In The Division you can now find out if you can soon join the PTS for Update 1.7 on your PS4 or Xbox One.
It is finally here: Massive is finally sending out the invitations to the public test servers on the consoles. The developers announced this today, on July 11th, shortly after 5:30 PM.
You can therefore check your email inbox directly to see if you have already received a code. If not, there is still no reason to worry. Because Massive writes that the roll-out has only just begun. In other words, the invitations are still being sent. This will take a while. The invitations today are explicitly addressed to the European agents – that means us.
What can you expect on the PTS for PS4 and Xbox One?
Not all console agents will receive an email with the invitations. For each console, the invitations are limited to 10,000 players. To have a chance of receiving a code, you need to have been online in the last month and have as many play hours as possible. The more play hours you have, the more likely you are to be allowed to participate in the PTS.
Some content of the upcoming Update 1.7 will be tested on the PTS. This testing phase has already been running on PC for two weeks. A “better” PTS build will be coming to the consoles, in which some bugs have already been fixed. This corresponds to PTS Phase 2 on PC.
The preload is already running. On Thursday, July 13th, it is supposed to start – according to user reports.
Here are the most important new features that you can test on the PTS:
Commendations and patches: In 1.7 you will receive over 500 objectives to complete and earn rewards. Some commendations reward you with a patch that is displayed on the agent’s right arm. For the PTS, these objectives have been adjusted so they can be completed more quickly. Many objectives and patches are missing.
Classified Gear: These are new versions of already existing gear sets. If you equip five or six of them, you unlock 5-set and 6-set bonuses.
Have you already received an email?

Legendary raids in Pokémon GO are currently being tested by Niantic. These test raids are taking place in San Francisco.
Many Pokémon GO trainers around the world have been waiting for months for Niantic to explain how and when the legendary Pokémon will appear in the game. One method is the legendary raids that are currently being tested in America.
Apparently, these raids are also getting closer for regular trainers as they are already being displayed in the game.
Tier Level 5 Raids – Tests Underway
The legendary raids in Pokémon GO (Tier 5) are being tested in San Francisco. However, only Niantic employees can participate – “normal” players are excluded from these events. However, the confidentiality of these special raids is not working very well, as screenshots of the raid display have once again been circulated.
As reported by PokémonGOHub, the raid intervals are very short, making it difficult to see the events. So far, two Reddit users have managed to capture the discoveries in screenshots.
The first encounter showed Reddit user Scooby1222 about 2 weeks ago. In the screenshot, you can see two raids. The “test” raid uses a placeholder icon and is displayed with level 5 difficulty. Level 5 indicates raid battles against legendary Pokémon. So far, we have only four difficulty levels in the game, which we explain here.
The bright white head symbols are hardly visible in the original image. In the version with higher contrast values, the tier 5 raid is clearly recognizable:
Another legendary sighting was made by Reddit user flipdrago a few hours ago. This screenshot also shows a test raid. The five heads indicating the difficulty are once again visible at higher contrast:
The tests do not take place at specific times but seem randomly set. So far, these test raids have only been found in the coastal region of San Francisco, where a US branch of Niantic is also located. The reason why the raids are taking place there is therefore clear.
Why trainers can see these raids on their smartphones is unclear. Because we cannot participate yet. It is possible that Niantic is preparing us for the legendary battles through these leaks, or the team simply made a mistake while programming.
This means that Niantic is actively working on the legendary Pokémon battles and is preparing Pokémon GO for the special encounters.
From now on, your barbarians can climb along all surfaces in Conan Exiles at will. A new exploration feature has also been released, rewarding you for exploring the wasteland.
Until now, vertical surfaces were an insurmountable obstacle even for the strongest barbarian in Conan Exiles. Anyone with a refuge on a cliff was practically safe from looters. But those days are over, as climbing naked barbarians will be causing trouble in the wasteland from the next update.
Conan Exiles – Update 28 – You can climb anywhere
Update 28 brings the new climbing feature to the barbarian sandbox. You can now climb along any surface, including vertical walls and even underneath overhangs. But be careful that no one attacks you, or you will lose your grip and fall down. And be sure to increase your stamina, as it will deplete steadily while climbing.

