In the MMO shooter Destiny, the Trials of Osiris begin today, July 14th. On which map are the Trials taking place?
5 more times!
You can play the Trials of Osiris in Destiny 5 more times. After that, it’s over. On August 11th, the last Trials will start, before this mode takes a long break and returns in the weeks following the launch of Destiny 2 in the sequel.
When and in what form the Trials will return is still unknown. We only know that the Trials will make a comeback and will then be played in 4v4. There are rumors that the Trials in Destiny 2 will be called the “Trials of the Nine.” However, this has not been officially confirmed.
Today’s Trials are still the “Trials of Osiris.” They begin at 7 PM and last until the next Weekly Reset on Tuesday at 11 AM. It will be played on the map Skyline.
What are the Trials of Osiris?
In the Trials, you engage in PvP battles in the “Elimination” mode. You compete against each other in teams of three and try to fill your point card with victories. If the opposing team is completely defeated, you win a round. Fallen team members can be revived. Here, not only a strong setup matters, but also communication among the Guardians. A thorough knowledge of the map is advantageous.
With 5 and 7 wins, you receive random rewards from Osiris’ stock. Additionally, you should keep an eye on Brother Vance’s bounties for extra rewards. If you’re in top form, you can reach Mercury with a “flawless” ticket and loot the chest with the fine loot there.
In Secret World Legends, various players were suddenly banned after having a few cozy grind sessions. There may be an unknown exploit behind this.
Update: Funcom has now responded to our inquiry and explained that it was indeed an exploit. The associated bug has since been fixed and players can grind peacefully again, even with teams. By the way, only a small number of players were banned, who had exploited this exploit to an extreme degree and, for example, farmed over 15 million XP illegally.
Secret World Legends is primarily about mysteries and cool stories. Nevertheless, it is still an online role-playing game and this also includes a proper grind. For instance, when you want to acquire some cool items or farm XP for skill points.
There’s actually nothing wrong with that, but those who take grinding too far in a group are likely to get banned quickly right now.
Secret World Legends – Grinding prohibited!
The player and Reddit user Eleraan just wanted to grind for a few rounds in Transylvania with a few other guys. He fought his way through the Carpathians for about five hours until it got too boring for him and he logged out with a well-filled XP and game money account.
When he wanted to log back in later, he was quite surprised because his account was temporarily banned. The reason was said to be an exploit. However, Eleraan claims he did nothing wrong, just grinded hard – as one does in MMOs.
Secret World Legends – Is it an exploit?
He posted his fate on Reddit, and soon other players reported similar experiences. They also complained that they were banned for harmless grinding. An official statement from Funcom is still missing.
Many players suspect that it has to do with a bug that incorrectly calculates XP in groups and multiplies it with group members. Therefore, the problem may lie here. However, certainty will only come when Funcom itself addresses the issue.
We have therefore requested clarification from the developers. Until then, you should rather avoid extensive grind sessions in groups.
Overhead flights, backward rolls, and stunts in the clouds. In the video, you can see insane stunts with the rocket bike in GTA 5 Online.
In GTA 5 Online, it’s not just about shootouts, bank heists, or racing modified sports cars. The developers are known for releasing crazy ideas as well. And a jet-powered motorcycle with wings fits this theme perfectly.
This crazy vehicle is utilized by the community for entertaining stunts in the online world of Grand Theft Auto V.
Oppressor in GTA 5 – Insane Stunts in the Air
The latest GTA DLC “Gunrunning” has introduced many interesting vehicles to the game. Among them is the new rocket bike “Oppressor“, with which you can easily take off and leave traffic jams and roadblocks behind. Besides these obvious advantages in traffic, the motorcycle offers plenty of stunt opportunities.
Stunt crews have been using almost every free minute since the release to perfect new jumps and dangerous maneuvers.
On the YouTube channel of TheIvaneh, you can see how difficult these stunts are and what a pink airplane has to do with it. He has already tried some jumps and actions with his stunt group. The good thing is: Not only the wins, but also the fails are funny and entertaining. In the following video, you can see for yourself:

The group of GTAmissions also brings the new mobile command center into play for the stunts. Visually, the truck with trailer does not look like an optimal stunt vehicle. However, the team finds a way to use the truck as a target and ramp.

