The game universe of the space online game No Man’s Sky is gigantic. Those who search long enough will find the coolest things. For example, the perfect setting for “The Nightmare before Christmas.”
Exploring the galaxy of No Man’s Sky reveals the most interesting stuff. This is shown by the player Reefguy007, who has discovered something truly extraordinary.
How a movie found its way into the game
Nightmare before Christmas in No Man’s Sky: Who remembers the animated film Nightmare before Christmas from 1993? In the film, which was made using stop-motion techniques, Halloween king Jack Skellington wants to make his town celebrate Christmas, which puts the entire holiday at risk.
The film features an iconic scene with Jack Skellington on a strangely curved hill in front of the moon.
No Man’s Sky player Reefguy007 discovered a mysterious, dark planet during his explorations in the galaxy that immediately reminded him of the film. For on the planet grow strange plants that resemble pumpkins.
A little terraforming completes the scene: Reefguy007 wanted to recreate the scene from Nightmare before Christmas with the hill at a location on the planet. However, he had to do a bit of terraforming to adapt this place to match the film’s model. While he didn’t have a moon for the background, he had a large planet with a ring.
Now, Reefguy007 posed on the hill like Jack Skellington in the film and struck a nice pose. Thanks to multiplayer, he had a friend film him. The result is astonishingly close to the original.
No Man’s Sky is a game full of unforeseen possibilities
Endless possibilities in No Man’s Sky: This action shows how many freedoms and options players have in No Man’s Sky.
It’s worth taking a ride through the galaxy to see what the planets have to offer that you find during these exploration tours. Perhaps many players will now feel motivated to do as Reefguy007 did and start their journeys into space. There is certainly a lot to discover.
The Hunter/Hunted mode integrated into Fallout 76 seems to be a stripped-down Battle Royale mode. At least that’s what the PvP guide released by developer Bethesda suggests.
After some details and first gameplay of PvP in Fallout 76 were recently released, there is now more information about the assassination game, which Bethesda now refers to as the Hunter/Hunted mode.
This is integrated into the Pip-Boy and allows players to search for targets to take down. At the same time, another player is set against you. Bethesda’s new PvP guide now shows that it has several similarities to a Battle Royale mode.
Hunter/Hunted Mode Stripped-down Battle Royale?
This is how the feature works: To start the mode, you need to select it in the Pip-Boy radio. As soon as at least 4 players have joined, it begins.
You receive a target that you need to search for and kill,
at the same time, another player is set against you.
You have one hour to locate your target,
but over time the area gets smaller, bringing you, your pursuers, and your target closer together.
If you kill your target, that target’s target is assigned to you. This continues until only one player is left.
There are similarities to Battle Royale games like PUBG or Fortnite, with a few changes. For example, you have access to your equipment and do not have to gather it during the round. Additionally, you do not need to hunt every participant, but only one target.
What do you get as a reward? You will earn experience points and caps for taking down a target. The more targets you eliminate, the greater the reward. Up to a maximum of six kills.
Are you in the Hunter/Hunted mode on a different server? This is still unclear. It should be the case since the map gets smaller.
This is also a possible explanation for how uninvolved players who do not want to play PvP are not drawn into the hunt. However, there is currently no information on this.
Now there are many details about the size, cities, and special spots in Red Dead Redemption 2. Map leaks are circulating.
Shortly before the release of the highly anticipated western game Red Dead Redemption 2, leaks are increasing.
What’s new? After only a rough look at a section of the map was leaked initially, there are now detailed views from a guidebook.
Spoiler: Here in the article you will get an insight into the map of Red Dead Redemption 2 and places for random encounters.
Complete Map of Red Dead Redemption 2 – Leak
Rough glimpse of the map: Users on Reddit have now leaked images of the map. In this post, user Wave24 shows how huge the map is. Due to the mediocre quality, you can only see rough sections and only a slight spoiler. It becomes clear how vast the open world with its special places is.
Where does the leak come from? It seems that the leak comes from the official guidebook. The section is titled “Places for Special Random Encounters.”.
What can be seen? Important places are marked on the map. There you will find:
How does it all look combined? The 6 leaked detailed shots were then combined into a large map.
That’s why RDR 2 is so big: After the detailed shots of the huge map from Red Dead Redemption, it is clear why the game is so large on PS4 and Xbox One. The preload for Red Dead Redemption 2 is now running – this is how much space the game needs on the drives.
Many fans hoped that they could travel to Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2. With this new leak, it seems that Mexico is not part of RDR 2. You can read comments from disappointed fans saying, “RIP Mexico”.
For alchemists, life in World of Warcraft will soon become easier. Every day they can create Anchorweed to meet the demand. This should significantly lower the prices for flasks in WoW. Raiders are addicted to them.