If your stamina runs out, it’s also down you go, and if you climb too high, you might fall so deeply that you die miserably. Also useful: Wear as little and as light clothing as possible. Heavy armor will drain your stamina even faster, but a naked climber should be able to reach almost anywhere.
Conan Exiles – Exploration Mode and Bug Fixes
Because of the climbing, there should be many lightly armored or completely naked individuals roaming around in Conan Exiles, especially since it is now even more worthwhile to explore the map. Besides valuable resources and slaves, there are now landmarks that you can explore to gain even more experience points. You can also place your own landmarks, for example, to mark special locations for yourself.
In addition to these new features, Update 28 also includes an upgrade to Unreal Engine 4.15 (which could lead to issues with some mods) and some gameplay and bug fixes. For example, the possibility to build underwater, a 20 percent reduction of XP needed for leveling up, and armor no longer reduces fall damage.
Those looking for a new sandbox MMORPG with colorful graphics should take a look at Tree of Life.
The Korean MMO has been in beta since last year but will be leaving it shortly. The developers announce that the official launch will take place in early August. During the early access phase, around 34,000 copies have already been sold.
New Engine at Launch
Although there was already a graphical enhancement at the start of the beta, the developers explain that they are currently working on a new engine, which will be used for the official release of the online game. This engine will significantly improve the graphics once again. Additionally, a necessary overhaul of the UI is underway. The developers are also revisiting the PvP system that was introduced with the beta last year. You join different factions and can then fight against each other.
A Typical Sandbox
In the MMORPG Tree of Life, you team up with other players and build your own settlement, which you gradually expand. You gather resources to supply yourself and your group with everything needed to survive. Besides that, you explore a large, colorful game world, fight against the malevolent creatures that inhabit it, and also against players from opposing factions.

Tree of Life looks really good visually. I like this comic look, as it gives a game a unique and timeless style. However, what will set Tree of Life apart from other sandbox MMORPGs remains unclear. Without a strong unique selling point, Tree of Life could get lost among all the other sandbox MMOs.

The ideas for the next WoW expansion Kul Tiras are flowing. Even the Red Shirt Guy has some ideas – and they sound damn good!
Over the years, some fans of World of Warcraft in the community have gained a special reputation. One of them is the Red Shirt Guy, who appears at every BlizzCon and peppers the developers with lore questions, which have previously prompted them to resurrect a once “dead” dwarf – because they simply forgot that he was not actually dead.
If you call the Red Shirt Guy – also known as Ian Bates – a “lore freak,” he would probably take that as a compliment.
Falstad together with the “fact-checker” – a tribute to the Red Shirt Guy.
Due to the latest leaks about a possible expansion of World of Warcraft focusing on Kul Tiras, Bates could not hold back and immediately devised a complete plan for the next expansion. We will briefly present his ideas to you.
Shadows of Kul Tiras
After the victory over the Burning Legion, the Alliance and Horde return to Azeroth to deal with things at home. The Alliance and Horde are on the brink of a new war, as Sylvanas is still angry, and the Alliance continues to think about revenge. But this is interrupted when huge tidal waves arrive at the coasts of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.
But with the waves come ships. Refugees from Kul Tiras, washed ashore along with some Naga (Horde) and some Ethereals (Alliance). Both groups report the same occurrences: A massive city has been lifted from the sea – Nazjatar, the capital of the Naga. And with her came not only Queen Azshara’s servants but also agents of the Void who are founding a cult that more and more crazies are joining.
The core features of the next expansion are as follows:
New continent: Kul Tiras
New race for the Horde: Naga
New race for the Alliance: Ethereals
Be the captain of your ship and sail around the waters of Kul Tiras
In total, there will be 7 new zones and two additional starting areas for the Naga and Ethereals. Bates has put in a lot of effort to bring enough variety to the environments despite the “ocean” setting. Thus, there are many farms and green landscapes in Boralus that are being attacked by the Naga. In the Shadowgrasped Moors, there are still some remnants of the Scourge, as a single delivery of contaminated grain has also arrived here – thanks to the Void, these undead are rising again.
