Blizzard has revealed the end of the current WoW PvP season. This likely also marks the start of Patch 7.2.5!
For a while now, the heroes of World of Warcraft have been fighting the demons of Patch 7.2 on the Broken Shore. However, the actual raid of the area, the Tomb of Sargeras, is still not accessible. That might change in a few weeks, as it seems that Patch 7.2.5 is just around the corner.
The reason for this assumption is the fact that Blizzard has announced the end of the current PvP Season 3. Legion Season 3 ends on June 13, 2017. It will take a few weeks before the rewards for Arena fighters (such as titles and mounts) are distributed to the respective players. Those playing in the top percentages of professional PvP should refrain from character transfers or faction changes in the next 2-3 weeks.
Win-trading is always forbidden.
Another hint is the fact that the “Campaign of the Legion Judges” only has 2 quest steps remaining before players can complete it and unlock their special class mounts. Since a quest becomes available every week, this would also conclude in 2 weeks – perfectly in line with June 13.
With Patch 7.2.5, the Tomb of Sargeras will likely be opened soon, giving players new challenges. At the same time, the achievement “Ahead of the Curve: Gul’dan” will no longer be obtainable – once the Tomb opens, this opportunity will disappear. So, it is the last chance to complete the Nighthold on Heroic or Mythic to secure the achievements.
Ultimately, PvP seasons are not necessarily tied to a new patch. However, all signs point to it occurring simultaneously this time as well.
Hanzo and Genji once again show how to save a teammate in Overwatch with a lot of skill and achieve a triple kill completely without skill.
Every week, absurd, exciting, or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch that are often captured in a “Play of the Game”. We have searched social media and picked out three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week in Overwatch!
Okay, we all know the stereotypes about so-called “Hanzo mains”. They rarely get a shot off, and if they do, a hit is either a stroke of luck or solely due to the (of course) way too large hitboxes of the players and their projectiles. But the player with the telling name JustYoloIt shows that it can also be done completely without skill. He draws his bow and fires. Again and again. Without aiming. And yet he takes down three enemy players. “That’s staged!” you think? See for yourself …
The second Shimada brother, Genji, consistently showcases what a real cyber ninja can do through impressive stunts with his Dragonblade. The player Mombus demonstrates this on the map Nepal. Although he is charged at by Reinhardt during the activation of the Dragonblade, he survives the action as Ana puts Reinhardt to sleep at the last moment. Genji still manages to turn it into a massacre:

Our last clip is once again not a real “Play of the Game”, but a particularly cool move by ND1Razor, who impressively shows how to protect the healer with full dedication. The enemy Mei uses her ultimate and freezes the friendly Zenyatta. Genji times the exact right moment to dive into Mei’s ultimate and throws himself between Mei and Zenyatta at the last moment. Such dedication is accordingly rewarded!

Have you also experienced a particularly cool gameplay scene that you captured on video? Then simply send us a link to the video, and maybe you will find your clip in this post next week!
Today, on May 30th, the servers for The Division are down. Massive is restarting the servers and deploying a fix for the DELTA errors.
With update 1.6.1, connection issues and DELTA error codes have become more frequent. Agents have encountered DELTA errors several times in the history of The Division – usually right after the release of updates. These prevent players from logging in or lead to kicks.
To address the current issue, there will be a brief downtime today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC:
At 9:30 AM, a server restart will be carried out. This will last about 15 minutes, so you can get back to playing around 9:45 AM.
During the restart, a fix for the connection issues will be deployed. This should bring an end to the DELTA errors that came with 1.6.1.
Using third-party software violates the rules of Pokémon GO. Users of certain IV calculators can be banned for this.
Are you using an IV calculator to calculate your Pokémon’s values? If you use the wrong software, you could be penalized for it. That’s what happened to a Trainer who reported his shadowban on Reddit. He didn’t use any bots or spoofing software, just an IV calculator that became his downfall.
IV Calculator Led to Ban
On Reddit, user littlehawn1 writes that his shadowban has since been lifted. The ban lasted for “seven or eight days” according to his own statement and was issued for using the IV calculator IVFly. He claims he used neither bots nor spoofing. So only IVFly is a possible reason for the ban.
He noticed his account had received a shadow ban when he was out hunting monsters with a friend. A Larvitar appeared on his friend’s phone, but it did not show up on littlehawn1’s phone and was not indicated on the radar. However, he was still able to purchase items in the shop, which suggests different ban variations in Pokémon GO.
