this hero shooter. For instance, user PiyRe stated in the official forum that he previously played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).
A small but significant difference – and in his eyes a clear disadvantage – is that in Overwatch, players can make very few changes to the crosshair. He wishes for a simple crosshair like in Counter-Strike, where there are only the four bars of the crosshair and the center is free and visible. The options currently offered by Overwatch do not allow for that. The crosshair leaves too little space in the middle and the round circle with the center point does not meet the desired criteria.
Apparently, PiyRe is not alone with this problem, as many players have joined in this opinion.
Despite this very specific complaint, he promptly received a response from Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch. He stated that implementing such settings is relatively simple. They “will see if it can be incorporated”.
It is therefore to be expected that Overwatch will receive further customization options for the interface – especially the crosshair – in an upcoming patch.
Are such small details like the crosshair important to you? Or does the aim display in Overwatch not bother you at all, as it is currently?
Blizzard reveals the loot from HotS. What is the chance of drawing a special item from the loot boxes?
A Chinese law requires Blizzard – and all other game developers – to now disclose their probabilities for loot boxes in games. Since Heroes of the Storm also has loot boxes since the major “2.0” update, the probabilities had to be published here as well.
On average, each loot box contains a rare item.
On average, every 4.5 loot boxes contains an epic item – that is 22% of all cases.
On average, every 17.5 loot boxes contains a legendary item – that is 5.7% of all cases.
Furthermore, Blizzard points out that these probabilities do not apply to “rerolls”, i.e., the re-rolling of a box’s contents, special event boxes, and special boxes that one receives during the game.
Whether these figures also apply to the European and American markets is uncertain. However, there is currently no evidence that Blizzard uses different probabilities in different regions. Technically, this would certainly be possible.
Cortyn says: It is important to understand that in Heroes of the Storm, it is not guaranteed that every loot box contains a rare item. Instead, there seems to be a chance that two or more rare items are contained, which ultimately raises the chance to “on average, every box”. However, I find it a little surprising that such a statement is compliant with the law’s requirements.
Blizzard has also revealed the probabilities of its “loot boxes” in other games:
During the current Pokémon GO event, you will encounter many Grass-type Pokémon. These are not useless, but effective helpers in the arena.
The Grass-type event runs until the evening of May 8th, providing you with many Grass-type Pokémon during this time. This Pokémon type is well-suited for attacking gyms. Because against particularly popular defenders, Pokémon like Oddish have good chances in battle. Some of the frequently found Pokémon fulfill their role as prestige (explained further below) particularly well. On Reddit, user Zyxwgh recently showed why Grass-type Pokémon are not useless.
Keep in mind that some movesets that can arise from bad luck might thwart your plans. This could significantly limit effectiveness against the mentioned Pokémon.
Grass-type Pokémon as Arena Attackers
In the battle for gyms, some defenders are found more frequently than others. Popular ones include Vaporeon and Rhydon. Therefore, you will read about them often in this article. They have weaknesses against Grass-type Pokémon, which you can now often find in the wild.
Oddish: Oddish is considered one of the best attackers against Vaporeon, as the Water-type Pokémon reveals its weaknesses against the Grass type.
Bulbasaur: Bulbasaur can help you evolve into a strong Venusaur, which is strong against Vaporeon.
Tangela: As an attacker against the mentioned Vaporeon and Rhydon, Tangela is quite suitable.
Gloom: As an attacker against Vaporeon, Vileplume does okay. However, it shows its strength as a prestige.
Grass-type Pokémon as Gym Prestige
When you increase the prestige value of a gym, it levels up and opens more slots for defenders. Many of the Pokémon you can catch during the event weekend are suitable as prestige. To find the best prestige against certain defenders, Reddit user Zyxwgh has provided a tool that helps you in your search. Here is the prestige tool on pokebattler.com
Bulbasaur: Catch many Bulbasaur to evolve them into Ivysaur or Venusaur. Both are excellent as gym prestige against Vaporeon and Rhydon.
Paras: With the right attacks, a Parasect is one of the best prestige against Vaporeon. The preferred attacks are Fury Cutter and Solar Beam. It also works as prestige against Earthquake Snorlax or Earthquake Rhydon. Combined with other Pokémon, it works as prestige against Snorlax.
Tangela: With Vine Whip and Leaf Tornado, Tangela has one of the best Grass movesets available. It is excellent as prestige against Vaporeon, Rhydon, and Snorlax and is good against Snorlax. However, it requires a Revive and a Super Potion.
