Overnight, Pokémon GO introduced a new limit that targets the nicknames of the Pokémon. Trainers are reacting skeptically to the new change and to the error message: “Please enter a different nickname.”
Renaming Brake: Some Pokémon GO players noticed a change this morning that has quietly crept into the game. After you rename 30 Pokémon, you must take a forced break from renaming.
Forced Break: After renaming 30 Pokémon, you will receive an error on the 31st. Pokémon GO says, “Please enter a different nickname.” But no matter what name you enter afterwards, none will be accepted.
Changed Overnight: On Reddit, user BECP reported that he noticed this new limit in the past hours. He states that this is not due to inappropriate names – it would happen regardless.
Other users have since confirmed the limit and say that the 31st renaming only works after a certain waiting period.
How long do you have to wait after 30 names? The community is now researching how much time must pass before you can rename again. Initial reports say that 30 minutes after the last renaming, number 31 can follow.
How Trainers are Reacting
Incomprehension: Many trainers cannot understand why Niantic is implementing such a restriction. For them, it is incomprehensible and just a pointless hurdle that makes life harder for trainers.
Player xKageyami writes that renaming Pokémon is already cumbersome and takes too much time. This limit would now put the icing on the cake of that process.
User letsplay1196 writes that it would be the most useless limit in Pokémon GO.
Why a hurdle? Many trainers rename their Pokémon according to their IV values. A Pikachu might be named “93%” or receive similar names. Now you can only do this for 30 monsters in a row before a break must be taken.
What’s the point of the limit? It is suspected that this limit was implemented due to server load. Reddit user Pwuz comments, “It’s probably to minimize server load. Every time you change a Pokémon’s name, Niantic’s servers have to be updated.”
Whether this limit will remain or if Niantic might test other settings is still unclear.
In week 6 of Season 5 in Fortnite: Battle Royale, a treasure hunt awaits you. You should search where the stone heads are looking.
The secret of the stone heads: In week 6, Fortnite revolves around the secret that the stone heads brought into the game. Now you should search where they cast their gaze. We have already researched this for you and will show you where to find the treasure.
Finding stone heads in Fortnite
Scattered heads: You can find special stone heads scattered all over the island. They may not do much at first, but they are important for this quest. Because where their gazes meet, a treasure lies for you.
Fans have already mapped out where the heads are looking on the Fortnite map. It became clear that their line of sight converges in Salty Springs. So that is your target for this treasure hunt.
This map comes from Reddit user u/ShadoukenGames, who highlighted the lines of sight.
Warning, many players: Finding the treasure’s location is not easy, as many players will likely land in Salty Springs this week. Be prepared for many opponents lurking while you search for the treasure.
Where exactly? To the west of Salty Springs, there is a small hill – at the edge of the box F7. On this hill is the star. The following look at the map shows you which hill it is. You can’t really miss it.
Video explanation: In the following video, you can see the location of the star even better and head straight for the treasure hunt.

Have you already completed the other challenges of week 6? We have an overview for you here with all the challenges and tips as well as guides to complete them.
Monster Hunter: World is currently enjoying high player numbers on Steam and makes sure everyone knows it. A bug causes the message “Your friend is playing Monster Hunter: World” to pop up for some players almost every minute.
In comparison, the new bug is quite small but extremely annoying.
“Your friend is playing Monster Hunter: World”
What does the bug do? On Steam, players can get notifications when their friends play different games. Normally, this message is displayed only once at launch.
However, for some “Monster Hunter: World” players, this notification appears every 30 to 60 seconds, as if the player is having connection issues and keeps trying to log in.
The cause of the issue has not yet been determined. Capcom has also not released a patch to fix the bug.
How to end the annoying Steam spam about Monster Hunter World
How can you fix the issue? The temporary solution to the problem is relatively simple. To stop the flood of messages, you need to go into your Steam settings and friend list settings.
There, you need to uncheck the box “When a friend joins a game” and voilà, the spam is gone.
This is just a workaround until Capcom releases a fix. You don’t have to panic and delete your friends on Steam directly, like our dear colleague Patrick.
If you want to dive into the world of Monster Hunter: World on Steam, check out our tips first:
The challenges from Week 6 (Season 5) are now active in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Here we show you all the challenges and explain how to solve them. Week 6 focuses on stone heads and races.
These are all challenges from Week 6 in Season in Fortnite
Ready for challenges? The challenges are now set and the new week has started. We will show you in the following tables what tasks are in store for you.
Free and paid: Every player can tackle the first 3 tasks for free. The challenges in the second table are for players who have purchased a Battle Pass.
Oops, unfortunately this table is no longer available.
Oops, unfortunately this table is no longer available.
Challenge 1: Deal headshot damage to opponents
Aiming: Here aiming is particularly important. You might want to use the new Heavy Sniper. Its bullet drop is not as significant as with other sniper rifles.
Challenge 2: Harvest building resources with a pickaxe
Works in the background: You should regularly mine resources during your Fortnite matches anyway. It also has the advantage that players who want to practice building are constantly reminded of the resources through this task.
Challenge 3: Search where the stone heads are looking (Hard)
Treasure hunt: This is the hard task of the Battle Pass. We have a guide here on Mein-MMO.de that shows you the exact location of the star.
Round by round: Since you do not have to search all the chests in a single match, you can take a few chests in each round. Especially in the large building, you will find several, but there will likely be many opponents roaming there as well.