Elf ruins must not be missing either; Galhara is now one of the largest Naga cities and a continuing threat. Surrounding the void magic is the Void Pinnacle – priests will be pleased, as the blade Xal’atath would play a significant role here.
Bates has also roughly developed a plan for the patches. Accordingly, there will be 4 major content patches:
8.1 – The Forsaken: The war between Horde and Alliance breaks out again. There is a new battleground, a dungeon, and a small raid in Undercity.
8.2 – The Vengeance of the Void: The true plan of the Ethereals is revealed. They want to summon the Void Lord Dimensius to corrupt the World Soul of Azeroth. Players must go to the planet K’aresh (a new endgame zone) to prevent the ritual. Of course, with dungeon and raid.
8.3 – Azshara’s End: The fragile peace holds, and because the Ethereals are defeated, the Horde and Alliance now attack Naz’jatar. Naz’jatar is a new zone and simultaneously brings the final raid of the expansion.
8.4 – The Drowned God: The cult of the Drowned God is gone – so it was thought. But from the tomb of Sargeras, there are reports of secret rituals. Below the tomb, the heroes find an ancient titanic vault in a new dungeon. Here they learn the terrible truth about the Pillars of Creation and the Old God N’Zoth. This heralds the next expansion – World of Warcraft: The Black Empire.

From today, you can also access the new game mode Overtime Rumble. In this mode, you must demonstrate your skill in a very special way. In Overtime Rumble II, you need to jump with a Ruiner 2000 over a ramp and trigger a parachute with the right timing. You then float to one of five platforms, which will award your team 1 – 5 points if you are still standing on it at the end of the round.
Opposing players can push you off the platform with their vehicles, ruining your points. Therefore, timing of the jump is crucial: those who take off later have more targets on the platforms. Those who take off first have free choice of spots.

The relatively small studio Digital Extremes demonstrates with Warframe what large publishers often struggle with: the perfect presentation of news. The in-house event TennoCon does this better than E3.
Presentations by big publishers: Often bland despite millions spent
A lot of new titles were presented at E3. There were stages, and “influencers” were invited for a lot of money to showcase the games. It was about millions. However, the presentations at the press conferences rarely made a significant impact.
Too often, the trailers were clinically created at the drawing board, showing too little or lacking that certain something. Much was already known, and surprises were rare. They were well-measured snippets of information that were often forgotten once the trailer was over.
Even though Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Sony, or Microsoft are the big gaming giants, the presentations at E3 often lacked any “impact,” any effect on the fans in the audience.
Digital Extremes knows its audience
In stark contrast is a 17-minute gameplay video of Warframe presented at TennoCon. They kept all the aces hidden until presentation and are now revealing them one by one with delight.
The difference from E3: The Warframe developers know their audience very well. They understand their wishes and expectations and play to them like a piano. In a 17-minute video, they showcase the new update “Planes of Eidolon” and rely on the “Aha” effects. They aim for the excitement of the audience to spill over to the viewers.
Whenever a new feature is announced, it slowly becomes apparent until the fans realize: “Yes, this is really possible in Warframe!” Then applause erupts.

At the beginning, a bug lands, and a vast sky opens up. “Something is different here.” There is no audio commentary; the image feels like an intro trailer for itself.
Then the impressive new village Cetus is introduced: a strong backdrop. Tribal music and alien language. Children are playing, and meat is being chopped. Great science fiction visuals.
Then the commentary begins. The tension drops again. After a stroll through the marketplace, the first major innovation: Warframe gets freer crafting, allowing players to build weapons from components. The fans have been waiting for this and applaud. There will even be the ability to name the items – scene applause.
The next highlight: Quests can be accepted
Things really get going when the presenters truly leave the city and go outside. The first gate is already exciting, but nothing happens, just another corridor. The audience cheers the presenter on: “Woooh!” one calls out. Come on, hurry up. After the second gate, everything changes. The viewers finally realize, “This is an open world!”
A small thing, but brings applause: You can shoot a bird, and even fishing is possible.
