ARK: Survival Evolved is a sandbox game and therefore places the freedoms of players at its core. However, some fans believe that the new Steam achievements do not do this justice.
Achievements are a motivation for many players to master the challenges presented to them. Achievements also allow players to showcase what they have already accomplished in the game.
Now, new achievements have been introduced in the PC version of the dino online game ARK. These range from “Tame a dinosaur” to “Ride on a T-Rex” to “Defeat the Guardians of Ark”. You can view a complete list of all achievements in ARK Survival Evolved on the Steam website.
ARK’s achievements don’t quite fit the game
Many players are not thrilled with these Ark achievements. They seem somewhat uninspired and do not do the game justice. The US site Kotaku addresses these concerns in an article.
ARK is a sandbox. And in a sandbox, the things that are not scripted or obvious should be rewarded: Having defeated a dino with a rolling stone, achieving something in a particularly creative way, or using physics and the environment to do something spectacular that no one has done before.
That is precisely what makes a sandbox appealing. It’s not about doing what the developers dictate like in a theme park or a rail shooter, but about doing something of your own. Something unexpected that simply arises from a situation, the gameplay, and the game world.
“Get all artifacts” is nice, but that’s about it. It’s something that anyone can essentially do because it’s just a predefined situation. There are X artifacts that you can get all of. It may be exhausting to obtain them, but is that really a special achievement in a sandbox game?
Unusual actions should be rewarded
Achievements that reward the player in a different way, for example, if they were particularly brave or if they achieved something that is not obvious – such as surviving a week at sea without coming to land – would suit ARK Survival Evolved better and support the sandbox aspect.
For it is precisely this aspect that defines the appeal of the game. And with sandbox-specific achievements, players could be encouraged to try unusual things. That is what the game thrives on. It should promote players’ creativity.
What do you think? Do you like the new Steam achievements from Ark or did you expect more?
The Quarians could celebrate their return in a DLC for Mass Effect: Andromeda – new story details suggest.
The fans of Mass Effect: Andromeda had mostly come to terms with the single-player mode of the game. The reason is simple: the campaign is relatively complete, many questions have been answered. It also negatively affected that Mass Effect is to be “put on ice” for the time being and the relevant teams have already been divided at EA.
Now a new rumor is making the rounds, which is causing a stir among fans of BioWare’s RPG. In the regular multiplayer missions, there are always small story snippets. Usually, it is about analyzing Kett data or recovering missing members of the Initiative. However, during the event of the past weekend, there was a message that caught players’ attention. A part of the mission description reveals the following message:
ANALYZE: “… try to amplify the signal. Unknown whether … Tech seems to help, even though we do not know … back to the Keelah Si’yah. … home.”
Observant players know that the “Keelah Si’yah” is the ship of the Quarians. This ark also includes Volus, Hanar, Elcor, and Drell. During the main mission, this ark has never appeared – but now players hope that a DLC will be released soon.
All of the mentioned species were important in the previous parts of the “Mass Effect” series. Especially the Quarians played a significant role, and with Tali’zorah, they even had a potential partner by Shepard’s side.
Whether the Quarians will ever arrive in the Andromeda galaxy with the Keelah Si’yah is still unknown. It could also be that the “story snippets” for the multiplayer were created before the release of the game. If that is not the case, we should soon encounter members of the lost ark in a DLC.
What do you think about this? Are you hoping to see some members of the migrant fleet again? Or is Andromeda already “complete” for you?
Today, May 30th, the servers for For Honor are down. A serious exploit is to be fixed.
For a few days now, the “One Hit Kill” glitch has been making the rounds in For Honor. The Warden performs a guard break and then takes down the opponent with just one hit. We will refrain from providing a specific guide at this point.
Although this glitch is said by some users to have been in the game for a while, it has only recently become public. Ubisoft reacted immediately and declared it an exploit over the weekend. In other words, anyone using the glitch must expect penalties. With the first report, there will be a warning, and after three reports, one will be banned for three days. Because with this exploit, one can gain unfair advantages and significantly disrupt the gaming experience of honest players.
A fix for the “One Hit Kill” exploit is coming
Now Ubisoft has been able to create a fix for the exploit, which will be implemented today during maintenance:
On May 30th at 2 PM, the servers will be taken down. On Xbox One, the downtime is 10 minutes, while on PS4 and PC it is 45 minutes. For the latter two platforms, a routine maintenance will also take place at the same time, causing the downtime to be longer.
However, this fix has a catch. While it addresses the exploit issue, it simultaneously introduces several bugs. These affect the guard break and subsequent attacks outside of guard mode. Incorrect attack stances can occur here. For example, with the Raider: during light attacks, he assumes a stance upwards instead of to the right. Affected are the Raider, the Lawbringer, the Conqueror, the Berserker, and the Nobushi.
According to Ubisoft, it’s more important to fix the exploit quickly than to look for solutions to these smaller bugs. These will be addressed in a future update instead.
Sequels and reboots are in trend. There should be some for MMORPGs as well, we think. Where are WoW 2 or Guild Wars 3? We wish for new parts from these 5 MMORPG franchises!
