The gift animation in Pokémon GO is now working as intended. Have you thrown any yet?
For the Christmas festivities in Pokémon GO, the developers introduced new features to sweeten the holidays for trainers. The Pokémon Botogel is new to the game and can use the gift attack, like the holiday Pikachu.
In the first few days, however, this attack did not work as the developers had planned.
Gift attack now corrected
Recently, the developers of Pokémon GO updated the game’s Gamemaster file with exactly one change. This change ensures that the attack animation of the gift attack is now displayed as intended.
This means that the Pokémon Botogel and the special holiday Pikachu can now visually throw gifts. It is currently unclear whether this change is permanent and if Pokémon with the gift attack will always throw presents, or if this animation will change again in the future and is just a highlight for the Christmas season.
How the attack now looks in the game due to the new visual is shown by Reddit user thelookofamazement with this screenshot of a Botogel fighting against Dragoran.
Scroll bug in the Pokémon overview annoys trainers
Unfortunately, the developers at Niantic have not yet fixed an annoying issue that is currently generating a lot of discussion in the community.
After sending, evolving, or renaming a Pokémon, the overview display jumps back to the top again.
Niantic has not yet been able to resolve this bug but is working on a solution. The support website states that the team is aware of the issue.
We’re aware of an issue where your Pokémon collection menu loses its scroll position and returns to the top of the screen when you evolve, transfer, or rename a Pokémon.
What is this? CCP Games is looking for a Lead Designer for a new MMORPG. What are the developers of EVE Online working on?
A “new, very ambitious” MMORPG project is currently being developed at CCP Games in London. They are looking for a Lead Designer to join a small but dedicated team.
A small team is set to create something big
According to CCP Games, the small team will be able to achieve great things through a lot of experience and effective tools. The Lead Designer will manage this group and oversee the development and implementation of the project. CCP Games is not revealing any further details yet, which has sparked speculation among fans.
This job listing from CCP makes MMORPG fans’ hearts race.
Could this be one of the two games currently under development? These include the online shooter Project Nova and a new mobile game with the working title Project Aurora.
Or is it a completely new game? The term “MMORPG” suggests that it is something new. Will this title also be set in the EVE universe? The World of Darkness MMO was discontinued some time ago and the license has been issued elsewhere. But a new brand could also be possible.
What do you think? What could the mysterious MMORPG from CCP Games be about?

Christmas has just passed and the next festivities are already on the horizon. New Year’s Eve means not only fireworks, sparkling wine, and fondue, but also a step into the new year; the transition to a new chapter. We want to know from you: What do you wish for the gaming year 2018?
Especially with MMOs, the transition to a new year is fluid: You just log back in and continue playing. But maybe you are waiting for a specific DLC? Are you looking forward to another social guild year or hoping that the gaming landscape changes a bit here and there?
Hoping for Better Times
Are you dissatisfied with the current situation and wish for a change in that regard? Be it loot boxes, bugs, or just your own bad luck? It’s possible that you are plagued by loot misfortune and are now waiting for better times.
A new DLC can promise improvement, at least a change, which in turn means transformation. Are you waiting for a very specific expansion or a new MMO altogether?
For me, the turn of the year is always a reason to watch the trailers of upcoming games again and stir up anticipation! Currently, this is especially true for Sea of Thieves.
Refining Your Own Style
Sometimes it’s yourself who stands in the way. Surely everyone has made resolutions for the coming year. In the gaming field, it can mean not getting so worked up anymore, helping teammates more often instead of insulting them, or simply playing more focused.
I myself often have to face this. I tend to rage quit – which simply shouldn’t happen. How relaxed would my gaming year be if I didn’t always act like an “Angry German Kid”? Very relaxed, I tell you!
What Do You Wish For?
Whether you hope for more from the games, from yourself, or from others for 2018, we would like to know! No matter how unrealistic your wishes for 2018 may be, a wish remains just a wish!
The story campaign of Destiny 2 leaves a big question open: Is the Speaker dead?
The Speaker is an old Warlock, whose story dates back to before the Last City. It is known that he helped build the city alongside Zavala, Shaxx, and Lord Saladin, which he defended as a Guardian for a long time.
He became the “Voice of the Traveler” and has since acted as a guide and leader of the Guardians. In the story of Destiny, he has already given some eloquent speeches in this role. This means that the Speaker is a powerful and influential character whom the Guardians look up to.
What happens to the Speaker in Destiny 2?
During the invasion of the Cabal Legion in Destiny 2, the Speaker is captured and taken hostage by Dominus Ghaul on his ship. Ghaul interrogates him about the Traveler and the Light and demands an answer to the question of how he can access the Light of the Guardians.
After the Guardians deactivate the Almighty, the Consul becomes angry and there is a confrontation with Ghaul. During this, the Consul opens the “Chains” that held the Speaker captive, causing him to fall to the ground. It is seen that the Speaker’s mask shatters and is subsequently trampled by the Consul. Here is the cutscene in full length:

This is the last time we see the Speaker. But what happened to him? His mask is destroyed, yes. Does this mean that the Speaker is dead?
In recent weeks and months, there have been numerous discussions about this question. Some users argue that one does not die from a fall of “half a meter.” It would be ridiculous if this were the end of the Speaker.