Another user on Reddit confirmed that he also used IVFly and is currently under a shadowban. You should refrain from using this software.
In the community, trainers are unsure which software leads to bans and which tools are allowed. It has been unclear whether IV calculators can also lead to a ban. However, these reports now seem to confirm that.
In general, you should avoid third-party software where you need to enter your “Pokémon GO” account information (name and password). This applies not only to IV calculators but to all types of software. The example of IVFly clearly shows that programs that use the Google Authenticator code can also lead to a ban.
Players assume that software which works offline and does not interact with the Pokémon GO servers is not affected by bans. In this context, GoIV (not to be confused with IVGo!) and CalcyIV are mentioned, which are considered “safe” among trainers.
We refrain from recommending any IV calculators at this point.
In Destiny , we take a look at this week’s videos. This time, there is a “professional” video.
Last week, the videos of the week, the “Movies of the Week” (MOTW), were canceled. The reason for this was the gameplay premiere of Destiny 2. This week, they are back – and really good!
A video was able to carry the title MOTW, behind which lies an interesting and curious story: Over a month ago, the user iamnotmybuddypaul reached out to the Reddit community for help regarding a potential job.
He is a freelance editor who wants to apply at a larger gaming company. For this, he has to create a trailer and since he is a huge Destiny fan, he chose this game. Now he needs impressive gameplay footage from the Guardian community that he can use for the trailer. He wants to combine this with scenes from the Bungie trailers.
A few days ago, the user came back to speak. He received tremendous help and finished the trailer. Unfortunately, he did not get the job. In order not to be stuck with the trailer, he now wants to show it to the community. Many Guardians are now impressed by his work. The trailer also made it to Bungie, who chose it as the video of the week:

The video is called “The Chain.” On one hand, it is the name of the song “The Chain,” and on the other, it symbolizes the relationship between Guardians and Ghosts, according to the user.
Continuing with the videos of the week: This music video received an honorable mention. In it, you can hear music from PSY and see dance performances from Guardians. Well done:

That’s it for the videos from Bungie. What has our community created in the last few days?
This time, we did not receive a video but a cool image. It comes from Pascal Körtel from The Art Of Destiny. We embed it here for you:
Now it’s your turn. If you want to see your videos or artworks related to Destiny in our article, please send them to us via Facebook. You can find us there under “Mein-MMO.de”. Send us a private message with the link to the video, and you’ll have a chance to be in the next article.
For the colorful martial arts MMO Blade & Soul, a new class was announced some time ago. The new hero wields cannons and now also has a name and a release date.
In the meantime, there is new information about the hero, including a name, a date, and a stylish teaser video.
Blade and Soul – Maestro release only in Korea
The previously unnamed hero has been referred to in the media and forums as “Gunner,” “Gunslinger,” or even by our chief Schuhmann as “Ballerina“. However, this was not NCSoft’s plan, as the new class is officially called “Maestro.” But don’t worry, the new hero is still a cool gunslinger and cannoner, not a spiritual musician with a fiddle or piano.

The new class already has a release date, which currently only applies to its country of origin, Korea. There, the Maestro will go online on June 14th. When a West release is planned has not yet been revealed. However, since the West version is still successful, the new hero shouldn’t keep us waiting too long. To increase anticipation, we’ve embedded two teaser trailers for you here.

For Honor has been in Season 2 for two weeks now. However, many former players remain indifferent.
Two new heroes, two new maps, plenty of new items, and a revamp of the gear stats – Season 2 of For Honor had a lot to offer. Especially the overhaul of the gear stats has been eagerly awaited since the launch, as some values caused significant balance issues in the endgame.
Now all these innovations are in the game – but somehow it seems no one is interested.
Season 2 does a lot right, but players aren’t coming back
Normally, a game develops like this after release:
At launch, the hype around the game is at its peak. This was also the case with For Honor. Everyone wanted to know what For Honor actually is, how it performs in tests, whether there are any tips and tricks, and which class is actually the best.
Then the hype dies down in the coming weeks. And when new DLCs and content are released, the interest in the game rises again and players return in droves. After all, you want to know what’s new.
But that is not the case with For Honor. The initial interest did not return with the first major content drop. A glance at the Steam charts already shows this: In the days and weeks leading up to the release of Season 2, the player base was at 3,000 players, then it spiked for just one day to 7,500, only to drop off again immediately. Now the numbers are back to what they were before the release of Season 2.
