The Internet is full of so-called “Ships” (From English “relationship”): These are beloved pairings of fictional characters celebrated with fan arts, fan fictions, and more. No fandom is safe – not even that of Overwatch. Google has now released the most popular Ships based on search queries.
Fans love their Ships! Especially when the pairings do not exist in the canon of the fandom. It is a release for the wishes of fans, who often hope for same-sex couples.
The Top 5 Ships – according to Google
Via Twitter, Google has now created a small animated graphic that visualizes the search queries for the Top 5 “Ships” over the past 12 months. One pairing remains dominant.
One factor is certainly that McCree and Hanzo have different characters: while one is a rough, charming cowboy, the other appears noble and principled.
Furthermore, both look good – both individually and together – and thus embody an ideal. Not least, the stories surrounding the two – especially during the brawl “Junkenstein’s Revenge” – must have provided plenty of nourishment.
The imagination knows no bounds, and it is wonderful when fans can express themselves creatively and dream.
Did you expect these top pairings, or would you have seen another in the upper ranks?
Ships also dominate on Tumblr regarding overwatch:
Some Destiny 2 players are upset about the cash shop. For others, it is not the problem. But what would Destiny 2 look like with the cash shop as it was intended in Destiny 1?
The accusation is: Many items linked to the cash shop actually belong directly in the game. They could be distributed differently, giving Guardians more to do, providing them with additional objectives in Destiny 2. Currently, the items are unnecessarily locked away.
Others do not see the problem and say: Destiny 2 has much bigger concerns. The cash shop does not bother anyone.
For many, the problem is not tangible. They say: “I buy nothing in the cash shop, I don’t care. I do not understand the constant criticism of Eververse at all.”
But what would it mean if Bungie really toned down the cash shop to the extent that fans wish.
What if …?
What if Bungie took such a radical step – like Electronic Arts did with Star Wars Battlefront 2?
The website Forbes has discussed how a Destiny 2 with a trimmed-down cash shop would look, in an article that is currently being discussed in the community. In the article, they scaled back the Destiny 2 cash shop to the dimensions of Destiny 1, back to the day Bungie introduced Eververse into the game.
It shows: There is a whole lot of items free that could then be redistributed.
Destiny 2 with the cash shop from Destiny 1
This is what happens in this alternative version of the story with the various items:
Ships like the exotic “Saint 14’s Gray Pigeon” should not end up in Eververse, but be the reward for quests such as the one for Saint 14. Some ships should be given to quests by Bungie, while others could be allocated by Amanda Holiday.
Sparrows could be added to the regular loot pool – others maybe linked to the SRL if the Racing League returns. Exotic Sparrows could be tied to quests or side quests.
Ghost shells – these should be tied to the planets for which they grant a bonus. Guardians should find them in chests or the Lost Sectors of a planet.
Armor sets: These would also be removed from the cash shop. One of the 2 cash shop sets would be awarded gradually for completed strikes, adventures, and public events. The other serves as a reward for Crucible matches. The “The Dawning” armor set could be directly linked to activities of the event – allowing players to complete Snowball Strikes or Witch’s Brew matches.
Weapons and armor ornaments: These could be tied to the exotic items they belong to. Kill 200 Cabal with headshots using weapon X and you receive the corresponding ornament for that weapon. This way, each exotic item would have its own Exotic Quest.
Shaders – should return to the Destiny 1 state and be usable indefinitely. Ordinary shaders could be distributed in the game via chests or Rahool, while the legendary items would have lower drop rates.
Teleport effects: Simply apply to Amanda. The special effects could be triggered by exotic ships.
Mods – These would need a fundamental overhaul – but they are not the problem – they are already available from sources other than just the cash shop.
Emotes – These would remain in the cash shop with Tess Everis. Just like it was in Destiny 1. This can easily be sold for “only” silver.
What do you think, would this Destiny 2 be closer to a game that you would wish for than the current one?
Military MMOs such as World of Tanks, War Thunder, or Foxhole impress with detailed replicas of historical war machines and tactical gameplay. But which MMO featuring aircraft, ships, tanks, and soldiers is best suited for you?
Fans of tanks, aircraft, warships, and soldiers have it tough. Several high-quality military MMOs are competing for the favor of virtual commanders:
Should I, as a tank fan, prefer War Thunder or World of Tanks?
Are the arcade air battles in World of Warplanes worth my time?
And is it worth starting Foxhole?
We have compiled a list of 7 military MMOs and explain whether they fit you or not.
War Thunder – How realistic should it be?
War Thunder (PC, PS4) by Gaijin Entertainment is a military MMO that should appeal to many players. Because here you get wild aerial battles with historical aircraft, fierce ground battles with tanks, and soon also naval battles with fast patrol boats and destroyers. There are even combined battles where aircraft are involved in ground and sea engagements.
War Thunder also offers three levels of realism:
In arcade mode you can shoot to your heart’s content.
In realistic mode, enemies are not marked, and g-forces affect your aircraft.
In simulation mode, you might struggle to take off without much practice or to keep your tank on the road for long.