In cinema, everything comes back. Every good idea from the 90s gets a reboot. Everything that once worked is being serialised.
In MMORPGs, great franchises and their games have become outdated. Graphics and technology are much further along today than they were 5 or even 10 years ago. Players’ tastes have changed. The appetite of MMORPG fans is evolving. Many no longer enjoy the old.
Time and again we read: “This old MMORPG would be so great if it just had a new engine.”
We say “Please, dear developers, give us these 5 games. Use the power of the brand. Let us experience adventures in these universes once again! And get rich while doing so – that’s fine for us, as long as we can have our fun.”
On the next pages, we will introduce you to these 5 wish games – at the end you can express your opinion in a survey about which one you wish for the most.
WoW 2 – Once more with feeling and less baggage, please
For at least 6 years, many fans have hoped for a WoW 2 with a modern engine, new mechanics and less baggage.
The story of WoW has now become so overloaded with time travel, archdemons and the ever-evil and much more powerful archvillain that many long for “to play a normal MMORPG” again, without having the entire world at stake every time.
Despite its timeless comic graphics and updates: WoW has aged. A modern engine and fresh game mechanics would do WoW good.
Furthermore, many of the iconic characters from the Warcraft series have changed or disappeared altogether.
Amazingly: Fans do not wish for a proper continuation, but rather a relaunch, a fresh start. WoW 2 should ignore everything that has happened in World of Warcraft and start again where Warcraft 3 left off, some veterans say.
Often, when players are asked what they want from an MMORPG, they say “WoW – but with modern graphics.” That should be doable!
A polished and mechanically sound game in the world of Azeroth with contemporary graphics and modern gameplay mechanics – with the MMORPG experience and top talent from Blizzard behind it? That could lead MMORPGs to a new golden age.
There are so many Competitive Points for participating in Season 4 in Overwatch. We now know the exact start date of Season 5 in Overwatch.
An exact date for the start of Season 5 in Overwatch is still not known. It is assumed that Season 5 will start sometime in June. Normally a season lasts 2-3 months and the current Season 4 started in early March.
Overwatch: When does Season 5 start in Germany exactly?
Update 30.5.: We now know the exact start date for Season 5 in Overwatch.
Season 4 ends around “end of May” – Season 5 should start around June 1.
Blizzard will reveal the exact dates by the end of the month.
Update 17.05:Season 4 officially ends on May 29, 2017!
The rewards of Season 4
In Overwatch, you earn Competitive Points based on Skill Ratings. These do not change in Season 4. It remains at:
SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 100 CP
SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 200 CP
SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 400 CP
SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 800 CP
SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 1200 CP
SR 3500-3999 (Master): 2000 CP
SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 3000 CP
With enough CP, players can unlock golden weapons for the various characters. These cost 3,000 CP each. CP is earned not only at the end of the season but also for each match won in ranked mode (10 CP per win).
Save your skill rating – stay active
All skilled players with a skill rating of 3000 or more should play at least 7 games each week. If this is not done, the skill rating will gradually drop to 3000.
A special reward awaits players who have made it into the top 500 of their respective region. They receive an animated spray logo. For the first time during Season 4, it is necessary to maintain a position in the top 500. A short “boost” for the spray logo is no longer possible.
The PS4 received a new system update today, on May 30th: The update 4.70. What’s changing?
If you want to start a cozy gaming session after work today, you will first need to download and install a system update on your PlayStation 4. Otherwise, you won’t be able to play online.
The update has the version number 4.70 and is approximately 340 MB in size.
The subsequent installation may take several minutes and requires a restart.
The patch notes are manageable: The system software update 4.70 improves the stability and quality of system performance.
However, another “innovation” has already been discovered: The symbol for the PlayStation Store has changed. Previously, the symbols X, Circle, Triangle, and Square were in the shopping bag, now the PlayStation logo is inside:
With the new patch v258, several new features are making their way into the dino online game ARK – Survival Evolved – including functioning toilets that actually serve a purpose. We will show you what’s coming in the update.
Those wondering where the heroes in ARK relieve themselves will get the answer with update v258. The ARK patch introduces functioning toilets where players can take a break.
This even has an advantage. When you go to the toilet, you receive a refreshment buff, leading to an EXP boost. This shows again that you shouldn’t “hold it in” for too long, and a trip to the toilet can indeed be refreshing and enhance the experience.
New Dinos, a Motorboat, and More
However, the update brings other new features as well. These include these 5 dinosaurs:
With this, there are now a total of 100 regular creatures in the game world. Additionally, you can now use a motorboat to navigate across water. With a new harpoon cannon, you can hunt sea monsters. You can craft the harpoon yourself.
We have already reported on the newly introduced achievements of the Steam version. Additionally, Primitive Plus received an update with many fixes, and numerous other changes made their way into the game, including adjustments to the UI, new hairstyles, more sounds, additional explorer notes, and much more. A new video will give you a closer look at the changes and new features of the ARK update v258.

