In Destiny 2 , Bungie is asking the Guardians what they most wish for in the first expansion.

Destiny 2 has been on the market for over a month now. Countless Guardians have already completed the story, explored the endgame, and brought their characters to the maximum power level.

Slowly, the eyes of fans and developers are turning to the first expansion, which is set to be released later this year. This will carry the title “Curse of Osiris” and is apparently supposed to include community wishes.

The wishlist for the first expansion is long

The Guardians can now send their suggestions and wishes for the first expansion directly to Bungie. The Game Director Christopher Barrett posed the question on Twitter about what players would like to see in it:

Since then, there have been thousands of responses to the tweet: Highly requested features include private matches and custom games, an observer mode, ranked matches, strike-specific loot, and above all, a more extensive endgame and meaningful loot. Some exotics are also expected to be buffed.

The hardcore players especially want more to do in the endgame. More loot that requires time and effort. Random rolls on gear that are delightful to hunt for. It has been lamented for a long time that the grind is missing. That there are no long-term goals to motivate players to log in daily in the upcoming weeks.

It is certain that “Curse of Osiris” will not be able to fulfill all wishes. But the past of Destiny 1 has shown that Bungie can draw the right conclusions from player feedback and set new directions. Bungie must now do this again with certain aspects of Destiny 2.

An initially inconspicuous paragraph in Bungie’s weekly update on Destiny 2 is the top topic among Guardians. What is going on?

Bungie announced on Friday the upcoming start of the first Iron Banner as well as the Prestige Raid – two important activities that the Guardians have been eagerly anticipating. Nevertheless, another topic is currently causing heated discussions in the reddit forum: An initially inconspicuous statement from Bungie’s community manager DeeJ.

“Friendship” instead of Endgame as motivation for players?

The reason is the following paragraph from the current “This Week at Bungie”:

My challenge to every Guardian is to look to the human element in Destiny 2 to fuel your appetite for ultimate replayability. The ultimate loot is the friendships that can grow out of a game like this. There will be more gear to add to your character (next week, even). The rewards that I’m talking about are the people in the community that thrives in this game. If you let them, they’ll make your hobby as a light-dealing hero on a starside campaign for glory even better.

Loosely translated, this means that the ultimate replay value of Destiny 2 is not defined by the activities but by the friendships one makes. The ultimate rewards are not always more gear (which will still be available), but the friendships that develop.

This statement from Deej is currently stirring up the Guardians on Reddit. Bungie is being accused of downplaying the lack of endgame content while instead highlighting the social component.

Even though making friends is a significant aspect of the gaming experience, it cannot disguise the fact that there is too little to do. “Friendgame instead of Endgame,” some Guardians comment sarcastically.

Deej has already explained the significance of his statement with a tweet. The community manager wanted to express gratitude towards the players through a small, personal anecdote, nothing more and nothing less. However, that went completely wrong.

In the meantime, there are increasing posts from users reassuring that receive thousands of upvotes. The criticism of DeeJ’s personal opinion has been blown out of proportion. The reddit forum has reacted far too toxically. And ultimately, DeeJ is not wrong – Destiny 2 is what the Guardians, what the players make of it with their friends.

Severe criticism of the Iron Banner – Generic uniformity?

But this poorly formulated passage is merely the tip of the iceberg. For the Iron Banner and the Prestige Raid are also heavily criticized. Specifically, for the Iron Banner, it is pointed out that there are no more loot quests and no 6v6, and the power level advantages are gone.

Even though the power level advantages didn’t play a significant role in Destiny 1, their removal in Destiny 2 represents a break with the lore that describes the Iron Banner as testing the light of the Guardians. That the light level (power level) now no longer matters is therefore surprising.

At its core, the Iron Banner mode in Destiny 2 is nothing but a quick play without conflict and dominance with other generic weapons and armor.

In the meantime, it is confirmed that there will be not only new Iron Banner armor but also new Iron Banner weapons. What they will look like is not yet known.

The Prestige Raid does not generate storms of enthusiasm

Bungie’s announcement of the Prestige Raid also caused discontent. For the new mode does not come with an increase in level cap, as was the case in Destiny 1. Since the Prestige armor sets are already known (which offer little new), many Guardians are now questioning why they should even play the Prestige mode.

Robert says: The situation is currently very confused. Bungie had already announced before the launch of Destiny 2 that they wanted to make the game more accessible for beginners. This has clearly been achieved. However, this comes with massive losses in the endgame grind that, especially hardcore players in Destiny 1, had kept engaged for a long time and has now been completely removed.

And it is these hardcore players who are now voicing their opinions about Bungie’s direction. They see “their” baby in danger and are loudly expressing their frustration. On Reddit, the largest platform for players of Destiny, the frustration over the direction Destiny 2 has taken runs deep.

The game is too diluted, lacking groundbreaking innovations or surprises, so much potential has been wasted. It will be interesting to see how Bungie will handle this criticism and which direction Destiny 2 will take with the upcoming DLCs.

In the MMO shooter Destiny 2, the Trials of the Nine begin today, on October 6th. Which map will be played, what is the mode?

Today, Friday, marks the start of the fourth Trials in the history of Destiny 2. You can use this to warm up for the first Iron Banner event in Destiny 2.

As soon as the Trials of the Nine conclude on October 10th at 11 AM, Lord Saladin will arrive in the Tower to gather the Guardians for the Iron Banner. In the coming days, the PvP fans among you will have plenty to do.

This week’s Trials of the Nine will be played in the Survival mode. They take place on the map The Death Cliffs.

What are the Trials of the Nine in the Survival mode?

This time you will be fighting in the Trials in the “Survival” mode. It’s a round-based PvP mode.

You compete in teams of four against each other, with all four players per team sharing a limited number of lives. If a Guardian on your team is defeated, it costs you one life. If you defeat an opposing Guardian, it costs the opponent one life. The defeated Guardian respawns automatically after a few seconds. Reviving by teammates is not possible.

If all lives are used up, you cannot respawn anymore. If the team that has no lives left is completely defeated, a round is over. Win multiple rounds to decide the match.

After each match, you will receive “Trials of the Nine” tokens, which you can redeem at the vendor for Trials engrams. Additionally, you will receive extra rewards for 3, 5, and 7 wins. If you achieve a flawless run (7 wins without a loss), you can claim an extra reward. If you have 3 losses on the ticket, you must start over.

In the Trials of the Nine, there is no matchmaking. You need to assemble your team of 4 players yourself. It is also a “locked-loadout playlist.” This means you cannot change your weapons and armor pieces until you leave the playlist.

In Destiny 2, the Wings of Vigilance is an exotic pulse rifle with extravagant design. Does it actually have value?

The Wings of Vigilance amazed guardians shortly after the launch of Destiny 2. When the first players received this weapon, some thought there must be an error: Because this exotic has a distinctive “Trials of Osiris” look and that this weapon could just drop felt suspicious to many. After all, the Trials had not yet started at that time.

By now we know: Yes, everything is correct. This weapon is not tied to the new Trials.

But – are the Wings of Vigilance worth it?

What makes Wings of Vigilance special in Destiny 2?

Behind the “Wings of Vigilance” is an exotic pulse rifle that deals kinetic damage. It has high range and stability and generally impresses with solid stats. The rate of fire is 530 and the magazine size is 50.

Here are the special perks:

• Hard Truths: This weapon fires a 5-round burst. If an ally nearby is killed, you gain health regeneration and increased movement speed.
• Last Stand: Improved weapon performance when the owner is the last living member of a fireteam. Handling, weapon readiness speed, and reload speed are increased as a result.

The additional perks result in:

• increased range, stability, and increased weapon readiness speed
• increased stability and increased weapon readiness speed
• increased reload speed when the magazine is empty.

With the 5 shots per burst, this weapon becomes a unique pulse rifle that does not forgive mistakes in PvP. Because if you miss a shot, you have to wait for the 5 shots to reload before you can shoot again. This makes the weapon feel clunky and it cannot shine in fast-paced fights.

If you position yourself cleverly, target important spots on the map, and sink all 5 shots into the enemy, the exotic is a monster. You can defend lanes excellently this way. The Wings of Vigilance are therefore more suited for a slow, careful playstyle from a safe distance.

The weapon can only reach its full potential when you are in a fireteam. If allies die or you are the last living member, you gain bonuses and might be able to turn the tide. You might gain the crucial advantage in Trials to win the round. But if four enemy guardians overwhelm you, better weapon performance doesn’t help you anymore.

A look at the Trials report shows that the Wings of Vigilance are among the top ten weapons that get the most kills in PvP. Next to the MIDA Multi-Tool, which still ranks first, the exotic pulse rifle is the second exotic that can hold its ground in the top ten. Otherwise, the best weapons in PvP are dominated by automatic rifles like Uriel’s Gift, Prosecutor, or the Origin Story.

In short: If you do not yet own the Wings of Vigilance, get it! It is not a must-have weapon that belongs in every guardian’s inventory, as there are better, non-exotic alternatives for the kinetic slot, but you can achieve some nice kills in PvP with the Wings of Vigilance. If you do not like a fast-paced and offensive playstyle in PvP, this exotic might be your weapon!