Furthermore, the old Hollywood rule applies: as long as it is not clearly stated that someone is dead, then no one is dead and the person could return at some point. And indeed – no one says in Destiny 2 that the Speaker is dead. However, there is a hint that he likely died on the Cabal ship.
That’s why the Speaker is dead
In the Tower of Destiny 2, there are some scannable objects. One of them is located on the way to the Bazaar. Do not jump down the stairs where the tree is; instead, go right down the hallway where you come to an open window. Here you can conduct a scan.
The Ghost tells you that they have replicated the Speaker’s private quarters. He still cannot believe that the Speaker no longer exists. He was not the first Speaker, and he cannot be the last, the Ghost says.
In English, it says: “he’s gone.” Some users write that “he’s gone” does not necessarily mean “he’s dead” – that is, he is dead. It could also just mean that he is in an unknown location.
However, this statement is a clear hint that the Speaker is dead.
In summary: The fate of the Speaker is not definitively known, but it can be assumed that he succumbed to the torture on the Cabal ship. The Speaker is likely dead.
To the question of who will be the “new Speaker,” there is no answer yet. Possible candidates could be Osiris or Saint-14 (the 14th Saint). However, Osiris prefers to hang out in the Infinite Forest, and apparently, Saint-14 is already dead.
According to a Red Dead Redemption 2 leak, the release is supposed to take place in June 2018. The date comes from a known source.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the next installment of Rockstar Games’ western game “Red Dead Redemption”. In October 2016, the developers first showed the trailer for “Red Dead Redemption 2”, which now has over 15 million views on YouTube.
After the release was already postponed, a Danish retailer now claims to know the exact date.
The online listing from Coolshop.dk shows that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release on June 8 (a Friday) 2018. The screenshot of the listing was shared by Reddit user wiredgoon with the western game community.
The reason many players are paying close attention to this screenshot lies in the past of the Danish shop.
In 2014, Coolshop revealed another leak that was almost spot on. At that time, it was about the release of the next-gen and PC versions of GTA 5 Online. Before anyone else (and before Rockstar’s official announcement), the Coolshop website listed November 14 (also a Friday) 2014 as the release date.
The official release of the next-gen version of GTA 5 was only four days later, on November 18 (a Tuesday).
Rockstar has already announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to release in Spring 2018. According to calendar calculations, that would be between March 20, 2018 and June 20, 2018. The developers postponed the release from Fall 2017 because Rockstar Games wants to publish a “finished” game.
There are several reasons against this release date
Keep in mind that all of this is just speculation and the date on the website could just as well be a placeholder. The mentioned online shop uses placeholders with release dates for some games.
There is still no official release date for Red Dead Redemption 2.
There are several reasons against the accuracy of this release date of June 8, 2018:
In the cache of the page, there are indications that the date December 31, 2017 was previously listed as the “release date for Red Dead Redemption 2”.
For the game Anthem, the release date is set for March 30, 2018. This is quite unlikely.
Release date withdrawn by the online shop
Update December 29, 2017 11:00 AM: The online shop has since changed the date to 2018, without specifying a more exact day.
Just a few days ago, a group in WoW mastered the Court of Stars on the difficulty Mythic+25, setting a new world record. The same group is now stepping it up – with the stone that didn’t want to cooperate last time.
“The Dungeon of the Watchers”+26 – last week’s limit, this week’s new record
Mythic+ dungeons are, alongside raids, the most important comparison for PvE players. Those who clear the hardest dungeons the fastest lead the rankings. A well-assembled group progresses better than others.
A group has been drawing attention on the leaderboards for some time now. Shakib, Jdotb, Daarkee, Mittbitt, and Marvink have set a new world record with the completion of “The Court of Stars”+25 less than 2 weeks ago.
This week, they are raising the bar even higher. With “The Dungeon of the Watchers”+26 within time, these five players are setting a new milestone this time. Ironically, this is exactly the stone that the group received after upgrading during the last record.

If you take a closer look at the top spots on the list, you will often see the same names there. The guys have likely been deliberately working towards this success. However, it is also noticeable that significantly more groups are reaching +24 or +25 this week – both on the US and EU realms
This week is good for Mythic+ players – new records are likely!
The success of the groups can be roughly attributed to two reasons:
Better gear
Since Antorus, the Burning Throne has been available for a few weeks now, significantly more players have their Tier-21 sets at least partially complete. As time goes on, artifact weapons and other gear continue to get stronger. Higher Mythic+ dungeons are simply becoming “easier” when you can still call it easy at this level…
Easier affixes
This week, the affixes of the Mythic+ dungeons are particularly pleasant:
Bloodied: Defeated enemies leave behind blood puddles that heal other enemies and damage players.
Volcanic: Volcanoes appear beneath ranged players at regular intervals. If they erupt nearby, they deal significant damage to the player.
Fortified: Normal enemies (“trash mobs”) have 20% more health and deal 30% more damage.
With this combination, most bosses cannot immediately kill players and fall quickly enough not to pose a blockade. Additionally, groups can pull enemies together since they do not buff each other or spread stacks of debuffs.
In general, Volcanic and Bloodied are perceived as some of the easiest affixes to handle. A bit of movement and good positioning of the tank is enough to withstand the dangers.