Google Trends also paints a clear picture: Interest in For Honor did not increase over time with Season 2:
On May 16, when Season 2 started, there was a small, barely noticeable spike, which immediately flattened out again. This means that hardly anyone was searching for For Honor – that hardly anyone was interested, even though many new contents were released. And all for free.
Actually, the curve should have risen significantly before May 16. But former players apparently don’t even care what free content they receive.
Is the time for For Honor over?
After the hype came the crash
For Honor launched with a bang in February 2017. Millions of interested players participated in the beta, and the launch was successful. However, the problems with Ubisoft’s melee game quickly became apparent.
The matchmaking and server infrastructure caused frustration, the gear stats – especially revenge – were unbalanced, and long-term motivation was also lacking. Players came and went as quickly.
By now, the player base has shrunk to a minimum, and even Season 2 couldn’t sustain a long-term increase.
In the comments under our articles, it has frequently been stated in recent weeks that For Honor is “dead”. While thousands of players still play the game daily, the general interest in For Honor is hardly existent, as Google Trends clearly shows.
Possible tournaments and ranked matches that Ubisoft teased might bring more players back. However, until then, the outlook for For Honor looks bleak.
The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is making a skill diet. With the Stormblood expansion, some game mechanics are being removed. This is quite complicated. We will show you what is happening.
The live letter on the job changes coming to Final Fantasy XIV is worth a second visit.
One of the goals of Stormblood will be to streamline the game significantly. Values are changing, skills are being merged or disappearing altogether.

Some values like piety or intelligence are changing
This is what happens with healers – the Cleric Stance question is clarified
For simplification, these changes for healers are crucial:
The “Cleric Stance” (Penitent) is changing. Until now, druids, white mages, and scholars could decide whether they preferred to deal “damage” or “heal.” The problem arose that healers wiped their group because they were in damage stance and this limited healing performance. Others were so nervous that a wipe could happen that they never dealt damage and never switched to this stance.
This will no longer happen – the idea is that healers can safely deal damage without having to sacrifice healing performance. The Cleric Stance is now a kind of “Damage Boost” with Stormblood; it no longer reduces healing performance.
Further changes:
Piety will no longer be a primary attribute but will become a secondary attribute – that is for healers
The value “Int” will no longer matter for healers – with Stormblood, healing value and spell damage depend on the willpower value.
Meta values are changing for tanks and DPS
Some more complex meta values will disappear or change significantly:
Parry is being removed; instead, there will be the value “Tenacity,” which is only for tanks and reduces damage
Accuracy is being removed – but you will still be able to miss when you get debuffs – instead, there is the value “Direct Hit” on equipment for DPS. Direct Hits deal bonus damage.
Cross-class actions
What is disappearing are the Cross-job Actions, which will be replaced by “Role Actions.” Until now, you could use skills from other jobs. This will no longer work that way, but the different classes within a role will receive a shared pool of such abilities. This shared skills pool will no longer depend on the job but on the role that a class plays.
The roles include: tank, healer, ranged DPS, melee DPS, and sorcerer.

Another special feature: With Stormblood, in the future, each class will receive a customized interface to help players keep an eye on the values that are important for their class: such as the resources they are currently building.
Secret World Legends, the remake of The Secret World, will be a free-to-play game. How exactly the free gaming experience will unfold has not been clear until now. However, information about the business model has since surfaced.
Secret World Legends will be a free-to-play game, unlike The Secret World. Unlike the original, you no longer have to purchase the horror MMO; you can simply download it and start playing.
But how does it look with real-money spending and microtransactions?
Secret World Legends – Is everything free?
There is now new information about the business model of Secret World Legends. The game uses two currencies – Marks of Favour and Aurum.
Marks of Favour refers to a flexible in-game currency that you acquire regularly in the game. With it, you can buy items from other players in the auction house, additional usable weapon types, potion refills, dungeon keys, social items, and more.
Aurum is the premium currency of Secret World Legends. You purchase it using real money and can acquire new character slots, cosmetic items, and boosters, among other things.
However, it is also possible to buy Aurum directly with Marks of Favour. A player just needs to offer enough Aurum. The price is automatically regulated by supply and demand. The whole system works the other way around as well. You can buy Aurum with real money and exchange it for Marks of Favour. Essentially, this is legal gold selling. A similar real-money exchange system is used by WildStar and Eve Online.