Challenge 5: Complete time trials
With guide: In this challenge, you will likely have to complete races with the ATKs (All Terrain Karts). We have a guide for you that explains the time trials and shows the locations of the trials.
Challenge 6: Eliminate opponents with a Minigun or a light machine gun (Hard)
Go to crowded places: You can complete this task together with Challenge 7, for example. There is generally a lot going on in Tilted Towers. In week 6, even more players will gather there whom you can pump full of lead. If you cannot handle the mentioned weapons well, you can down enemies with other guns in team play and finish them off with the Minigun or LMG.
Challenge 7: Eliminate opponents at Tilted Towers (Hard)
Get ready for action: Be prepared for many opponents in Tilted Towers. After a few rounds, you should quickly have this task completed there.
After the end of the Overwatch League, some players are struggling. Bad enough to take a break from competitive Overwatch for a while. Even champions and star players like Seagull are facing their problems.
OWL professionals are burned out: In interviews, some pro gamers from the Overwatch League talked about how exhausting the last months have been for them and what marks those months have left.
The stars are so burned out that they refuse to play for the upcoming World Cup – or withdraw from Overwatch as an eSport altogether, like star player Seagull.
Behind the celebratory mood of the OWL, hard work is being done.
eSports is exhausting
The Overwatch League lasted over half a year until the end of July 2018. During this time, players were heavily burdened, trained constantly, and had to improve continuously.
Health implications: The pressure on the players is sometimes so great that some of them have serious health issues. Many players reported depression, fatigue, and sleep problems.
The problems escalated to the point that professionals became not only mentally exhausted but also physically:
Star player Seagull gained about 20 kilograms, could hardly find rest at night due to sleep apnea, and lost the joy of playing
Vice Champion neptuNo struggled with kidney stones, angina, and heartburn – all presumably triggered by stress.
Do-hyeon “Pine” Kim from New York Excelsior.
Impending burnout: Already in May, it was observed that players often appear exhausted and tired. Some players, like Pine, were able to draw new strength after a phase of depression and have noticeably improved.
Other league members, like coach Vytis “Mineral” Lasaitis, had to leave the league due to burnout.
Mineral: “It’s very hard to find the balance between a healthy amount of recovery and optimal preparation […] I think most people in the Overwatch League walk on the edge of burnout in phase 4.”
Everyone needs balance: To avoid burnout, professionals distract themselves from the game. This often happens through physical training. The training plan of many pro gamers includes workouts at the gym.
The professionals themselves say that they sometimes need a break from Overwatch to perform at their best.
Player HarryHook says he likes to go to the beach for this: “I just chill, walk along the water – think of nothing […] I have nothing else to do there. I never think about the game when I’m there.”
HarryHook (left) and Taimou from Dallas Fuel.
Overwatch professionals need a break
The Overwatch League ended on July 28 with the final between Philadelphia Fusion and London Spitfire. For half a year, 12 teams with over 100 players competed for the title of the first OWL champion.
Seagull quits: One of these players is American star player Brandon “Seagull” Larned, who played for Dallas Fuel. Seagull is one of the most well-known Overwatch streamers, but in the OWL he only achieved a few wins with Dallas Fuel.
After the Overwatch League, he announced that he would be stepping back from the professional scene. Instead, he will return to streaming full-time.
Seagull (left) with one of his loyal fans.
neptuNo does not play in the championship: Another professional, Alberto “neptuNo” González, has declined the offer to play for his country Spain in the World Championship. neptuNo placed second in the OWL with Philadelphia Fusion – after a loss to London.
He states that he needs distance from the competitive Overwatch scene. He wants to enjoy the game again for a while and not exhaust himself in the process.
Even champions are tired: Two players from the winning team London Spitfire, Bdosin and Gesture, also talk about the tough times in the league. The league stretches over many months, and eventually, the players simply became tired.
It took a lot of energy for them to cope with the pressures of constant training, the duty to win, changes in the meta, and the absences of other players.
On August 26, the final event of the first season of the Overwatch League starts. In several friendly matches in various modes such as Lúcioball and surprise heroes, community-chosen All-Star teams will compete against each other.
The online role-playing game Fallout 76 aims to combine the classic Fallout experience with multiplayer and survival elements. We present to you eight features that Bethesda wants to convince you with regarding Fallout 76.
What does Fallout 76 aim to be? With Fallout 76, Bethesda ventures into new territory. At its core, Fallout 76 is meant to be a classic 3D Fallout. It will also introduce a multiplayer mode and survival elements.
Fallout 76 does not aim to be an MMORPG, nor an online or survival shooter. It aims to provide a new experience that has not been seen before.
This is why fans are skeptical: Especially the PvP aspect raises concerns among many people. How will Bethesda ensure that Fallout 76 is a “real” Fallout while still being a multiplayer title?
We show you 8 arguments with which Fallout 76 wants to score and what difficulties might be associated with them.
1. As fair PvP as possible – No chance for griefers and trolls
Bethesda has several solutions in place to ensure as much fairness as possible. For instance, Bethesda wants to prevent griefing, which involves hunting and repeatedly killing players.
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: If another player attacks you, they initially inflict only minimal damage. However, if you retaliate, the fight truly begins, and you can fully unleash.
Players also have a pacifist flag. When equipped, it prevents you from causing damage to other players. This way, no one can jump around in front of others and force them into PvP mode by allowing themselves to be hit.
There are additional measures in place that should protect you from annoying griefers, such as
Your equipment will be weakened or strengthened based on your level. This is intended to give new players the opportunity to defend themselves.