How far have you progressed in your “Age of Triumph” seal? You have about three months left until Destiny 2 is released. Although it is still possible to return to Destiny 1 repeatedly after the sequel’s launch and achieve some milestones, many Guardians will want to store Destiny 1 away and embark on new adventures. By the way, when the servers for Destiny 1 will be shut down is still unknown.
For now, they will definitely run for quite a while longer. And starting today at 11 AM, there are new activities to master again. This is what the new week brings.

The Korean MMO giant NCSoft wants to gift 3000 employees a Nintendo Switch and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. NCSoft seems to be entering the console market.
As reported by 2p, the CEO of NCSoft, Kim Taek-Jin, announced that he will gift all over 3000 employees of the company a Nintendo Switch and a copy of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” The CEO of the PC giant (Lineage, Blade and Soul, Guild Wars 2) says that he had so much fun with Breath of the Wild that he wants to share this experience with every employee of his company.
Problems in Practice
However, there are some issues. The decision to buy a console for every employee came so suddenly and unexpectedly that there are difficulties in implementation. NCSoft cannot purchase 3000 Switch consoles in such a short time – and the Switch has not even been released in South Korea yet.
Therefore, it will probably take a while before every NCSoft employee can become Link.
NCSoft seems to enter the console market – Guild Wars 2 or Blade&Soul likely candidates for PS4/Xbox One port?
It is suspected that this decision could also be understood symbolically. Kim Taek-Jin likely has ambitions to lead NCSoft into the growing console market. A few years ago, there were plans to bring Blade and Soul to PS3 and Xbox 360. Obviously, the CEO of NCSoft has not yet buried the dreams of conquering the console market.
In Asia, consoles play only a minor role – PC and mobile games are dominant there. However, NCSoft is considered among Asian publishers to be the most western-oriented. With Guild Wars 2, NCSoft distributes a classic western MMO game.
Also, Korean competitors have recently started to explore the console market. So TERA and Black Desert are planning a port to consoles in the near future.
Maybe fans of Guild Wars 2 or Blade & Soul can still hope for a version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One or actually for the Nintendo Switch?
We are dealing with the wishes for ports of existing MMORPGs to consoles here:
Surprisingly, Blizzard today gave hope for possible new content for Overwatch. It could be a new hero or a new map.
On the official Overwatch website, you can now see a post about “New Details about the Events on the Horizon Lunar Colony”. There, the developers apparently announce new content hidden behind recordings of personal messages (including from Winston).
Players suspect this to be the announcement of a new map or a new gorilla hero named Hammond.
Horizon Lunar Colony as a Map?
New content is hinted at on the Overwatch website. There, one reads about a fictional press conference where Lucheng Interstellar announced that they were able to recover old recordings that are almost ten years old. They also confirmed during the press conference that they have access to the colony’s surveillance system. It turns out that many of the colony systems are apparently still intact.
Is Blizzard hinting at a new map with this message? The following image shows an overview of the Horizon Lunar Colony, which was added to the post with the press conference.
Has anyone seen Hammond?
From the personal recordings found by Lucheng Interstellar, new clues emerge. The story of the recordings begins with the gorillas being put under house arrest.
It continues with “strange noises from the vents”.
In response to the house arrest proposal, Winston suggests restricting all ongoing treatments.
A message from “Zhang” stands out in particular. In his message, he asks the others where Hammond is, as there has been no trace of him for a week. His cage has also been empty for a week. “Maybe you don’t see a problem with that, but I think we should be informed about the whereabouts of each of our test subjects.”
Finally, there is a high-priority message: A station emergency – Winston requests immediate assistance at the airlock!
Does the emergency have to do with Hammond? Could Blizzard be preparing us for a new map and/or a new hero here? What do you think?
Blizzard has revealed the end of the current WoW PvP season. This likely also marks the start of Patch 7.2.5!
For a while now, the heroes of World of Warcraft have been fighting the demons of Patch 7.2 on the Broken Shore. However, the actual raid of the area, the Tomb of Sargeras, is still not accessible. That might change in a few weeks, as it seems that Patch 7.2.5 is just around the corner.
The reason for this assumption is the fact that Blizzard has announced the end of the current PvP Season 3. Legion Season 3 ends on June 13, 2017. It will take a few weeks before the rewards for Arena fighters (such as titles and mounts) are distributed to the respective players. Those playing in the top percentages of professional PvP should refrain from character transfers or faction changes in the next 2-3 weeks.
Win-trading is always forbidden.
Another hint is the fact that the “Campaign of the Legion Judges” only has 2 quest steps remaining before players can complete it and unlock their special class mounts. Since a quest becomes available every week, this would also conclude in 2 weeks – perfectly in line with June 13.
With Patch 7.2.5, the Tomb of Sargeras will likely be opened soon, giving players new challenges. At the same time, the achievement “Ahead of the Curve: Gul’dan” will no longer be obtainable – once the Tomb opens, this opportunity will disappear. So, it is the last chance to complete the Nighthold on Heroic or Mythic to secure the achievements.
Ultimately, PvP seasons are not necessarily tied to a new patch. However, all signs point to it occurring simultaneously this time as well.
Hanzo and Genji once again show how to save a teammate in Overwatch with a lot of skill and achieve a triple kill completely without skill.
Every week, absurd, exciting, or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch that are often captured in a “Play of the Game”. We have searched social media and picked out three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week in Overwatch!
Okay, we all know the stereotypes about so-called “Hanzo mains”. They rarely get a shot off, and if they do, a hit is either a stroke of luck or solely due to the (of course) way too large hitboxes of the players and their projectiles. But the player with the telling name JustYoloIt shows that it can also be done completely without skill. He draws his bow and fires. Again and again. Without aiming. And yet he takes down three enemy players. “That’s staged!” you think? See for yourself …
The second Shimada brother, Genji, consistently showcases what a real cyber ninja can do through impressive stunts with his Dragonblade. The player Mombus demonstrates this on the map Nepal. Although he is charged at by Reinhardt during the activation of the Dragonblade, he survives the action as Ana puts Reinhardt to sleep at the last moment. Genji still manages to turn it into a massacre:

Our last clip is once again not a real “Play of the Game”, but a particularly cool move by ND1Razor, who impressively shows how to protect the healer with full dedication. The enemy Mei uses her ultimate and freezes the friendly Zenyatta. Genji times the exact right moment to dive into Mei’s ultimate and throws himself between Mei and Zenyatta at the last moment. Such dedication is accordingly rewarded!

Have you also experienced a particularly cool gameplay scene that you captured on video? Then simply send us a link to the video, and maybe you will find your clip in this post next week!
Today, on May 30th, the servers for The Division are down. Massive is restarting the servers and deploying a fix for the DELTA errors.
With update 1.6.1, connection issues and DELTA error codes have become more frequent. Agents have encountered DELTA errors several times in the history of The Division – usually right after the release of updates. These prevent players from logging in or lead to kicks.
To address the current issue, there will be a brief downtime today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC:
At 9:30 AM, a server restart will be carried out. This will last about 15 minutes, so you can get back to playing around 9:45 AM.
During the restart, a fix for the connection issues will be deployed. This should bring an end to the DELTA errors that came with 1.6.1.
Using third-party software violates the rules of Pokémon GO. Users of certain IV calculators can be banned for this.
Are you using an IV calculator to calculate your Pokémon’s values? If you use the wrong software, you could be penalized for it. That’s what happened to a Trainer who reported his shadowban on Reddit. He didn’t use any bots or spoofing software, just an IV calculator that became his downfall.
IV Calculator Led to Ban
On Reddit, user littlehawn1 writes that his shadowban has since been lifted. The ban lasted for “seven or eight days” according to his own statement and was issued for using the IV calculator IVFly. He claims he used neither bots nor spoofing. So only IVFly is a possible reason for the ban.
He noticed his account had received a shadow ban when he was out hunting monsters with a friend. A Larvitar appeared on his friend’s phone, but it did not show up on littlehawn1’s phone and was not indicated on the radar. However, he was still able to purchase items in the shop, which suggests different ban variations in Pokémon GO.
Another user on Reddit confirmed that he also used IVFly and is currently under a shadowban. You should refrain from using this software.
In the community, trainers are unsure which software leads to bans and which tools are allowed. It has been unclear whether IV calculators can also lead to a ban. However, these reports now seem to confirm that.
In general, you should avoid third-party software where you need to enter your “Pokémon GO” account information (name and password). This applies not only to IV calculators but to all types of software. The example of IVFly clearly shows that programs that use the Google Authenticator code can also lead to a ban.
Players assume that software which works offline and does not interact with the Pokémon GO servers is not affected by bans. In this context, GoIV (not to be confused with IVGo!) and CalcyIV are mentioned, which are considered “safe” among trainers.
We refrain from recommending any IV calculators at this point.
In Destiny , we take a look at this week’s videos. This time, there is a “professional” video.
Last week, the videos of the week, the “Movies of the Week” (MOTW), were canceled. The reason for this was the gameplay premiere of Destiny 2. This week, they are back – and really good!
A video was able to carry the title MOTW, behind which lies an interesting and curious story: Over a month ago, the user iamnotmybuddypaul reached out to the Reddit community for help regarding a potential job.
He is a freelance editor who wants to apply at a larger gaming company. For this, he has to create a trailer and since he is a huge Destiny fan, he chose this game. Now he needs impressive gameplay footage from the Guardian community that he can use for the trailer. He wants to combine this with scenes from the Bungie trailers.
A few days ago, the user came back to speak. He received tremendous help and finished the trailer. Unfortunately, he did not get the job. In order not to be stuck with the trailer, he now wants to show it to the community. Many Guardians are now impressed by his work. The trailer also made it to Bungie, who chose it as the video of the week:

The video is called “The Chain.” On one hand, it is the name of the song “The Chain,” and on the other, it symbolizes the relationship between Guardians and Ghosts, according to the user.