Hoppip: The evolution Skiploom is the best prestige against a Rhydon with Mud Shot and Earthquake because it is resistant to Ground attacks. It performs well against Vaporeon and Rhydon, but one should avoid opponents with Stone Edge.
Gloom: Vileplume is a great prestige against Vaporeon and Rhydon without Ground attacks. In the 1000 CP to 1100 CP range, Gengar is also a good prestige.
Oddish: Bellossom is, like Vileplume, a good prestige against Vaporeon and Rhydon without Ground attacks. Victreebel is a good prestige against Vaporeon and Rhydon with Ground attacks – Use Razor Leaf and Leaf Blade.
Sunkern: Sunflora with Seed Bomb and Solar Beam is a fast prestige against Vaporeon and Rhydon without Megahorn.
Chikorita: Meganium is, like Sunflora, a good prestige against Vaporeon and Rhydon without Megahorn.
World of Tanks has recently lost a few thousand players, as the developers at Wargaming have temporarily or permanently banned over 3,000 accounts. The reason was primarily cheats and prohibited mods.
World of Tanks is played by millions of players worldwide, and unfortunately, not all of them play fairly and honestly. Some use unauthorized cheat programs and mods that Wargaming has classified as unfair. Therefore, the developers have now taken a tough stance and banned many players from the game.
World of Tanks – First Offense and Repeat Offenders
A total of 2,891 players were temporarily suspended (for seven days) from the game. This is a first and only warning. If they are caught a second time, they face the fate of 898 other players who were identified as repeat offenders.
These players were permanently banned from the game and must now start over with a new account or leave WoT altogether. But what were the reasons for the bans? Which mods are still allowed in World of Tanks?
World of Tanks – Good Mods, Bad Mods
To ensure that no one is unjustly banned for accidentally using an illegal mod, Wargaming has published a clarification on the topic. Accordingly, mods are divided into three categories:
Mods that do not provide any gameplay advantage but simply adjust information for the player. These are completely allowed.
Mods that provide a gameplay advantage but are considered by Wargaming as a positive contribution to the game. Wargaming intends to adopt these for the client at some point. For example, mods that display armor strength in the game. These are (still) legal, as WG wants to implement them, but they would be banned afterwards.
Mods that provide a gameplay advantage that Wargaming considers bad for the game. This includes mods that display projectile trajectories, laser aiming aids, indicators for reload times on enemies, aimbots, scripts that automatically use consumables, wallhacks, “ghost models” of the last location of the enemy, and hacks that change parameters in the game.
Apparently, the developers of Pokémon GO have now found a final solution to keep snipers away from the game.
In recent weeks and months, we have increasingly dealt with the topic of cheating in Pokémon GO. More specifically, we focused on measures against spoofing and sniping that Niantic integrated into the game. Recent information shows that the developers have reportedly completely disabled sniping. This would greatly enhance the game quality for honest players and ensure more fun in the digital Pokémon world.
Softbans during the Plant Event
Initial hints about changes in the game appeared last night when the Plant Event started. At around 10:30 PM, the event began, which increased the spawn rate of plant Pokémon. At the same time as the increased occurrence of these creatures, Niantic changed the duration of lure modules to six hours. This seemingly created a problem, as players who activated these modules received a softban.
A softban temporarily prevents players from catching Pokémon and obtaining items from PokéStops. Only after spinning a PokéStop 40 times can one participate in the game again. Automated bots often have problems with this and are thus prevented from botting. Apparently, the system recognized lure module users as bots and accidentally banned them. The problem with the lure modules has now been resolved. It may have just been a side effect of a much larger measure that is now supposed to finally remove snipers from the game.
What is Sniping anyway?
Sniping is a form of spoofing in Pokémon GO: Until now, it was possible to click on any location on a map and start a Pokémon encounter there. Then you would quickly teleport back to your actual location and ultimately catch the Pokémon there. The game assumed, “Alright, he caught the Pokémon at his location, so he didn’t teleport.” Players could thus catch Pokémon all over the map without moving in the real world. But that is supposed to end now.
Sniping in Pokémon GO – Is it now over?
Due to the recent changes, snipers in Pokémon GO are likely to have problems with cheating, as Niantic has adjusted the system. On Reddit, user apemyteddy reports that these changes in the game were noticed in a developer Discord. It was mentioned:
Sniping has been officially banned by Niantic.