Additionally, players below level 5 are invulnerable.
If a hostile player decides to kill you with reduced damage, a bounty will be placed on them. Every player on the server will be informed about it.
The position of the wanted player appears as a large, red star on the map and is visible to every player. If a bounty is placed on someone, they cannot hide from other players.
The reward for players who seek revenge will be generous and will come from the griefers’ pockets in the form of currency and junk.
By the way, you lose nothing from your equipment if you are killed by another player. However, some “junk”, your crafting materials, will remain at your corpse.
What about the Nukes? If your base is destroyed by one of the enemy atomic bombs, you should not worry. If you have built a settlement, you can simply save it as a blueprint and rebuild it anywhere else at any time.
You don’t have to meticulously place every single stone on top of another.
What difficulties could arise? In theory, the measures sound sensible at first. What the practice will look like remains to be seen. How far can the mechanisms be exploited, maybe even abused?
In general, players find ways to create all kinds of mischief.
Through the C.A.M.P feature (Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform), you have the opportunity in Fallout 76 to establish a settlement anywhere in the game world.
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: You can simply pack up everything you build and set it up elsewhere. Additionally, you can save all your buildings and repeatedly use the template.
Prerequisite is that you have enough “junk”, i.e., crafting materials. You can find junk throughout the game world, craft it, or loot it from other players. You have a large selection of items that you can craft, including:
Ammunition
Food
Armor
Building materials
Weapon mods
What difficulties could arise? The settlement building was clunky and cumbersome in Fallout 4. Fans hope that the building will improve in Fallout 76.
The building system in Fallout 76 leaves it open whether a building can simply be constructed on a flat surface and then dragged into the mountains, or whether the “junk” ends up in an endless grind.
3. Bethesda wants to offer a massive game world with plenty of content
Bethesda has a preference for open-world titles. Titles like Fallout 4 and Skyrim score points with the freedoms that players have in the worlds.
So it should be in Fallout 76 as well – only significantly larger!
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: The game world of Fallout 76 is said to have enormous dimensions. It should outmatch Fallout 4 by four times. The game world will be set in the hills of West Virginia.
Fallout 76’s recreation of West Virginia is intended to be as detailed as possible, including local myths and monsters playing a role in Fallout 76.
The players will be the first to re-enter the world after the nuclear war. From Vault 76, America is to be rebuilt, one of the first bunkers that was supposed to open after the atom bomb.
Fans have already been able to reconstruct a map and localize some places, like Vault 76, which is likely to be located west of Morgantown. However, there is still no official map available.
What difficulties could arise? Since the game world in Fallout 76 is going to be huge, the question arises as to how they plan to ensure sufficient variety without human NPCs.
Will other players be enough if there are no bustling cities or settlements where you can interact with NPCs?
4. Story and quests should not be neglected – despite the absence of NPCs
In Fallout 76, there will be no NPCs to talk to – except the Overseer, whom you won’t get to see. The only humans in the game world will be other players. This point raises considerable skepticism and causes many fans to doubt the scope of the online shooter.
Nevertheless, there should be sufficient story and life in the game world.
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: Since the game world of Fallout 76 is enormous, you will not constantly encounter other players. On a server, there will be 24-32 players, whom you will always be able to see on the map.
These players are intended to take on the role usually performed by human NPCs, building settlements, trading, and interacting with one another. Since humans are more unpredictable than AI-controlled NPCs, surprises may occur more frequently.
Additionally, as is familiar from Fallout, there will be numerous computer terminals and tape recordings with which you can interact. Robots will also roam the game world. This is how Fallout 76 wants to tell its stories and quests.
What difficulties could arise? The unpredictability of players can be both a blessing and a curse. You can never know how players will act. It could very well be that some groups will intentionally hunt others.
Additionally, without human NPCs, there is a risk that solo players could quickly become bored.
5. Fallout 76 aims to give you as many freedoms as possible
You can basically create jobs and pursue them. Do you want to lead a settler’s life, or wander the lands?
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: If you feel like it, you can simply trade with other players. To do this, you can open a shop in your settlement and bring your goods to the public. Because equipment cannot simply be stolen by killing other players.
Therefore, it is possible to buy valuable equipment from other players. You can also mimic a traveling merchant by packing up your settlement and changing locations.
However, you should be cautious, as your shops can apparently be looted if you are not careful. You can also take it upon yourself to hunt bounties. Or even other players. The choice is yours.
What difficulties could arise? A shop brings you relatively little if no players come by your server to shop. Hence, it is not guaranteed that your business will actually thrive.
It may also happen that no one plays PvP, and you could be temporarily unemployed as a bounty hunter.
Again, the unpredictability of human players is both a blessing and a curse.
6. A comprehensive character system for RPG fans
As is traditional in all Fallout games, Fallout 76 will have the SPECIAL system. The SPECIAL values are your main attributes and determine which abilities your character can utilize.
With each level-up, you receive a skill point, which allows you to increase these values. Depending on which SPECIAL attributes you upgrade, you can then equip certain corresponding perks.
This is how Fallout 76 intends to provide a comprehensive development of your character.
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: Unlike in Fallout 4, you no longer set your perks through skill points that you receive through level-ups, but rather via special cards. You receive a perk card with each level-up, and later every 5 levels an additional card pack with several random cards.
The cards are always assigned to one of the SPECIAL attributes and can be freely attached and removed. Each perk can also be upgraded. You only need an identical card. Additionally, the cards can be shared with other players.
