This week, a new monster is coming to the world of Monster Hunter World. Its name is Deviljho, and it belongs to the most brutal monsters in the entire franchise. It is huge, it is bloodthirsty, and it always comes when you least expect it.
Already this Thursday, on March 22, Deviljho is coming to Monster Hunter World. It will be the first free DLC monster that enters the new world. Due to the anticipation, and so you can already get in the mood for the new beast, we introduce Deviljho here.
The violent wyvern makes even large monsters flee in fear
Deviljho is a fighting wyvern that made its first appearance in Monster Hunter 3. This beast is definitely not for hunting beginners, as hardly any monster is more brutal than it. Both hunters and other monsters fear Deviljho, as it is constantly obsessed with searching for food.
Even though the fighting wyvern looks cold-blooded, it has an unusually high body temperature. The high energy consumption created by this keeps Deviljho always suffering from hunger, which it satisfies with flesh. With its insatiable appetite, the fighting wyvern is capable of exterminating entire species and destroying ecosystems.
According to observations, Deviljho are cannibals that also eat their own kind. There are even reports that the animals would eat their own tails once hunters cut them off.
In addition, fighting wyverns are huge and sit high up in the food chain. Hunters barely reach Deviljho’s feet. Most other large monsters flee as soon as they see the beast. Deviljho is said to be on par with Elder Dragons in terms of strength.
In battle, Deviljho bursts with rage and spews a beam from its mouth
Deviljho has heavy, powerful muscles, and its mouth is filled with sharp teeth. The monster has powerful legs, which it uses to effortlessly pursue its victims across the area. With its strong jaw, Deviljho executes crushing attacks. Due to all these characteristics, the fighting wyvern can easily pin its prey and tear the flesh from them.
In rage mode, Deviljho pumps up its powerful muscles, making it even faster and stronger. The bulging muscle strands also better harden the beast against attacks. The stretching of the skin reveals the old scars of Deviljho, and the fibrous tissue underneath becomes visible. This gives the animal a glowing, demonic appearance.
In its raging fury, Deviljho can perform a special attack. It releases dragon element particles from its mouth that spread like a ray. This beam is particularly deadly and requires good equipment.
Deviljho always appears when you least expect it…
Deviljho can perfectly adapt to its surroundings and roams the world in search of food. The nomad has no fixed areas where it lingers. Similar to Bazelgeuse, Deviljho always appears suddenly and unexpectedly.
The two might cross paths more often once they appear together in the new world. A spectacular territorial fight was already seen during a stream from Capcom. In the video, some attack patterns of the fighting wyvern can also be observed.
As in previous installments, Deviljho mainly uses its powerful jaw to attack and tosses its opponents around. It uses its foot to pin Bazelgeuse to the ground. The rage mode, in which the beast glows red, is also visible.

What attack patterns Deviljho possesses in detail and what weaknesses it will have will be revealed on Thursday. However, it is to be expected that its attacks will not deviate too much from those in previous installments. Most attack patterns of the “old” monsters were carried over into World, and there is little reason to assume that this will not be the case for Deviljho.