Previously, players could teleport to the GPS coordinates of Pokémon
Start the encounter there
Teleport back to their original location during the fight
And finally catch the Pokémon there.
With this trick, players bypassed softbans and speed restrictions, as the game assumed that the trainers were at home and not moving.
Today, this function has officially been blocked by Niantic. According to initial findings, the game now identifies the location where the encounter with the Pokémon starts and not just the location where the monster was caught. This means that snipers cannot cover large distances between different Pokémon without facing consequences. Snipers who continue to cheat with this method will now receive an immediate softban and their accounts will be flagged. This way, Niantic can punish bot users without targeting the live maps.
In the Pokémon GO sniper forums, users are already complaining that users of popular maps are constantly getting softbans and can no longer “play” as they are used to. The anti-cheat measure is already bearing its first fruits.
Important notice for the “fair” players among you
Due to the new function against snipers, “normal” players can also be excluded from the game. The reason for this is GPS drift. You may know it when your GPS position in Pokémon GO “acts up” and only catches after a few seconds to then display the “correct” location. Do not catch Pokémon during GPS drift and do not use PokéStops. This way, you avoid accidental softbans where the game thinks you have intentionally teleported.
Patrick says: While there is still no official statement from Niantic regarding the anti-cheat measure, we hope that this change stays permanently in the game and that snipers will be excluded. Of course, this problem has not been completely solved yet, as arenas are still full of cheaters. But it is a huge step in the right direction and hopefully leads to a cheater-free future.
A Chinese law has forced Blizzard to publish the drop rates for cards in packs of Hearthstone .
Who would have thought that a Chinese law would lead to gamers worldwide receiving a little more information from their favorite games? For Hearthstone, Blizzard is now required to publish the exact probabilities of drawing cards from a card pack.
According to Blizzard, the following chances are given for rarity:
Each pack contains at least one rare (or better) card.
On average, there is 1 in 5 packs that contains an epic card – that’s 20% of the packs.
On average, there is 1 in 20 packs that contains a legendary card – that’s 5% of the packs.
The “culprit” behind this publication is a new law from China that targets gaming methods reminiscent of gacha machines. Here, the customer puts money into the machine and receives a randomly selected ball with a game figure. There are also particularly rare and thus interesting figures for collectors. The concept is therefore comparable to the card packs.
It should be noted that the drop rates apply only to China. Hearthstone is handled separately in each region, which means it is possible that different drop rates for the card packs exist in different markets (Asia, Europe, America). However, Blizzard has neither confirmed nor denied this so far.
The most likely important YouTuber for The Elder Scrolls Online, Deltia’s Gaming,is quitting. He no longer wants to cover the game. The reasons seem to be a mix of frustration over changes to the Templar and a general weariness with the game.
It’s mainly about a specific gameplay mechanic, the buff “Major Mending,” which increases healing received by 30%. Until now, the Templar could distribute this buff. With Morrowind, they will no longer be able to do this reliably, but the Warden will become a “reliable source” of this important healing buff.
YouTuber Deltia’s Gaming – Passionate Templar Player
A passionate Templar player is Deltia’s Gaming – he is one of the most important YouTubers for The Elder Scrolls Online. In a video, he symbolically buried the Templar after the changes. He was furious about the changes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yZxFVvCiXU&t=75s
During the “burial,” Deltia’s Gaming accuses Zenimax of engaging in “Pay2Win” practices. Anyone who wants to play a role in The Elder Scrolls Online must reach for their credit card, buy Morrowind, and then play a Warden.
Nearly 30 Million Views in 3 Years with Videos about The Elder Scrolls Online
In the last 3 years, Deltia’s Gaming has focused almost exclusively on “The Elder Scrolls Online.” Informational videos about builds, beginner guides, or the complex game mechanics of The Elder Scrolls Online have reached approximately 29.5 million video views over the years. Currently, he has 119,792 subscribers.
The first video on ESO on his channel was released on April 1, 2014. The last video came on April 20, 2017 – there, Deltia’s Gaming explains his departure from The Elder Scrolls Online.
His accusation is that Zenimax is structuring the “Warden” in such a way that every group definitely wants to have one. Because the Warden can provide the entire party with 10% stamina and magic regeneration through healing. Additionally, the Warden can reliably deliver “Major Mending,” the significant healing buff.
However, the current frustration with the Templar is not the only reason why Deltia’s Gaming no longer wants to support ESO.