Depending on how you increase your attributes and which perks you choose, you develop in different directions. For example, by focusing on charisma, several perks that support the entire group become available. Thus, you can grow into the supporter role, provided you have the right cards.
With the sheer variety of different skills, players can freely experiment and find their own style. We have listed all previously shown perks for you.
What difficulties could arise? If you want a specific perk, you need to be lucky. Bethesda somewhat counteracts this with the packs, as you receive perks that you may not necessarily have had on your radar.
Or one of your teammates draws the desired card and shares it with you. Such systems can cause frustration for some, particularly because it is said that there will be numerous perks in Fallout 76.
7. Survival elements should be relatively harmless
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: The survival elements should merely support the gameplay and not cause frustration for the player. You won’t need to run to a water source or eat a chocolate bar every few minutes. Likewise, crafting should be kept relatively moderate.
However, you will need to regularly drink and eat to survive. Two interface bars should indicate how hungry or thirsty you are. Fallout-typical elements such as radiation, mutation, illness, alcoholism, and drug addiction will also have an impact on your behavior.
Upon dying, you will not lose your equipment as is typical in other survival games.
What difficulties could arise? Survival elements are complicated. If they are too hard, players who are not survival fans may quickly feel put off or pressured.
If they are too mild, they could be considered superfluous, as they would have no significant impact on the gameplay. Thus, Bethesda must carefully consider how to achieve balance.
8. Mod support and private servers for solo players – after release
Fallout and The Elder Scrolls are known not only for their vast game worlds but also for their incredibly active modding community being one of the most important factors in the games. So it’s no surprise that many fans are asking for mod support.
Mods should also be possible in Fallout 76.
Here’s how they plan to achieve that: At QuakeCon, Todd Howard of Bethesda spoke about mod support for Fallout 76. He mentioned that it would be considerably more difficult to ensure this, as it is no longer a purely single-player title.
Unfortunately, they will not manage to enable mods in Fallout 76 at release. However, it is definitely on the to-do list.
Private servers are also planned. On these, players will be able to play solo, and mods will be supported. However, it is unlikely that this will be ready at release.
If Bethesda sticks to these promises, it would likely make a huge difference for many fans. If you are not a fan of the multiplayer concept, you could simply play solo on your own server or only with your own friends.
What difficulties could arise? Mod support on public servers will likely be impossible. They would jeopardize the balance and could disrupt game mechanics.
Thus, it is likely that no mods will be allowed as long as Bethesda does not enable private servers.
We are definitely excited to see what the final picture of the game will look like. In the beta starting in October, you will get a first look at Fallout 76.

It’s up to you who has to pay for Cayde-6’s death first
The Forsaken campaign will have a non-linear mission structure. How you organize your quest for revenge and which villain you take down first before confronting Uldren, is up to you.
Each of the 8 Barons must be hunted and taken down to get to Cayde’s killer. At a certain point in the story, there will be a kind of list that must be checked off name by name. The ultimate goal of confronting Cayde’s killer remains constant. However, how you get there is up to each Guardian.
The Fortnite star Ninja serves as a hook for discussions: women in gaming or Sony’s refusal of crossplay. Both topics are closely related to the US gaming site Polygon, believes our author Schuhmann. They cleverly exploit the popularity of Fortnite and Ninja to deliberately construct outrage.
What happened? Last Thursday, Samsung introduced its new phone. Samsung had previously struck a deal with Epic: Fortnite Mobile would run exclusively on Samsung devices for a few days.
At the edge of the event, Twitch star Ninja appeared. He conducted an interview with the US site Polygon. In this interview, however, the discussion was not about Fortnite, the game Ninja is known for, but about other topics.
Topics that surprisingly fit well with Polygon’s profile.
Who is Ninja? Ninja is Tyler Blevins. A guy who has been on Twitch for ages. The hype around Fortnite has brought him to the top and earned him 10 million followers on Twitch.
Who is Polygon? Polygon is a US gaming site that prefers to cover “left”, “cultural”, and “political” topics:
women in gaming
minorities in gaming
LGBT topics
and similar
Additionally, Polygon made the topic of “Sony and Crossplay” such a central issue in June and July that it feels like the authors wanted to tear down Sony’s blockade themselves. However, the topic has noticeably cooled down in recent weeks.
Two stories developed: From the interview with Ninja, Polygon created two articles:
The first was “Fortnite Streaming Star Ninja says Sony blocks PS4 crossplay due to greed” – the story came out on August 10 (via Polygon)
The second was: “Ninja explains his decision not to stream with female gamers” – from August 11 (via Polygon)
Both stories fit perfectly with Polygon. But which one will prevail and win?
“He doesn’t stream with girls” is a hit, “Sony greedy” flops
How did both stories go over?
Ninja’s statement about Sony’s greed has almost completely fizzled out. Hardly anyone commented on the topic; apparently, people had grown tired of reading about Sony’s evil deeds.
Ninja’s view that Sony refuses crossplay for monetary reasons wasn’t anything new either. We had already heard and understood that a couple of months ago.
The story that Ninja doesn’t play with girls to avoid the inevitable rumors has caught fire and is the big topic surrounding Fortnite in recent days. Almost every gaming site in Germany reported on the topic, even general interest media picked it up.