Hints about the next event are already hidden in the code of Overwatch. Golden loot boxes and sound files are causing speculation.
The current Anniversary Event in Overwatch just started a few days ago. However, there are already hints of another event in the game’s code that we can expect soon in Overwatch.
Golden Loot Box and Sound Files
Blizzard is already preparing the next event while players can enjoy the Anniversary-skins and dances . Parts of the new event are already found in the game files of Overwatch and have now been discovered during data mining.
Initially, Reddit user 30847192 noticed a golden loot box in the Overwatch files. In the code, this box is assigned to the category “Event 7” as “Golden Loot”. Visually, it lives up to its name:
Encouraged by this find, the search in the game data continued. During this, special melodies and jingles were discovered, such as this sound:

Which event can we expect? Players hope for Lúcioball
In the comments of the Reddit thread, there are many attempts to explain the Golden Loot Box and the sounds. In line with summer, we might soon see the Summer Games return to Overwatch and bring back the game mode “Lúcioball”. The golden box could serve as a reward for players during the Summer Games, replacing the gold medal.
Other users speculate that Overwatch may soon implement a similar loot system as in Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm. In this case, a golden box would symbolize that the chance of rare items inside is higher than in standard boxes.
What do you think, which event can we expect next in Overwatch and what significance do the golden boxes have?
In Destiny, a Guardian is turning heads: She impresses the community with an incredible Aksis cosplay.
“Spartan Jenzii” is 23 years old and lives in Sydney. Her real name is Jennifer, and she plays way too many video games, as she writes about herself on Twitter. Oh, and she does cosplay.
However, Spartan Jenzii doesn’t just throw on a random, shabby cosplay outfit and a wig; she does this at an entirely different level, which astonishes the Guardians and even the developers at Bungie.
She crafted a massive, detailed Aksis cosplay – which can even glow. See and behold for yourself:

The last status update was yesterday (the top video). She writes with joy that the Aksis cosplay is now finished. Now only the weapon is missing.
She also posted the video with the complete costume yesterday on Facebook, where it has already achieved nearly 100,000 views. It has also already landed on reddit and received nearly 2000 upvotes and countless comments praising this work in the highest terms. One user jokes that he is glad to hear that this is a cosplayer. Since the video comes from Australia, it could have also been a spider-like species.
Even Bungie caught wind of this cosplay and shared the video on their Twitter channel. According to Bungie, it is an “incredible Aksis cosplay.” However, she should definitely be careful that no Guardians try to jump on her back.
Aksis is the final boss in the raid “Wrath of the Machine.” To defeat him, the Guardians must jump on his back to stun him. You can find more information about Aksis in our raid guide to Wrath of the Machine.
What do you think of this cosplay?
This is an AI-powered translation. Some inaccuracies might exist.
The Elder Scrolls Online has been enticing since release with a feature that allows you to create your own spells and skills. Until now, spell weaving had not been seen anywhere. But now, there has been a sign of life.
Morrowind, the new chapter for ESO, will be online soon and will include the long-awaited PvP battlegrounds and a new class called Warden. However, what is still missing is the spell weaving feature, which would allow you to invent your own spells. Spell weaving has been floating around in developer announcements and user forums for years, but nothing concrete has ever been said about it.
ESO – Spell Weaving – Forever in Developer Hell?
But what is spell weaving actually? According to the information available so far, you should seek out special rune stones in the world and learn basic spells from them. You should then be able to customize them as you wish using your own crafting system with additional components. For example, by evolving a single-target spell into an AoE effect.
Yet just when nobody really wanted to believe in spell weaving anymore, a sign of life came. A Zenimax employee posted a brief statement on Twitter: “It is not dead yet!” Below, he embedded the famous scene from the Monty Python film “The Holy Grail,” where a recalcitrant old man insists to the grave digger that he is not dead yet.

And even if in the film the scene ultimately ends unfavorably for the old man, the tweet still gives hope. Because according to the further text, spell weaving is still planned for the future of the game. Who knows, maybe you will get it as a new feature in the next expansion in 2018?
What do you think of the announcement about spell weaving? Just hot air about a feature that has long been dead? Or do you believe that spell weaving is indeed still coming, and if so, in what form? Let us know in the comments.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been worsened in the last update and is now struggling with some unpleasant lags and FPS crashes. While players are raging on Reddit, the team around Brendan Greene is working on a solution. However, it will take some time.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is still in Early Access and therefore far from finished or error-free. This has become painfully apparent again after the last update. Instead of running better, the battle royale shooting game suddenly ran worse, had more lags, and some players experienced FPS drops.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Solution is coming, but not immediately
This development was understandably not well received, and on Reddit many players expressed their frustration and predicted the end of the game. Masses of players could not play properly anymore and would soon leave in droves.