The rarest current herb in World of Warcraft is probably the Anchorweed. Players with herbalism are searching for it like crazy, as depending on the server, a single plant can be sold for up to 600 gold – a true goldmine. However, with Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance, the price for Anchorweed is likely to decrease significantly.
What is changing? Alchemists can learn a new transmutation in Patch 8.1. They can use other herbs from Zuldazar and Kul Tiras to transmute into Anchorweed.
The production can be done once per day and grants at least 10 Anchorweed (enough for 2 flasks). However, with a proc, more Anchorweed could be gained from the transmutation.
Why is Anchorweed so important? Anchorweed is the basis for all flasks in Battle for Azeroth. In many raid guilds, there is a “flask requirement,” which means the demand for Anchorweed and the corresponding potions is always high. Most herbalists and alchemists are unable to meet this demand, causing prices to skyrocket.
Why is Anchorweed so rare? In almost every expansion, there is an herb that is particularly rare or expensive. Especially at the start of an expansion, farming is the only method to acquire these herbs – a “trader” is still missing. Thus, this is the golden time to make a real profit from the herbs.
Recently, Destiny 2 has kicked off its second year with the Forsaken expansion. However, initial supposed information about the third installment of the series is already circulating. What do the leaks say about Destiny 3?
The Reddit user AnonTheNine is currently stirring up discussion on the platform again. After his leaks concerning the Return of the Thunderlord during the Festival of the Lost, he now shares supposed information about the next installment of the Destiny series.
Warning – Potential Spoilers! Read at your own risk!
This is what AnonTheNine says about Destiny 3
The alleged information is likely to delight many fans of the series, if they are indeed true. Apparently, Bungie continues to cater to the wishes of its core community for Destiny 3.
Destiny 3 development has started: The development of Destiny 3 is reportedly just getting underway, according to the leaker. Game Director is said to be Chris Barret. Luke Smith is also said to play an important role.
Destiny 3 is not for casuals: AnonTheNine claims that if Bungie truly implements its idea of Destiny 3, many players who play for two hours a week will abandon the game.
A whole lot of RPG elements are expected to come— the role-playing aspect is said to be pushed more strongly. The game is expected to become even more “hardcore” than Forsaken.
Guardians use the Darkness: What has already been hinted at in some instances surrounding Destiny might come true. As AnonTheNine claims, Guardians are supposed to use the Darkness in the third installment.
PvEvP Patrol Zones: Moreover, there should be patrol zones in the world where both PvE and PvP are possible. It is said not to be a kind of Dark Zone from The Division. Rather, it will be a battle for territory where PvP has a specific purpose.
Europa
Europa as a Patrol Zone: What Bungie has already planned in the original Comet expansion for Destiny 1 is supposedly being implemented in Destiny 3. Jupiter’s moon Europa will likely become a new location there. AnonTheNine posted a picture of Europa with the words: “Can’t wait.” He subsequently clarified his statement: “D3.”
This is what AnonTheNine says about the future of Destiny 2
The third year of Destiny 2 is also expected to be provided with content through an Annual Pass.
The Thorn is set to return with the premium content “The Joker’s Wildcard” in Spring 2019.
A new horde mode is expected to come with The Black Armory in December. The longer one survives there, the better the loot is supposed to become.
The first raid lair for “Last Wish” is supposed to take place in the EDZ on Earth – specifically in the Old City.
AnonTheNine emphasizes that he has leaked nothing about the return of the Ice Breaker.
The EDZ will receive two new zones – whether the Cosmodrome is already included in this is not known.
When does Destiny 3 come out? Actually, the master plan from Activision already has September 2019 slated as the release date. However, if there is, as the leaker says, a year 3 for Destiny 2, then Destiny 3 would be due in September 2020.
Who is AnonTheNine? AnonTheNine is a Reddit user whose leaks about Destiny 2 earned him significant respect in the community. The community suspects that he has a well-informed source or an insider directly at Bungie.
He has already provided fans with extensive information about Destiny 2 and the Forsaken expansion multiple times – often months before the information was officially released or could be found in the game data. The majority of his information has proven to be accurate down to the smallest detail.
While this does not guarantee that he is right this time as well, due to his previous leaks, it seems that his information is not unfounded. Nevertheless, these are unconfirmed details. Therefore, one should also view this leak with a healthy dose of skepticism.
The tasks for the next weeks for Fortnite are known. In week 5 of season 6, it will mainly be about vehicles and the stunts you can perform with them.
Datamining leak for new tasks: The tasks for week 5 of season 6 are known thanks to datamining. According to the leaked information, this time it’s about kills and vehicles.
Warning, no guarantees: In season 6, the leaks from dataminers have been notoriously unreliable, and Epic has often laid false tracks. This could also be the case in week 5.
The free challenges without a battle pass in season 6, week 5
Record a speed of 25 or more at various radar traps (5): This task is new and could possibly really go online on Thursday.
Especially in Paradise Palms, there are often speed measurements where you can see how fast you are. The task should be easily achievable with golf carts and quad ramps.
Should cause chaos among builders: The quad ram
Jump through burning tires with a shopping cart or an all-terrain vehicle (5): This task was already there in season 5. It might come back. However, the wording suggests that the brand new quad ram is excluded. So it might just be a placeholder.
Deal damage to opponents with the tactical shotgun (200): A rather unremarkable task, but it is quite doable. The tactical shotgun is a good weapon.
For these 4 tasks in week 5, you need the battle pass
Eliminate an opponent from less than 5 meters away (1): You can ideally combine this task with the tactical shotgun and complete two challenges at once.
Otherwise, other close combat weapons like SMGs or shotguns will work, or you can just take out an opponent with your pickaxe, that should also count.
Deal damage to opponents with submachine guns (500): Another unimaginative 08/15 task. Fortunately, submachine guns are common and great for dealing damage.
Eliminate an opponent with the minigun (2): This task is hopefully a placeholder, as the minigun is not exactly good for killing opponents. It’s more for pinning down enemies and wrecking buildings.
Deal damage to opponents with standard pistols (200): This task is likely to change further. Probably, there will also be damage with silenced pistols and hand cannons.
More info on Thursday
Warning, some tasks will certainly change: As is unfortunately usual in season 6, a lot could still change. Some tasks did not appear last week and some of the challenges sound a lot like placeholders.
As soon as the tasks are live, we at MeinMMO will offer the correct challenges and provide comprehensive guides again.
The details of the demo for WoW Classic are known. We will reveal what can be played.
At BlizzCon 2018 and a few days later, all owners of the virtual BlizzCon ticket can dive into a demo version of World of Warcraft Classic. The developers want to show how far they are with the game and how it already feels. Now Blizzard has revealed the scope that the demo version will have.
What is playable? On the Alliance side, the area of Westfall is playable, while on the Horde side, it takes place in the Barrens. All characters start at level 15 for the purpose of the demo, so they already have a few talent points and abilities.
The maximum level is 19, and characters cannot leave the two test areas.
You can create multiple characters, allowing you to try out different classes and professions.
No dungeons will be available, and PvP is only possible through the duel function.
How much can be played? To give all ticket buyers a chance to dive into the game, the time per player will be limited. It may happen that WoW disconnects you after a few hours to allow other players to join. After all, there is no phasing, and the areas could become quickly overcrowded with few servers.
If you log in later, you can pick up exactly where you left off.
The servers will be open at least from November 2nd to 8th.
What has changed since then? Although it is Classic, there are a few changes that come from the new version of WoW. However, these are primarily features intended to facilitate fair gameplay. These include:
The game starts through the Battle.net app
The cross-Blizzard chat is available
Widescreen monitors are supported
Players can be reported by right-clicking
Supportive features, such as the “colorblind mode,” are included
However, there will not be a 32-bit client. After all, the “old” World of Warcraft is based on the current code, and support for 32-bit systems has also been discontinued.
What do you think of Blizzard’s plans? Does that sound good for a demo? Or is that far too little to form an opinion?
As the German company gamigo AG announces, they have acquired the game company Trion Worlds. Trion Worlds is known for MMORPGs like Rift, Trove, and ArcheAge. They also publish Defiance 2050, an MMO shooter, and Atlas Reactor. There were reportedly massive layoffs during the acquisition.
Acquisition announced: According to various financial news services, the German gamigo AG has acquired “substantial assets” from Trion Worlds. As part of the deal, the buyer only takes on the assets with which they wish to continue the business.
The gamigo AG has acquired the majority of the assets and the platform. They will also take on employees from Trion Worlds and receive full publishing rights to the games.
The brands of the games from Trion Worlds will be taken over by a sister company and will be made available exclusively to gamigo AG worldwide.
Here are the figures regarding the deal:
Management expects the Trion Worlds acquisition to generate revenue of $18 million in 2019.
The gamigo AG anticipates a profit of $1 to $5 million before interest, taxes, and depreciation due to synergies and scaling effects.
How much did gamigo pay for Trion Worlds? The amount is said to be in the “low double-digit millions,” meaning more than $10 million.
Who is gamigo? It is a publisher for browser games and MMOs based in Hamburg. They publish games like Fiesta Online or Last Chaos. In 2016 they merged with Aeria Games (Echo of Souls) to become a “new player” in online gaming.
Layoffs at Trion Worlds – 175 out of 200 employees gone
How many remain at Trion Worlds? According to Gamasutra, there was a mass layoff at Trion Worlds. Of the originally 200 employees, only 25 are said to remain now. This information comes from an anonymous source. The figure is not yet confirmed.
This is what Trion Worlds says: Trion Worlds does not provide numbers, but states that “many of the names and faces known from the studio will make the transition, while others will not embark on the journey.”