A highlight of War Thunder is the dynamic damage system. You and your opponents do not have fixed hit points. Rather, you must specifically target components such as wings, engines, ammunition storage, crew, or fuel tanks for destruction. So it may happen that you can endure for a while, but with just one lucky hit, you might go down immediately.
Love detailed vehicles from World War eras and the Cold War
Want to try realistic game modes
War Thunder is less suitable for you if you:
Prefer fights that are strictly divided by weapon types. In War Thunder, aircraft can always appear.
Prefer a fixed, predictable hit point system
World of Tanks – Tactical battles with tanks
World of Tanks (PC, Xbox, PS4) by Wargaming is the leader among tank MMOs and has millions of players worldwide. The game principle is simple: Two teams of various types of tanks face off against each other, shooting each other to bits in a mix of tactical lurking and swift advances or capturing mission objectives.
Each tank is accurately modeled and corresponds to historical prototypes or is based on twisted ideas and prototypes. Each tank has specific characteristics and hit points. The damage model is thus static.
There are no combined battles with other weapon types, such as aircraft or infantry. However, you get plenty of tank action!
World of Tanks is perfect for you if you:
Are totally into tanks from the world wars and shortly thereafter. WoT has hundreds of them!
Prefer a mix of tactics and action that is easy to learn but hard to master
World of Tanks is less suitable for you if you:
Want combined battles with aircraft, ships, or soldiers
Don’t like the static damage system and would prefer more realism.
Armored Warfare – Tank battles with modern warfare and PvE
Armored Warfare (PC, PS4) by My.com is a tank MMO that heavily borrows from the gameplay of World of Tanks. However, you will only drive modern vehicles here. If you want to drive current battle tanks like the M1A2, Leopard II, Challenger II, or even the brand-new Russian T-14 Armata, Armored Warfare is the right choice.
You also get modern weapon systems like smoothbore cannons and guided missiles. If you prefer to compete only against other players, you can play Armored Warfare in coop missions with teammates against the AI and grind through the game.
Armored Warfare is perfect for you if you:
Want to utilize modern tanks and their weapon systems
Enjoy playing PvE rounds with your friends
Armored Warfare is less suitable for you if you:
Want combined battles with aircraft, ships, or soldiers
Don’t want the static damage system and would prefer more realism.
World of Warships – Epic naval battles!
World of Warships (PC) is like World of Tanks by Wargaming and brings the successful gameplay of World of Tanks to the high seas. Instead of tanks, it’s about large warships from the world war eras. You will navigate destroyers, cruisers, heavy battleships, and even aircraft carriers across the oceans and shoot at each other with guns and torpedoes.
Since ships rarely stand still, the battles are more dynamic. However, the ships can endure much more damage and thus can afford prolonged exchanges of fire. World of Warships therefore offers fun for fans of tactics as well as action.
World of Warships is perfect for you if you:
Appreciate dynamic battles with large ships
Enjoy the easy-to-learn World of Tanks gameplay with ships
World of Warships is less suitable for you if you:
Want combined battles with aircraft, ships, or soldiers
Don’t like the static damage system and would prefer more realism.
Foxhole (PC) places you as a simple soldier in a fictional, persistent game world. A war is raging that is inspired by World War II. You decide which side you want to be on and participate in massive battles with hundreds of players. However, you are just a small soldier in a huge army.
You control your fighter from an overhead perspective and can move freely in the game world. To win, you must act as a team, provide weapons and vehicles via the supply system, and participate in large joint operations.
Foxhole is perfect for you if you:
Are all about teamwork
Have always wanted to be part of a large military operation
Foxhole is less suitable for you if you:
Want to be something special and not just an interchangeable soldier in a mass army
Are not interested in logistics and supply
World of Warplanes – Arcade air battles
Wargaming’s third “World-of” game World of Warplanes (PC) lets you pilot aircraft in wild air battles. Unlike War Thunder, it focuses on arcade action without much realism. You fly around with aircraft from the world war eras and shoot down enemies. If you get shot down, you can respawn after a while.
To win, you must bomb enemy positions and then capture them by flying over. In this way, you can unlock bonuses in battle.
World of Warplanes is perfect for you if you:
Enjoy straightforward arcade action with aircraft
Like playing the easy-to-learn World of Tanks gameplay with aircraft
World of Warplanes is less suitable for you if you:
Don’t want to play just with aircraft but prefer combined battles.
Would rather have realistic aerial combat without respawns and a static damage model
Naval Action – Sail ship ahoy!
Military confrontations on the high seas occurred long before the world wars. The 18th century was full of wild battles between sailing ships that bombarded each other with broadside from their gun decks and engaged in fierce boarding maneuvers.
In Naval Action, you control such majestic sailing ships. The developers place great emphasis on realism. Since sailing ships have no engines, you must pay attention to the wind. Additionally, the weight of your cargo matters, and different types of cannonballs are differently effective.

Additionally, there is a complex economic aspect. You build a trading guild and trade across the oceans, conquering areas for optimal markets. Similar to historical trading organizations like the East India Company from Britain. Naval Action is currently available for PC as an Early Access game on Steam.