Continuing with the videos of the week: This music video received an honorable mention. In it, you can hear music from PSY and see dance performances from Guardians. Well done:

For the colorful martial arts MMO Blade & Soul, a new class was announced some time ago. The new hero wields cannons and now also has a name and a release date.
In the meantime, there is new information about the hero, including a name, a date, and a stylish teaser video.
Blade and Soul – Maestro release only in Korea
The previously unnamed hero has been referred to in the media and forums as “Gunner,” “Gunslinger,” or even by our chief Schuhmann as “Ballerina“. However, this was not NCSoft’s plan, as the new class is officially called “Maestro.” But don’t worry, the new hero is still a cool gunslinger and cannoner, not a spiritual musician with a fiddle or piano.

The new class already has a release date, which currently only applies to its country of origin, Korea. There, the Maestro will go online on June 14th. When a West release is planned has not yet been revealed. However, since the West version is still successful, the new hero shouldn’t keep us waiting too long. To increase anticipation, we’ve embedded two teaser trailers for you here.

For Honor has been in Season 2 for two weeks now. However, many former players remain indifferent.
Two new heroes, two new maps, plenty of new items, and a revamp of the gear stats – Season 2 of For Honor had a lot to offer. Especially the overhaul of the gear stats has been eagerly awaited since the launch, as some values caused significant balance issues in the endgame.
Now all these innovations are in the game – but somehow it seems no one is interested.
Season 2 does a lot right, but players aren’t coming back
Normally, a game develops like this after release:
At launch, the hype around the game is at its peak. This was also the case with For Honor. Everyone wanted to know what For Honor actually is, how it performs in tests, whether there are any tips and tricks, and which class is actually the best.
Then the hype dies down in the coming weeks. And when new DLCs and content are released, the interest in the game rises again and players return in droves. After all, you want to know what’s new.
But that is not the case with For Honor. The initial interest did not return with the first major content drop. A glance at the Steam charts already shows this: In the days and weeks leading up to the release of Season 2, the player base was at 3,000 players, then it spiked for just one day to 7,500, only to drop off again immediately. Now the numbers are back to what they were before the release of Season 2.
Google Trends also paints a clear picture: Interest in For Honor did not increase over time with Season 2:
On May 16, when Season 2 started, there was a small, barely noticeable spike, which immediately flattened out again. This means that hardly anyone was searching for For Honor – that hardly anyone was interested, even though many new contents were released. And all for free.
Actually, the curve should have risen significantly before May 16. But former players apparently don’t even care what free content they receive.
Is the time for For Honor over?
After the hype came the crash
For Honor launched with a bang in February 2017. Millions of interested players participated in the beta, and the launch was successful. However, the problems with Ubisoft’s melee game quickly became apparent.
The matchmaking and server infrastructure caused frustration, the gear stats – especially revenge – were unbalanced, and long-term motivation was also lacking. Players came and went as quickly.
By now, the player base has shrunk to a minimum, and even Season 2 couldn’t sustain a long-term increase.
In the comments under our articles, it has frequently been stated in recent weeks that For Honor is “dead”. While thousands of players still play the game daily, the general interest in For Honor is hardly existent, as Google Trends clearly shows.
Possible tournaments and ranked matches that Ubisoft teased might bring more players back. However, until then, the outlook for For Honor looks bleak.
The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is making a skill diet. With the Stormblood expansion, some game mechanics are being removed. This is quite complicated. We will show you what is happening.
The live letter on the job changes coming to Final Fantasy XIV is worth a second visit.
One of the goals of Stormblood will be to streamline the game significantly. Values are changing, skills are being merged or disappearing altogether.