Here you can see how the German gaming press addresses the topics
Polygon itself wrote two follow-up articles:
How streamers react to Ninja’s decision not to play with female streamers – from August 13 (via Polygon)
Ninja responds to criticism of streaming with women – also from August 13 (via Polygon)
The original article by Polygon regarding Ninja’s refusal to stream with women has 640 comments. In comparison: The one about Sony’s refusal to play with other consoles has only 44.
Clicks, Links, and Trouble
What can be seen here?
Firstly: “Oh, he could be sexist” beats “Oh, he says something bad against Sony” by a long shot.
The interesting thing here is how Ninja and Fortnite are being used to set the agenda for topics that align with the interests of a gaming site. Polygon does not want to talk about gameplay but rather other things. Specifically about Sony’s crossplay and women in gaming.
Better culture than gameplay
Win-win for both sides? Surely there were countless other things in the interview that could have spun into stories. For example, how the hell Ninja sees the cursed game that made him so famous. But gameplay does not fit Polygon. “He doesn’t play with girls” does.
Ninja does not determine what is discussed here, but serves as an instrument to occupy topics. Whereby he is not a victim here, but can be criticized for being aware of this to further strengthen his brand.
Clever, but also kind of creepy
Powder keg topic: That the statement “He doesn’t stream with girls” is a powder keg that could inadvertently ignite a sexism debate should be clear to everyone, including the authors at Polygon.
Under the latest news on GameStar on the topic, comments are disabled; they fear too much moderation effort.
Clever but artificial: These are the topics that are meant to be discussed, according to Polygon. And a lot of clicks and links from other sites bring such articles, which strengthens their profile.
So: Cleverly done, Polygon. But it is somewhat frightening how artificially and deliberately such topics can be brought to the fore. And how well it works.
Last weekend, a special Boss Blitz event took place in Guild Wars 2. Players had to defeat 5,000 bosses together and received rewards. The event hooked them, and now they want more.
What is Boss Blitz? The Festival of the Four Winds is back and very popular. During the event, players can participate in various activities and win numerous prizes. One of these activities is the Boss Blitz, where they have to beat bosses one after another.
Work together and be rewarded
Let’s kill monsters. As an event within the event, the Boss Blitz Lucky Fountain took place last weekend. Players were supposed to kill a total of 5,000 bosses. Upon reaching the goal, a reward awaited them. The players achieved the target already on August 11, one day after the event began.
ArenaNet responded by increasing the required bosses to defeat first to 7,500 and, once that number was reached, to 10,000. But even the 10,000 bosses were soon defeated, and all participants could enjoy additional rewards.
The concept was well received by the players of Guild Wars 2. So much so that they can easily envision extending the event to other areas of the game. The community is actively making suggestions on Reddit:
Players should prevent 2,000 centaur sieges within a week.
Or they should kill 10,000 mobs within a specific time.
A particular boss must be defeated 10,000 times within a week.
According to the players, such events would create a reason to visit older areas as well. Players would roam through the expansion areas of Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns more often.
Players want weekly events
Weekly rewards. But why stop at kill events, thinks another player on Reddit. He suggests that Guild Wars 2 should have weekly events. These are his suggestions:
Raid weekends: If players complete a certain raid wing 3 times, they receive all the rewards it contains.
Dungeon weekends: Within a specific dungeon, items drop more frequently, or players receive more tokens.
World boss events: If a certain number of players participate in a world boss, it drops new, extremely rare items.
“We need new content, not events”
New content is being demanded. However, some players doubt that this is the right way. In their opinion, ArenaNet should focus more on new content and not rehash already known things. In their eyes, this is just another step towards “Life Support”.
Other players believe that we must not simply forget all the existing content. It is important not to “throw away” this content. After all, developers cannot deliver new content fast enough.
What do you think of weekly events in Guild Wars 2? Would you revisit old content because of them?
In the USA, a librarian invested huge sums into a free-to-play mobile game. To pay for the microtransactions, he embezzled money and forged invoices. He has now been convicted.
Librarian loses job: Adam Winger was the director of the North Logan City Library in Utah, USA. He resigned from this position in 2017.
The reasons for this are quite bizarre and are related to the mobile game Game of War.

Game of War is a rather complex strategy game that supermodel Kate Upton once advertised. In the game, you build buildings and armies. A lot of time passes before they are finished, unless you pay real money.
Over $80,000 sunk into mobile game
Winger was apparently a big fan of the mobile game. He splurged enormous amounts in the game. In the end, it is said that the library director spent over $89,000 in Game of War.
All stolen! That alone would be bad enough, but much of it was not even Winger’s own money. To finance his hobby, Winger misappropriated a lot of entrusted finances.
That cost over $80,000.
He used, among other things, his city-issued credit card to buy vouchers for real currency in Game of War through various Amazon accounts.
Virtual empires instead of books: To cover his tracks, he forged invoices so that no one noticed he was buying vouchers for online games instead of library equipment and books.
Career, house, and retirement gone because of Kate Upton’s game
Court passes sentence: In the end, Winger’s scheme was uncovered, and he was charged with theft and forgery. The verdict was passed this week:
Adam Winger, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 100 hours of community service. He also has to pay back $78,000 in restitution.
Trade prison for house: Winger was actually able to come up with this huge sum because he drained his retirement fund and sold his house.
However, in the end, he was spared from prison. The life of 38-year-old Winger is likely ruined for now.
And all because of a mediocre freemium game with Kate Upton.
Recently, the Iron Banner in Destiny 2 has received some changes, including a new power play rule. However, this rule reveals a fundamental weakness. Numerous fans are now calling for a revision.