Naval Action is perfect for you if you:
Want to engage in realistic battles with sailing ships
Also enjoy some kind of economic simulation in the 18th century
Naval Action is less suitable for you if you:
Prefer modern ships and weapons
Want only arcade action with ships and have no desire for realism and trade.
Which monsters from Generation 3 hatch from the 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs in Pokémon GO? In this overview, you will find out.
In December, Niantic brought many monsters from the Hoenn region to Pokémon GO. Trainers now have a greater selection of Pokémon that they can catch in the wild or receive as rewards from eggs.
But which Pokémon hatch from which egg type?
Gen 3 Egg List
In the first days after the release of Generation 3, trainers have been actively on the move. The community is curious about which monsters are hidden in the eggs now and is therefore hatching many eggs.
PokéStops in Pokémon GO often give trainers eggs. These are categorized into 2km, 5km, and 10km. If you cover this distance with an egg in the incubator, a monster from the first, second, or third generation will hatch. We already have an egg list for the Pokémon from the first and second generation:
Now it is being investigated which monsters from Generation 3 are in the various egg categories.
First results are already being collected by the communities of TheSilphRoad and PokémonGOHub. Keep in mind that the list may change in the future due to further reports from trainers. Last update: 31.12.2017

Why not slash through hordes of monsters as Serious Sam or Duke Nukem? Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan makes this partially possible. We took a close look at the Steam reviews and put the MMO-ARPG to the test in a preview.
We have examined the new sci-fi MMOARPG Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan for you. What do the Steam reviews say? What does the game have to offer? Additionally, there is a preview report from Benedict that highlights the pros and cons of the fast-paced action game.
What is Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan?
Since December 14, 2017, Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan has been in Early Access on Steam. The base version of the game costs €22.99.
In Wild Buster, MMO elements meet a fast-paced hack’n’slash combat system.
First, choose which side you want to fight on: Guardians or Abandon. After that, you have twelve unique classes (six per faction) to choose from, with which you are supposed to save the planet “Titan” from the aggressive cyborg race, the Broken.
Players experience the game from an isometric perspective, or a tilted bird’s-eye view. You can expect lots of dungeons where hordes of monsters are waiting to be defeated by your attacks.
A German localization for Wild Buster is expected to follow soon. The Early Access will last about four to six months and will bring regular updates.
The release version of Wild Buster is expected to offer even more heroes as well as additional dungeon types, better graphics, guild halls, fully voiced story scenes, WASD and controller support, cooking and fishing, housing, and much more in the game.
Mostly Positive Feedback on Steam
The Early Access of Wild Buster is already well received on Steam.
Many players positively highlight the action-packed combat system. Skills respond quickly and provide a lot of fun during the challenging boss fights: Here, your dodging skills are also required. If you don’t dodge the powerful attack of the overpowered enemy, you’ll take the full brunt to the face and lose a lot of HP.
Furthermore, the easily understandable quest system receives praise, guiding you clearly to the next task instead of having you wander around the world.
However, criticism points include linear levels with few visual details. Others criticize that the skills do not differ strongly enough and feel similar. Wild Buster could still improve on this front.
Many testers point out the Early Access state of Wild Buster in their criticisms: The game is in Early Access, and this is evident in many situations. So don’t expect a miracle game when buying Wild Buster. There are still many smaller updates needed, which testers believe should focus on fine-tuning.
Overall, the ratings on Steam are positive. 77% of the 53 reviews give a thumbs up.
In summary: The game has a solid foundation and works well. However, it still needs some polishing to make it smoother, for example. Players also complain about the lack of difficulty: Levels are too easy to get through.
The First Impressions of Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan
What our author Benedict thinks of this sci-fi MMO with a touch of “Diablo” is shown in his preview:
I was initially skeptical of Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan: An isometric ARPG with a dystopian sci-fi setting. The story told by the intro sounds unexciting. Humans colonize a planet, alien cyborgs warm them up, humans flee and fight back.
It became interesting once the actual game began. There are two factions: Guardians and Abandon, which from the start prepares for a PvP aspect that I had not encountered in the genre before.
I briefly compared the factions, listened to the stories, and explored possible paths, before I joined Abandon and started an Undertaker. Big scythes, melee combat, and magic—right up my alley!
Note that this is the beginning of the game. I have not yet had access to raid dungeons for up to 15 players or PvP tournaments.
The Good Sides of Wild Buster
Diverse Class Selection
The biggest plus point from my perspective is the variety that Wild Buster offers. Each of the factions currently has six classes to choose from, which offer diverse play styles and different skill sets. There are no equivalents in the other faction, making each class unique.
Fun Gameplay
What I noticed right away in the tutorial is: The game is fun. Like every ARPG I’ve played so far, Wild Buster also grabs my desire to game. It is easy to learn and offers what I expect from games of this genre: Looting and leveling. And of course, tons of enemies that I can introduce to their maker.
The controls are intuitive and the gameplay is fluid. Even with a weak computer and high ping, I got at least 30 FPS with many enemies. I rarely experienced lag. Overall, it isn’t hard at the beginning to get the upper hand on the enemies.