Oppressor Purchase Price – At least 2.6 million GTA$
If you are now tempted and want to perform cool stunts with the rocket bike, you will have to lay down a lot of money. Players who have completed the special gunrunning mission from the mobile command center can get the motorcycle for a purchase price of 2,650,000 GTA$.
If you don’t own a bunker or a mobile command center, you will have to pay 3,524,500 GTA$ to buy the motorcycle at Warstock. A hefty price, but it rewards you with one of the coolest vehicles in GTA 5 Online.

A ring will be available in Japan starting tomorrow, allowing you to wear the Pokémon GO Plus on your finger. This is what the curious invention looks like.
There will soon be a new Pokémon GO accessory specifically developed for the GO Plus. It is a ring to which you can attach and control the Plus gadget. It will initially be released in Japan tomorrow – whether there will be a global release remains uncertain.
Pokémon GO Plus Ring
The new ring for the GO Plus gadget will be available in Japan starting tomorrow, July 15. It costs 400 Japanese Yen – it may sound like a lot, but it’s only about 3€ when converted. At this price, it’s clear that the GO Plus gadget is not included.
The special feature of this ring is that you will no longer wear the Pokémon GO Plus on your wrist with a strap or clipped to your pants, but “within reach” on your finger. Whether this purchase is “worth it” must be decided by each individual.
Source: Nintendosoup
Additionally, there will be visual changes that come with the purchase of a GO Plus or a ring starting July 15 (in Japan) – stickers! With these, you can make the GO Plus look like a Super, Hyper, or Master Ball.
Source: Nintendosoup
What is a Pokémon GO Plus?
With the GO Plus gadget, you can easily catch Pokémon or collect items from PokéStops without actively using your smartphone. You simply connect the small gadget to your smartphone via Bluetooth and register the little helper in the game.
Once the connection is successful, you will be notified by a vibration alert or a light from the drop-shaped piece of technology. Catching or collecting happens with a simple press of a button.
Oops, unfortunately this affiliate widget is no longer available.
Since the connection is made via Bluetooth, you can keep your smartphone in your backpack or pocket and still go on a Pokémon hunt.
Can you still discover something in Destiny 2 or is everything already known before the release?
The release of Destiny 2 is just less than two months away. In advance, Bungie and Activision are heavily promoting it. They held a dedicated gameplay premiere event in May, released several trailers, are present at all major gaming events, and conducted countless interviews – with the aim of getting players excited about Destiny 2 and driving the hype train.
Due to this extensive marketing campaign, we already know a lot about the Destiny sequel: We know the villain Ghaul and roughly the story of the main campaign, we are aware of the three new Guardian subclasses, and have already seen footage of the new worlds, new exotics, and new enemies.
Moreover: Throughout July, IGN will be releasing almost daily exclusive info about Destiny 2. Many fans are asking and fearing: Is there anything left to discover at the launch of Destiny 2? Or do we already know everything in advance? Hardly anyone can escape all the spoilers.
Nothing beats “Vault of Glass” moments
With all the information flood about Destiny 2 that has been ongoing for two months and is expected to continue for another two months, Guardians have concerns:
For many Guardians, there is nothing more exciting or tempting about Destiny than the unknown. Every “Year 1” Guardian surely remembers the “Vault of Glass” moments when they excitedly traversed the chamber, turned over every stone, and felt like explorers. And the more we know about Destiny 2, the less unknown content there is. There’s less to discover on your own.
However, there are not only concerns about what Bungie says, but also about what Bungie does not say:
Currently, there is a concern that there will only be six subclasses in Destiny 2 – the three new focuses and the revamped Striker, Voidwalker, and Gunslinger. The reason for this concern is that Bungie has not mentioned anything about further focuses so far. And a statement like “There will be plenty of subclasses in Destiny 2” would be strong advertising. Some users interpret Bungie’s behavior as: “We only have six subclasses, but we won’t say that until we have your money!”
Much will not be revealed before the launch, says Bungie
Some Guardians asked Bungie what will happen with the remaining subclasses (Nightstalker, Dawnblade, Stormcaller) in Destiny 2. Project Lead Mark Noseworthy responded:
There are many things we will not announce or reveal before September 6.