Weeks before Forsaken, the last Iron Banner of Season 3 is currently in full swing in Destiny 2. With the recent start of the one-week PvP event, two new features were introduced:
Iron Temple campfires now replace the regular control flags
There is a new power play rule: If all three zones are captured, they will be locked for 20 seconds. At the end of the power play, all zones are reset to neutral and must be recaptured.
The new power play rule is currently facing significant criticism because it has a fundamental flaw. Some Guardians even prefer to jump into the abyss rather than fight their opponents. But why?
Best way to counter power play is to stop playing
What is power play? During an Iron Banner Control match, it is now possible to force a power play if a team manages to capture all three control zones. Then the zones are locked for 20 seconds, and the team in power play can earn the maximum score for kills during this time.
What is the problem with power play? The problem is: The best thing one can do against a power play in its current form is to stay away from the opponent or hide to deny them as many points as possible.
Because the team in power play can accumulate massive points with each kill for 20 seconds. In the regular control mode, one is still forced to take action to end the opponent’s power play – even if it risks giving the opponent even more points.
In the Iron Banner, however, there is nothing more one can do to mitigate this advantage. With each death, valuable points are given to opponents during this period while no real objective is pursued. Avoiding the opponent and simply denying them as many points as possible for the duration of the power play seems to be the optimal strategy for many players.
This has even gone so far that many Guardians prefer to jump to their death during the 20 seconds rather than face their opponents. Because even though hiding or retreating sometimes works, most maps in 6v6 are too small for that. Some players claim that the main reason for a victory or for reversing a match was that they successfully avoided the opposing team during power play while the latter was hunting with activated Supers.
How can power play be improved? Many fans are now calling for a revision. There are also plenty of improvement suggestions from the community. Some suggest that power play should grant 10 or more points for the team account instead of locking the zones. Others say that a reduction of the time lock would already be sufficient. There is also talk of some kind of objective that, when captured, would lift the entire lock.
Other players are calling for a penalty system for those who jump into the abyss multiple times. It is conceivable that a jump to death could be penalized with a point for the opposing team, increasing the respawn timer, or being kicked out of the match after repeated offenses.
From now on, a free demo of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is available for download in the Nintendo eShop for Switch. In the demo version, you can hunt a total of three large monsters: Great Maccao, Barioth, and Valstrax
What is Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate? Monster Hunter Generations is the fourth main installment of the series before Monster Hunter World. The Ultimate version is released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch and introduces the G-Rank to the game.
This means there are even stronger monsters to hunt. In G-Rank, many hunters experience the “true” endgame.
Hunt 3 large monsters in the free demo version
We will briefly introduce the monsters here.
Great Maccao
Description: The Great Maccao is a bird wyvern and is known for using its strong legs to kick. Thanks to its muscular legs, this monster can also make a quick sprint.
Its spiked tail is used by the Great Maccao to catapult itself into the air and to make further jumps. Its greatest weakness is the fire element.
Barioth
Description: The Barioth is a flying wyvern and resembles a cat. This monster is covered in ice plates and belongs to the ice element as well.
The Barioth moves smoothly and quickly. It uses its wings to attack from the air. Even experienced hunters fear its long claws and fangs. With its tail, the Barioth can execute wide, sweeping attacks that trigger a status effect. The Barioth is weak against fire and thunder.
Valstrax
Description: The Valstrax is an elder dragon enveloped in shimmering silver scales. The Valstrax is a torpedo in the air and zooms through the sky at lightning speed. This is aided by the dragon element it emits from its wings. Its wings are special as they can change shape, thereby influencing the Valstrax’s attacks.
When will Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate be released?
There will also be new hunting techniques that feature touchscreen support. Hunting techniques are super moves that provide you with more variation in combat and specialization. You can also become a Palico and hunt monsters.
How does Monster Hunter Generations differ from Monster Hunter World? This is a version prior to Monster Hunter World. So there are fewer comfort features, and the game is a bit clunkier. You can read more about this in our special:
Fortnite (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) has encountered some issues with Patch 5.21. The game is no longer stable and crashes more often. In the Save the World mode, it is even worse. However, Epic is already working on a solution.
Patch 5.21 brings issues: The highly anticipated Update 5.21 unfortunately introduced a nasty bug along with the new heavy sniper rifle. Since the patch, Fortnite: Battle Royale has been crashing more frequently.
This frustrates many players. In the Save the World mode, it is even worse, where crashes have been plaguing players since the start of Season 5.
The problem is known, will a solution follow soon?
Epic has identified the problem: As soon as the first complaints arose, Epic already responded. In a tweet, the developers informed the player community that they have already identified the problem. Now they just need to fix the bug and deploy a hotfix to the servers.
This is supposed to happen as soon as possible.

Sarcastic remarks about the bug: Until then, fans are showering social media and forums with snarky comments. The new heavy sniper rifle is likely to blame, as its enormous firepower seems to be breaking the server stability.
Or the servers are so shaky because worlds collide in Season 5. This can lead to crashes.
What about Save the World?
PvE mode in crisis for weeks: Crashes and crashes are not an exclusive problem of the Battle Royale mode. The PvE mode Save the World has been plagued by crashes for some time. This is particularly annoying, as you often spend a long time working with a team on a mission and invest resources in PvE.
When a crash occurs and either you or important teammates get kicked out, you miss out.
Epic is collecting data for bug fixes: Therefore, fans of the PvE mode have been complaining in the forum for a while now and hoping for a remedy. Let’s hope that Epic also quickly identifies and fixes the crashes in the PvE mode.
At least in the forum, the developers have promised help and are collecting data from affected players.
According to analysts from the Cowen group, pre-orders for Battlefield 5 are expected to be extremely low. There are fears that the online shooter Battlefield V might face a similar fate as Titanfall 2: Sandwiched between two major titles, Titanfall 2 was left out in 2016.
Pre-orders reportedly low: As explained by the analyst group Cowen according to the Wall Street Journal, current pre-orders for Battlefield 5 are not looking good. Exact numbers are not provided, but Cowen states that this could be related to the release date. However, these are not official figures from EA.
Battlefield 5 in a Release Sandwich? This echoes Titanfall 2
Battlefield V is caught in the middle of a packed release window:
The release date of Battlefield V is sandwiched between two highly anticipated games by fans: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on October 12 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26. There are fears that Battlefield 5 is facing a fate similar to that of Titanfall 2 from 2016.
What happened to Titanfall 2? The shooter Titanfall 2 was released on October 28, 2016. Electronic Arts hoped for sales in the range of 9 to 10 million copies in the first year. However, the company later had to admit that sales figures did not meet expectations.
Analysts stated that the reason for this was that Titanfall 2 was released between the shooter giants Battlefield 1 (October 21, 2016) and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (November 4, 2016). Even the developer later said: Titanfall 2 should have sold better, but there were likely too many high-profile titles in the same release window or too aggressive pricing strategies.
Is Battlefield 5 facing the Titanfall 2 fate? The Call of Duty series sells excellently each year, and many fans are eagerly waiting to get their hands on the new installment Black Ops 4. And Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to hit like a bomb, considering how successful GTA 5 is and how many players are waiting for a new Rockstar game and another installment in the Red Dead series.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 aims to bring fresh wind into the genre with a focus on multiplayer and an interesting battle royale mode called “Blackout“.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has a sort of special status since it is the first Rockstar game since GTA 5 from 2013.
In comparison, a new Battlefield seems like the fifth wheel on the wagon. Because it doesn’t appear to offer that much new content.
How is Battlefield 5 performing on Google Trends?Even if it gets a battle royale mode, interest in this title is reportedly the lowest among the three mentioned. This is also confirmed by global search interest on Google Trends:
Possible reasons for the reportedly weak pre-orders
What factors still play a role in the low pre-order numbers? There are more reasons why Battlefield 5 is currently not resonating well with players compared to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
There was quite a bit of criticism before the game’s release, especially regarding its setting. This is not 100 percent historically accurate. Female soldiers and hook hands, exaggerated action… everything feels more like an alternate reality and an over-the-top action movie. Many Battlefield veterans felt discouraged by this.
The alpha revealed some things that players did not like very much. The shooter felt more like Battlefield 1 in a different scenario. Basic innovations were genuinely missed, balancing was off, and some new features like reloading ammunition were deemed pointless by some players.
What do you think? Does Battlefield V really face the fate of Titanfall 2 or is Battlefield too big and an established brand for that?

With the new Niantic Kids platform, children are to be supported while playing Pokémon GO. The platform is intended to provide important features for parents to better control their children’s accounts.
What is Niantic Kids? This platform gives parents the opportunity to manage their children’s account privacy. This is intended to work for Pokémon GO and possibly other games from Niantic.
Niantic Kids – What does it bring to parents?
Parent Portal: The Niantic Kids platform provides parents with a portal where they can make important settings. This includes the permissions of children in Niantic games like Pokémon GO. Before children play, parents can check the permissions and allow or disallow certain activities.
Data Protection: Parents can also choose which personal data is shared in Pokémon GO.
Child Safety: This new platform was developed by the Niantic team in collaboration with SuperAwesome. This is a kidSAFE program that focuses on the safety of children.
What advantages are there? This ensures that children’s information is protected while they enjoy the game.
Trainer Club: If the child is currently logging in with a Trainer Club account at Pokémon GO, this will still be supported with Niantic Kids.
Can children under 13 trade through this?
What does this mean concretely? In the community, people are now asking which features parents could allow or disallow for their children. After all, there are some restrictions.
Accounts of children under 13 currently cannot see sponsored PokéStops. The friends feature and trading do not work for accounts of too young players.
No details so far: Niantic has not yet explained which functions and features the new platform will affect. It is conceivable that parents could activate friends and trading functions for their children. It is rather unlikely that sponsored stops can be displayed for their children due to likely legal hurdles.
The online shooter Realm Royale was considered a promising competitor to Fortnite and PUBG. On Steam, it launched a few weeks ago with some fanfare. However, recently the title has lost a tremendous number of players. But why is that?
Realm Royale in a downward trend
Massive player loss; In June 2018, Realm Royale launched its Early Access phase with more than 104,000 concurrent players according to Steamcharts. In the last 30 days, only about 14,000 peak players remain. In August, Realm Royale even reached only 9,000 peak players.
Source: GitHyp
Average players fell from 32,811 (in June 2018) to 6,328 (in the last 30 days). And the numbers are continuously weakening. These are huge losses.
The reviews on Steam also show a strong negative trend. Fans are annoyed.
Players find: Realm Royale has been “patched to death”
What will happen to Realm Royale? Fans agree: Realm Royale was a good and unique game at launch that brought fresh air to the battle royale genre.
However, the developers’ recent decisions seem to some fans as if they are developing Realm Royale without considering the wishes of the community. The critical fans have the impression that the developers are neglecting the things that made the shooter unique.