Accessible and Enjoyably Challenging Boss Fights
As far as I have progressed in my hours of gameplay, the game flow is also quite clear. I usually know where I need to go and what to expect there. If I have difficulties, a yellow marker shows me the way. Foolproof.
However, the game is pleasantly challenging at certain points. The regular boss fights are already quite tough, and if I don’t constantly dodge or use potions, I quickly meet my end. Group play is certainly even more exciting!
The Bad Sides
Serious Sam and Duke Nukem are Just Skins
During my adventures, I also noticed some weaknesses in Wild Buster. In character selection, I desperately searched for Serious Sam and Duke Nukem, which according to the game description I should be able to collect and level as “unique heroes.”
At first, I thought: Perhaps they are not available for the Abandon. A quick check confirmed to me: The Guardians do not have these classes either. After a brief search, I found my prestige objects for the Founders, Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition rather hidden in my mailbox.
Among these prestige objects were: Duke Nukem and Serious Sam – as costumes for the Titan Trooper and Wild Commando. Both are classes of the Guardians, thus not available for the faction I chose.
A pretty big disappointment that grew even larger when I realized that other than appearances, nothing changes about the character. Currently, skills and equipment match standard classes. According to the FAQ, some implementation changes are expected by the release.
Linear Levels and Little Variety in Quests
These maps are linear. There is exactly one way with no alternatives (not even dead ends) and no exploration options. I fight my way through enemies to the final boss. That’s it.
The quests are almost identical for each map – or dungeon. Kill 50 enemies, kill the miniboss, kill the final boss. Occasionally I get to rescue prisoners (for whatever reason a assimilating cyborg race takes prisoners…). Everything else is always the same.
The Story and Game Progression
I am greeted as “Noob” and am supposed to take on the “tasks of a Noob”. No problem, after all, I am one. But this obviously includes saving outposts and battling overpowering forces alone. As much effort as the developers put into the classes, they have skimped on the story.
As soon as I enter a new area, I am supposed to finish three maps that remind me of simple dungeon runs. No matter where I go, I’m supposed to help some outpost not to perish. After the second map of the second area, I stopped reading the quest texts. They are simply not interesting.
I would have liked to make things more interesting by increasing the difficulty requirement. But that doesn’t work either. I play on the difficulty level “Training”, which means “The enemies die even if you are AFK.”
I only receive higher difficulty levels after completing the game at the preceding difficulty level. This was the case in Diablo before, but Blizzard realized that this is not a good idea. Why copy bad models?
Conclusion in Wild Buster Preview: There’s Still Something Missing
Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan is fun, but the long-term motivation leaves a lot to be desired. At the moment, Wild Buster is in Early Access, but it needs more than just fine-tuning to reach the next level to succeed as a full-price title. However, the developer promises to deliver plenty of content before the release. We will keep an eye on that.
The current state is playable and passes the time, but if you approach it with the expectation of receiving a finished game, you will find more entertainment elsewhere for your money, I think. In particular, the promise of video game heroes that currently do not exist is questionable.
For fans of quirky characters, wild ideas, and an ARPG with influences from Shadowrun and Borderlands, Wild Buster is worth considering. However, I would still advise waiting a bit. Unless you want to support the development of the game, which is still in Early Access. Wild Buster has potential that is currently still untapped.
Have you tried Wild Buster yet? What is your impression of the MMO-ARPG?
Join our Destiny quiz for the year 2017! Do you remember what happened in Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 this year?
2017 was an eventful year for Destiny. In the first half of the year, many players’ Guardian journey in Destiny 1 came to a calm end. In the fall, new adventures began in Destiny 2. And in between were months of announcements, teaser trailers, and testing phases for the sequel.

Overwatch is generally already waiting with beautiful maps – but there are fans out there who are trying their hand at the style and creating their own maps using Unreal Engine 4: fans like Joshua Llorente. His “Cairo” map could easily have sprung from Overwatch itself – and this is noticed not only by other players.
For two months, the Filipino Joshua Llorente worked on the map. From scratch, meaning without downloads of corresponding skins, he built the map and thus visualized a piece of Egypt in the Overwatch style.

Although there is already an official map that takes place in Egypt, this one is rather reminiscent of the cliché of the Orient. The map designed by Llorente appears more current, showing the real mix of various worldly influences that shape Egypt as a whole and the capital Cairo in particular.
And yes, it looks phenomenal. The many details and seemingly enchanted places invite you to linger, while the winding alleys would offer plenty of room for the actual game. If only the map could make it into the game…
Although Llorente, who is currently working on his college project, is highly praised by players. Again and again, for example, in his thread on Reddit, there is a question about whether he has already applied to Blizzard and his skills are praised.
He himself remains modest. “I don’t know,” he responds to the suggestion to send an application to Blizzard, “I still have a lot to learn. I don’t have enough experience yet to create fully functional, optimized environments. First, I want to gain some experience in local gaming companies. At some point in the future, I might apply there.”
Meanwhile, Overwatch head Jeff Kaplan has also taken notice of the young talent and promises publicly to get in touch and stay in touch with him.