Some values like piety or intelligence are changing
This is what happens with healers – the Cleric Stance question is clarified
For simplification, these changes for healers are crucial:
The “Cleric Stance” (Penitent) is changing. Until now, druids, white mages, and scholars could decide whether they preferred to deal “damage” or “heal.” The problem arose that healers wiped their group because they were in damage stance and this limited healing performance. Others were so nervous that a wipe could happen that they never dealt damage and never switched to this stance.
This will no longer happen – the idea is that healers can safely deal damage without having to sacrifice healing performance. The Cleric Stance is now a kind of “Damage Boost” with Stormblood; it no longer reduces healing performance.
Further changes:
Piety will no longer be a primary attribute but will become a secondary attribute – that is for healers
The value “Int” will no longer matter for healers – with Stormblood, healing value and spell damage depend on the willpower value.
Meta values are changing for tanks and DPS
Some more complex meta values will disappear or change significantly:
Parry is being removed; instead, there will be the value “Tenacity,” which is only for tanks and reduces damage
Accuracy is being removed – but you will still be able to miss when you get debuffs – instead, there is the value “Direct Hit” on equipment for DPS. Direct Hits deal bonus damage.
Cross-class actions
What is disappearing are the Cross-job Actions, which will be replaced by “Role Actions.” Until now, you could use skills from other jobs. This will no longer work that way, but the different classes within a role will receive a shared pool of such abilities. This shared skills pool will no longer depend on the job but on the role that a class plays.
The roles include: tank, healer, ranged DPS, melee DPS, and sorcerer.

Secret World Legends, the remake of The Secret World, will be a free-to-play game. How exactly the free gaming experience will unfold has not been clear until now. However, information about the business model has since surfaced.
Secret World Legends will be a free-to-play game, unlike The Secret World. Unlike the original, you no longer have to purchase the horror MMO; you can simply download it and start playing.
But how does it look with real-money spending and microtransactions?
Secret World Legends – Is everything free?
There is now new information about the business model of Secret World Legends. The game uses two currencies – Marks of Favour and Aurum.
Marks of Favour refers to a flexible in-game currency that you acquire regularly in the game. With it, you can buy items from other players in the auction house, additional usable weapon types, potion refills, dungeon keys, social items, and more.
Aurum is the premium currency of Secret World Legends. You purchase it using real money and can acquire new character slots, cosmetic items, and boosters, among other things.
However, it is also possible to buy Aurum directly with Marks of Favour. A player just needs to offer enough Aurum. The price is automatically regulated by supply and demand. The whole system works the other way around as well. You can buy Aurum with real money and exchange it for Marks of Favour. Essentially, this is legal gold selling. A similar real-money exchange system is used by WildStar and Eve Online.

Which event can we expect? Players hope for Lúcioball
In the comments of the Reddit thread, there are many attempts to explain the Golden Loot Box and the sounds. In line with summer, we might soon see the Summer Games return to Overwatch and bring back the game mode “Lúcioball”. The golden box could serve as a reward for players during the Summer Games, replacing the gold medal.
Other users speculate that Overwatch may soon implement a similar loot system as in Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm. In this case, a golden box would symbolize that the chance of rare items inside is higher than in standard boxes.
What do you think, which event can we expect next in Overwatch and what significance do the golden boxes have?