General Weariness with the Game
Moreover, he is bothered by the direction in which ESO is developing. He finds the “Champion Points” system unsuccessful. The hours of grinding known content to obtain certain items exhaust him.
These ceos sitting back laughing at us gamers spend $2 to develop cosmetic shit that we consume instead of deep story telling and combat.
In general, he believes that developers should focus more on storytelling and the combat system and less on developing cosmetic items.
The YouTuber knows that this is a drastic step that will cost him a lot of money and subscribers, but he no longer wants to support the game. Without ESO in his life, he simply feels better.
http://youtu.be/Nc9OhJmXi70
At Zenimax, they probably do not see the development as dramatically. In the German forum, they contradict the statement that “many well-known players have left ESO.” Only Deltia has made such a drama. Concerning the supposed Templar nerf, they point out statements from beta testers who had calmed the situation.
From Zenimax’s perspective, all classes remain relevant even after the arrival of the Warden. The Templar is still the strongest single-target healer. Additionally, the changes to the PTS are not set in stone and may still change. Anyone with concerns should try out the class themselves on the test server.
Leaks about Destiny 2 have been circulating for a long time. One of them seems more credible than the others, as much of what this insider said has turned out to be true.
With “insider information” and “leaks” about games, it’s a tricky matter. Some people claim to have heard something and publish their “leaks”: information about games that are not yet intended for the public.
They do not provide sources for this information. The reputation of the leaker is crucial in determining whether they are believed or not.
A well-known and professional “leaker” about Destiny is journalist Jason Schreier, who writes for the US site Kotaku. He has proven in the past that he can indeed tap into sources at Activision and within the Destiny community. He has published several pieces of information before they became public.
Another leaker is “Shinobi602,” who calls himself an “industry insider.” He presents his sources and information in the NeoGaf forum – also about Destiny. “Shinobi602” is not always right, but he is often accurate.
This is why these leaks about Destiny 2 are plausible
In September 2016, Jason Schreier quoted anonymous sources on Kotaku saying that Destiny 2 would come to PC and would be a completely new game. Both turned out to be true.
Shinobi602 contributed in September 2016 to Schreier’s information with some details that we now know to be true:
Destiny 2 will be released on PC
The focus will be on the Cabal
The Tower will not be in a “good condition.”
These statements date back to September 2016 – long before we all knew it would be this way.
Destiny 2: More open-world gameplay, heading to Saturn
So the question is, what else has the industry insider said?
These statements come from the same sources as the information that has already been confirmed:
There are said to be open and larger areas with villages and outposts – fewer rigid boundaries. The goal is for players to be able to do something in the open world while waiting to enter an instanced activity.
The Saturn will be added as a new game world, as well as various moons of Saturn. The Saturn area is expected to be larger than all previous game areas combined. YouTuber My Name is Byf suspects the story could take place on Saturn’s largest moon, “Titan.”
There is definitely considerably more content coming after launch than with Destiny 1, as the game, the engine, and the live team have been aligned to support the game in this way. This aligns with Activision’s statements promising a steady flow of content.
Bungie is contemplating space battles – but that is something for the future, for Destiny 3 or 4. Then the Guardians’ ship should become more significant.

For now, these statements should be taken with caution. In two weeks, on May 18, we will find out if there is any truth to them. A first gameplay stream for Destiny 2 will be released then.
A new bonus in World of Warcraft overwhelms players with Seal of the Devastated Fate. Those who want them must act quickly.
With patch 7.2 of World of Warcraft, there are various buildings under construction at the Broken Shore. Players can advance the construction of the buildings with the war supplies from the Legion judges. Once completed, a building remains for 3 days and provides certain benefits as well as a changing buff.
Last night, the Nether disruptor was completed and this time overwhelms players with the Seal of the Devastated Fate. These seals can be used in dungeons, raids, and world bosses to get a second chance at loot. If the roll fails, at least you will receive a nice amount of artifact power.
Seal of Fate – One free seal every day
To get the seals, you must first complete the construction of the Nether disruptor at the Legion judges’ base – this can be done directly at the NPC next to the table where you usually drop off your war supplies. Then ride to the Nether disruptor, which is a bit northwest. There, the undead Maggie “The Sneaky” Masterson should have a quest for you. You can turn in the quest immediately and receive a Seal of the Devastated Fate.
As long as the Nether disruptor is active, you can return every day and receive another seal for free. Keep this in mind with your alt characters, who may have neither gold nor order resources to otherwise afford the seals.