They want the community to also have memories of shared discovery in Destiny 2.
So if you’re having panic attacks thinking you might know everything before the launch of Destiny 2, you can rest assured. There will still be plenty to discover.
For example, Bungie will not talk about new raids at all before the launch. These are the big unknown activities where you can fully embrace your spirit of discovery. At least for a few days. Because the global Guardian community will certainly solve all the secrets in Destiny 2 in record time.
The Asia MMORPG Revelation Online will soon provide you with a housing feature. Instead of ordinary houses and villas, you will move into an apartment complex that is on the back of a giant turtle. Additionally, the housing update will also include an archaeology system.
In Revelation Online, your heroes are indeed shining champions, flying through the skies on wings and performing mighty heroic feats, but they do not have their own apartment. However, that will soon change, as the major update Safe Haven is coming. In it, you can rent an apartment in a very unusual location.

Starting July 26, you can try out the housing system in the Safe Haven update yourself. However, your apartment is not a boring little house. Rather, your home is built on the back of a giant turtle that leisurely crawls through the vegetation.
You can rent an apartment in the Turtle Tavern starting at level 40 and open your own instance with up to nine neighbors. You may then furnish your apartments with up to 160 objects and also invite friends to celebrate parties.
Revelation Online – Become an archaeologist!
If you prefer crawling around in gloomy ruins instead of cozy apartments, you can engage with the new archaeology feature starting July 26. As an archaeologist, you will explore remote areas and ruins. This way, you will learn more about the mysterious world of Nuanor and uncover the history and mysteries of the world. And who knows, maybe more adventures like Indiana Jones await you in upcoming updates.
What do you think of the turtle apartments? A cool and original idea or do you prefer traditional houses after all? And what do you think is behind the archaeology feature? Just more lore content or real adventures? Let us know in the comments!
Those who wanted to try Mass Effect: Andromeda can now take advantage of it. EA is offering 10 hours on the house.
After all the mixed opinions about Mass Effect: Andromeda, you still don’t know if buying the RPG from BioWare is really worth it? Then now is the right time! BioWare allows all interested parties to spend 10 hours in Mass Effect: Andromeda as part of a trial version to get a first impression of the game. It doesn’t matter if you want to play the game on PC, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, all platforms are participating in the offer.
Test Mass Effect: Andromeda for 10 hours
During the 10 hours, you can relatively freely do what you want in the game. Whether you hang out with friends in multiplayer mode or start the story. However, after a certain point, the story is no longer accessible, but most players will hardly reach the limit if they explore the first planet extensively.
In the past, there was a “10-hour trial version” of the game, back then for pre-order customers. However, this received much criticism and probably did not do the game any favors, as there were still many problems and faulty animations at that time.
By the way: Anyone who participated in the previous trial version can no longer participate in this trial version.
Cortyn says: I still think it’s a bad idea to dip into the first 10 hours of the game. After all, this section is quite tedious, and the real fun comes later when there are several planets to choose from and the story picks up speed. At least for the multiplayer mode, the trial version is definitely worth it, as it is a lot of fun. Anyone who is still unsure about Mass Effect: Andromeda should take this opportunity!
The weekend is approaching and you can treat yourselves to a few well-deserved days of relaxing gaming. But what’s on the schedule? We want to know!
The weekend is here and it promises exciting MMOs. But what’s worth playing the most right now? Is it the big grind in Black Desert Online or the climbing tours in Conan Exiles? In the following paragraphs, you will find out what’s currently trending and what we in the editorial team are playing over the weekend.
Games for the Weekend – Fun with Grinding and at the Water Park
Additionally, there’s the new Terrmian Water Paradise in the northwest of Olvia. There, you have the opportunity to complete various fun quests until August 9th. In return, you will receive tokens that you can exchange for even more resources, such as valuable black stones or headgear as costumes.
Games for the Weekend – Climbing Naked Barbarians
In Conan Exiles, the bloody barbarian survival MMO from Funcom, there has been a new update that allows you to climb freely. From now on, you can climb on any surface and reach previously inaccessible regions.
The longer you climb, the more stamina you consume, and if you run out of breath, you’ll fall down and possibly to your death. Since you lose stamina faster when well-equipped, naked climbing is currently very much in vogue.