However, anyone who knows the previous work of Bluehole Studios knows that the developers around Brendan Greene are anything but idle. According to a Twitter message, they are already working on a partial solution that somewhat alleviates the problem. However, a complete fix of the misery is not to be expected before the next big monthly update in June. This usually should be released in the last third of the month.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Developers hope for assistance against FPS drops
To quickly resolve the FPS drop issue, the developers are asking affected players to submit their hardware specs. If enough information is gathered, a solution could likely be found quickly. Depending on how diligently you send in your data, a hotfix should be available soon.
Main characters in the latest “Far Cry” games have been predefined. In Far Cry 5, you now have the opportunity to create your own character.
Being forced to play with a predefined character limits players’ freedom. In the new Far Cry 5, you therefore have the option to customize your character in-game. How detailed the adjustments will be is still uncertain. At least you can customize the skin color and gender.
Customize Character in Far Cry 5
In Far Cry 5, you no longer have to play as a fixed protagonist but have more options for customization. As reported by Kotaku, you can choose between male and female and also select a skin color.
Whether there will be further options and how detailed they will be is still uncertain. In first-person perspective, however, you probably won’t have many opportunities to admire the character’s appearance. Unless you play in coop mode.
Far Cry 5 will be released in February 2018 and allows you to play the entire campaign together with another player in coop mode. This way, the visual details of the characters will become more noticeable.
The new slasher hit Friday the 13th: The Game has issues with the Xbox One version. It’s lagging behind. Some are excitedly shouting: Why are we still playing the beta version? 75,000 players at the same time are causing login problems on all platforms.
Xbox One still with beta client? No, but the day-one patch is missing
Excitement around the new slasher hit. In a thread on the game’s forum there are even accusations that Friday the 13th is still running on Xbox One with a “beta client” while PS4 and PC have significantly more advanced versions of the game.
This is causing excitement. Players on the Xbox One feel set back. What happened?
Well, it looks like the Xbox One is missing the “day one patch” – the team behind Friday the 13th is working with Microsoft to deliver this patch. This is expected to happen on Tuesday or mid-week. The information comes from an administrator in the excitement thread.
Most problems currently seem to be caused by the servers. The developers probably didn’t anticipate such a surge.
This doesn’t really reassure Xbox One players, who want to know: Why does our game look worse than on PS4 right now?
Matchmaking problems
In a Facebook post, the developers address the current focal point “matchmaking.” Many players seem to have trouble finding matches when they search for one.
For the Xbox One, the developers explain that they are working with Microsoft on a patch for the Xbox One. It is expected to arrive mid-week.
There are also changes to matchmaking for the PS4, with a patch expected to arrive soon.
Database error is due to player surge
Overall, the developers are still struggling with the surge. There were 75,000 players online at the same time. This hit the database hard. And this has led to login problems with Friday the 13th: The Game. There are also issues with missing XP related to the database difficulties.
More about the game that has the potential to become the summer hit of 2017:
At the end of the year, the online game Wild West Online is set to be released, which has already caused quite a stir ahead of its launch. Fans can look forward to a very large game world.
The first screenshot of the game “Wild West Online” was confused with Red Dead Redemption 2, which was already a great compliment to the developers. Subsequently, a planned Kickstarter campaign to fund additional features was canceled because the immense interest following the announcement led previous investors to provide more funding. Wild West Online excites the fans.
Clothes make the man, but they are not armor
It is not actually a real MMORPG, as the large game world is only intended to be inhabited by a maximum of 100 players per server. Now there are some new details about the title and interesting artwork showing diverse landscapes and exciting scenes.
The developers announced that
you can switch between a first-person and a third-person perspective at any time,
the weapons have usable item stats, but your clothing or cosmetic items do not,
outfits can be freely combined, and
items are categorized into Common -> Uncommon -> Rare -> Epic -> Legendary -> Mythical.
The events take place at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries. Real historical events from this time are not mentioned. Weapons and items come from this era, but there will also be experimental weapons.
Housing plays a role, as you can either acquire your own house or even a farm and decorate it according to your preferences.