A tip for the end: Use the Nether disruptor to defeat the world boss “Brutallus”, who is wreaking havoc on the Broken Shore for a few days. He drops loot with item level 900 – so it’s the perfect opportunity to redeem the Seal of the Devastated Fate right away.

What is The Division actually?
The Division, in full, is “Tom Clancy’s The Division,” an online action RPG from Ubisoft, developed by Massive Entertainment.
It fits into the categories of “MMO shooter,” “shared-world shooter,” and “games as a service,” as it places a strong emphasis on multiplayer and online experience (note: you must always be online to play) and claims to be continuously developed. Patches, updates, and expansions are released regularly to provide players with long-term content. In other words, the developers continue to care for the game even after its release.

The Division takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York, where a virus pandemic has plunged society into chaos. You are now the last hope of humanity – namely agents of the Division, a unit of sleeper agents that has now been activated to save what remains.
However, a deadly virus is not enough: wicked factions now roam the streets of New York, taking advantage of the chaos to seize power. You must stop the factions, protect the innocent, and restore order.
“Great and good, but what does the game actually have to offer now?” We give you 5 reasons to take a look at this shared-world shooter.
A unique gameplay – The Division as a third-person shooter
The gameplay of The Division is something different. Unlike traditional shooters like CoD or Battlefield, The Division is played entirely from a third-person perspective. You always see your agent from behind and look over his shoulder when you shoot.
Additionally, The Division forces you to play tactically. If you run blindly into enemy crowds and shoot wildly around you, you will go down faster than you can blink. You must move intelligently from cover to cover (The Division is a cover shooter), seek tactical advantages, and attack at the right moments.
Overview and team play are just as important as good reflexes and aiming. In addition to weapons, you have skills like a sticky grenade or consumables like incendiary rounds available in combat.
The gunplay of The Division has been praised repeatedly – it’s fun to try out the different weapons and take aim at enemy heads. The weapons “feel” good.
A brilliant, post-apocalyptic atmosphere
The Division has faced much criticism in its one-year history, but one aspect of the game has never been affected: the atmosphere. On the contrary, it has always been praised highly.
The developers conducted extensive research to portray a New York after the apocalypse as realistically as possible. And they succeeded. Flickering neon signs, destroyed cars, missing person posters, mountains of garbage, and medical waste define the city’s appearance. The chaos and destruction stand in stark contrast to Christmas decorations – because The Division takes place in winter.
In addition to the detailed landscape, collectible items in the form of phone recordings can be found all over the city. In them, players hear short stories from people about how they experienced the downfall. Fear, sadness, and despair can be heard from many. This conveys an even more intense, oppressive atmosphere.
Extensive cooperative, PvE, and PvP content
Even the standard edition of The Division has a lot to offer and can keep you occupied for weeks. The PvE content includes story missions with various difficulty levels, high-ranking targets, incursions, open-world bosses, and daily missions.
If you want to compete against other agents, there is the optional PvP area “Dark Zone.” In this zone, you encounter PvE enemies and other agents, who may be friendly or hostile towards you. Each agent decides for himself whether he wants to open fire on other players or not. The Dark Zone is considered the most dangerous and exciting place in The Division, where no one can be trusted.
Important: You can play all this content with your friends. A maximum of four agents can fit into a strike team. The cooperative aspect is emphasized in The Division.
A plethora of loot awaits you!
In The Division, your agent becomes stronger over time. Initially, you bring him up to the maximum character level of 30, and then increase your gear score to the maximum of 256. Then you have reached the peak of the progression system.
However, getting there is a long journey. Along this path – and beyond – you will acquire a plethora of loot. All enemies can drop relevant items that you can use to enhance and specialize your agent.
These RPG elements are quite complex for a shooter. You can spend hours thinking about a good build and then gathering the necessary items. In addition to weapons and armor pieces, there are mods and blueprints for crafting. The items have different quality levels and unique “talents.”
The Division is no longer what it once was
If you only played The Division in its early days or never wanted to get it because you’ve only heard and read bad things about it, you should definitely give the game a chance now.
In the social networks surrounding The Division, you often hear how positively surprised some players are by The Division. After all the criticism of the past months, they never expected that the game would impress them this much.