What is the Editorial Team Playing?
We from the Mein-MMO editorial team are happily gaming again this weekend. The following games are on our list:
Leya is currently on the go, but still has the opportunity to play the latest version of Smite Tactics.
Schuhmann has made good progress in FF 14 Stormblood and is already level 66!
Ttime plays Destiny and FIFA 17. He also wants to get Platinum in Until Dawn.
Patrick is currently on the hunt for the Yeti in Ghost Recon Wildlands and is chasing hat-wearing Pikachus in Pokémon GO in the real world.
Cortyn is playing some weird games from her Steam list that are not MMOs.
I, Jürgen, am currently having a blast with Secret World Legends and will likely spend a good part of the weekend in the dark secret world, bringing the righteousness of the Templars closer to the creatures of the shadows with assault rifle and sword. I will definitely avoid grinding, as it might cost me my account.

Those who throw in Overwatch too early ruin the fun for everyone. Blizzard plans to impose stricter penalties.
A hard-earned victory in Overwatch is quite a fine thing. And even a narrow defeat can be enjoyable if everyone involved has put in effort. But as we know, that is not always the case in Overwatch.
Time and again, you encounter some special “experts” in the games, especially in Competitive, who deliberately ruin the game for everyone else and give up from the very start. Often, it’s enough if a teammate picks a character they dislike or if the team does not play “2-2-2” because, in their eyes, any other combination of heroes automatically leads to a defeat.
These throwers, or players who deliberately give up and stop trying, are a real plague.
For several months now, Blizzard has promised to tighten the rules and impose tougher sanctions on players who ruin the fun for everyone in this way. However, because there has been no update on the situation for weeks, people in the official forums believe that the problem is simply being ignored.
But that is not the case.
Jeff Kaplan promises details on harsher penalties soon
In the official forum, Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, once again emphasized that a post discussing the new rules and sanctions will be published soon. The current penalties are insufficient. Previously, frequently reported players were simply stripped of their chat and voice privileges, but that did not stop many from intentionally giving up.
What penalties there will be is still unknown. However, there has already been encouragement in the discussion beforehand to completely exclude repeat offenders from the ranked game mode.
A film focuses on World of Warcraft – and specifically the race for the First Kills. A drama of a different kind.
The life of a gamer doesn’t lend itself to a film? What is there to see? A typical nerd sitting in front of the computer all day?
No way! At Comic Con, the trailer for the film “Game Changers” was presented, focusing on a topic that has received little attention in film and television – if we exclude the “violent video game” debates.
The two protagonists were passionate gamers in their youth. All their free time was invested in the trading card game Magic: The Gathering and later in console games like Halo on the Xbox, until they even won a prestigious tournament.

But the years go by and both drift away from gaming. The “seriousness of life” with a steady job catches up with them.
They repeatedly feel this emptiness inside and the urge to reconnect with the old days. That’s why they try again to achieve something truly meaningful as gamers – and strive for a World-First Kill in World of Warcraft!
To achieve this, they need to recruit old friends, form a guild, and solve plenty of interpersonal issues (not to mention that they also need to play a lot).
Although the story leaves much room for comedy, it seems to be more of a drama. There’s a small love drama, the exploitation of friendships for personal gain, and so on…
What do you think of such a film? Would you watch it? Or should gaming not be portrayed on the big screen in this way?
In The Division, Exotics will need improvements in the future. Massive is asking for your help.
The developers of The Division are already planning for the distant future.
In the near future, Update 1.7 will be released, which will introduce the classified gear pieces into the MMO shooter. These will be the “new best items” that you can hunt. They have better stats than all other gear pieces, which leads to: The current gear set pieces, the high ends, and the exotics will become outdated. Anyone who wants the best gear will have to leave these items behind and switch to the classified gear.
The exotics will lose significant value – and will need a serious boost from the buff bottle in a future update.
What Happens to Exotics in Update 1.7?
The problem: Massive is leaving the exotics and high ends behind with the introduction of classified gear. They will remain as they are now. We have reported that the classified gear pieces will dominate then.
While the exotics and high ends will still provide their special talents, anyone who wants to remain competitive will sooner or later have to switch to the new gear pieces that have higher main attributes.
Just over a week ago, community developer Yannick Banchereau admitted that exotics will lose value and significance in 1.7. However, it is conceivable that they will be revalued in the future.
A survey recently went live where you can share your opinion on the exotics with Massive.
First, you will answer general questions: What platform do you play on, how many gameplay hours do you have, what are your favorite activities?
Then it will be about exotic gear pieces and weapons. What do you think of the exotics, which are your favorite exotics? You will have to rank the items. Then you can indicate what you would change about the exotics and what you would improve.
Next, the survey will cover other topics, such as gear mods, cosmetic items, character customization options, and currencies.
If you want, you can participate in the survey and share your opinion with Massive.
We at Mein-MMO want to continually improve, and we need your feedback for that. What would you, as our readers, like to see more often on our page? Let us know and help make Mein-MMO better.
Mein-MMO has developed significantly in the few years since our founding. But there is always something to improve. For example, the focus of our site, which currently concentrates mainly on news and current information about online games and covers games outside the mainstream.
Survey – Prefer news or more specials?
So that we know what the majority of you would like to see on our site, we have prepared a small survey for you. In it, we want to know what topics you prefer. Should it be the good old news, of which you would like to have as many as possible in the future – even about less mainstream games?
Or would you prefer more original content from us, such as columns and comments on current topics like Cortyn’s Mecker-Mittwoch? Would you like Schuhmann to engage in investigative reporting more often and bring more reports on sensitive and controversial topics like the issue with Ziro.TV in Destiny? Or do you even prefer articles on topics that are actually foreign to MMOs like Leya’s board game report back then?
Participate in the survey and let us know. We will evaluate the results later and implement them accordingly.
Attention: You can only choose one of the points, the one that is most important to you.
Have fun voting! We are excited to see what you wish for from us! Also use the comment function and let us know if you have specific ideas and suggestions.

Even though Star Citizen is still far from a launch, the space MMO already looks fantastic. This is shown in the new trailer “Lost&Found.”
In the new cinematic trailer, crash sites of spaceships including the wrecks can be seen. In the game, you will find and salvage these wrecks all over the planets. You can check out how cool this looks and how atmospheric it can be in the trailer now. The salvage crew is cutting their way inside to see if any useful items can be found there.

Additionally, Cloud Imperium Games released a new Around-the-Verse video. This one also deals with the shipwrecks. The developers explain in the video how these wrecks and crash sites are integrated into the game.
This starts with the developers having to find suitable locations on the procedurally generated planets where a crash site will be placed. This location should look interesting to the player; hence, not just any random spot is chosen.
Then, the developers place the shipwreck there and decorate the crash site accordingly. The lighting conditions are also taken into account so that the site really feels atmospheric. Players exploring the planet should be surprised to find a wreck there that might tell an interesting story. Who flew this ship? What happened? Perhaps you will then find clues in the wreck.

A Safari Zone in Centro Oberhausen brings you cool rewards like rare Pokémon. How far would you travel for such a Pokémon GO event?
For the first anniversary of Pokémon GO, the developers are rewarding the community with new features, special Pokémon, and unique Safari Zones. Special events are held at sponsored locations and shopping malls that collaborate with Pokémon GO. Here in Germany, there is only one of these spots – it is far in the west of Germany, in the city of Oberhausen near Düsseldorf.
Would you travel several hundred kilometers to catch special Pokémon?
All across Germany for a Kangama?
In the coming weeks and months, Niantic will be holding Safari Zones at sponsored PokéStops. These zones attract trainers who want to fill their Pokédex with special monsters. “Special” in this case means regional Pokémon.
Most monsters in Pokémon GO can be found all over the world in the wild. Taubsi, Kramurx, and Dummisel can be found not only in Europe but also in Asia and the USA. However, there are also regional Pokémon that only exist in certain locations around the world. Porenta can only be found in Asia, Tauros in North America, and Pantimos here in Europe – that’s why these special specimens are so sought after. You can find all regional Pokémon and their locations here
Now you soon have the chance to find these regional Pokémon like Kangama, Tauros, Porenta, Corasonn, or Skaraborn in Germany as well. But would it be worth a long trip to you? Because the Safari Zone in Germany will be activated only in the shopping center “Centro” in Oberhausen. For some trainers, that means more than 100 kilometers of travel to include the rare monsters in their collection.
Many trainers on social media are complaining that this event is only being activated at a single location in Germany. They feel the game is not worth traveling that far. “All Pokémon should be findable everywhere,” many players write on Facebook.
Other trainers are even planning trips and using the opportunity for a short vacation with family or friends, willingly taking on a few hundred kilometers of travel.
How far would you travel for Pokémon GO? Vote now!
The “Destiny 2” beta is still a (near) future event. Today Xur is coming. Let’s see what he brings for the Guardians. Let’s welcome him together.
All information about Xur in Destiny on July 14th, July 15th and July 16th on PS4 and Xbox One
Xur will appear at the Tower or the Reef at 11 AM. He will then take one of his favorite positions and willingly show you his inventory. You need Strange Coins to buy his goods. He will disappear again on Sunday, also at 11 AM.
Where is Xur? Location today
Xur has specific positions in the Tower and the Reef where he likes to hang out. This time he is at the Tower near the Speaker on the balcony.
Warlock: Starfire Protocol – Chest armor with 52 Discipline and 60 Strength
All armor pieces cost 13 Strange Coins.
Legacy Engram: Body armor for 29 coins.
Besides the Tower, another familiar location from Destiny 1 is returning in Destiny 2: The Felwinter Peak. There is a Crucible map up there. All information about it:
SMITE, Paladins, and Hand of the Gods are thriving – major updates are coming for all games!
The developer HiRez Studios currently has three hot irons in the fire, with which they want to conquer or have already conquered the gaming market.
SMITE – The godly MOBA from a third-person perspective
Paladins – The hero shooter that is regarded as the “free variant of Overwatch”
Hand of the Gods – A tactical, turn-based strategy card game in the SMITE universe
And all three games are thriving, so there are some announcements to make for each of the games.
SMITE is overhauling many systems
In the MOBA SMITE, the patch named “Project Olympus” is on the horizon, aimed at fixing many small and larger issues in the game. A better interface display on consoles, a graphical revision of the victory map, and a new leveling system that can also promote players. There are also comfort features for newcomers, such as improved tutorial videos to help them navigate the game easier.

The lead developer of Overwatch reveals the win rates on the battlegrounds. And two stand out significantly.
In Overwatch, there are constant accusations that certain aspects of the game are not sufficiently balanced. But are these accusations grounded? Are the different maps actually unfair to one side or the other?
Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, has now spoken about this in the official forum of the game. He has released the internal data and revealed the winning percentages for attackers and defenders on all relevant maps.
Hanamura: Attackers 49.79%, Defenders 50.21%
Horizon: Attackers 54.50%, Defenders 45.50%
Temple of Anubis: Attackers 49.92%, Defenders 50.08%
Moon Colony Horizon and Eichenwalde are not perfectly balanced
For most maps, the balance looks quite good and is within the 1% margin – the developers are satisfied here. However, they are keeping an eye on the two maps Eichenwalde and Moon Colony Horizon. On Eichenwalde, defenders win more frequently, while on Horizon, attackers do.
Eichenwalde is very popular with the community – both as attackers and defenders – and is considered one of the “most fun” maps. Therefore, while they are considering changes, they do not want to jeopardize the fun of the map.
With Moon Colony Horizon, they do not want to rush into changes and prefer to wait a few more weeks. In the past, there have been maps where (at the release of the game) a balance of 30-70 existed. However, there wasn’t a major outcry, and over time, the values normalized.
Did you think that most maps are so closely matched? Or do you feel that some maps are particularly bad for attackers or defenders?
In Destiny 2 , Bungie is making the final preparations for the beta. A total of six subclasses are playable.
Since E3 2017, there has been confusion regarding the Guardian subclasses that will be playable in the beta. Luke Smith revealed that beta players can test six focuses. Later, it was said that only the three new subclasses will be available.
This week’s “This Week at Bungie” is entirely about the “Destiny 2” beta and brings clarity.
The focuses of the beta – with English names
A total of six Guardian subclasses are playable. The three new focuses, for which the English names are now known:
In the provided links, you can find more information about the “new” focuses.