You can choose whether to play on a PvP or a “Mixed” server, which also offers PvE elements. Players can also start their own roleplay servers.
The landscape is bigger than in GTA 5
The size of the map is said to initially surpass that of GTA 5 a little. The team is already planning to continuously expand the area. You can see what these landscapes look like through new artworks that have been published on the Facebook page of Wild West Online. These images show diverse areas where you can experience your adventures when the game is released at the end of the year.
In Destiny , the developers looked back at their origin story. It is full of pathos and reminiscent of a US film. Interestingly, Destiny is designed for 7-year-olds.
In Destiny, playing should become legendary. Developer Bungie also enjoys working on its own legend.
The studio is known for keeping things under wraps. But quite a lot has come to light about the origin story of Destiny from anonymous sources in recent years.
It is said that the story was discarded, personal egos played a role – numerous problems ultimately led to a rather strange release with a fragmented story – the famous “I don’t even have time to explain why I don’t have time to explain” scene is well known.
Bungie rewrites its own legend – and in a rather American way
It’s understandable that Bungie would prefer people to talk differently about the game’s creation. They are working on their own legend.
Just before the presentation of Destiny 2, an article appeared on Mashable. The author of the article had access to Bungie developers: a rarity.
The origin story of Destiny described here is thoroughly American. It’s not about conflicts, egos, or cash, but about embarking on new shores and how exciting it all is. The article tells how everyone at Bungie pulled together to achieve a common goal.
That Bungie had to give up the rights to Halo to Microsoft is described as “an expensive price for freedom”.
Presentation on a sunny July day
The transition from Halo to Destiny is portrayed as a journey. A crucial day is in July 2010, when the heads of Bungie presented Destiny to their employees with the goal of getting everyone on board. Naturally, it went fantastically.
Notably, there is a scene where Jonty Barnes goes outside after the ultra-important presentation and looks into the bright light, blinded by the beautiful day. Bungie had organized ice cream and barbecue. Then employees say how great it is to be at Bungie. They came to the studio to work on such fantastically exciting projects like Destiny.
In the staging, the only thing missing is that white doves rise in the background.
Destiny as a shooter for teenagers – That’s why there’s no sex in Destiny
You can take an interesting, new piece of information away from the article: Destiny has been designed from the beginning as a game that can be played by a 7-year-old. Destiny was aimed at an older audience, but nonetheless, this was an important design goal.
It is one of the seven core pillars behind the Destiny franchise that Destiny can be played by a 7-year-old.
This means:
that Destiny had to be super accessible – from the very beginning.
Bungie wanted a world where there is no swearing.
Destiny is meant to be a game that can be played by father and son together.
The Halo games had an “M” rating, for mature audiences. However, with the shooter Destiny, Bungie aimed for a “Teen Rating” – and actually achieved this in the US version. Destiny received a “Teen rating” from the ESRB: “12 and up”. Here in Europe, the game is rated “16 and up” by the USK and PEGI.
Europe and the USA are indeed different – not only in the way legends are told.
Heroes of the Storm is celebrating its second anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, all players will receive free loot boxes daily! What you need to do for this, you can find out here.
Heroes of the Storm was released in 2015 and has evolved well since then. Recently, there was a big step forward when loot boxes inspired by Overwatch were introduced to the game. Ideal for celebrating the game’s second anniversary with free loot boxes. However, Blizzard is not handing out the loot without some effort.
Heroes of the Storm – Quests for Extra Loot
From May 30 to June 12, you can win the following bonuses:
You will receive an additional common loot box every day if you play a match in the AI, Quick Search, Unranked, or Ranked modes. It doesn’t matter if you win. Just being there is everything.
If you play three matches in the AI, Quick Search, Unranked, or Ranked modes during the event period, you will also receive an anniversary portrait, an anniversary spray, and an anniversary banner. These items are only available this way; you cannot obtain them from chests or craft them with shards.
What do you wish for FIFA 18? Here is our wishlist for the upcoming football simulation.
In just four months, the release of FIFA 18 is expected in September 2017.
So far, there is hardly any official information about it. Only Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, provided a glimpse of FIFA 18: It is supposed to build on the foundation laid by FIFA 17, continue the story mode “The Journey” and bring innovative changes.
But what innovations can fans look forward to?
We probably won’t get an answer to that until E3 in June. Until then, we can make assumptions, speculations, and wishes for FIFA 18.
These are the things we wish for FIFA 18
The FIFA fan community has concrete and diverse ideas on how to improve FIFA 18 compared to FIFA 17. The wishes range from a complete overhaul of some game modes to visual, cosmetic adjustments. All these ideas would exceed our “Top 10” list by far.
Therefore, we will now list ten wishes that are particularly frequently mentioned in worldwide FIFA forums and that we would also like to see realized in FIFA 18.
The highest priority: Gameplay!
EA Sports can come up with the coolest modes and features, but they all fade into the background if one thing is not right: The gameplay. Because as Adi Preißler once rightly pointed out: “The decisive factor is on the field.”
Every year, EA Sports advertises that the gameplay becomes even more realistic. The players become smarter, recognize spaces better, position themselves cleverly or defend more intelligently. However, in practice, curious scenes and wild actions on the virtual pitch repeatedly cause laughter or frustration.
In recent years, there has indeed been some progress in gameplay, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. An AI (artificial intelligence) that less frequently opens up spaces at the back for the opponent or suddenly stops in a sprint so that the pass doesn’t reach its target could certainly be further refined. Because it should not be the AI, but the performance of the players that decides the outcome of a match.
Our wish: FIFA 18 should come a little closer to this goal.
Two other important aspects of gameplay:
The goalkeepers: The times of catastrophic goalkeepers (FIFA 15!) are over and hopefully will not return. However, even in FIFA 16 and FIFA 17, devastating goalkeeper errors could still be observed. In FIFA 18, goalkeeper AI should become even smarter.
The referees: Every FIFA player knows them: Games where the referee whistles everything against you. Sometimes the accusations against the referee may be unjustified, yet everyone can agree that referees often whistle very “adventurously”. If a light touch results in a yellow card and the referee lets a sliding tackle from behind, in which the player spectacularly flies across the field, go unpunished in the same game, controllers may well smash against the wall. Here, the AI could certainly be optimized.
A unique character in “The Journey”
With FIFA 17, a story mode was introduced for the first time in the FIFA series. In “The Journey“, the story of young football talent Alex Hunter is told as he rises to become a world star. The events take place not only on the pitch but also off the pitch – in the locker room, at the training ground, and in Alex’s apartment.
The community generally received “The Journey” well. However, two changes were frequently requested:
More of it! The Journey only covers one season. After that, it’s over. Many players expected a longer story.
More customization options: In The Journey, you cannot customize your character. His name is always Alex Hunter, he always looks the same, and it is always played in the Premier League. It would be a welcome change if at least a few outer characteristics of the protagonist could be adjusted freely.
It is already known that the story mode will continue in FIFA 18, with new characters and new storylines. Whether customization will also come remains to be seen.
A return of futsal – How about it?
For many fans, FIFA 98 is considered the best FIFA of all time. The reason: futsal! For years, fans have been demanding the return of this mode, which excited numerous players back in the day.
And FIFA 18 would be a good opportunity for a comeback: After all, futsal will celebrate its 20th anniversary in FIFA. EA Sports could certainly make many fans happy with this. However, so far, there are no signs that futsal will ever make a comeback.

FUT 18 – Legends for everyone in Ultimate Team
We don’t have to worry about the “Ultimate Team” mode. It will also be included in FIFA 18 – with some innovations, according to Andrew Wilson.
The “Ultimate Team” modes bring in tons of money for EA, which is why they are also to be transferred to other EA games in the medium term. To keep FUT interesting year after year, new features, new modes, and new cards are introduced in FIFA.
Last year, two significant innovations were introduced with SBCs and FUT Champions. We will likely find out which innovations are coming in FUT 18 only in the summer.
One thing we wish for FUT 18: Legends for everyone. Since FIFA 14, Legends cards have been exclusive to Xbox players due to a marketing deal between Microsoft and EA. According to a leak, there is supposed to be a similar deal between Sony and EA for FIFA 18. That one player community is completely excluded from Legends cards (these are not time-limited but exclusive) should not be repeated in FIFA 18.
A wish that is especially voiced from Germany: The Third League. However, the licenses for this league lie with the German Football Association, which EA would need to negotiate with.
Many fans would welcome the opportunity to finally (again) play with their favorite clubs that are currently in the Third League in FIFA. More than a year ago, a statement from EA producer Sebastian Enrique brought hope: “I always push our licensing team to get more. I can’t promise anything, but the Third League is on our list of things our community wants.”
Pro Clubs needs improvement
“Pro Clubs” is the most popular mode for many players. Many buy the annual FIFA edition exclusively to play this mode with their friends.
In Pro Clubs, team play is highly emphasized. Each player takes on a position on the field, allowing for 11v11 matches. In practice, however, the games usually take place in smaller groups, such as 4v4.
Many fans of the club mode have felt disadvantaged for years: This mode is overshadowed by FUT and is only treated marginally by EA Sports (since it does not generate money through microtransactions). In recent years, Pro Clubs has indeed seen few innovations. Only in FIFA 17 was the progression system revised.
However, this mode, which offers the most intense online experience in FIFA, still has great potential that the developers can tap into for FIFA 18. Emphasizing the social component, introducing a more exciting progression system, and increasing goals. In short: Don’t let this great mode wither away!
Let us play unfair
In soccer simulations of earlier days, there was the option to dive and commit “deliberate fouls” at the press of a button, where players would jump into opponents with their soles forward.
This typically resulted in a red card, but it was immensely helpful for venting frustration. Many casual gamers would like to see such unfair actions again. After all, dives and deliberate fouls are also seen in real football.
What impact this will have on game balance and how these unfair actions will ultimately be received by fans is questionable. If the opponent gets away with a dive, for example, the anger towards the referee and the opponent is boundless. This additional frustration potential is likely something developers want to avoid.
More love for the career mode
The career mode is similar to Pro Clubs: While FUT is becoming bigger and brighter, innovations are scarce here. However, the career is a traditional and still popular mode.
But criticism of the career mode grows year by year: EA Sports is neglecting the “Career Mode”. It becomes boring too quickly, and it lacks a real challenge.
Interestingly, an EA employee also sees it this way. He identifies the problem that you only compete against CPU-controlled teams in career mode, leading to a lack of variety. Because of this, he started a petition a few months ago to gauge the interest of the FIFA community in a “Connected Career” that adds an online component. This way, you could compete with your team against your friends.
This petition comes too late for FIFA 18. The earliest we can expect an implementation is in future installments. But for FIFA 18, the same applies: Don’t forget the career mode.
VR – FIFA 18 in virtual reality?
In 2016, the first mass-market VR headsets hit the market. However, one cannot yet speak of a breakthrough for virtual reality. There is a lack of top titles that attract a broad audience, prompting potential buyers to say: “I need this thing right now”.
Perhaps FIFA 18 will surprise us with VR support. It would certainly be appealing to run around the pitch from a first-person perspective and feel like a real football professional. However, it is likely to take several more years before this can be implemented in the way many players would wish.
But who knows, maybe there will already be certain modes or skill games that can be played in VR in FIFA 18.
More leagues, more women’s football, more of everything!
Our last modest wish for FIFA 18: More of everything!
The FIFA series is characterized by having tons of real teams, real leagues, and real stadiums. And there can never be enough of that. We would love to see:
more leagues (especially third league!)
more stadiums (preferably more from the Bundesliga)
more women’s national teams (or leagues)
more and more diverse commentator phrases
more celebration options
more fan chants and a better atmosphere
and more diversity and realism in the fans / the audience.
But now it’s your turn! What do you wish for FIFA 18? What innovations are necessary?
The gaming market in China has developed differently than in Europe and North America: consoles like PS4 and Xbox One play no role there. The PC is the dominant platform – mobile gaming is skyrocketing. Especially multiplayer online games with a free-to-play model are in demand in Asia. There is a lot of money to be made there.
Many games are being developed in China, one of which we want to take a closer look at today. It draws comparisons to Destiny, albeit in the “3rd-person alternative.”
To be fair, it must be said: The game has been compared to all sorts of things, including games like Firefall – which no one talks about anymore.
Rising Fire – Gameplay and Trailer
The Asia-focused gaming site 2p now reports on Rising Fire. YinPei Games is developing this SF-MMO shooter. This is the Chinese studio of Epic Games, the creators of the Unreal Engine. Consequently, Rising Fire also runs on the Unreal Engine.
Tencent serves as the publisher. Rising Fire was first presented in May 2016. It has now entered closed beta in China.

Rising Fire takes place in the future. Humanity fights against an alien invasion, the aliens are called Shaia.
Similar to Destiny, Rising Fire offers MMORPG elements such as dungeons and PvP content. Players take on the roles of five super soldiers, complete missions, gather resources, and upgrade their equipment.
So far, there have only been 4 super soldiers, with the fifth class “Succuba” being newly added.
