Destiny 2 will have a much better-connected community than Destiny 1 at the beginning. Glitches like this will spread and become popular in no time. Moreover, players now know how Destiny works and will quickly spot and exploit such errors for their advantage.

When it comes to free Wi-Fi, many users seem not to think much about it. Otherwise, they certainly wouldn’t have accepted the bizarre clauses of the internet provider Purple. But what exactly does Purple have in its terms of use, and why?
1,000 Hours of Work for Wi-Fi
Those who wanted free Wi-Fi from Purple had to accept the EULA (End User License Agreement) with a click of the mouse. However, while most EULAs only outline the usual rights and obligations of the users, Purple decided to have some fun and embed all sorts of shenanigans in the terms. In exchange for free Wi-Fi, users agreed to complete 1,000 hours of community service. This included, among other things, the following activities:
Cleaning public restrooms
Clearing clogged drains
Scraping hardened chewing gum off the street
Hugging stray dogs and cats
Picking up dog poop in the park
Painting snail houses and brightening up their dreary existence
Over 22,000 users allegedly accepted these terms according to Purple.
Unusual EULA Clauses as an Experiment
But what does Purple gain from these clauses? Do they want to troll and enslave their customers? Not at all, because as can be seen from the rather bizarre clauses (painting snails, really?), it’s all meant as a joke.
However, there is a serious background, as Purple wants to draw attention to the problem that far too few people read what they sign.
A ruthless company could obligate its customers to all sorts of unpleasant things. Purple does not intend to force affected users to complete 1,000 hours of silly tasks.
Rather, they aim to open the eyes of the customers and encourage them to be more cautious. By the way, such surprising and silly clauses would be invalid in Germany anyway.
Incidentally, there was a prize for all users who noticed the additional clauses and brought them to light. However, only one(!) of the 22,000 users did this.

During the Pokémon GO Fest, trainers around the world put a lot of effort into the game. This effort is to be rewarded, and Niantic is giving you strong bonuses like double stardust and double experience points. However, these bonuses don’t last forever and will end soon.
The special event will be over in just a few hours. You should hurry if you want to take advantage of the rewards.
Event Rewards: Stardust, Buddy, Candies – Only for a Short Time!
At the GO Fest in Chicago, there was a lot of effort exerted to unlock various Pokémon rewards. This was somewhat limited because the fest was a legendary mess, but it was enough for many cool bonuses.

Legendary Pokémon now in the game

The place is supposed to grow with the Guardians. As the heroes of humanity make progress in the fight against Ghaul, the Farm should grow larger, evolve, and provide space for new characters: a symbol of the Guardians’ successes.
With the Guardian, human civilization grows. This is symbolized by the Farm.
When is the Farm open today and for how long?
The plan is for the Farm to open at 7:00 PM our time and close at 8:00 PM. Whether this might be pushed back if the anticipated disaster occurs is currently unknown.

Curiously, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has now inspired an anime series.

Alongside the usual relationship dramas typical of the high school romance anime genre, the games played by the characters play an important role. After all, Gamers! is about gaming nerds.
Therefore, a brief scene appeared in the intro of the recently released second episode of Gamers! that clearly depicts a situation from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
One of the characters appears in the typical interface of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and does what you do in this game: eliminate other players. Although the name of the game is not mentioned, the typical interface and equipment look like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

The “mysterious task” that trainers were supposed to complete in Chicago apparently fell through due to technical problems. Niantic unlocked the reward after trainers worldwide allegedly reached the “Gold Tier”.
Lugia and Articuno come to Pokémon GO
Niantic just announced which legendary Pokémon will appear worldwide in the “next 48 hours.” However, it is still not quite clear how literally one should take “the next 48 hours” here.
They are Lugia and Articuno, two legendary birds.
Lugia was the “special reward” that would have been available if the event had succeeded.
Articuno will appear because the “Team Mystic” (Team Wisdom – Blue) has prevailed in the internal competition of teams. Team Valor (Red) came in second, and Team Instinct (Yellow) took third place.
Lugia will be available in “Legendary Raids Level 5” for 48 hours. Additionally, all trainers on-site in Chicago will receive a Lugia.
How and when Articuno will be distributed is still not quite clear. It will also appear as a raid boss, but later than Lugia.
Legendary Pokémon: Hope for Mew and Mewtwo is there, but the Pokémon themselves are not
During the event, several hints from a popular YouTuber were provided about which counters to use against legendary Pokémon. Strategies were also presented on how to deal with Mew and Mewtwo. They might still come, but probably not within the next 48 hours.
We do not yet know exactly what time the spectacle will start and when the raids with the two birds will begin.