Next highlight: Warframes can fly in this open world
Next comes a longer passage with action
And finally, there is a look at the Eidolon, the giant monsters. But this is not elaborated upon, and the presentation ends here on a high note.
A clear tension curve over 17 minutes, many small and large highlights. A lot of new information all packed into 17 minutes. That was a presentation that thrilled the fans.
How much weaker it would have been if the developers had shown all this with slides and bullet points or in small scene segments or with fragmented dev videos, as Bungie did with Destiny 2?
As skillfully as the presentation of Warframe is made, the 17 minutes of gameplay remind one of the legendary appearances of Steve Jobs when he presented new Apple products like the legendary first iPhone. Jobs and Digital Extremes know the expectations of their audience very well. They play with their expectations. They meet them in one moment, exceed them in the next.
The trailer gives the fans what they hope for and then even one more, and another, and another.
This is how presentations should be done, dear AAA publishers. Please, more presentations like this in the future. And fewer announcements of announcements and mini-bites.
Just as the fans were thrilled by the presentation on Saturday, that is positive, honest hype. That is a good feeling. Give us that more often.
What was presented in detail at Warframe can be read here:

The MOBA Paragon is getting a huge update in August, where the game will be massively rebuilt. Especially the card system and some heroes will work completely differently soon.
Paragon is a game that is constantly evolving. And it is not about small patches and changes that every modern game receives regularly. Rather, Paragon was already completely revamped and readjusted in the Monolith Update.
In August, another major update called v42 will be released. Although there won’t be as extreme changes as there were in Monolith, there will still be a number of different adjustments.
Paragon – New Graphics, Changed Card System, Revised Heroes
The changes in update v42 affect some key aspects of the game and overall the innovations are more comprehensive than in the updates “Year One” and “Age of Intellect”. From August 8, 2017, the following changes will apply in Paragon:
The Monolith map will be graphically revised and receive its final design
The heroes Iggy&Scorch will be revised
The card system will undergo a massive overhaul. You will no longer receive “Card Points”, but a fixed in-game currency with which you buy your cards and assemble the deck.
The game economy will be balanced
With the changes to the economy and the map, the gameplay will also be realigned
A new mastery system is coming
In addition to the new heroineZinx, who will arrive in the upcoming update v.41.3 and brings “Mega Sustain in the Off-Lane”, another ranged–carry hero will be introduced in August
Update v42 is just the beginning, Epic Games plans to bring further major changes afterwards, such as improving accessibility and the user interface and revising even more heroes.
What do you think about the changes in Paragon? Do you find it good that the game is being revamped so often or would you prefer the MOBA to stay as it is now? Let us know in the comments!
Appear offline and still play? Safe from messages and invitations from the friends list? Found hints about the function in Hearthstone . Players in WoW and Overwatch also wish for this mode.
A feature that Blizzard announced a long time ago could soon be activated. We are talking about the “Appear Offline” option, which allows you to play online, but remain invisible to your friends in the friends list.
Fans have long desired such a function to finally play Blizzard’s games “undisturbed”. The offline mode could soon be introduced in Hearthstone.
Offline Mode in Hearthstone
In the latest patch for Blizzard’s popular card game “Hearthstone”, there are new hints about the desired offline function. Data miners have taken a close look at the game’s code and have come across interesting lines.
The code states:
GLOBAL_FRIENDLIST_CHALLENGE_BUTTON_IM_APPEARING_OFFLINE You can’t challenge {0} right now. You are set to appear offline.
GLOBAL_CHAT_SENDER_OFFLINE You are currently offline.
GLOBAL_CHAT_SENDER_APPEAR_OFFLINE You may not send chat messages while you are set to appear offline.
These lines inform the player, who appears as “Offline”, that they cannot challenge players or send chat messages while offline. A significant progress that indicates that this feature is now apparently being actively worked on.
The patience of many players has been stretched on this topic for a long time, because Blizzard already mentioned in 2012 that the team wanted to look into this feature more closely. However, not much has happened since then.