These are good news for someone who still sees it all as a game and hopes too much from it. He has certainly shown that he has what it takes. Not only with this current map, but also with his other previous creations (Link leads to the Artstation website).
I personally keep my fingers crossed for him that his work will bear fruit and that he and Kaplan will actually get in touch!
A survey on Reddit has identified the most popular and best landing spots in Fortnite’s fast-paced Battle Royale mode. We show you where you can find peace – and where things get heated!
The Reddit user imkairu wanted to know exactly where players prefer to land and recently presented interesting results.
What are your best landing spots in Fortnite: Battle Royale?
A total of nearly 1,300 players participated in the survey – thus it is quite representative. However, there are some limitations in the data evaluation.
The landing spots were not divided by game mode. The choice of starting point can vary significantly between Solo and Team modes. Additionally, Reddit is usually populated by passionate and experienced players who know the map very well.
Last but not least, the survey creator divided the map into zones (as they also appear in the game). Some cities are covered by more than one zone (Pleasant Park), which would need to be added together.
Hotspot Retail Row – Dead silence south of Loot Lake
The red marked points on the map are the hot spots, particularly Retail Row. Nearly 10% of the people indicated they land here or in the adjacent Trailer Park.
The second spot seems somewhat surprising, as it is far from larger cities. What accounts for its great popularity?
But strategically, the landing spot is valuable as well. Depending on the location of the eye of the storm, various map points can be accessed from the landing spot:
To the west is Anarchy Acres
To the south is Tomato Town and
to the east you can fight your way through Wailing Woods to Lonely Lodge
Besides the two hotspots, Salty Springs, Greasy Grove, and the southern part of the map with Fatal Fields and the prison are extremely popular.
If you count all four zones around Pleasant Park, the city is even more popular than Retail Row (>>10%).
Even though the results should be taken with caution, they do provide a good overview. This is evidenced by the low landing numbers south of Loot Lake. The other quiet spots also come with the drawback of dropping relatively little loot – resulting in poorer chances in a fight.
Epic is aware of the significant gap south of Loot Lake – there are already plans to place another city at this location – creating another potential hotspot!
What are your favorite landing spots? Let us know in the comments!

In Arena of Valor, you can choose from over 35 heroes to compete in 5v5, 3v3, or other exciting game modes. You will find familiar MOBA elements like different lanes (Top, Mid, and Bot) here.
Heroes fall into classic roles such as tanks, marksmen, mages, supporters, and assassins. The difference from other well-known MOBAs like League of Legends is that matches in AOV run significantly faster. It’s more of a “Moba for a quick break” that can be played during a pause or while on the go.
The forms are now ready for you to sign up for the European Closed Beta of Arena of Valor on the Nintendo Switch. However, this is not a permanent registration but more of an application to test. There is no guarantee of participation in the beta. Here’s the registration form on ue.arenaofvalor.com

Poogie is a little pig that plays an important role in Monster Hunter World According to legend, Poogie brings players good luck on the hunt. We present the special pig.
Who is Poogie? The little pig has been part of the first “Monster Hunter” game and has appeared in every title in the franchise since.
Poogie is an adorable mascot in Monster Hunter that is indispensable for veterans. The pig wanders freely around the village and is often found near merchants.
Since Monster Hunter 2, Poogie has primarily one purpose: Hunters dress the pig in various costumes and enjoy the sight.
It is also possible to interact with Poogie. When an exclamation mark appears above Poogie’s head, you need to press a button at the right moment. Poogie becomes excited, jumps around, and little hearts circle around the pig. Once the hearts appear, Poogie will follow you everywhere in the village.
The Legend of the Lucky Pig
According to the “Monster Hunter” legend, Poogie possesses special powers and is a lucky pig. It is possible to pet Poogie or even pick it up and carry it around.
Those who cuddle with Poogie before the hunt are said to have an increased chance of obtaining rare items when carving monsters. In Monster Hunter World, after catching or killing the animals, you can separate body parts from them. The scales, claws, or bones are needed to craft weapons and armor.
However, this is just a rumor, and the developers remain silent on whether Poogie really is a lucky pig or not.
It is, however, clear that Poogie has been bringing joy to players for years and indeed spreads good luck in a way.
The community of PUBG reaches the next milestone. At the same time, many cheaters are being banned from the battle royale fun.
Considering the milestones that the battle royale shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has achieved in recent months, one can only take their hat off. PUBG has pushed aside all games in the “concurrent players” category on Steam, including such giants as CS: GO and DOTA 2.
PUBG was already at the top during early access and is the game with the most concurrent users of all time on Steam.
Now the successes continue. Even more players and, what is particularly important, even more banned cheaters.
A month later, PUBG was able to double these numbers and increased to over two million concurrent players. Now the game was released in version 1.0, thus leaving early access and immediately set a new high score:
Over three million concurrent players in December.
It is clear that the player numbers are now growing more slowly. But where is the end? Can PUBG reach four million?
The peak of three million may be due to many players being on vacation. Then there is more time for gaming. Furthermore, PUBG seems to be extremely popular in China. How high the numbers will go, we will see in the future.
In the following overview, you can see how this number compares to other popular games such as Dota 2, CS: GO, or GTA 5 Online.
Cheating has been a major problem in PUBG for a long time. The developers are working hard on solutions to kick cheaters out of the game even faster and are developing mechanisms to detect cheater behavior early. This aims to nip potential damage in the bud.
The service that kicks cheaters out of PUBG is called BattlEye. They recently announced: 1.5 million cheaters have already been banned from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Another impressive number from China. There, the Chinese giant Tencent acquired the rights to PUBG. Back then, they promised to take radical action against cheaters. Apparently, they take this seriously. Tencent is said to have excellent connections to the Chinese authorities.
Shortly after Tencent was awarded PUBG, a task force was established at the police in China. With the help of Tencent, the task force is said to have arrested 120 suspects in a short time. Among them are also developers of well-known PUBG cheat tools.

The majority of PUBG cheats come from China. Therefore, players wish for radical punishments, which the developers, however, do not want to implement “that way”. PlayerUnknown says you should report cheaters.

In Destiny 2 you cannot farm Glimmer as efficiently as you might think. This is because there is a cap on Glimmer farming. Once you reach this maximum, kills no longer yield any Glimmer.
Destiny 2 is unfortunately not as transparent as many Guardians would like. This is mainly an issue when the community discovers secret mechanics that apparently “cheat” players and present them with false information. This was the case a few weeks ago, when XP gains in the game were sometimes displayed much higher than they actually were. This deception went down in the history of Destiny 2 as the great XP disaster.
Now, another “secret mechanic” is causing a stir in the reddit forum, pointed out by the user NoctisNoctua. His tests showed that Guardians are severely restricted when farming Glimmer: If you kill too many enemies, you will not receive any Glimmer for a while.
Glimmer farming has restrictions
The user conducted several tests in the EDZ and on Titan – at locations where plenty of enemies spawn and one can continuously eliminate foes. While his tests are not particularly “scientific”, they provide clear results that other Guardians can confirm.
Once you gain around 400 Glimmer by killing enemies, the Glimmer gain stops. If you continue to eliminate enemies, you will no longer receive any additional Glimmer. Once, the user killed around 60 enemies for minutes after reaching the cap, and did not receive the currency for a single enemy.
If you wait around 20 seconds and then kill an enemy again, you will start to gain Glimmer again. However, it stops at 200 Glimmer; the Glimmer cap is then lower.
This means that if you defeat enemies too quickly in succession, you will no longer receive Glimmer. Therefore, it’s not worth throwing yourself into the fray and going a bit overboard.
The user points out that this is a completely pointless farming cap. As a result, one loses a lot of Glimmer because in strikes or raid activities, you often encounter large groups of enemies. And if one wants to kill enemies for hours to farm Glimmer, then this should be rewarded and not throttled with a cap.
Glimmer farming cap is not new
One or the other Destiny veteran among you might say: “Hmm, this sounds familiar!” And they are right.
Because such a Glimmer farming cap existed in Destiny 1. This restriction was therefore carried over to Destiny 2.
For some Guardians, this information is therefore not really “new”, but many Guardians, especially PC players, are surely hearing about it for the first time.
Keep in mind that you can also obtain Glimmer not only by killing enemies. You also receive the currency by completing activities and challenges or by dismantling blue items.
You can use Glimmer in the endgame to purchase mods from the weapons master, to apply shaders, or to spend it on treasure maps with Cayde-6.
In the MMORPG Chronicles of Elyria, there is supposed to be an interesting and unusual event that brings three years of darkness.
MMO fans sometimes argue about how long the day-night cycle in a game should last. Those who prefer the bright day must prepare for a somewhat unusual event in Chronicles of Elyria. This event is called “The Longest Night” and will bring three years of night.
A Long Time of Darkness
The three years will of course be calculated in game time, yet it should take a relatively long time until the sun will be seen again.
One year in Chronicles of Elyria lasts four “Earth days,” making this “Longest Night” about 12 days long.
The event takes place at certain times when the star constellations reach a specific position. The planet Selene moves in front of the sun, leading to this long night. Precisely speaking, it will only be completely dark for one year, the other two years will then be in twilight.
Cooperation is Important
The event also brings some challenges for the players. During this time, survival is paramount, which means players will have to cooperate even more than they should already be doing. During the “Longest Night,” disputes should therefore also be set aside, although this dark time might be best suited for treacherous attacks. Nevertheless, the developers hope that players will engage in togetherness and cooperation.
The event occurs every 52 years in-game. So, it will not constantly bring this long darkness. During the event, many festivals take place, which unfold differently depending on the culture in the game world.
During a livestream for Alpha 0 of the upcoming MMORPG Ashes of Creation, the developers revealed interesting things about the game.
Ashes of Creation is certainly one of the more interesting MMORPGs currently in development. Many players are already curious about how Ashes of Creation feels and whether the MMORPG is actually fun. Since December 15, family members and friends of the developers can take the first steps in an early version of the online game.
Classes determine skills but not the weapons
There was also a livestream showing how Ashes of Creation currently looks and how it plays. During this livestream, the developers talked about the MMORPG: about character creation, for example.
During character creation, you first choose one of eight base classes that you are locked into. Throughout your adventures, you can choose one of eight secondary classes, which you can also change at any time. What this change looks like has not been discussed yet.
Your class determines which skills you can use, but you have freedom in weapon selection. Some classes can handle certain weapons better. However, if you want to play a mage with a bow, you can do that. By performing combos with your weapon, you build up focus. You then use this to cast certain abilities that consume focus. Ashes of Creation will allow you to choose between an action-packed, active combat system and classic tab-targeting.
Leveling up also improves your settlement
The level cap at the release of the MMORPG will be level 50. It should take quite a while to level up, and every level up grants you skill points that you can distribute among your abilities. Each level up also brings experience points to the node near you. Nodes essentially represent the core of a play area. Depending on what deeds you accomplish, this changes the node and thus the area. Each node is also based on a settlement. The more EXP a node receives, the more that settlement improves up to a large metropolis.
A dungeon was also shown. These dungeons are open and do not represent instances. How the developers plan to solve the issue of many players camping at the boss spawn point is still unclear.
Graphically, Ashes of Creation makes a good impression according to the livestream video. However, the UI is still a placeholder. Judging by the video, we might expect a very interesting MMORPG. We will certainly see more of the game in 2018.
Do you want to know how the upcoming online shooter Escape from Tarkov plays and help the developers test the server load? Then the New Year’s event is definitely interesting.
At the beginning of the upcoming year, the open beta of the online shooter Escape from Tarkov will start (an exact date will be announced later). In preparation, the servers will be tested as part of the New Year’s event. The developers want to see how they respond under load in order to make some adjustments before the open beta. Additional players are to be allowed in.
Play the online shooter for seven days with a bit of luck
Those who register on the official website will have the chance to participate in the New Year’s event and play for seven days. The developers will randomly select participants from all registered players. If you have already purchased Escape from Tarkov, you will automatically be included and even receive exclusive gear that you can also transfer to the official version.
Secure additional access and discounts
If you were already involved before the closed beta started on July 28, 2017, you will also receive two additional seven-day accesses that you can share with friends. If you even started before August 5, 2016, you will receive a promo code for the standard edition of the game and also two seven-day accesses for friends.
The New Year’s event started on December 28 and is supposed to last a few weeks. So hurry up if you want to participate.
In the week following the start of the New Year’s event, you can also secure a 25% discount on all transactions. This includes purchasing the game or upgrade packs as well as gifts.
In Wichita, Kansas, an innocent man was shot by a police officer. The cause was reportedly a so-called SWATTING incident triggered by a dispute over a $2 bet in Call of Duty.
The “Wichita Eagle” reports on a horrific incident. A 28-year-old man was shot by a police officer on Thursday night. The police were responding to a call that there had been a murder at the address followed by a hostage situation. The call turned out to be false.
Police responded to murder with hostage situation
The deputy police chief stated that the officers were responding to a call. The call said that there was a dispute between a mother and a person that escalated and the father had been accidentally shot. The person in question was now holding the mother, sister, and brother hostage. The father died from a gunshot wound to the head.
These were the details based on which the police proceeded.
When the police arrived and set up for a hostage situation, a man came to the front door. An officer fired his weapon at him. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The call was found to be false: the police are now investigating this. They have a lot of information to evaluate.
No further details are currently available.
Dispute over $2 bet in Call of Duty leads to SWATTING
Meanwhile, there are indications from the Call of Duty community that this false call may be a case of “SWATTING.” However, this has not yet been confirmed by the police.
A professional Call of Duty player summarized the situation in a tweet.

Apparently, two players got into a dispute over a $2 bet on a Call of Duty match, and the argument escalated until they threatened each other with SWATTING.
Then one of them sent a false address nearby to a known “SWATTER” that he received from the other as a provocation, and the disaster unfolded.
The police will later provide an update on their investigation. According to reports from the Call of Duty site Dexerto, the affected players have deleted their Twitter accounts.
“SWATTING” refers to exactly such false calls as in this case. The police are supposed to act aggressively and harshly against the individual who is to be “swatted”. They are misled into believing there is a critical life-and-death situation. This is complete madness, as this SWATTING indeed conjures a life-and-death situation.
25-year-old man arrested – video of the incident and the 911 call released
Update 30.12. 11:10:
The Wichita police have released the 911 emergency call that later turned out to be a false call based on which the police acted. The caller claimed he had accidentally shot his father, was now holding his family hostage, and was considering dousing the house with gasoline and lighting it on fire. He appeared confused and detached.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department has arrested a 25-year-old man who is believed to be connected to the SWATTING in Wichita. He was arrested on Friday afternoon US time. The 25-year-old suspect is believed to have been involved in similar crimes in the past. This is the known SWATTER in the Call of Duty scene that people immediately held responsible.
In Destiny 2, the servers will be down for several hours next week. An update is coming that will adjust events in 2018.
Actually, most of Bungie is still on winter break, but some developers have apparently been working diligently on a new update that will be released early in 2018. However, maintenance is必要 before that.
Here are the preliminary details:
On January 3, 2018 (Wednesday) starting at 4 PM, preparations for maintenance will begin. You will no longer be able to log in from then on.
At 5 PM, the servers will be shut down. You will be removed from your activities.
By 9 PM, the work should be completed. By this time, Update 1.1.1.2 can be downloaded and installed.
What changes with Update 1.1.1.2?
The patch notes for 1.1.1.2 will be published next Wednesday, as soon as the update is live. However, community manager dmg04 is already providing an outlook on what this update will change:
Access to the Iron Banner and the Faction Rally will finally be adjusted.
To avoid another shitstorm during the Iron Banner and the Faction Rally, these events have been postponed until a fix is found so that all Guardians can participate again.
The faction leaders in Destiny 2
This fix apparently comes next week with 1.1.1.2, allowing the Iron Banner and team battles to take place again soon. According to dmg04, discussions will take place in the coming weeks about when to expect a return of the events.
By the way: After the fix, all Guardians can participate in the events again, but the new items of Season 2 remain reserved for those Guardians who own the “Curse of Osiris” DLC. Those who do not buy the expansion can only get the items that have been in the game since the launch of Destiny 2.
In some form, it will surely continue, as community developers Hamish Bode and Yannick Banchereau confirmed that they will still be around in 2018 in their roles. We are curious to see what the future holds!

Fans of hearty PvP games, pay attention: The alpha phase of the sandbox MMORPG Rend starts in the first quarter.
Rend aims to be a mix of MMORPG, online action game, and MOBA, even incorporating some survival elements. It’s clear that many players are excited to see how it plays. And soon you will have the opportunity to find out, as the alpha phase has been announced.
Alpha starts in 2018, will be continuously expanded
The alpha is set to take place in the first quarter of 2018, with a specific date to be announced by the developers. As is the case with many other online games, the alpha will initially only be accessible to family members and friends of the developers. Once enough feedback has been collected regarding stability, more players will be allowed in. The number of testers is expected to gradually increase. On the official website of the game Rend, you can register for the alpha and may be selected with a bit of luck.
The alpha is subject to an NDA. This means that participants are not allowed to discuss their experiences publicly, post screenshots, or record videos.
MMORPG meets MOBA and survival
In Rend, you belong to one of three factions that are at war with each other and want to destroy one another. The game is divided into matches, similar to a MOBA. Each match starts with you gathering resources for your faction to collectively build a fortress and craft weapons and equipment. However, you will not only fight members of opposing groups but also monsters that roam the wilderness. Each faction area is protected by a shield that falls in the last phase of the match. Then the base can be attacked. The faction that survives at the end wins.
From each match, you can carry over bonus points, depending on how effectively you played, which you apply to your next hero, making them more powerful than the previous character.
On the priority list of PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), the well-being of gamers is undoubtedly at the top. For the coming year, the team has set strong goals.
PlayersUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been in full version for just a few days. With this, the developers have fulfilled their promise to leave Early Access with the PC version in 2017.
What’s next on the agenda is likely to please fans of competitive gaming.
Fixing Rubberbanding and Looking Ahead
In an interview with Kotaku, Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene explained that the release of PUBG version 1.0 marks the completion of the core features. All basic functions are now in the game. Now the team is addressing acute issues.
“There are still crashes and rubberbanding. We are currently working on that,” Greene explains. With rubberbanding, you may suddenly be rewound in time in the game, finding yourself in a completely different spot from one second to the next. It’s as if your character is attached to a rubber band that pulls them back regularly.
A patch has already been released to address this issue:

To completely fix the rubberbanding, the developers will need more time.
More Balance for a Competitive PUBG
The focus will also be on the gameplay of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in the future to make the game more competitive and more in line with being “eSports-ready.”
Brendan Greene believes that PUBG is already competitive. However, the statistics of the game will now be examined more closely, and more work will be done in the area of “balancing.”
Mods for PUBG?
Brendan Greene does not dismiss modifications for his battle royale shooter. It would be odd since the game practically originated in a mod for ARMA.
However, Greene also explains that adding modding would be a significant step. A lot of code would need to be rewritten to make the game mod-friendly. And there is, at least at the moment, no time for that.
Custom games are expected to give players many options to customize matches to their liking. Not much needs to change in the core code for that. This is, for now, the compromise.
Better connection to the character: Level-ups and Ranked Games
Changes for the coming year also include a better connection to the character with whom you regularly play your matches. A character level system and a kind of ranked play should strengthen the bond to your battle royale avatar.
More Cosmetic Items for PUBG
Furthermore, there will be more cosmetic items, although there are concerns about the gambling scene. In games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, items are regularly sold for several hundred euros. PUBG has already shown in the past that it is not immune to this trading.
“We can’t really control what happens on the gray market. Such things [trading with in-game items] will always be there. No matter what we do. The system we release should be fair and work on the Steam market,” says Brendan Greene.
The developers’ priority now is to make the game competitive, stable, and crash-free.