The reason for this is quickly found: The Division has changed significantly since its launch. With update 1.4 in fall 2016, the entire player experience was thrown out the window. The progression system, loot, and balance were significantly revised, especially in the endgame. Also, The Division has now overcome the worst of its early issues. After its release in March 2016, it was followed by a year full of bug fixes and balance adjustments.
The game has definitely improved compared to a year ago. Therefore, we can recommend that you take a look at The Division this weekend with a clear conscience. After all, it doesn’t cost anything …
However, The Division is still not flawless today. Therefore, Massive is continuing to work on improvements in year 2. All content released in year 2 will be free of charge.
Ubisoft’s melee game For Honor has a new event command live that rewards players with prizes. Additionally, fresh outfits can be unlocked.
For Honor is currently on a season break. The Vikings won the first season of the faction war. The second season begins on May 16 and brings new heroes into the game.
But even in this transitional phase, Ubisoft is delivering new content – this week in the form of outfits and a community event.
Call to Brawl
Since last night at 8 PM, a new event command called “Call to Brawl” is live. In this, you as a community must complete as many brawl matches as possible. However, this target should not be a problem: There are still about 60 hours left to reach the specified goal, and half of it has already been achieved (on PS4).
The reward is 2000 steel.
Such “smaller” events have taken place a few times in the past. When – and whether at all – a “large” event that brings more variety to the game will start remains to be seen.
12 new Mythic Outfits are live
Additionally, you can now find new Mythic outfits in the game – one for each of the twelve heroes. You can equip these outfits by clicking on Appearance in the hero menu under “Customize,” then selecting Outfits and choosing the Mythic tab. Each new outfit costs 15,000 steel.
Ubisoft released a trailer in which you can view the outfits:

A ban wave in World of Warcraft should punish win traders, but it also caught innocents. Blizzard admits mistakes.
Since May 1st, there have been numerous account suspensions in World of Warcraft. In a major ban wave, Blizzard has taken action against cheaters who have committed some missteps, particularly in the PvP area. At its core, this concerns win trading.
Win trading refers to when agreements are made during PvP matches as to which team should win and which should lose. This allows players to achieve high ratings in PvP or claim rewards that would otherwise have to be painstakingly earned in combat against other players.
No mercy for win traders
Blizzard has banned many players who purchased win trading for real money or participated in it. These accounts have been permanently banned. Those who bought such services for gold received smaller bans lasting from a few days up to 6 months, depending on the size and extent of the offense.
Kills obtained unfairly? Blizzard shows no mercy.
In the course of this ban, however, Blizzard made some mistakes, and innocent players were excluded from the game. Blizzard has since identified the error and has apologized to the affected players. As a small compensation for the temporary exclusion from the game, Blizzard has credited the affected accounts with 30 days of game time.
Furthermore, Blizzard points out that win trading is not only about ratings for arenas and rated battlegrounds. Anyone who engages in win trading to secure honor, artifact power, or achievements will also be punished.
If your account has also been banned and you are sure you have done nothing wrong, you should write an email to Blizzard’s customer service. Most errors should have already been corrected.
The loot box facts are on the table. A law requires Blizzard to disclose the exact drop rates in Overwatch .
Fans of Overwatch have long wondered what the chances are of loot boxes yielding an item of a certain rarity. Until now, people have only speculated wildly and created tables based on player experiences to calculate the exact chances.
It is thanks to a Chinese law that Blizzard – just like all other game developers – has had to publish the exact data since May 1. Loot boxes in video games are very similar to gambling, and the new law requires that customers are informed about how high the chances are of drawing special rewards from them.
Overwatch: The exact chances of the loot box
Every loot box contains at least one item of rare quality (blue) – so in 100% of cases.
For every 5.5 loot boxes, there is an item of epic quality (purple) – so in 18.2% of all cases.
For every 13.5 loot boxes, there is an item of legendary quality (orange) – so in 7.4% of all cases.
The values roughly correspond to what players had already calculated when they evaluated the opening of thousands of loot boxes.
It is worth mentioning that these drop rates only apply to China. Although there is currently no indication that Blizzard uses different distributions in different regions, one should still keep this possibility in mind.
What do you think of this law? Would you wish for something similar in Germany? Or do you think Blizzard’s disclosures are not sufficient?
Cortyn says: Honestly, I was hoping for a bit more detailed information from the law. Are there differences between individual legendary skins? How exactly does the “Pity Timer” work, where after a certain amount of time it guarantees epic and legendary items? Maybe I just hoped too much from the law – and one should be satisfied with what has now been published.

There is news about Pokémon GO. The Plant Event started on Friday evening and lasts only a few days – Extended Lures will help you with the hunt.
Throughout Friday evening, the trainers of Pokémon GO were already waiting for the news that the Plant Event in Pokémon GO had started.
The reason for this is that Niantic did not publish an official start time for the event, but only stated Friday afternoon in PDT time as the start. This weekend, players in Pokémon GO can catch particularly many Plant Pokémon.
Pokémon GO News – Event Start Time – When does the event end?
In Germany, we could only assume that the event would start during the evening. However, the long wait was worth it, because for a few minutes now (around 10:30 PM), the event in Pokémon GO is active and rewards you with cool Pokémon and item bonuses.
Until May 8, you have the opportunity to catch many Grass-type monsters because they will occur more frequently in the wild.
The start and end times of the events were usually the same, so we currently assume that on Monday evening around 10:30 PM the event will end. The increase of Plant Pokémon will likely be deactivated at that time.
Plant Event Bonus
A few weeks ago, the Water Event gave us many Water-type Pokémon, which allowed us to expand our collections. Now it’s about the Plant Pokémon. We have summarized which Pokémon could be involved in an overview for you. These Plant Pokémon could appear more frequently this weekend.
Moreover, after the announcement of the event, the developers announced another bonus. To increase your chances of wild Pokémon, there is a bonus for the Lures in the game. You can activate these at stops to attract wild Pokémon.
Normally, these modules only last 30 minutes. But Niantic is generous and extends the duration of the modules to six hours. So you can make good use of the weekend to expand your Pokémon collection.
In South Korea, they are trying to reach young voters with what they know – Overwatch and a Play of the Game.
Reaching youth with political issues is not always easy. In South Korea, the elections for a new president are coming up soon, and the campaign department of Sim Sang-jung has come up with something special to reach young voters. And what better way to do that than with video games?
Therefore, they have given her a “Play of the Game” in unmistakable Overwatch style. But it lasts not just 10, but a full 100 seconds. Real “killstreaks” are not to be seen; instead, enemies are simply overwhelmed with arguments. It would surely be even funnier if one could understand the language, but at least for the funny idea, they deserve some recognition.

In the MMO shooter Destiny, the Trials of Osiris begin today, May 5th. On which map will the Trials take place?
If you want to fill the last page with milestones in the AoT book, you have no choice but to venture into the Trials. Even the Guardians, who are usually only seen in PvE, are considering taking on the hardest PvP challenge in these weeks. After all, you want to complete the book as much as possible.
This week’s Trials start today at 7 PM. They end next Tuesday, May 9th, at 11 AM. The game will be played on the map Dawning.
What are the Trials of Osiris?
In the Trials, you engage in PvP battles in the “Elimination” mode. You compete in three-person teams and try to fill your points card with victories. If the opposing team is completely defeated, you win a round. Fallen team members can be revived. Here, it’s not just about strong equipment, but also about communication among the Guardians. A good knowledge of the map is advantageous.
With 5 and 7 victories, there are random rewards from Osiris’ collection. Additionally, keep an eye on Brother Vance’s bounties for extra rewards. If you are in top form, you can reach Mercury with a “flawless” ticket and loot the chest with the fine loot there.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is set to introduce loot crate keys for real money like many other games in the genre. However, this feature is expected to remain out during the early access phase.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the early access battle royale game by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene, is currently free from real money microtransactions. There is a market for skins on the Steam Marketplace, but the skins sold there all came from loot boxes that you purchase with in-game currency.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Monetization yes, Gambling no
However, Greene intends to implement the feature of real money loot boxes only after the game’s release at the end of 2017/beginning of 2018. The boxes are also expected to contain valuable skins worth 20 euros. Greene believes it is great that the skins can then be resold on the Steam Marketplace, thus creating a valuable economic structure.
What Brendan Greene strictly rejects is gambling with virtual items, such as in the gambling scandals surrounding CS: GO. “I do not want to encourage gambling. I am very pleased with the new Steam guidelines that prohibit using skins for gambling.” However, he explicitly welcomes a thriving skin trade on the Marketplace.
What do you think of the announcement to introduce microtransactions for loot boxes after the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds? Do you immediately exclaim, “That’s outrageous, it will be just like in H1Z1 and CS: GO!”, or do you say, “Well, the developers need to make money somehow, and I can also unlock the boxes through gameplay”? Let us know in the comments.