Benedict says: The fact that many groups are significantly making progress this week is no coincidence. It is likely that more records will be set this week that won’t be broken anytime soon.

Anime games don’t always have to be cute and cuddly? Not at all! Danganronpa presents itself as a rather dark detective game. Trapped in a cruel “school”, murders keep happening among the students. In a trial, the protagonist must find out who committed the murder. If he succeeds, he and all the innocent ones can continue to live – if he fails, only the murderer gets to survive, and all others face death. The “Absolute Despair Collection” includes the games “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc”, “Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair”, and “Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls” for currently €38.45 – so 45% cheaper than the usual price of €67.97. For those who enjoy a bit of macabre but incredibly exciting detective entertainment in anime style, this is a must!

It awaits an exciting JRPG with an action-packed combat system, a dramatic story, and a protagonist who doesn’t conform to the typical clichéd image of a heroine. If you want to lose yourself in a great fantasy world while always yearning for the next cutscene that could rival many a “real” anime, you should grab this now. We repeatedly feature representatives from the “Final Fantasy” series in our game presentations, including those from the “anime” genre. While the game does not directly have an “anime” look, the character design and the story remind many players of their favorite anime series. Therefore, we recommend Final Fantasy X and its direct sequel Final Fantasy X-2, which seamlessly continues the story. FFX was the first Final Fantasy for the PS2 and may have caused poor grades for some students who spent night after night immersed in the exciting world of Spira or trying their hand at blitzball. Currently, both games are available in a bundle for €12.49 instead of the usual €24.99.

In Destiny 2, you must complete various tasks for the daily Dawning gifts. Here are tips and tricks on how to farm resources like Alchemical Spore and Dawnlight Crystals quickly or defeat certain enemies like the Fanatics fast.
Since the launch of the Winter event “The Dawning”, you can pick up new gift fragments daily from Ikora Rey. For each fragment, you must fulfill two tasks which consist of collecting specific resources (or Engrams) and defeating certain enemies.
Once you’ve completed a fragment, you take the gift to one of the NPC vendors, who will then give you a reward for it. The reward includes some of the new Dawning items, such as the exclusive Dawning sword Zephyr.
While some tasks can be done quickly and “on the side”, like killing 50 enemies on Nessus, other tasks take significantly longer and require repetitive, targeted farming. How can you complete these annoying tasks faster?
Trick for Alchemical Spore and Dawnlight Crystals
For most gift fragments, you need to collect standard resources like Data Mesh, Alchemical Dust, or Dawnlight Fragments (here is a farming method for that). Ideally, get a Ghost that shows you the planetary resources. It should take just a few minutes to collect the resources.
However, for the Hawthorne gift and the Failsafe gift, you need rare resources, namely 3 Alchemical Spores and 3 Dawnlight Crystals. You will receive these as well by farming the standard resources, but only with a low probability. It’s estimated to be around 1:15. This means you’ll need to collect an average of 45 Alchemical Dust to get the needed 3 Alchemical Spores.
With this trick, you can speed things up significantly: Only collect one Alchemical Spore or one Dawnlight Crystal at a time. Once you have the resource, place it in your vault. Pick it up again. Repeat this, and the task will be considered complete.
It counts as “collected once” when you pick up the Alchemical Spore or Dawnlight Crystal from the vault. Just open your character screen at the vault and then the inventory, and you can store items instead of dismantling them. This trick doesn’t work with standard resources, only with the rare resources.
Where can I find many Fanatics, Witches, Servitors, or Minotaurs?
Here you can find specific enemies frequently:
Fanatics are the exploding Vex enemies: on Nessus during certain public events where you must defend the platforms against Vex, many of them spawn. Or go from “The Rift” to “The Infinite Forest” on Io. You will also find Fanatics there (see the video from minute 4)
Witches: On Titan in the Siren’s Watch (near the spawn point in a cave) or in the Solarium. Also, in the “Savathun’s Song” strike, there are plenty of Witches.
Minotaurs: You can find them on Io (in front of the Pyramidion entrance), on Nessus, and on Mercury. If you go to the artifact room on Nessus, a group of Vex frequently spawns near a Minotaur. Or play the same event on Nessus where there are also Fanatics.
Servitors: You can find many Servitors fastest in “Ether Supply” events in the EDZ (or on other planets, like on Nessus at Exodus Black)
Venero TV shows you in the video the locations of certain enemies:

Once the “Winter Wonderland” event in Overwatch is over, all players will receive two special victory poses for free. The “Toast” victory pose from Sombra and Bastion will be automatically unlocked.
Winter Wonderland is a recurring seasonal event in Overwatch, where players can earn special skins, victory poses, and other cosmetic items. These typically have a winter theme for the winter event.
All players will receive two poses for free after completing this year’s event. These are the “Toast” pose for Sombra and Bastion. The poses are already available on the Overwatch test server. The winning poses show how the two characters toast with a hot drink.
No matter who participated in the event – in January 2018, every player will receive the poses
Originally, these emotes were not supposed to be part of the “Winter Wonderland” event. However, some players saw these poses as advertising for the event. This led to the impression that the winning poses were also part of the event. There was a lot of confusion as to why these victory poses for Sombra and Bastion suddenly did not appear.
As compensation, all players will receive the two “missing” poses for free in January 2018, regardless of whether they participated in the event or not.