Pokémon GO is currently celebrating the big GO Fest in Chicago, which is supposed to offer us legendary Pokémon worldwide. However, the servers are causing problems for trainers and Niantic. Players are unable to log in in Chicago. The fest is turning into a mess.

Niantic in crisis management
In a statement to the festival attendees, a Niantic official said: There are three technical issues they have been working on for hours. One on the service provider side, two others on Niantic’s side.
This is not the day they envisioned, but they hope for the patience of the players on site. The official also provided some tips and workarounds on how trainers in the park might still get Pokémon GO to work.
As a measure, Niantic has allowed players to leave the fest and return as they wish. Within a “two-mile radius” around the fest, catching Pokémon counts as if they were in the park itself. Therefore, many trainers have left the park and are now outside the designated area.
Festival attendees will get their money back
The GO Fest has not been canceled yet. Still, Niantic has already announced that players on-site will receive a refund for their tickets. Additionally, there are 100 dollars paid out in the form of PokéCoins, Pokémon GO’s premium currency.
Legendary Pokémon will still come – Silver Tier reached
For the players at home, things look good: Two “challenge phases” have now been completed and the “silver tier” has been unlocked. The “gold tier” should also be achieved in the third and final time window. Then the trainers in Chicago must still complete the “mystery challenge” to unlock the legendary Pokémon globally – Niantic will surely allow that, otherwise, they will be in trouble.
It seems certain that Niantic definitely wants to release the legendary Pokémon worldwide.

Because the YouTuber Sarsion has made it his mission to decipher the language of the Fallen, to give meaning to their sounds, and even to create a small grammar.
Learn 87 Fallen Words!
The language of the Eliksni, as the Fallen call themselves, can be heard quite frequently in Destiny. Unlike the other enemy races, the “Fallen” often shout some sounds at you – which, however, can be of little use.
Sarsion began deciphering the Fallen language when the “House of Wolves” DLC was released in May 2015. The reason: Then the character Variks entered the Destiny universe, who occasionally acts as a translator. Variks is an allied Fallen who is fluent in human language.
With these translations from Variks, Sarsion was able to analyze many moments where the Fallen talk to us. Especially Skolas, the Kell of Kells, and Taniks, the Shadow Thief, have quite loose tongues.
Since Sarsion assumed that Bungie created their own rules, a vocabulary, and a grammar for the Fallen language – just as they did in Halo games – he began to decipher them. In the meantime, he has translated 87 words of the Fallen – which he can also apply to Fallen monologues in the game, for which there are no translations from Variks.
However, there was a problem with Variks as a translator, according to Sarsion. He would not always translate literally, but occasionally he would interpret. Therefore, the user describes the work as a “very long, very difficult crossword puzzle,” in which he had to allow himself some freedom in the translation. His results are probably neither perfect nor 100% precise, but maybe there will be more Fallen translations in Destiny 2 that he can continue his work with.
Sarsion is not the first Guardian to deal with the Fallen language. But he is the only one who managed to decipher 87 words. This “dictionary” he has elaborately packed into a video, in which Variks teaches us the language:

Our author Leya has dived into the open beta of Hand of Gods and tested the new card game from Studio Hi-Rez. At DreamHack in Valencia, she met the community manager Kevin “Adanas” Meier. From him, she learned more about the development of the deck-builder game and plans for the future. The game board will play an increasingly important role.
The last time I played Hand of the Gods, it was still in the early closed beta and was called Smite Tactics. That was in March 2017. At that time, I wrote that I felt like I was on a chessboard. Positioning and the right order of moves were the keys to victory.
Now Hand of the Gods is in open beta and I have ventured back into turn-based combat with the gods. Even though the gameplay has changed in the meantime, my feeling from the chessboard has remained.

Hand of the Gods: Smite Tactics – Gameplay – Turn-based Deck Builder with Game Board
In Hand of the Gods, you take on the role of a god like Zeus or Ra. With the help of cards, you build an army of mystical monsters and other (minor) gods. With this army, you wage war against another god.
Your deck consists of lesser gods, mystical creatures, and soldiers. But spells can also be found among the cards. With these, you can shove enemy minions back into your opponent’s deck or give your creatures more life or attack points.
Currently, there are 5 god worlds in Hand of the Gods – Smite Tactics:
Greek
Egyptian
Roman
Nordic
Chinese
The realms all have different strengths and weaknesses against each other. In the future, more pantheons are to be added.
As a powerful god, you give commands to the forces from above. You place the figures on the game board and control them from there. The minions can move and attack a limited number of fields – similar to chess. They can often also use abilities like stuns or healing.
Here you see the radius in which my hyena can move. The radius differs among minions and can be blocked/expanded by cards or creatures.
The different gods have their own abilities that they use on the battlefield. For example, the Greek god Zeus gives additional life and attack to his minions, while the Egyptian Ra heals his creatures.
The cards and abilities cost mana, which you must allocate carefully.
The goal of the game is to destroy the Summoning Stones
Each of the two players has a “Summoning Stone”. The goal is to destroy the opponent’s stone. Whoever succeeds first wins the match. To destroy the Summoning Stones, your minions must attack them. Once the stone reaches 0 points, it breaks, and you have won the game.
To protect your own stone and destroy the opponent’s, you must constantly keep an eye on your positioning.
The gods stand left and right on platforms. From here, they give orders to their units. Whoever destroys the opponent’s “Summoning Stone” first wins the round.
Hand of the Gods is a deck builder that works similarly to Hearthstone – only that the “cards” do not just lie statically on the game board but come alive as figures.
The game board brings a new level of strategy into play, as the figures are placed across the field, like in chess. A wrong move with the minion can cost a god the game. If you are not careful and your minion stands on the wrong field, your opponent can simply walk by and finish off your stone.
Hand of the Gods – “The heart is definitely the game board”
At DreamHack Valencia in Spain, I spoke with the community manager of Hand of the Gods. His name is Kevin “Adanas” Meier, and his job is to gather and evaluate feedback from players.
Adanas referred to the game board as the heart of Hand of the Gods. At its core, the strategy game is a deck builder with cards. According to Adanas, the game board adds a new layer.
“In most card games, you only have the cards for attacking and defending. With Hand of the Gods, you can block a path with a body, or you can create specific formations with the servants. I believe our team is good at utilizing the game board.” – Community Manager Adanas

Adanas mentioned the goddess Bellona as an example. Her skills are tailored to the game board. She is the leader of the Roman army, and her cards mostly revolve around movement and formation. For example, some of Bellona’s units receive a buff when they stand directly next to each other. Other cards ensure that the opponent takes damage as soon as they move their units across the board. Skills like these add an extra twist of strategy to the card game.
The game board is expected to bring even more tactics in the future
This is precisely the direction Studio Hi-Rez wants to take with Hand of the Gods. The game board should be incorporated into every design decision, whether new god realms, creatures, or spells are added.

Adanas told me that the developers want to work even more intensively with the game board in the future.
The team is currently working on ideas such as invisible traps that the opponent can hide on the game board. Another possibility would be walls that can be thrown directly at your opponent’s feet.
Zeus is the leader of the Greek gods. That is why he has many cards with minor gods that he commands.
Hand of the Gods: The transformation from a piece of coal to a raw diamond
One played with the leader gods like cat and mouse. One god chased the other on the game board and tried to eliminate him. It quickly became tedious. Nevertheless, the game board was already the strongest component of this card game. It gave me the feeling of a mix of chess and cards.
Meanwhile, there are “Summoning Stones” that need to be destroyed instead of the gods. At first, I was concerned that Hand of the Gods would become more static as a result. The gods now stand at the edge of the board and give commands. The “Summoning Stones” are also fixed in place.
But quite the opposite happened: Hand of the Gods is much more dynamic than Smite Tactics ever was.
There are now more options for moving your units across the game board and fully utilizing the field. I no longer had to be afraid for my god, but rather just had to keep an eye on my stone.
With the stone, I can’t run away when it takes damage. This means I am forced to use my units more flexibly.
I played about 10 hours of Hand of the Gods in open beta. It is clear that this is still a beta. Here and there, there are hiccups, such as incorrectly displayed cards. So far, I have the impression that most cards are still quite standard, which could be disturbing for experienced deck-building players.
I additionally had several matches in which a snowball effect occurred. The one who managed to get the most creatures and minor gods on the board the fastest often won the match. However, I do not want to lean too far out of the window with this judgment. It could be that I am not deep enough into the game yet to recognize turn-around strategies.
I was pleased to hear from Adanas that the developers want to further enhance their core – the game board. The board, along with the theme of mystical creatures and gods, could become a strong unique selling point of Hand of the Gods.
Hand of the Gods has transformed from a mere piece of coal to a raw diamond. At first glance, it seems like just another card game. However, the game board brings an extra layer of strategy that will excite board game enthusiasts and strategists alike.
If the team can manage to integrate the game board even more and create new obstacles and tactics through it, Hand of the Gods will become a high-level strategy game.