This leads to Realm Royale finding fewer and fewer followers.
The playground has been available in Fortnite: Battle Royale for some time and is one of the most popular modes. Instead of just shooting at each other, you can use the playground creatively. We show you a collection of the best mini-games that you can enjoy with your friends for hours!
For many, the playground is the ideal place to hone their skills: Whether it’s improving your building skills or mastering various weapons. In the playground, you can do whatever you want.
You can also explore the locations, practice escape routes, and memorize the locations of treasure chests. Basically, you can play with and against your friends. However, the playground can be used much more creatively than just attacking each other.
On the platform Reddit, players have submitted their ideas for mini-games. We want to present the best ones here.
Mini-Game 1: Hide and Seek (2-4 Players)
Hide and seek? Sounds trivial and boring? Not at all!
This is how the mini-game “Hide and Seek” works: Choose a larger city like Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park, or Retail Row. The seeker gives the other players 1-5 minutes to hide.
The seeker must now find all players. Those who are found can be shot down and switch to the seeker’s team. Once all hiding spots have been found, the next round starts.
The first person found is the seeker in the next round (you can of course change the criteria).
The best place to hide: Tilted Towers
This way, you get to know the cities better: Hiding spots will also help you when things get serious again.
Mini-Game 2: Destruction Derby (2-4 Players)
Sounds hard? It is! At the same time, it’s a huge amount of fun. The player with the most stylish kills wins. What this mode could look like in reality is clearly illustrated in the following video.

This is how “Destruction Derby” works in Fortnite: Each player needs a golf cart for the Destruction Derby. You can find these in various locations on the map.
Now, you build an arena high above the map together. Equip the arena with bounce pads and holes to increase the difficulty.
Your goal now is to throw your opponents out of the arena using only your carts. It’s a great fun! The last player remaining on the platform is the winner!
Mini-Game 3: Capture the Flag (2-4 Players)
This is how you play Capture the Flag in Fortnite: In this game mode, you form teams of 1v1 or 2v2. Since there are no flags in Fortnite: Battle Royale, choose any item to serve as a flag (for example, the Port-a-Fort).
Make sure that both teams have roughly the same conditions in terms of materials and weapons. The goal now is to steal the Port-a-Fort from the enemy base and bring it to your own base.
Could serve as a flag: The Port-a-Fort
Where you position your base on the map is up to you. You can also individually determine how you build your base. Do you want to place traps and bounce pads around your flag? Have fun!
Mini-Game 4: Humans vs. Zombies (2-4 Players)
This is how you play Humans vs. Zombies in Fortnite: This cool mini-game can be played in different teams. Whether 1v3 or 2v2 is completely up to you. The showdown of human versus undead follows fixed rules:
Depending on the number of living players, the undead have 50HP, 40HP, or 30HP with three players. Likewise, humans only have a hand cannon available.
Zombies have full health, their pickaxe, and a jetpack.
Build a gigantic amusement park somewhere that will serve as the arena. Generally, humans are only allowed to edit wooden structures, while zombies can destroy them. Interaction with stone and metal is not allowed.
Zombies in Battle Royale? You make it possible!
Every human killed by a zombie switches sides and can now also wreak havoc as an undead. The last living human wins.
Mini-Game 5: Sniper Shoot-Out (2-4 Players)
This is how you play Sniper Shoot-Out in Fortnite: Build a gigantic dome that is closed on all sides. Place bounce pads and ramps everywhere to fly around as much as possible. The goal of the game? Eliminate opponents only with a sniper rifle from the hip.
Sounds hard? It is! At the same time, it’s a huge amount of fun. The player with the most stylish kills wins. What this mode could look like in reality is clearly illustrated in the following video.

Many players in World of Warcraft are desperately searching for the NPC to turn in a emissary quest. We reveal where this is possible.
Those who have already unlocked world quests in Battle for Azeroth on Zandalar and Kul Tiras might face a small problem today. Because the daily emissary quest is for the “Champions of Azeroth.” This faction has spread its world quests across both continents and has hidden its quest giver a bit.
Where to turn in the quest: Anyone who has completed 4 missions for the Champions of Azeroth can turn in the emissary quest afterwards to Magni Bronzebeard. However, he is neither on Kul Tiras nor on Zandalar, but has still set up his camp in Silithus, from where he looks at and tries to heal the wound of the world.
How to quickly reach Magni? Although Silithus is far away from the actual adventures, the journey there is quick. Because in the portal room of Boralus and Dazar’Alor, there is a portal that leads directly to Silithus and right in front of Magni’s feet! Convenient as the dwarf is, there is also a portal ready that leads back to the new areas.
What does reputation with the Champions of Azeroth bring? In addition to various rewards at the armorsmith, reputation with the Champions also brings an important side effect. With the increase in reputation levels, your Heart of Azeroth is upgraded by a proud 15 item levels each time. This bonus is in addition to the increase you receive from collecting artifact power (Azerite). Thus, the Heart of Azeroth becomes especially powerful.

15 years of waiting: Nintendo players had to wait this long to play a Blizzard game on a Nintendo console again. Blackthorne, The Lost Vikings, and Rock ‘n Roll Racing were the titles back then on the Game Boy Advance or earlier consoles.
Blizzard’s action RPG was released back in 2012 on PC and was rolled out on the PS4 and Xbox One in the following years.
Update August 16: Blizzard has officially announced Diablo III with a trailer on the Switch:
