In Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) a huge purple cube has recently appeared. It has been rolling through the map at regular intervals since then. However, it now also leaves runes and creates an anti-gravity field!
What happened so far: The players of Fortnite – especially the streamer Ninja, who discovered it for the first time – were quite surprised when suddenly a massive cube appeared in Fortnite at Paradise Palms on August 24.
Otherwise, the cube did nothing, other than slowly charging the shields of anyone nearby. However, if you attacked or touched it, you would be pushed away.
Cube Generates Anti-Gravity Field and Runes
News from the cube: Since August 28, 2018, the cube has been doing something more. It now creates a large, visible zone around itself where decreased gravity exists.
So, like a permanently acting Hop Rock, which existed in Season 4. The usual cube effects like shield regeneration and reflected damage still occur.
The Mysterious Cube Rune
The cube writes something: Additionally, there is another new cube effect. The cube now seems to leave strange rune symbols. At least, one can see such a glyph at the bottom of the cube.
Rune only in replay mode: Currently, the rune can only be seen when you fly into the dark interior of the cube with the drone camera in replay mode and hover down to the ground. There, one clearly recognizes the rune inscription.
What do the runes mean? The cube runes do not resemble the known Scandinavian runes, as you find them in the Viking village, among others.
Rather, the symbols appear on the cube itself, albeit much smaller. What they mean is still unknown.
According to data mining, there are supposed to be other runes that appear at certain times. In total, there are supposed to be 7 runes.
The music scene in Lord of the Rings Online is struggling with problems. The new spam filter causes them to fall silent during their performances. A simple solution to the problem doesn’t seem to exist.
The spam filter in Lord of the Rings Online is supposed to stop gold spammers and griefers. However, the activation of the spam filter also affects members of the music scene of the MMO, even though they are doing nothing wrong. Finding a solution to the problem is not so easy.
Singers have a hard time
Singing prohibited: Lord of the Rings Online has an active music scene. Every class in the game can grab an instrument and start playing. Bands of players meet in-game and hold concerts. During these concerts, singing naturally occurs as well. This takes place through the game’s text chat. Watching players can sing along.
However, song lyrics often consist of similar or even the same word combinations. This activates the game’s automatic spam filter. As a result, the singers may be unable to write for 24 hours. The gig comes to an abrupt end.
A gamemaster can manually free individual players from the ban, but that does not protect players from finding themselves wordless at a concert in the future.
“We can’t have multiple definitions of spam”
Singing becomes spam: In the related forum thread, a developer speaks up. According to the developer, it would not be so easy to draw the fine line between spam and repetitive song lyrics. Repetitive song lyrics would, by definition, be spam. This cannot be defined in various ways.
The problem is the /say channel: The spam filter itself is not the problem. If players are prevented from spamming messages in the global channel, it aligns with the interests of many players. Musicians only use the /say channel for their performances anyway. Yet this channel is also monitored by the spam filter.
Practicing is prohibited
Practicing alone is spam: Unfortunately, there is only one global implementation for the /say channel. The system does not differentiate whether the channel is used in one’s home, a solo instance, or the busy town of Bree. This leads to the strange situation where players are banned even though they quietly practice their music pieces without disturbing other players.
Therefore, the musicians of Lord of the Rings Online demand the lifting of the ban for the /say channel. However, according to a developer, the spam filter for the channel cannot be removed because it is frequently misused by griefers.
No easy solution
Good advice is expensive: There seems to be no easy solution to the dilemma. Musicians want to use the /say channel as unrestricted as possible. Publisher Standing Stone Games, on the other hand, wants to put a stop to gold spammers and griefers.

The publisher is considering a manual system. Musicians would then be manually freed from chat restrictions. While this would solve the problem for musicians, players who want to sing along at a concert would still be subject to a chat ban.
As many expected, this is not the samurai from the cinematic, but rather his victim. Rin is the daughter of the murderer from the video and is depicted in the game in a gruesomely macabre way. She is a walking corpse that has been hacked into several pieces. Her body parts are loose and sometimes fall apart. Additionally, she twitches and spasms convulsively – a gruesome sight that strongly reminds one of horror films like “The Grudge”.
The abilities of The Spirit
The Spirit has a unique ability that resembles the traits of the Wraith and the Nurse. With a right-click, she can switch to spectral mode. After a brief channeling, she enters the spirit world and leaves her body, which remains in place. She can move freely around the map and reappear at another location with a button press or when the timer runs out, striking instantly. Survivors do not see this “spirit run”.
However, there is a catch (Haha, pun…): The killer cannot see the survivors during the spirit run either. Only after appearing are the survivors visible again. Only scratch marks can be seen in the spirit world. He has to guess where the survivors are – for example, at a generator.
After the ability has been used, it has a medium cooldown of around 15 seconds.
In this video, you can see some gameplay of The Spirit:

The killer comes with three of his own perks as usual:
Hex: Haunted Ground: Two active totems appear on the map. If one of the two totems is cleansed, all survivors are inflicted with the “Exposed” effect for 40 / 50 / 60 seconds, causing them to go down with a single hit. The other totem immediately becomes an inactive totem.
Rancor: One survivor becomes the killer’s obsession. Each time a generator is fully repaired, the obsession sees the killer for 5 / 4 / 3 seconds. Each time a generator is fully repaired, the killer sees all survivors for 3 seconds. Once all generators are repaired, the obsession receives the “Exposed” status effect (goes down with a single hit) and can be killed by the killer (Memento Mori effect).
Spirit Fury: Each destroyed pallet increases the power of the Entity. After 4 / 3 / 2 pallets have been broken by the killer, the next pallet that stuns the killer is instantly destroyed by the Entity. The killer is still stunned.
The new survivor perks of Adam Smith
The new survivor is Adam Smith. He also comes with three of his own perks.
Diversion: The perk activates when the survivor stands in the killer’s terror radius for 45 seconds and is not in a chase. Once the perk is fully active, the survivor can throw a stone to a location within a radius of 10 / 15 / 20 meters. The stone creates a loud noise that is shown to the killer. After that, the perk becomes inactive and needs to be recharged.
Deliverance: After the survivor safely rescues another survivor from the hook (meaning they do not go down again within 20 seconds), the perk activates. The survivor now has a 100% chance to free themselves from the hook the next time they are hanged. However, this triggers the “Broken” effect for 100 / 80 / 60 seconds, preventing the survivor from being fully healed.
Autodidact: The survivor starts with a penalty of -20% on progress for a successful skill check when healing other survivors. Each successful skill check grants a token, up to a maximum of 3 / 4 / 5 tokens. Each token grants a bonus of 20% on progress for a successful skill check when the survivor heals other players. Great skill checks are not possible with this perk.

A week before the launch of Forsaken, Bungie made some vital changes to Destiny 2 with Update 2.0.0. However, this also came with some inconveniences for players, which have now been listed in the official forum.
The latest update for Destiny 2 has brought some changes and prepared the game for the upcoming release of Forsaken. However, some players are reporting issues that Bungie has compiled along with general information in the official forum.
About Quests, Mods, and Missing XP Displays
In a post, the developers have gathered bugs and inconveniences that Guardians may encounter after Patch 2.0.0. Some of these should be fixed with an upcoming patch, while players will have to wait for the launch of Forsaken for other complications.
As of now (August 29, 2018, 9 AM), the following issues have been recorded:
Cayde’s Spicy Noodle Soup: Players who had the milestone for the quest “Cayde’s Spicy Noodle Soup” before the update can no longer complete the quest. With Patch 2.0.0, the ramen shop no longer issues coupons.
Infusing Armor: Players who only own the base game and the DLC “Curse of Osiris” will not be able to infuse their Sundial Armor into other armor pieces with Forsaken.
Quests: After the new patch, players may receive an error message stating that they can only track four quests when selecting a quest.
Vault: Players with many items in their vault may encounter problems with displaying and loading descriptions. This issue should be resolved with the launch of Forsaken.
Transmat Preview: Players may encounter visual issues with the preview of transmat effects, where the character’s appearance is not displayed correctly.
XP Not Displayed Correctly: As some players report, they do not see XP gains when completing activities and fighting enemies. According to Bungie, this is only a visual issue; players should still receive their experience points.
Furthermore, Bungie released some information about significant changes that players will encounter with the new update:
Xûr: The Vendor of the Nine will no longer sell the item Three of Coins with Update 2.0.0. The coins can be dismantled into Legendary Shards after the launch of Forsaken.
So that you are not judged: With the latest update, the Trials of the Nine are going on pause and will be revamped. The trophy or achievement cannot be obtained during this time. Bungie intends to comment on the future of the PvP mode at a later time.
Weapons and the Post Office: With the change in weapon slots, some of your weapons may have been shifted. If you can no longer find certain weapons in your inventory, they may have been moved to the Post Office. Make sure to free up enough space in the Post to avoid losing any of your weapons.
Lastly, there is information about changes and bugs related to weapon and armor perks:
Perk “Triple”: The perk “Triple,” which can be found on the Hand Cannon Grim Promise, will continue to restore one round from reserves on precision hits until September 4th. However, with the launch of Forsaken, the perk will change and provide Guardians with free ammunition.
Perk “Herd Decimation”: The perk of the exotic grenade launcher Lion’s Roar still indicates that the weapon generates energy ammunition on kills. After Update 2.0.0, however, the weapon will receive primary ammunition from Year 2.
Perk “It’s Getting Hot”: The perk of the exotic Titan gloves Ashen Wake indicates that fusion grenades explode on impact and gain a faster throw rate. However, this is not correct and will be changed in the future.
Guild Wars 2 is constantly adding features that many other MMORPGs have had for a long time. However, some things are still missing. Jürgen asked the developers from ArenaNet about housing, fishing, and the new story at Gamescom 2018.
ArenaNet’s unusual online role-playing game has always been known for doing many things differently. For example, there were no mounts, no fishing, no pure healer class, and no housing in the game.
Interview with ArenaNet at Gamescom 2018
By now, at least the mounts are in the game, but as we pointed out in another article, there are still a few features missing in Guild Wars 2 that many fans are eagerly wishing for. Therefore, I asked Game Director Mike Zadorojny about it at Gamescom 2018.
Housing and Fishing
Mein-MMO: “Will there be housing in Guild Wars 2?”
Mike: “Currently, there are no plans for housing. We are looking at the forums and know what players want, but we have to see that it fits optimally into our game.”
Mein-MMO: “What about the next addon? It sounds like you’re saving housing for that.”
Mike: “We won’t necessarily wait until the next addon to introduce a new feature. Season 4 will follow directly after Season 5. If we find a cool new feature for an episode, we will just introduce it at that time. Like the roller beetle last time.”
Mein-MMO: “Another feature that many MMOs have and that many players appreciate is fishing. While you can shoot fish directly in the water with a harpoon in Guild Wars 2, what about classic fishing? Will that come?”
Mike: “Many people at ArenaNet also want that. But it’s like housing; we’re looking at it, but we can’t say anything specific about it right now. However, we won’t just copy other games; we want to try to do something uniquely Guild Wars-style.”
We don’t want to add something to the game just because everyone else has it. We want a new feature [like housing or fishing] to have a meaningful place in our game and to be done in our own style.”
ArenaNet on “Convenience Features”
Mein-MMO: “Will there be a better system to save builds in PvE and PvP?”
Mike: “There is currently nothing new on this, but we will implement it when it fits into our concept.”
Mein-MMO: “When do you decide something fits into your concept?”
Mike: “We spent 18 months just on the mounts. When we build something new, we do it right, so that it feels like it’s part of our game.”
Mein-MMO: “Many players also wish for queues when they want to switch instances. Is there anything new on that?”
Mike: “That is related to our server architecture. It will still take time before we can change that.”
More Mounts and Storytelling
Mein-MMO: “What about new mounts? Is it over after the roller beetle?”
Mike: “Each mount must meet a different need and fulfill a different function. Where is the puzzle that this mount solves? It has to feel alive. The mounts have each filled a specific gap in gameplay that only they could fill.”
So we have to ensure that each new mount represents a new form of horizontal progression.”
Mein-MMO: “Will there be more personality for our hero, the Commander?”
Mike: “The story is constantly evolving. We don’t want players to miss parts of the story because there are branching narratives. In Episode 1 of Season 4, there were consequences depending on whether you allied with Joko or the Sun Spear, or remained neutral. The following battle had different participants.”
When will Cantha finally come?
Mein-MMO: “What about Cantha? Will the story eventually go there?”
Mike: “When we have a cool story, we will bring in certain regions. It’s always a balance between the places we already had back then and new, unused regions, like the Charr homelands or the lands east of Ebonhawke. We never say never [to Cantha], but it has to make sense in the story.”
Jürgen’s Conclusion from the Interview:
It seems that Guild Wars 2 will focus even more on the living story and its episodes and seasons in the future. A major addon has not been confirmed, and it seems there won’t be one in 2019, as ArenaNet is starting Season 5 immediately after Season 4 without any expansion in between.

The upcoming episodes of Seasons 4 and 5 are likely to contain a lot of story and possibly bring some significant gameplay feature. It’s quite possible that there could be a housing or fishing episode in the story.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix held the “Eorzean Symphony” concert in Dortmund. Our Final Fantasy expert Irie attended the event and shares her impressions with you here.
Music has a strong influence on people’s memories and emotions. I notice it myself every time I hear music from one of my favorite games and immediately want to play the game again.
As a big fan of gaming music, visiting the FFXIV concert “Eorzean Symphony” was a must for me.
The concert itself was divided into two sections, each covering the music from the base game “A Realm Reborn” and the first expansion “Heavensward”.
Goosebumps, Tears, and Excitement
Different feeling than ordinary classical concerts: Video game concerts differ from their conservative siblings in one important aspect: The audience does not just come to these concerts to listen to beautiful music.
The familiar music from the game evokes memories of the beautiful, sad, and exciting moments that one could experience alone or with friends. This makes the experience all the more precious.
This nostalgia moved the audience to tears during the Eorzean Symphony concert of FFXIV. At the same time, there were also comments like “The music is really great, but God, that boss was annoying. Do you remember?”.
For many, it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
For fans and just music lovers: I, too, had to say goodbye to my makeup at the latest after the third piece “Breaking Boundaries” because I cried like a baby.
The piece played a significant role during the shutdown of Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, which I attended. It conveyed to me the perfect mixture of despair over the hopeless situation and the determination to keep fighting.
In addition to the music, scenes and cutscenes from Final Fantasy XIV depicting specific relevant story segments were shown on the big screen above the orchestra, which further enhanced the nostalgia effect.
But even spectators who had no emotional connection to Final Fantasy XIV were obviously moved. An older couple sitting behind me said after the concert that they were very impressed by the quality of the music and the audience’s reaction to it.
Relaxed Atmosphere
With jokes and good mood: The atmosphere of the concert was pleasantly relaxed. The show was conducted by Naoki Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy XIV himself. Together with composer Soken and localization lead Koji Fox, Yoshida made jokes and spread good mood among the fans.
You could tell that the musicians of the “Neue Philharmonie Westfalen” orchestra initially didn’t really know what to do with the show and the unusual audience. Even the staff at the Dortmund concert hall said that “Eorzean Symphony” was the first video game concert held there.
However, after the first half and a lot of applause, the musicians visibly warmed up to the audience.
The conductor was something special: My personal highlight of the show was the conductor Alexandra Cravero.
She was incredibly energetic and almost constantly danced. You could tell she loves and lives this music. I found myself watching her more than the videos on the screen several times.
From left to right: Composer Masayoshi Soken, Singer Susan Calloway, Conductor Alexandra Cravero, Producer Naoki Yoshida
More Video Game Concerts Needed
Video game concerts have an audience: Eorzean Symphony is just one of the good examples of why we need more video game concerts. In recent years, their number has slowly but steadily increased.
Shows like “Video Games Live” by Tommy Tallarico or “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” show that there is indeed an audience for this type of entertainment.
Square Enix has been taking advantage of this fact for years with their countless Final Symphony and Distant Worlds concerts.
The quality of the music is high: I would also incredibly love to experience pieces like “Journey” from Destiny 2, “Ezio’s Family” from Assassin’s Creed, or “Ending Staff Roll” from Tales of Symphonia on a big stage.
Many great composers are now involved in the development of video games, from Nobuo Uematsu to Clint Mansell. They are talented men and women whose music belongs on stage. I therefore really hope that other big publishers will follow this trend and hold their own concerts.
I want to cry even more.
If you want to learn more about the composer of Final Fantasy XIV, read our interview with him:
Fortnite has presented its plans for the next few months. Epic is working on a mode for eSport. This could become “Ranked Play.” Epic is making vague statements about weapon balance and is giving something to the PS4 Pro.
Epic has made a broad announcement in a large developer blog about a variety of topics. We present to you the intentions for the next months from Fortnite.
Weapon Balance: For the weapon balance of Fortnite, Epic gives a “Hmm, let’s see.” In general, they seem to believe that shotguns are now too weak and need to be strengthened.
They will therefore revert some of the changes they previously tried as nerfs. The aim is to make equipping shotguns faster.
It sounds like shotguns are on the way up. Meanwhile, they view submachine guns as strong and look at them more critically.
Epic’s general stance on weapon balance is: “We are monitoring this and will react if we deem it necessary.”
Building Balance: Epic is keeping an eye on “building” and plans to make changes if necessary.
Here, they initially weakened the materials, then strengthened them again. Epic is working to ensure that wood, stone, and metal clearly differ from each other.
Players should make tactical decisions about which material to build with.
PS4 Pro: Epic will soon distribute a small goodie for the PS4 Pro. Players with the PS4 Pro will have the opportunity to raise their resolution above 1080p when connecting their console to a 4K TV.
New Competitive Mode in Planning – Will It Be Ranked Play?
eSport Mode Coming: Epic is anticipating an “eSport” mode for the fall. It should be “robust.”
What exactly players can expect here, Epic is not revealing yet. Some are expecting a “Ranked Play.” At least it sounds as if a new, permanent mode dedicated to eSport is coming.
Exactly how the competitive mode in Fortnite will look is not yet known. The idea is:
The best players should prove their skills
All players should be able to compete against each other
And performances should be recognized
Epic seems to place particular importance on the spectator mode, which they are working on.
$8 Million Tournament as an Expensive Learning Phase
This is what Epic says: Epic states that experiences from the “Summer Skirmish” have been extraordinarily valuable in finding a balance between entertainment, simplicity, complexity, and performance.
This is what Epic means: After the first few weeks, in which the tournament went catastrophically for Epic, it has now significantly improved. Previously, there were huge difficulties with mode, presentation, and performance.
Gradually, Epic has gotten all these issues under control. The last few weeks have been interesting and entertaining tournaments for everyone involved.
Most recently, Epic made great progress in eSport:
A new skin in Overwatch is now available. But beware! The “Nano Cola” skin and other rewards for D.Va are only available for a limited time.
In recent months, Overwatch has repeatedly held various promotions in collaboration with Twitch to attract more viewers to the hero shooter. Now there’s a new event where players can earn rewards. Part of these rewards can be earned by playing, and another part by watching on Twitch.
When does the event take place? The “D.Va Nano Cola Challenge” takes place from August 28, 2018, to September 11, 2018 – exactly two weeks.

3 wins: Two new D.Va spray logos
6 wins: A new player icon
9 wins: The “Nano Cola D.Va” skin
What rewards are there for watching streams? Those who watch various Overwatch streams can unlock up to eight new cute spray logos in the “Chibi” style featuring D.Va. The corresponding spray logos can be seen in this graphic:
To claim all rewards for watching the streams, you need to follow the corresponding Overwatch streams for at least eight hours. It is important that you have linked your Battle.net account with Twitch.
The complete list of streams participating in this offer can be found on Blizzard’s official page.
Whether the skin and other rewards will be available again at a later date is currently unknown.
Currently (until August 30) the Summer Games are also taking place in Overwatch. So if you are working towards the rewards, you can also snag the special loot boxes from the Summer Games on the side.
Have you secured the new items yet? Or are you not interested in the “Nano Cola” event at all?
From now on, the Artifact Knowledge mechanic is active in World of Warcraft. Your Heart of Azeroth levels up faster now – we explain how this works.
Even with Battle for Azeroth, much revolves around Artifact Power in World of Warcraft again. Instead of supplying an Artifact weapon with power, this time it’s about the necklace “Heart of Azeroth” that unlocks new abilities in your gear. To make collecting Artifact Power easier over time, the Artifact Knowledge system has been activated as of today (August 29, 2018).
What does Artifact Knowledge bring? Artifact Knowledge increases every few months the rate at which you collect Artifact Power. This is a catch-up mechanic that allows newcomers (as well as veterans) to unlock new levels on the Heart of Azeroth faster.
How does Artifact Knowledge work in BfA? With Battle for Azeroth, Artifact Knowledge works differently than in Legion. The amount of Artifact Power gained does not increase; instead, you need less Artifact Power per level. Each level now requires 23% less Artifact Power, which ultimately results in an approximate speed increase of 30%.
What do you need to do for the unlock? Artifact Knowledge is automatically active globally on all characters. You don’t need to complete a quest or advance any research; the whole process is completely automated.
Less Artifact Power when logging in: Anyone logging into World of Warcraft today will notice that in “naked numbers”, your Heart of Azeroth now has less Artifact Power than before. The percentage of the level-up remains the same. So if you had previously 50% of level 19, you will still have 50% of level 19 after the server maintenance, even if the pure numbers have gone down. Overall, this is still an increase as you now need less Artifact Power than before.
In the coming weeks, the Artifact Knowledge will increase further.
In Destiny 2, today, August 28th, is the last Weekly Reset before the Forsaken expansion. Fresh activities, like the Nightfall strike and Flashpoint, are live.
The servers are back online! This evening, Bungie deployed Update 2.0.0, which is set to pave the way for Forsaken. For this, the developers carried out several hours of maintenance. The maintenance is now over, the servers are back online – the last week of Year 1 has begun.
The “Solstice of Heroes” event has now concluded, and the Trials are taking a break indefinitely. Update 2.0.0 has now ushered in a kind of “transition week” until Forsaken launches on September 4th with new adventures in tow.
What can I do during the transition week?
You can check out the new weapon system from Update 2.0.0
You can clean up your Postmaster, which may have some of your weapons due to the weapon slot changes
You can try out the new heroic missions
You can hunt down the escaped prisoners from the Prison of Elders. However, they will only start dropping loot from September 4th and will appear in the open world and in Strikes.
You can finally delete your shaders in bulk
You can familiarize yourself with the new Navigator overview
And then you can kill time until the Forsaken release with the weekly activities that have now been reset. These tasks are set for you by the new week.
Note: In the milestone overview, only the clan XP milestone is displayed.
Nightfall Strikes Starting August 28th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
Since Update 2.0.0, you can choose between three Nightfall strikes. This week, there are:
The Pyramidion
Tree of probabilities
Unknown Terrain
to choose from. The recommended Power is 270.
No modifiers are active in the normal Nightfall strike. The Prestige mode is disabled this week.
Heroic Strikes?
Heroic Strikes cannot be found under the strike overview. However, there are legacy strikes with the recommended power level of 200.
Heroic daily story missions are now available. Modifiers are Solar Burn, Glass (health and shields are halved, but regeneration is twice as fast) and Brawler (melee recharge is faster and deals more damage).
Cayde-6 has left the Tower to investigate disturbances in the Reef. Therefore, there is no Flashpoint and no treasure maps with him. The Flashpoint is now on Mars with Ana Bray.
A Senior Game Producer from World of Warcraft talks about the fascination of the MMORPG. He casually explains why new MMORPGs struggle to compete against WoW.
At Gamescom 2018, we had the opportunity for an interview with a Senior Game Producer from WoW, Michael Bybee.
The community is a strength of WoW
We asked Michael Bybee why even large publishers like Riot fear comparison with World of Warcraft and might even forgo a new MMORPG. After all, Riot Games believes, it is not a good idea to want to measure up to WoW.
The players are the strength of WoW: Bybee said in the interview that WoW is so successful because players can be found at any time.
“That is one of the great strengths of World of Warcraft. Maybe I can’t play it for a long time and explain everything to you, but I have friends who will teach you [the game]. That makes the game such a rich, profound experience,” Bybee said.
Players gather for the “Death March” – a large community, even on private servers.
WoW has 14 years of advantage over new MMORPGs
The magic of World of Warcraft: WoW has been around for 14 years and has consistently delivered new content since its release. According to Bybee, the challenge for every MMORPG is to provide enough content to stay alive.
Bybee mentions Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street from Riot Games in his response, who could bring the required experience for a LoL MMO. Michael Bybee: “He has worked on World of Warcraft, he knows exactly what the game is about.”
Bybee further states: “One of the big challenges for any MMO is: We have 14 years of game content, history, and people who have played the game, built a bond.” However, he also emphasizes that he would be happy about similar games from other developers:
“I think it would be great if other companies pursued something like that. I personally would be thrilled to play such games. I love MMOs. But I think World of Warcraft has pretty great magic when it comes to finding people to play with.”
Guild Wars 2 is turning six years old and is celebrating its birthday with an exciting video and interesting facts from the MMORPG. Guild Wars 2 showcases the most popular mounts and the most dangerous bosses. Additionally, there’s information about the upcoming Season 5.
Guild Wars 2 has been enriching MMO fans for 6 years. A good reason for ArenaNet to look back at the time that has passed and to recap the experiences. To this end, publisher ArenaNet has released some data from the game.
Guild Wars 2 has been played for almost 120,000 years
Loyal player base: Although the game is only turning 6 years old, Guild Wars 2 players have spent a total of 119,431 years of gameplay in the game.
Since the release of Guild Wars 2, there have been 22 special events in the game.
The size of the game client doubled from 20GB to over 40GB.
The favorite mount is the Raptor, with 7.3 million ride hours, followed by the Griffin, with 4.3 million ride hours.
The fiercest opponent is the Earth Djinn. You don’t want to mess with it.
The least dangerous monster is the Bog Skale. You really have to try hard to be killed by it.
You can check out more interesting data at the end of the article.
What’s next for the Living World?
Season 5 will be nostalgic: In the video, ArenaNet announces that it will transition directly from Season 4 to Season 5. There will be no expansion before Season 5.
Players can still expect new areas, gameplay-changing mechanics, a raid, and a new fractal in Season 4.
The refuge of the Sun Spears is coming: Part of Season 4 will also be the refuge of the Sun Spears. This is a personal character instance. Players can rebuild the area, unlock NPCs for it, and equip it with rewards.
Today marks the start of the early access phase of the battle royale shooter Fear the Wolves. We will explain how you can join in.
Fear the Wolves is a new battle royale shooter that aims to bring fresh air into the genre with PvE elements. You will learn how that works today if you join the launch of the early access version on Steam.
Early Access Begins
Battle Royale with Werewolves: Fear the Wolves is essentially a battle royale shooter where you fight against each other on a large but steadily shrinking game field until only one player remains.
However, dangerous wolf mutants are making the area unsafe. You will also have to fight these beasts.
Additionally, dynamic weather and suddenly appearing dangerous radiation anomalies ensure that you constantly need to adjust your tactics. Radiated areas have to be explored with protective clothing for useful loot.
Start of the Early Access Phase: On August 28, the early access phase of the online shooter begins after it was recently postponed due to feedback from beta testers. The developers state that they have now implemented this feedback.
How to Join: If you want to play, you can buy the early access version for €19.99 on Steam. The early access is now live. Then, you can download the client directly through Steam and get started.

Developer Insight: The fine-tuning of Destiny weapons and abilities is intrinsically linked to the systems that underpin everything. Ultimately, our goal is to continue providing a challenging gameplay experience, even as the damage dealt has generally increased through the newly introduced systems. Raids
Developer Insight: With these changes, our goal was to provide players with opportunities for heroic moments where they can lead a fireteam to victory at the end of a boss encounter. Players should still be able to revive their teammates as quickly as possible, but now there is the chance for a player to take down the boss while all others are down.
Revival Mechanics:
A fireteam has a total of 2 minutes and 30 seconds to revive fallen teammates during a Raid boss fight
This time only resets if a fireteam is completely eliminated
If a player is not revived within the remaining time, the entire fireteam is wiped under the title “Shared Suffering”
Each player has a token that can be used to revive one player
If multiple players are eliminated at once, the timer does not expire faster

Today, August 28, 2018, the big update 2.0.0 for Destiny 2 has been released. The patch already introduces some Year 2 features and paves the way for the Forsaken expansion. Here you will find all the important information regarding maintenance, server downtime, and patch notes.
Today, you can expect long maintenance times and downtime. With Update 2.0.0, the preparations for Forsaken begin today. This way, you can enjoy some long-awaited Year 2 features a week before the release of the major fall expansion on September 4.
Update August 28, 7:15 PM: The update 2.0.0 is live and can be downloaded. On PS4, it is a whopping 35.5 GB (PC nearly 36 GB and Xbox nearly 34 GB).
The second year of Destiny 2 is ushered in by two downloads
The first download comes today, August 28, and includes update 2.0.0. It also serves as the preload for Forsaken. A large part of the data will likely land on your hard drive today.
The subsequent update 2.0.0.1, which appears on September 4 – at launch – is the day-one patch for the Forsaken expansion.
These innovations await you on August 28 with update 2.0.0 for Destiny 2
The following features will be available to all Destiny 2 players starting August 28:
Sandbox Changes
As Bungie has already announced, numerous changes will also be made to the sandbox today. You will get a first overview in the patch notes preview.
Changes to Weapon Slots
New Slot System: The new weapon slots will already be introduced today. They will be available to all players. All important information can be found here:
In this context, a new ammunition economy is also being introduced to support the Year 2 weapon slots.
Make space in the Post Office: During this transition phase, some weapons will change their slots. All firearms that no longer fit in your inventory will be sent to the Post Office. So make sure you have a free Post Office if you want to avoid potential loss of some weapons. Year 1 slots with weapons that are being moved will remain empty until you equip another weapon.
Shifts of existing weapons: Some power weapons will become kinetic weapons in the second year. Furthermore, the elemental damage of Year 1 weapons will be finally determined. You can find more information here:
The following exotic power weapons from Year 1 will remain as exceptions in the power slot:
D.A.R.C.I.
Legend of Acrius
Tractor Cannon
Whisper of the Worm
Also important: Exotic weapons will lose their +5 power mod in preparation for Forsaken. All other legendary and exotic items will lose their +5 power mod starting September 4.
Updates for Milestones and Challenges
Today, initial changes will also be made to the weekly milestones and challenges. You can find more information here:
The extent to which these adjustments will be active today remains to be seen.
By the way: At the same time, the Navigator – that is, the planets and milestone overview – will also be adjusted. Numerous activities will be removed from the task list and instead displayed in the Navigator when they become relevant. Furthermore, the strike scoring in Nightfall is disabled until the release of Forsaken.
Heroic Story Missions
With update 2.0.0, daily heroic story missions will make their entrance into the game. You can find more information here:
It will now be possible to delete multiple shaders at once. However, the mass deletion will likely work differently than many guardians imagined. It will apparently be possible to delete shaders in batches of 5 and not the total amount of a specific shader.
Vault Expansion
The vault capacity will be increased by an additional 200 slots. Thus, the guardians will have 500 slots available in the vault.
You should also note this for update 2.0.0
As update 2.0.0 begins a transition phase to Forsaken, some things will not work as usual:
Collections are disabled: The collections of exotic weapons, armor, and emblems are being disabled with patch 2.0.0 and will return in an updated form starting September 4.
Tooltips may display incorrect descriptions: Some tooltips may not reflect the actual item behavior during the transition phase from August 28 to September 4. So don’t be surprised if some things function differently than described.
The Solstice of Heroes is coming to an end: With update 2.0.0 and the weekly reset on August 28, the celebrations surrounding the Solstice of Heroes will come to an end. However, you can still complete related tasks even after the Solstice of Heroes if you want to make your legendary Solstice armor into a masterpiece.
However, you must already possess the legendary solstice armor (radiant), as the statue of heroes is no longer present and thus the previous sets can no longer be upgraded.
The triumph moments will also end on August 28.
Destiny 2: Maintenance, Downtimes, Server Downtimes on August 28.
With update 2.0.0 for Destiny 2, maintenance works will also take place today, August 28, 2018. There will be several hours of server downtime. So if you planned a long Destiny evening, you probably won’t get your money’s worth.
Schedule of Maintenance:
6:30 PM:
Players will no longer be able to sign in to Destiny 2
Destiny companion app, equipment, and clan features will not be available on Bungie.net, mobile devices, and third-party apps during this time
6:45 PM:
Destiny 2 will go offline due to maintenance. All players will be brought back to the main screen
At this point, the Solstice of Heroes will also end. The triumph moments will no longer be available
7:00 PM:
Destiny 2 update 2.0.0 will be available on all platforms and in all regions
Destiny 2 will remain offline for maintenance – until approximately 11:00 PM
11:00 PM:
Estimated end of Destiny 2 server maintenance
Players will be able to sign back in to Destiny 2
Destiny companion, equipment, and clan features will be reactivated on Bungie.net, mobile devices, and third-party apps
Destiny 2 – Patch Notes for Update 2.0.0
Here you will find the complete English patch notes for update 2.0.0:
In Destiny 2, Bungie launched a strange lore event on Tuesday evening: Texts around Cayde-6 and Petra Venj are being published. They seem to be flirting with each other.
Strange tweet: Shortly after the launch trailer for Forsaken was released, Bungie surprised everyone with a curious tweet.
In the tweet, Bungie simply wrote:
“GAMMA//TWO//TWO//YELLOW//RUBICON High Priority Message—Outbound—5560 Amytis PETRA VENJ EYES ONLY//AMETHYST PROTOCOL”

If you follow the link in the tweet, you arrive at a message from Cayde-6 addressed to Petra Venj on the Bungie site. The message is said to be for Petra’s eyes only, as stated in the subject.
What does the message say? It is a “satisfaction survey,” where Petra is to answer how thoroughly Cayde and his six compadres captured the barons. The response options are:
With unbelievable perfection
Hymns are already being written about their triumph
So thoroughly that I finally want to admit that I’m in love with you, you hot metal man
“But seriously,” Cayde writes afterwards. “You’ve got more problems than just eight barons. And according to Mansanas’ current report, a splinter group of the Red Legion has set its sights on turning the Reef into a nice vacation spot.”
Cayde then suggests that he would like to come out to the Reef again and do some patrols. After all, he is always looking for a reason to get out of the Tower.
What’s the point of all this? Bungie likely wants to tell us that Cayde-6 and Petra had a good relationship – and at least got along well. It sounds like Cayde-6 and Petra are flirting with each other.
From previous trailers for Forsaken, it is known that Petra will help the Guardians avenge Cayde’s death. In this “lore event,” the storyline will likely explain why Petra will support the Guardians.
Is there more to come? Yes, Bungie’s DeeJ tweeted that this is an event that will unfold throughout the day. Cozmo confirmed that this is “just” web lore. Nothing will happen in the game itself; you are only allowed to read a few texts.
Response from Petra
Meanwhile, the second step of this event has arrived. Petra replied: “You must be missing me, right? If you’re looking for another excuse to dodge your Vanguard duties, I’m in.”
Additionally, there are a few cryptic sentences included in this message: “Free orbital Kelvin radiation under latent atmospheric envelope of a binomial traverse. New orbital translation reacts under frontal impact. Venusian orbit normal. Interim latency suggests Yttrium.”
There will likely be several more lore texts over the next few hours. You can keep an eye on this on the official Bungie site.
Update: In a third message, Cayde reaches out to Ikora and Zavala. He informs them that he is going back to the Reef and will stay with his old friend Petra for a few days to help her.
For several days now, players in Monster Hunter: World can fight the hard version of Behemoth from Final Fantasy XIV. A group of players managed to take down the beast in less than 5 minutes.
With its special mechanics, the Behemoth from Final Fantasy XIV breaks many rules in MHW and poses a real challenge for many players. With the release of the extreme version of the Behemoth, Capcom took this challenge to a new level. However, the Japanese players in the video have found a way to defeat the monster in just 4:23 minutes.
The team uses heavy bowguns and special ammunition that puts the Behemoth to sleep. They then bombard the monster with barrel bombs and wake it up with a very rude explosion. During the sleep state, Behemoth suffers additional damage. This tactic is called “Hame” in Japanese, derived from “hameru” (to capture).
Are you currently annoyed by Steam sending you Monster Hunter World notifications? Here’s how to turn them off:
With a little trick, world quests in WoW: Battle for Azeroth are very easy when it comes to pet battles. We will tell you how you can complete them easily.
World quests are the best way to quickly gain reputation with the new factions of Battle for Azeroth in World of Warcraft. However, few players can get used to pet battles, even though these world quests also provide a lot of reputation. Those who don’t own a strong team of pets can now breathe easy – with a little trick, these quests are no longer a problem!
Pet battles scale: The world quests involving pet battles scale with the level of your own pets. If you want to complete a quest, simply choose a complete team of pets that are at level 1. Many quests are thus very easy, as opponents often have only one ability and this usually has a long cooldown. Thus, they are vulnerable to the attacks of your pets.
The level of opponents always corresponds to your strongest pet in the team. If one pet is level 3 and the others are level 1, then all enemy pets will be level 3.
What do the world quests bring? In Battle for Azeroth, the rewards from world quests that include pet battles are truly worthwhile for the first time. The missions grant just as much reputation as other quests in the area, making them a valuable contribution to quickly becoming respected or even reverent with the important factions. In addition to pet rewards, there is often artifact power for the Heart of Azeroth.
Boss fights are excluded: This trick only works against pet trainers – that is, NPCs who battle with three pets themselves. Certain boss opponents that appear alone are excluded from this. They are always level 25 and therefore require a strong team to be defeated.
This is also the perfect opportunity for those who have so far shunned pet battles to get into this system. Because by completing the quests, your pets will gradually level up.
Are you grabbing the rewards from the “Pet Battle” world quests? Or is that nothing for you?

Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, iOS, Android, Switch & Xbox One) offers you a unique skin on Samsung’s expensive Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4: the Galaxy Skin. However, some players have creatively found a way to access the skin without a high-end smartphone.
The Galaxy Skin in Fortnite is likely one of the most sought-after outfits in the game. Only those who install the game on an Android smartphone of the Galaxy Note 9 or Galaxy Tab S4 brand and play three matches will receive the skin.
Demo Devices as a Source
This is how clever players want to get the Galaxy Skin for free: However, not everyone wants to buy Samsung’s new flagship smartphone – it costs about 1,000 euros – so savvy players have found a way to obtain the skin without spending a cent.
They simply go into an electronics store, install Fortnite on the demo devices of the type Galaxy Note 9 and play the mandatory three rounds. A few hours later, they had unlocked their skin on their account without paying a cent.
Dangerous download:According to reports on Reddit, some players actually got away with it. It requires quite a bit of skill: after all, downloading several gigabytes takes a considerable amount of time, and then you still have to play through three games.
The risk is high. Because you can be thrown out by an employee during that time. Then the sensitive login data of the Epic account is accessible to anyone on a public demo device.
Samsung Imposes a Block, Players Find Ways Around It
This is how Samsung wants to prevent the skin from being obtained for free: Naturally, it is not in Samsung’s interest for people to easily acquire their 1,000-euro skin, so demo devices are now equipped with a block. You cannot download games.
Fortnite prohibited!
This is how clever players still manage: However, some players have already circumvented this by simply creating a hotspot with their private phone and bypassing the store’s Wi-Fi block. This way, they seem to have been able to download and play the game anyway.
For some, the block appeared to be embedded directly in the device rather than via the Wi-Fi. So far, no solution has been found for that.
Please do not steal free codes!
Honest customers are angry! The action with the obtained Samsung skins may seem funny to many, but unfortunately, sometimes it is the honest customers who are the victims.