An offline mode is desired, as it is immediately recognizable in Blizzard’s games what a player from the friends list is playing. The social factor of this feature is clear: friends can quickly send messages and invite each other to play, making it fast and uncomplicated. However, those who want peace and do not want to show every friend that they are currently playing, see no option available. Because until now, there has been no function for that.
Appear offline in WoW and Overwatch?
Not only players from Overwatch or Hearthstone wish for such a function. Many gamers from the community would also like to appear offline in WoW, to avoid group or raid invitations and simply be “by themselves” for a while.
However, the implementation is not that easy, because for example, in the world of Azeroth, it can quickly lead to confusion if you suddenly stand next to your buddy in the auction house, who is actually “offline”.
It is currently unclear whether Blizzard is “testing” the offline mode in Hearthstone to later implement it in all games. Perhaps only selected games will receive the feature that fans have long wished for. As soon as there are any updates, you will read about it with us.
Riot Games, the creators behind League of Legends, are suing Moonton, the developers of the game “Mobile Legends.” They see copyright infringement. Additionally, they seem to want to make room for their own mobile version “Strike of Kings.”
Lawsuit against Moonton and Mobile Legends
Okay, if you name your game “Mobile Legends,” you should see this coming.
Riot Games accuses Moonton of copying the “League of Legends” brand with their game “Mobile Legends.” Mobile Legends is available for iOS and Android.
Riot says Moonton copies elements from League of Legends across a number of their games. This starts with the use of a nearly identical map like LoL’s “Summoner’s Rift.” Some of the heroes, the towers, and even the fonts are clearly in the LoL style.
The issue has a backstory; back in August 2016, Riot wanted Google to remove the game “Mobile Legends” from Google Play. However, Google did not take action, but Moonton did on their own.
They modified the game a bit and addressed complaints that Riot had raised with Google. For example, Riot pointed out the similarity with the character “Garen.”
But apparently, Riot Games finds these changes insufficient, hence the lawsuit.
So you can see for yourself, here is gameplay from Mobile Legends – it dates back to late 2016:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPvSJMMc_Ss
League of Legends is already getting a “mobile clone,” but from its own parent company
A spicy matter, notes the site pvplive. Normally, one could say: Well, League of Legends is available for PC. What does Riot care that Moonton is making a mobile version?
But the company behind Riot Games, Tencent Games, has developed a kind of “mobile version” of League of Legends in Asia: the game “Honor of Kings.”
This has taken off in Asia and is incredibly successful. Honor of Kings is so successful that there are concerns about addiction stemming from the game, and the Chinese government has targeted it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qt6xbiA99CM
As “Strike of Kings,” a 5vs5 arena game, the version is also available in the West.
And yes … it also looks like LoL. But Riot Games probably won’t sue for that.
Reaction from Mobile Legends: They threaten with a lawsuit against rivals and media
Update 11.7. 13:56: There is a reaction from Mobile Legends, an official statement. They claim that the accusations are groundless. Mobile Legends is a MOBA developed independently, and its copyright is already registered and protected in some countries.
Some media and competitors have spread these negative information and rumors against them. They reserve the right to take legal action against them.
More about “Honor of Kings” and the conflict with the Chinese government:
While the Midtown map is located on Earth – in a district of the Last City – the “Endless Vale” map is on Nessus.
Nessus is one of the four new worlds in Destiny 2. It is a planetoid, a small planet, transformed by the Vex into a “machine world.”
Thus, you will also find plenty of Vex architecture in the Endless Vale. Additionally, the red vegetation is the trademark of Nessus. Many Guardians are reminded of the design of Nessus as “No Man’s Sky”.
The Bungie developer highlights a few special locations on the map. Near Zone B, there is a sort of hiding place from which you can surprise the enemies. You jump up and have Zone B directly in your sights. There is also a tree on the map that can be used as cover. Or you can jump over it and have the element of surprise.
Generally, it is a map where battles are fought at close range. You will see many SMGs or pistols, according to Calihan. However, there are also a few places where you have a long sight. Here, you can also pull out the snipers.
By the way: The power ammo, the “new heavy ammo,” spawns near the spawn points of both teams. In the gameplay material from IGN, power ammo is immediately available. However, that will not be the case at the launch of Destiny 2.
Everyone has their problems with the sisters. With elves in WoW, it is particularly bad when one unfortunately is an undead.
With Patch 7.3, there is a reunion of some characters in World of Warcraft: Legion who haven’t seen each other in a very long time. The sister duo of the Windrunners, consisting of Vereesa, Alleria, and Sylvanas.
Alleria disappeared during the events of Warcraft II and has since been cut off from contact with Azeroth. Thus, she has no idea what has happened to her sisters in the meantime.
Sylvanas led the defense of Silvermoon when the Scourge invaded Quel’Thalas. She died and was resurrected by Arthas as a banshee. Shortly thereafter, she reclaimed her body, broke free from the will of the Lich King, and founded the Forsaken. Now she leads the Horde – exactly the Horde that once counted as enemies of the high elves.
Vereesa is a high elf and has never succumbed to fel magic like the other blood elves. She is part of the Alliance and was the wife of Rhonin, the former leader of the Kirin Tor.
It is precisely from this elven triangle that exciting conversations arise, which appear for the first time with Patch 7.3. Here is a dialogue (freely translated from English) in which Arator (the son of Alleria), Vereesa, and Alleria discuss their sister Sylvanas on Argus:
Arator: Without a doubt, my mother will soon ask about Sylvanas. What will you tell her? Vereesa: This is a conversation I know I have to have, but the thought of it fills me with dread. How can Alleria explain what has become of our sister? The truth will break her heart.
(…)
Alleria: I need to know, Vereesa. What fate has befallen our sister? Vereesa: Give me a moment. I will explain it to you as best as I can… Alleria: Impossible! I refuse to believe that she now leads the Horde! Not after all the things they did to us during the war. Vereesa: There is more. I… I am not sure how to explain the rest. Or if this is even the time and place to- Alleria: Sisters are complicated. Especially the undead. Vereesa: Perhaps we should discuss this matter in private. Come, sister.
Cortyn says: I am really excited that characters finally had contact with each other again, who haven’t heard from each other for over a decade. I really hope that the long wait for Turalyon and Alleria was worth it – because fans of the series have been waiting for these encounters for a very long time.
The teaser video for Kayn, the new champion in League of Legends, has been released. The release of patch 7.14 is on Wednesday.
The new patch 7.14 is expected on Wednesday, July 12. Due to the preparation for the update, the servers will be unavailable for several hours. The update introduces the new champion Kayn, who can even leave the map with one of his abilities. The teaser video now presents the new champion.

About two weeks ago, the first information about Kayn, the new champion in League of Legends, emerged. A video leak of various abilities of the new character piqued the fans’ curiosity, as he appears in two different forms. Shortly after the leak, Riot then submitted the official announcement of Kayn and Rhaast and presented the abilities.
What is clear: These two characters, paired in one champion, bring variety to the Summoner’s Rift.
Other champions in League of Legends can teleport over short distances or bypass walls in other ways. Kayn goes “one step further” and can even leave the Summoner’s Rift – if only temporarily. His E ability “Shadow Step” allows him to walk through walls. This includes the outer walls of the LoL maps.
E – Shadow Step: Kayn temporarily gains increased movement speed and can walk through walls for a few moments. Upon entering a wall, he heals a bit and the duration of Shadow Step is significantly extended. If Kayn is in combat with enemy champions, the duration is not extended.
The entire ability kit sounds promising and was actually considered typical jungler abilities by Riot. However, players are already trying to figure out builds that make Kayn useful on the top lane as well.
Which form the new champion takes, apparently depends on how hungry you are for kills. If you kill a melee bruiser, the Darkin role takes over. If a soft carry falls victim to you, the Shadow Assassin emerges.
LoL Patch 7.14 – Patch Notes – Release on Wednesday
In the new Patch 7.14 for League of Legends, alongside Kayn and Rhaast, we expect bug fixes and balance updates for some champions. As Riot has now explained, the new patch will hit the servers on Wednesday (July 12).
So far, there are no patch notes yet, but we expect them soon and will report on it.
Due to this patch, the LoL servers will be unavailable from around 10:30 AM German time for three hours. Games that are still running at that time will end in a draw.
The battle royale shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been a huge success on Steam for weeks. It’s about time we took a look at the game. Jürgen volunteered and had to die often to deliver the following lines.
It doesn’t sound like a lot of fun to be dropped unarmed on an island full of weapons with 99 psychopaths and be the only one who is supposed to survive. Especially when tons of other players have picked the same starting spot and have already scavenged all the weapons.
And when one of those nice players encounters you with a gun and you can only shake your fist in anger, the fun is over quicker than you can say “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds”.
But I had literally tasted blood and so I had to start a new round of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – “Damn, why is single fire set?!”
In my second round, I had more success and survived. 23 players were not so lucky. I even found a thick Kalashnikov in an old Soviet military base, but to my dismay, it was set to single fire and I didn’t know how to switch it to full auto.
So when I made contact with another player, disaster struck. I caught the guy off guard, aimed roughly, and held down the fire button. One shot fired, that was it. The startled enemy turned around and started shooting. Before I figured out how to shoot properly with the AK, I was already Swiss cheese, but at least I ranked 77.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – Death lurks everywhere!
Round 3 didn’t go much better. This time I had wisely checked how to switch fire modes and how to aim with scopes. It’s – at least for me – anything but clear that you have to click the left mouse button twice!
But back to the game. I found another AK and went hunting. There was already an enemy who just unsuspectingly disappeared into a building! I’ll take him! Shortly thereafter, it went “Bang” and I was dead because some monkey shot me from ambush. But I had already ranked 66, yeah!
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – My girlfriend killed me!
New round, new luck. In a village at the beginning of the game, I found a lot of cool stuff, various weapons, a red dot sight, and even the cool black coat from the promo screenshots. Total badass!
I cautiously sneaked through the alleys and jumped in fright because the thunderclap of the ongoing thunderstorm sounded like a shot.
But all the caution didn’t help against sabotage from outside. Just as I was looking around on a rooftop, my girlfriend came into the room and wanted something. I was only briefly distracted, and then someone shot me! Round over, coat gone, but at least ranked 49!
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – First Blood in Round 5
I had already played four rounds and hadn’t gotten a single kill. But that would soon change because in round 5, I landed at the start in an apartment block where a fully automatic shotgun was lying. I loaded it and went hunting. And there it was, my first victim! He only had a lousy pistol and was hiding behind a broken wall. I flanked the enemy and gave him a couple with the shotgun.
The enemy was finished and I got my first kill! Encouraged by this first success, I continued wandering around and suddenly found myself in a “red zone”. I noticed it because suddenly grenades were falling around me and I was running for my life between the explosions like in a Michael Bay movie!
I had one kill; I couldn’t die from a random event now! As soon as I escaped the death zone and the constantly approaching force field, a panicked player drove past me in a jeep.
I shot like crazy and the enemy drove recklessly into the nearby river. He tried to save himself by swimming, I shot like crazy. But due to the occasional lag, I hit nothing and the guy swam away from me.
On the other side, he started shooting again, but I had no more ammunition for my assault rifle and the shotgun didn’t have enough range. I tried it with the pistol, but the opponent had a rifle and shot me! But at least I ranked 50 and got my first kill!
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – From victim to killer
Finally, I got a kill and could finally afford a loot box with the in-game money I collected. There was nothing decent in it, but it didn’t matter. The reward effect is what counts!
But I was rewarded even more in the following rounds. While I didn’t always get a kill, I consistently got quite far and had a lot of fun and excitement. The longer a game lasts, the more dangerous it becomes. The play area becomes smaller, enemies appear more concentrated, and someone could be lurking around every corner.
But I was no longer a scared little victim flinching at every thunderclap and wandering around in the starting zone like a frightened chicken. I still wasn’t a veteran, but I had made my first experiences and was familiar enough with the game. So my tenth and last round of the evening was also my best: I managed to get two kills and made it into the last eight players!
Unfortunately, in the end, I was a bit too slow and was pressed so hard by the force field that I had to cross an open field. On the other end, however, someone was already camping and I was shot down without a chance. But I have literally tasted blood and will soon book another flight to the nameless battle royale island.
Jürgen’s conclusion: I didn’t think that I would have so much fun with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds! The game is somewhat off-putting with its rather dull graphics and the numerous bugs and lag issues still present. But even in this unfinished state, it’s a blast and hard to stop playing.
If you die quickly, there’s still time for a new round. And if you make it to the end, you’ll be so full of adrenaline that you’ll want to keep going. A really successful game concept. Now I just hope that Bluehole quickly develops and improves the game. Those many lags are really annoying.
The gaming platform Steam has done some serious housekeeping. Over 40,000 accounts have been closed!
Those who like to cheat regularly in games have already lost quite a few gaming accounts. This is where particularly cheap offers come in handy, where games cost only a fraction of the actual price – such as the Summer Sale from Steam.
However, just one day after the end of the Summer Sale, there was a major incident. Apparently, Steam has taken decisive action and launched a sweeping crackdown against cheaters and fraudsters. According to several databases that check Steam user data, the operators have permanently closed just over 40,000 gaming accounts!
This is the largest ban wave that Steam has ever had on its platform. The old record of “only” 15,000 banned accounts from October 2016 now takes a distant second place.
Many games on Steam are secured by VAC (Valve Anti Cheat). If a player is identified cheating in a game, they can (as a rule) no longer play online in all other VAC games.
Although there hasn’t been a confirmation from Valve regarding the actions, it seems that the day of account bans coincided quite closely with the end of the Summer Sale.
Effectively, the cheaters who bought during the Summer Sale literally threw their money out the window, as the suspension of their accounts likely also makes returning games impossible.
The money seems to have vanished into thin air. Or rather in this case, into steam.
What do you think of this hard approach? Is it a good thing that more is finally being done? Or is it cold calculation to “grab cash from the sale” first? Are you affected by the bans?

The zones of WoW: Legion are packed with content – but does the game lose something in the process?
If you take a closer look at the zones of World of Warcraft: Legion, you’ll find a theme park MMO in its purest form. Every location is filled with quests, treasure chests, and rare enemies. Whether it’s Val’sharah, Suramar, or Stormheim – adventures, challenges, and always rewards await everywhere.
But that’s exactly what bothers some fans. Not everyone wants action and excitement around every corner; some want to lose themselves in a zone. A zone should feel like a real environment, not like a carnival where something is always happening.
In Dragonblight, you were a small dot in the environment – the area was vast and desolate. Completely fitting.
They miss simply “disappearing” in a zone – anyone who has stood in the desolate surroundings of the Dragonblight (without a flying mount!) surely knows what the players are talking about. There were places where “nothing important” happened, which gave them such a beautiful atmosphere. But exactly those vast zones have become a rarity.
Jade Forest and Shadowmoon Valley were atmospheric zones
The Jade Forest from Mists of Pandaria is cited as a particularly positive example. The many small villages of the Pandaren and the numerous “beautiful locations” that didn’t even have quests leading to them remain a fond memory for many players. It felt like you were actually traveling through a beautiful forest and not in a forced-designed quest zone.
Also in Warlords of Draenor, there was another example. The Shadowmoon Valley (Alliance) was a wonderful landscape in which you could get lost. The small buildings of the Draenei with the numerous NPCs, who had different dialogues and followed a routine – that was beautiful.
Cortyn says: While I find all the areas of Legion beautiful and cohesive and certainly refer to them as some of the “most beautiful areas so far” in terms of sheer graphical splendor, I miss something.
When I think back to Shadowmoon Valley from WoD, I sometimes ran through the countryside for minutes, just taking in the surroundings, feeling like I was just a small part in a big world. Yes, I miss vast zones, with a bit more tranquility – maybe the next addon will help with that.
What do you think of the zones throughout the expansion? Should they be more like in Legion, where everything is a bit “tighter,” with a chest or a hidden mob waiting around every corner? Or do you wish for expansive zones that feel a bit more “realistic,” but don’t always offer a real reward? Let us know in the comments!