In the beta, all grenades, melee attacks, and the upper path of the skill tree are already unlocked: You don’t need to play the beta for ages to test the abilities of the new subclasses. However, there is a limitation in the beta: The lower path of the focus overview is reserved for the full version of Destiny 2. The effects of these focus nodes cannot be tested in the beta.
More info about the Destiny 2 beta:
If you want to share your thoughts about the beta with the developers next week, you should visit the feedback forum or the page with game issues on Bungie.net.
You can already access the login screen of the beta. There you can hear the new “Destiny 2” music. The loading symbol in the bottom right constantly switches between the various class icons.
Known Issues of the Beta
Since this is a beta version, you should expect issues in advance:
Various network errors can occur while playing
During the beta, Bungie will be testing server stability, which can lead to error messages
In Crucible matches, the names of locations may sometimes not be displayed
In Countdown matches, you may occasionally be kicked to orbit after a black screen appears
If you join an ongoing game in the strike “The Twisted Column,” you may occasionally be placed back at the start of the activity
Some weapons or abilities may deal higher or lower damage than intended. Balancing is still ongoing
The preload of the beta of Destiny 2 for PS4 and Xbox One is approaching. To do this, you need a beta code. How do you obtain a code and how do you redeem it?
You need a beta code for two things:
With this, you get early access to the “Destiny 2” beta. This early access starts on July 18 on PS4 and on July 19 on Xbox One. From July 21, all players can join the beta without a code. PC players will have their turn at the end of August.
This allows you to start the preload of the beta from July 13 at 7 PM.
2 Ways to Get a Beta Key
There are two ways to obtain a key and thus gain early access to the beta:
Only from Thursday, July 13 at 7 PM, you will receive a download code for the “Destiny 2” beta. You will be contacted via email. Otherwise, you can go directly here to the code page. Update: Available now!
After you redeem the code, you must choose the platform and your region (Europe!). Then you will receive the download key.
Enter this in your console store. The download is approximately 13 GB.
Codes can only be redeemed once and redemption cannot be transferred or used with another account.
I pre-ordered, where is my beta code? – Amazon, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store
Currently, many players are asking where their beta code is.
Pre-order via Amazon
Amazon promises that you will receive a beta code in time before the test phase begins via email. Many users report having received the code days ago. If you are missing your code, check your spam folder or ask Amazon directly.
Pre-order via Console Store
If you pre-ordered via PlayStation Store or Xbox Store, the official information is:
You will automatically receive beta access at the beta launch through the account in the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store that you used to pre-order.
So a code is not required here. How the preload will proceed is currently not known. More information is expected today at 7 PM.
Update:
On Xbox One, you just need to search for “Destiny 2” in the store, then you will find the beta version.
Keep in mind that Bungie is not always precise with such timing information. If there is still no download code at exactly 7 PM and no preload is possible, then do not panic immediately.
In Destiny 2, you can soon start the preload for the beta on PS4 and Xbox One. This way, you can download the game data before the launch.
Next week, the beta phase for Destiny 2 begins. For a long time, the Guardians have been wondering if there would be a preload: in other words, the ability to download the game data in advance, so you can dive in right at server launch.
Now for the official confirmation: Yes, there will be a preload. And it starts today!
Pre-download of the Destiny 2 Beta
Activision confirmed to Polygon that the preload starts today, on July 13:
World-wide, Guardians can start the download on their PlayStation 4 or Xbox One at 7 PM our time. The download size is a good 13 GB (PS4).
Since the “Destiny 2” beta starts on July 18 on PS4, you have a full five days to download the game data. During this time, even slow internet connections should be able to manage to download large amounts of GB.
How can I start the preload?
You can only start the preload if you have a beta code, according to Polygon. You receive it by pre-ordering Destiny 2 or by looking for codes on social media. In recent days, for example, the Community Manager Cozmo repeatedly distributed beta codes. But you had to be quick. You then enter this code today at 7 PM in the console store.
The kickoff for the “Destiny 2” beta will start first on PS4. It will begin with a key on July 18 at 7 PM.
24 hours later, Xbox Guardians can join the beta with a key.
Starting on July 21, the open beta begins, to which all interested players on PS4 and Xbox One will get access.
The beta ends on July 23.
The beta for PC will follow at the end of August. There is no specific date yet.