Currently, the community of Elite: Dangerous is discussing a crazy rescue operation by the Fuel Rats just before Christmas, which went beyond the boundaries of the universe.
In Elite Dangerous, there is a group of players who call themselves “Fuel Rats”. They have taken on the task of fulfilling the role of an intergalactic automobile club. Whenever a pilot gets stranded somewhere in the galaxy without fuel, they can hire the “Fuel Rats” and they do their best to rescue him.
A pilot, Cmdr. Perersa, has now pushed the limits of the Fuel Rats’ willingness to help.
Bring this coffee cup to the edge of the universe and throw it out
Persera is a kind of passionate explorer who encounters difficulties during her discoveries. She came up with the idea of taking a tremendously long trip after she accepted a mission at Hutton Orbital Station to bring a coffee cup beyond the edge of the universe. These “Hutton coffee cups” are only available at the station and they become more valuable the further they are sold from the station.
In the shop, Persera found an advertisement with the mission to take a Hutton coffee cup as far beyond Beagle Point as possible and then throw it out of the spaceship. Beagle Point is somewhat of a “last outpost of the galaxy” and extremely far away.
When Persera finally reached Beagle Point, the idea arose to break the absolute record and fly beyond the boundaries of the galaxy. Out there, hyperspace jumps can no longer be used.
For that, Persera calculated how far she could go from the last outpost and still be able to return. Then she turned off all the modules on her Anaconda-class ship and essentially flew manually for 48 hours in one direction. 48 hours in real-time.
However, the calculations were faulty and ultimately, Persera was stranded in nothingness, with no way to turn back. As the US site Polygon reports, the only option left was to activate self-destruction – but that would have nullified the distance record and the progress.
Military maneuver from the Falklands War served as a model
In a call for help in the forum, Persera reached out to the Fuel Rats. In her now widely noticed thread in the forum, this was discussed.
They then discussed the options. The strategy was likely: several pilots had to set off simultaneously; then individual pilots would have to transfer their fuel to a selected pilot and return with the rest, so that one pilot would have enough fuel to reach Persera and bring her home.
The action was modeled after a military maneuver from the Falklands War in 1982 – Operation Blackbuck. Back then, the British Air Force made extreme efforts to bomb a target nearly 7000 kilometers away from an island. The attack aircraft had to cover over 13,000 kilometers and be refueled in flight.
The Fuel Rats made it clear: This is not without its risks. Some of us, or even all, could also end up stranded without fuel. And most importantly, it would be a long and arduous task.
But… they went through with it anyway. A live stream broadcasted the 48-hour rescue attempt. And indeed, on December 23, the Fuel Rats managed to reach Persera and transfer enough fuel for her to refuel her ship and then complete the mission for the Hutton Station before she could fly back home after a long journey.
Roleplay even when it really hurts
Mein MMO says: The interesting aspect is certainly the roleplay aspect here and how seriously the people take it. It’s one thing to roleplay when it works effortlessly. And another to spend so many hours and so much energy helping a stranger’s crazy expedition plans remain without negative consequences. Respect!
In the forum thread on the topic, one can also see how much joy and excitement the players have regarding this aspect of Elite: Dangerous and that an interesting community has come together where people respect the effort made to help one of them out of trouble.
Otherwise, in Elite: Dangerous, you mainly fight aliens:
How was the demo of Monster Hunter World (PS4, Xbox, PC) received by the beta testers? Our author Leya took a look and captured the players’ voices.
The second exclusive PS4 beta of Monster Hunter World is over and the global release in January 2018 is just around the corner. We looked around in different portals for Monster Hunter World and gathered opinions about the beta.
In the “Monster Hunter” Reddit and also on our site Mein-MMO, the demo received a lot of praise, especially the monster battles were well received. However, there were also points that players found disturbing or unclear. Among them was the quest timer.
Response to the “Monster Hunter World” Beta summarized
The following lists what was received well or poorly by the beta testers and what was unclear for some players. Sometimes the opinions of veterans and players who played a “Monster Hunter” title for the first time with World differed greatly.
What The Beta Testers Liked:
The Monster Battles: Those who face a large monster in Monster Hunter World will quickly feel reminded of an MMORPG boss fight. The creatures have phases and certain attack patterns that need to be learned. The monsters were well received by most players and offered plenty of variety. Our reader Zaiba: “Just the countless raptors promise some early bosses.”
The Maps and Environment: The environment was well received especially because Monster Hunter World offers a quite “realistic” flora and fauna. Players particularly enjoyed the small, loving details hidden in the maps. Our reader Mormegril90: “I also found it fun and cool that you can kick a dung beetle that is rolling its ball, and then pick up the ball as a dung bomb.”
The Weapons: In the beta, players could test all 14 weapon classes in Monster Hunter World. These were well received by both veterans and new players. Some veterans noticed that many weapons, like the hammer, received new attack combinations and move sets in World. Newcomers simply enjoyed experimenting with the various melee and ranged weapons.
Palicos: The cat companions were probably a real highlight for most people. Our reader John Wayne Cleaver: “The graphics are on point and the Palicos are super cute. You go into a lake and the little cat helper gets a raft. ” They lighten the mood while playing and have some practical tricks up their sleeves. Sometimes the Palicos bond with small monsters that then fight for them. Palicos are simply the secret stars in Monster Hunter World.
What Beta Testers Disliked:
Slow Movements and Strange Controls: This point especially annoyed players who were playing a “Monster Hunter” title for the first time with World. Veterans have long gotten used to the sluggishness and controls, and for them, it is simply part of it. Newcomers often had difficulties hitting the monsters with the huge and slow weapons. Some found this particularly strange since modern titles usually have extremely agile movements. Our reader BigFreeze25: “The characters sometimes seem a bit sluggish to me, but maybe that’s because I’m currently playing Horizon…Aloy is indeed much more agile.”
The beta was too easy: Here, it was especially the veterans who found the Monster Hunter World demo to be too easy and “casual.” But some newcomers also found it too easy to take down the monsters. However, it is to be noted that the demo only showcased a small excerpt and each player already walked around with “late game” equipment.
The following points were unclear to many players and often came up as questions.
Is There Always a Timer? In the beta, there was a time limit of 20 minutes to successfully complete quests. Many wondered if there was a timer only because it was a demo version of the game. There will be a timer in the full version of Monster Hunter World. This has always been the case in every part of the franchise. Only the time limit in the full version will be 50 minutes per quest. There will also be a function to freely explore the maps and check out every corner without a timer.
Is Monster Hunter World now Open World or not? Capcom advertised that there would be open-world maps in Monster Hunter World. However, one should not imagine an open world like in a sandbox game. The maps have limitations but are much more extensive than in its predecessors. There will now be seamless transitions, which means that the map sections are NO longer separated by a loading screen. This represents a huge change for veterans that brings about an open-world feel. New players may perceive this as normal.
Are there only the 14 weapons from the beta? The weapons are more like weapon classes. Various variations can be crafted from these when the corresponding resources are farmed. These can be body parts from monsters or ore.
The points mentioned above are an excerpt of the critiques that Monster Hunter World received during and after the beta. These are the remarks that I frequently encountered in various communities.
On January 5, 2018, the last live stream for Monster Hunter World will take place
By the way, on January 5, 2018, the last live stream for Monster Hunter World will take place. The stream starts at11:30 AM German time and can be seen on YouTube. The producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kaname Fujioka will be present as hosts.
Capcom has used these streams in recent weeks to spread new information about Monster Hunter World and showcase new gameplay. It may be that we receive new information about Monster Hunter World one last time before the release in late January.
We conducted an exclusive interview with Tsujimoto and Fujioka, resulting in the following articles:
Many players collect them, but very few can actually use them in Fortnite: Battle Royale – traps. When placed skillfully, they become deathtraps for unsuspecting players. One player took it to the next level with a self-built house, complete with traps and lure tactics!
With traps, you can do some crazy things in Fortnite’s fun Battle Royale mode. Often, a trap is set that leads to success minutes later (when you have long forgotten about it).
Traps are preferably placed in houses, garages, or small sheds. If someone has too many weapons or a rare item, they can even set a bait. The following video shows that you don’t even need a weapon to take out an opponent:
Especially creative was the player in the following video. First, a stone house was built by hand, then the player laid out a “breadcrumb” trail of weapons, ammunition, and resources in a Hansel and Gretel manner – leading straight to the self-built hut.
In the hut is – you guessed it – a trap. Hard to believe, but a player actually falls for this (rather obvious) trick. But see for yourself:

All these videos show that you can indeed survive dangerous situations with traps. Especially in the endgame, a well-placed trap in a self-built fort can decide between victory and defeat.
So if you stumble upon a few traps on your way through the storm, definitely take them with you. Who knows what poor victim can be lured with them.

The Void Elves in World of Warcraft are getting new textures, as they were obviously way too sexy.
In Battle for Azeroth, World of Warcraft will receive a total of six new playable races. These “Allied Races” will join either the Horde or the Alliance after a questline and will then be available as fresh species to play.
One of these races will be the Void Elves. Originally, they are Blood Elves who tried to quench their magical thirst with the power of the Void. However, after some incidents, this was only greeted with a “so-so” response by the Blood Elf government, leading to their banishment from the Horde. Alleria Windrunner then leads the Void Elves (also known as “Ren’dorei”) to the Alliance and grants them a new place to live.
The old texture with a lot of muscles.
Void Elves resembled bodybuilders
In the first version of the Void Elves, they looked quite muscular. Even the six-pack on their stomach had another six-pack, giving the impression that the Void Elves were not playing with dark magic of the Old Gods, but rather munching on steroids all day to impress the ladies of the Alliance in the next beach season.
The textures of the Void Elves have now been revised on the PTR of Patch 7.3.5, significantly reducing their musculature. While the gentlemen are still clearly more trained than their Blood Elf counterparts from the Horde, they no longer give off a bodybuilder impression.
The new texture, significantly weakened.
The community’s reactions have been mixed so far. Many liked the muscular Elves, while others find so much physical power in characters that are essentially involved in magic (even if they can become warriors) simply exaggerated.
Which of the two textures did you like better? Or do you not really care in the end since your Void Elf always wears armor anyway?
They exist in every game: players who are just annoying because they exhibit highly unpleasant traits. But which type of problem player irritates you the most?
Surely each of you has dealt with one or another problem player. These are the dear teammates who simply stand out unpleasantly. Be it greedy ninja looters, choleric rage quitters, or lazy casual gamers who still want to participate in the raid. But not everyone gets annoyed by the same misconduct.
We wanted to know from you, which annoying gamer type irritates you the most. Over 1100 readers voted in this poll. We have now evaluated this survey and found a clear result: In first place with 26% is the wannabe pro, followed by the rage quitter with 18% and the diva with 15% in second and third place.
wannabe pro: 26%
rage quitter: 18%
diva: 15%
casual raider: 13%
player killer: 9%
loot ninja: 8%
afk joker: 8%
clumsy: 3%
Place 1: “We need progress!” – The wannabe pro
The wannabe pro is the opposite of the casual raider. While the casual raider is a slacker who wants maximum success with minimal effort, the wannabe pro is an overachiever. He is full of ambition and wants to be at the top of endgame content. However, he is still too weak for a real pro guild. And the fact that his own guild mainly consists of casual players is also not entirely clear to him.
“They want to, you just have to force them to their happiness” is his motto. Therefore, he relentlessly drives his teammates and forces them to prepare for hardcore raids. This leads to days of wipe orgies at bosses for which a large part of the guild simply is not good enough. In the end, everyone is frustrated and no one is having fun.
Place 2: Oh boy, when he is unleashed! – The rage quitter
Rage quitters are usually nice people that you can get along well with. Unfortunately, they are easily offended cholerics with a low tolerance for frustration. Therefore, often minor issues are enough to send them into a blind rage.
If the boss isn’t down on the fifth attempt and the raid leader possibly criticizes the players, the rage quitter immediately feels attacked and freaks out. Usually a flood of angry insults follows, and in the end, the person simply goes offline and leaves the group in the lurch. Very annoying!
Place 3: “My way or no way!” – The diva
Everything must dance to the diva’s tune! She is demanding and requires that her wishes be respected. The other players serve her as helpers and they must accept her whims and dislikes. Additionally, she must always be the center of attention. Divas are usually masters of manipulation.
They often have willing henchmen in the guild who not only tolerate their behavior but sometimes even demand and defend it. Particularly persistent divas often lead to disputes and unrest in the guild, which frequently results in its breakup.
Place 4: “You guys really make a science out of this …” – The casual raider
Raids and high-end instances are a tough challenge in many MMOs. Therefore, only players who master their class well and know what to do should be in raid teams. But often there’s a player who just doesn’t want to invest any energy into the game but still has to be there.
Usually, it depends solely on him that the team keeps dying in the same boss phase for the umpteenth time. But no matter how many times you explain it to him, the casual raider simply doesn’t want to understand. He is just too lazy to properly engage with the game and relies on his teammates to compensate for his shortcomings.
Place 5: Sneaky saboteur – The player killer
This player type is the terror of all shooters with friendly fire! Because the player killer does not want to win or support his team. Rather, he is a particularly malicious troll who simply enjoys taking out his teammates. Since teammates usually do not expect such treacherous attacks, he has an easy time and can harvest bloody rewards.
Player killers usually operate cleverly and excuse themselves in the end by claiming that the grenade they just threw accidentally bounced off the door and shouldn’t have hit the players in the room. Another form of the player killer is the sneaky ganker who prefers to ambush other players in MMORPGs with open PvP and attacks them when they are distracted. While this is technically allowed, it is extremely annoying and unfair!
Place 6: All mine! – The loot ninja
This player type mainly appears in online role-playing games after tough boss fights. He rolls like a greedy raccoon on “need” for EVERY loot item. Even if he has absolutely no use for a legendary, soulbound plate armor meant for a warrior as a rogue.
He just wants everything and feels completely justified. After all, he participated in the raid, so he is entitled to the loot! If one confronts these fellows about their behavior, they often piously claim to have clicked “need” “by accident” …
Place 7: Oops, did it start already? – The afk joker
The afk joker is a player type who never lets anyone know when he is not at the keyboard. He just walks away, grabs a beer, goes casually to the bathroom, or cuddles with the cat while his team is brutally slaughtered and eaten by a boss.
He usually comes back just when the last player-hero is about to lose his virtual life and then comments in the chat, “Oops, what happened? I was just afk. Did you attack already?” In such a moment, one often wishes to reach through the screen and give the joker a piece of their mind!
Place 8: “Oops, that went wrong …” – The clumsy
This player type is a tragic figure. Because actually, everyone likes him. He is a nice guy, and you usually have fun with him. At least in chat. However, when the game starts, he eventually drives his team to despair because he acts like a complete idiot! Sometimes he accidentally (really) throws a grenade in a room full of teammates, then he is the only one in the raid who forgot to buy an important buff item beforehand.
However, he only realizes this after countless wipes! In MOBAs and shooters, he likes to appear as a “kill feeder”. By his poor play, he unnecessarily gives the enemy bonus points because he keeps getting shot down. A special form of this type is the “troll clumsy”. This is a troll who only pretends to be clumsy. He does it intentionally because he enjoys watching the world burn!

With the second DLC of Destiny 2, more and more leaks are surfacing. Now the features and release window of Gods of Mars are said to be known.
Official information about the second expansion of Destiny 2 is still scarce. We know that the DLC is supposed to be released in Spring 2018, and we have this graphic about the DLC, which likely references Ana Bray and the Warminds: That’s all Bungie has provided us regarding the second DLC so far.
However, several leaks appeared in the days before and after Christmas, claiming to reveal information about the second DLC:
One leak mentioned that the expansion is said to be called “Heralds of Nezarec” and would take us to the ice moon Enceladus, telling an extensive story around Ana Bray, Nezarek, and two new enemy races. This leak sounded too good to be true.
And just a few hours ago, the next leak was released, confirming the “Gods of Mars” leak and adding numerous details.
New Information on Gods of Mars – Leak
The leak comes from the PlayStation Store, which reportedly briefly showed the features and the release window of Gods of Mars after an update. Initially, screenshots from the Japanese store appeared, but there were doubts about them due to rough translations. Shortly afterward, screenshots from the American store with the same information surfaced online.
It is suspected that the rough Japanese translation was merely a placeholder until the store page gets correctly translated. However, the circumstances of how the screenshots even surfaced are generally not very clear. Enjoy the following information with a healthy dose of caution. Here is the screenshot from the American PSN store:
This screenshot confirms the DLC name “Gods of Mars”
The release window is indicated as March 2018. There is a discrepancy here, as the Japanese store stated May 2018.
These are the features:
Explore the Frigid Vale, a new location on Mars that holds the mysterious Clovis Grave and the Chamber of Charlemagne beneath its surface.
New story missions and adventures
New thematic weapons, armor pieces, and gear
New cooperative activities
New competitive multiplayer arenas
New enemy faction and bosses
Regarding the story, it is said that the Warmind Charlemagne has reawakened on Mars. He has imprisoned Rasputin in an ancient chamber. Now you must collaborate with Ana Bray, a Guardian thought to be dead, to fight Charlemagne’s “Remnants”, free Rasputin, and uncover the secrets of Clovis Bray.
In the Japanese store, there is mention not only of a “new enemy faction” but also of a “Frame & Nanite” faction. Charlemagne is said to deploy an army of SIVA-enhanced Frames.
In Destiny, Frames refer to the robots that appear in the social spaces. For example, Darbi 55-30 on the Farm or Benedict 99-40 in the Tower. It is possible that in the second DLC, you will fight against robots enhanced with SIVA.
Keep in mind that all this information is not official. They seem plausible; however, they could also be fake screenshots.
What is the current status of the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PlayStation 4 and when can players expect the official release on Xbox One? Is there already a release date for PUBG PS4?
The Korean magazine Inven conducted an interview with the head of PUBG Corporation, Chang Han Kim. There were current updates regarding the port to PlayStation 4 and the full release on Xbox One.
While PUBG is currently “fully released” on PC, it is still in a game preview version on Xbox One, meaning it is in early access. When it comes to the “PlayStation 4,” PUBG has thus far been evasive with a concrete statement. There has been back and forth on this matter in the past. Recently, it was heard that Microsoft aims to keep PUBG away from the PS4 in the long term.
PUBG on PS4? First, the Xbox One version needs to be ready
Regarding the status of the PS4 version, Kim stated:
We will be an exclusive title for Xbox One for some time. During this phase, we will focus on completing PUBG for Xbox One. If we get the opportunity, we want to ultimately bring PUBG to all platforms.
Early access on Steam and game previews on Xbox One are pre-releases, meaning there are no quality requirements. This is different for PlayStation. In some cases, games needed six months longer to release there, even though they were already finished.
Currently, we are in a phase where we still need to learn how to develop in a console environment and what console players like. We can only think about other platforms once we finish the Xbox One version and have properly assessed it.
When is the official release for Xbox One?
Regarding when the Xbox One version will be officially released, Kim said:
It’s hard to envision a precise plan, which is why we started in early access on Steam. At the beginning of the year, we promised to release the game by the end of 2017 and could only keep that promise by sacrificing our vacation.
The development team is working very hard to resolve the current “market” issue on Xbox One. After that, they want to create a stable 1.0 version for PUBG.
PUBG is currently looking to increase the development team to 300 people, currently they are about 200 – of which 160 are at the headquarters in Korea. Kim identifies finding “engineers” as the biggest challenge. Engineers are the rarest and most sought after workforce in the IT market – that is even the case in Silicon Valley. They are expensive and hard to find. There are always too few of them.
In the long run, Kim wants to develop PUBG into a general media brand: They want to participate in eSports, movies, TV series, cartoons, animated films, and more. Currently, they have received some very nice messages from Hollywood and Netflix.
The dream of PUBG is to establish a new gameplay-based culture and take the lead there.
Mein MMO states: Apparently, PUBG is so bound by the exclusivity deal with Microsoft that they are simply not allowed to discuss the PS4 port. Not even now. However, the vague hints make it clear that they certainly want to go there.
Rocket League is one of the most successful online games currently. According to the developers, over 38 million players have tried the title and more than two billion matches have been played. To continue the success in 2018, Psyonix announced several improvements for the new year.
Considering that there were still 30 million in April, 8 million new players in just a few months is a significant number. The developer describes 2017 as the strongest year for Rocket League so far, after it was released in 2015. A contributing factor to the success in the second half of the year is the release on the Nintendo Switch. Rocket League has been occupying the top spot in the download charts on the Nintendo shop for weeks.
It’s clear that with such a large number of players, many fans are looking forward to the upcoming year 2018, as it will bring several updates. The team has shared a bit about what those will be as the year comes to a close.
Rocket League in 2018: Better Server Performance and More
Among the most important improvements is enhanced server performance. This should help Rocket League run even better. The client will display more information about the connection in the future: This includes things like packet loss and latency variance. This is meant to ensure that developers can find and fix issues faster. Additionally, they are focusing on the following areas:
Improved matchmaking system – they also want to optimize the server locations.
E-sports will be expanded in the coming year. This includes optimizations for in-game tournaments, for which a beta test is planned for early 2018.
Further improvements are also planned for the progress system. Experience points should help you earn banners and titles.
The cross-platform play between different systems is also an area that developers want to focus on more in the future. A successful test took place last autumn.
There is certainly a lot for Rocket League fans to look forward to in the coming year.
This is Rocket League
If you haven’t tried the fast-paced online game yet, now is a good opportunity. During the Steam Winter Sale, you can currently get the game for just about 12 euros (link opens Steam).
Then you’ll dive into fast matches where you try to shoot a ball into the opponent’s goal with your car. However, this is significantly more difficult than it sounds. Rocket League can be played in the modes 1vs1, 2vs2, 3vs3, or 4vs4. The team that scores the most goals wins. A match usually lasts five minutes, plus any additional time in case of a tie.
In matches, it’s important not only to play as a team but also to manage your car, which is equipped with a rocket boost. You can customize it over time in areas such as body, paint, wheels, antenna, roof accessories, rocket trail, tire trail, decals, goal explosion, and engine sound. Points are awarded not just for scoring a goal but also for:
the first ball contact after a kick-off
the way you score a goal (backwards, in stoppage time, etc.)
a pass into the opponent’s penalty area
a goal assist that leads to success
the defense of the ball before the goal
a won match
and several other things
With the points collected, you level up, leading to matchups against different opponents and climbing the rankings. It is important, similar to football, to always maintain an overview and keep control of your car, to play excellently as a team, and to devise a good strategy.
An interesting game element of Rocket League is that the driving physics of the cars and the physics of the ball do not reflect reality. It is possible to drive briefly along the ceiling of the arena, perform long jumps, or drive super-fast with a turbo boost.
Rocket League is a fun and fast-paced game, which, according to Steamcharts, boasts an average of over 34,000 concurrent players on Steam. Here, players from the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch versions are not even included.

In The Division, a secret mission was introduced with update 1.8. The solution and a step-by-step guide can be found here in English.
Shortly after the launch of 1.8, agents discovered a mysterious commendation named z3#A $85tErESc 23slomiNS610. You can find it in the dossier under commendations and “operations”, where it is listed as the penultimate operation achievement. The objective of this mission is unknown. The community eagerly came together to solve the mystery – and they succeeded.
How to master the secret mission and what the rewards are will be revealed in this guide.
z3#A $85tErESc 23slomiNS610 – Solving the riddle
You need to meet these requirements to start the riddle:
You must master wave 15 in each resistance area (Carrier, Pier 93, Power Plant). After reaching wave 16 in each area, you can pick up SHD transmission 1 at Camp Clinton. Open the dossier, go to “Evidence”, and there you will see the SHD transmission 1 in the surveillance data, which you will fulfill here.
Now, you need to collect all phone recordings in the West Side Pier. This is quite easy and gives you a decent XP boost, as each phone provides 110k experience. Once you have collected them all, SHD transmission 2 will be available at Camp Clinton. You will also see this achievement in the dossier next to SHD transmission 1.
You need a squad of three players to solve the riddle. With four players, it becomes easier. Only one of the four players needs to have fulfilled SHD transmission 1 and 2.
Step 1 – The first three coordinates
The SHD transmissions contain coordinates hidden in Morse code. These will lead you to three areas where white crosses are located on the ground. You can interact with these crosses. However, this must happen quickly and in the correct order.
With these short video guides, you can find the crosses on the ground:

Send an agent to each cross, and as soon as you stand in front of it, activate them in the order of Pier, Disco, Garage. If successful, ISAC will say “Energy activated”. Now, proceed to the second step.
Step 2 – The next three coordinates
Proceed exactly as in step 1, but with different coordinates.
Car Wash X:

Interact with the crosses in the order of Car Wash, Cera Rooftop, and Barrels. You will receive another prompt indicating that you have successfully completed this step. Furthermore, the doors to a secret room are now open.
Step 3 – The secret room
You can find the location of the secret room in this short video guide; keep an eye out for the burning bus in the game:

If you are playing with three agents, the agent at Cera Rooftop should immediately head to the secret room after activation, as it is closest to them. You have only a short time to open the room. If you are too slow, you will need to repeat step 2.
So it is best to recruit a fourth player who can position himself directly in front of the secret room and can open the doors immediately.
Once the doors are open, the other agents can fast travel to the agent in the secret room, interact with the laptop there, and grab the rewards.
The mission rewards
In the secret room, you will receive:
an exotic container
a container with secret gear set parts
Cipher key
and a West Side Pier weapon container. It contains the 5 weapons from the otherwise paid Frontline Pack add-on:
