Fortnite: Battle Royale has already turned off the tap for dataminers some time ago to eliminate leaks for the “Battle Royale” mode. However, a new leak regarding a holiday skin has emerged, this time from Epic itself.
What happened? Epic released a photo story about their Battle Royale hit Fortnite on Instagram. In this, a skin appeared for a short time that does not exist in the game yet.
Although Epic took the story offline quickly, quick fans managed to capture the leak with a photo. The image has been circulating online since then.
New Elf Skin for Christmas in Fortnite
What kind of skin is this? The new skin is a kind of “hipster elf.” The skin of the woman is in a frosty light blue or turquoise. Her clothing resembles that of a typical Christmas elf from the gift workshop at the North Pole.
The elf wears typical hipster glasses with thick black rims and what appears to be a hand-knitted wool hat. She also has a fringed dress in red and green tones.
On her back, she carries self-crafted wings with spikes resembling icicles. To keep her feet warm in the snug little shoes, there are also a pair of feathered leg warmers and green leggings with a vine pattern.
When will the skin be available and how much will it cost? There is still no official information about the new skin. The release date is thus uncertain. However, the skin looks like a Christmas skin. It is therefore likely that it will be released soon.
The hipster elf looks like she would fall into the “Rare” category. The skin will likely cost 1,200 V-Bucks. That corresponds to 12 euros.
What is so special about it? Epic has taken a stand against dataminers some time ago. These people were primarily responsible for the leaks by extracting game files with certain tools.
By deliberately spreading misinformation in the files, dataminers were meant to be put off. Some leak sites were even legally pursued, although not due to the leaks. With this little slip-up, Epic has now caused a leak themselves.
In a new update, the developers of Skull & Bones reflect on 2018 and look ahead to 2019. The focus of the post about the video is the game’s background story.
This is discussed in the video: The video update from December 2018 primarily highlights the community’s feedback on Skull & Bones. They are especially thrilled by how well the pre-alpha demo of Skull & Bones has been received by the audience, according to Ubisoft. This demo was shown at E3 and Gamescom.
The various gameplay videos thrilled the community. Following the feedback, the developers have particularly advanced their work on gameplay and “Hunting Grounds.”

This is planned for 2019: In the video, the developers promise that there is much more to show. They can hardly wait to prove to the players how far the development of Skull & Bones has already progressed.
2019 will be “even more exciting.”
This is the background to the game
This is the story of Skull & Bones: In a companion blog post to the video, Ubisoft illuminates the background to Skull & Bones. Apparently, we will be dealing with a historically influenced setting.
The post provides a brief overview of the history of piracy:
September 1717: Piracy is at its peak. The Caribbean is almost entirely dominated by pirates. Names like Blackbeard and Captain Morgan are well-known everywhere. Soon after, the British king offers a “Pardon” for all pirates who surrender.
December 1717: The famous “King’s Pardon” has prompted over 200 pirates to surrender. All others are ruthlessly hunted down and destroyed by the British fleet. Some of the ex-pirates become bounty hunters.
November 22, 1718: Captain Blackbeard is confronted by the British fleet and allegedly killed. Piracy is nearing its end.
1720: Anne Bonny and Calico Jack, known as Jack Rackham, are captured and hanged. The pirates of the Caribbean are gone.
Your story in Skull & Bones begins here. After the Caribbean has been “cleaned up”, some of the surviving pirates flee to the Indian Ocean. This is where Skull & Bones takes place.
This is what Skull & Bones will offer: The focus of Skull & Bones is on naval battles with various sailing ships that have special abilities and almost function like classes. More content will always be provided, so that Skull & Bones does not end up like Sea of Thieves.
Our author Jürgen has already played Skull & Bones and thinks it’s great:
For the daily challenge of “14 Days Fortnite“, you need to find holiday trees and dance in front of them this time. We will show you a map with the correct locations for the Christmas trees.
For the Christmas event “14 Days Fortnite“, you have to complete a special task every day. This time, on Day 9, the task is “Dance in front of various holiday trees”. You need to dance in front of a total of nine trees to successfully complete the task.
We will show you a map that indicates where to find some of the trees and explain where exactly you can find them.
Here you can find the Christmas trees in Fortnite
Where can I find the holiday trees in Fortnite? Holiday trees can be found all over the map. We will show you a selection of the trees to give you some pointers. However, there are more trees out there.
Around the trees, you will also find loot or chests that you can loot. So, you also have the chance for good weapons.
What do I have to do? Once you have found the trees, just activate a dance. You have to dance in front of a total of nine trees. So plan a little time for the task.
Here you can find the holiday trees:
Paradise Palms: On the roof of the tall building
Dusty’s Diner: Directly in front of the restaurant
Fatal Fields: Between the two farms, north of the silos
Happy Hamlet: In the southeast of the town
Viking Village: On the deck of the Viking ship
Lucky Landing: At the main entrance of the town
Lonely Lodge: Directly in front of the large building
Frosty Flights: Between the two hangars
Pleasant Park: In the northwest of the town
Tilted Towers: On the basketball court
Retail Row: In the parking lots in front of the stores
Greasy Grove: In the sunken building in the middle of the ice lake
Lazy Links: In the south of the town, near the tennis court
There is also a tree on the Fortnite spawn island where you can dance.
Watch your surroundings: Campers will use these locations to hide. So pay close attention to your surroundings and don’t get caught by an opponent.
The weekly challenges have also been changed today:
In Fortnite, Day 11 of the “14 Days of Fortnite” event has begun. You should thank the bus driver. We take a look at today’s challenge and the shop. Additionally, we show you: This is how to properly thank the bus driver.
Here are the 14 days of Fortnite: This is the Christmas event in Epic’s online shooter. Each day, you can complete a challenge in Battle Royale and immediately earn a reward.
Different time-limited modes rotate, and the Fortnite shop is filled with special Christmas skins.
This is what you should do today: Today’s task, on December 29th, is quite simple: you need to thank the bus driver in 11 different matches.
On PC, you can do this by pressing the “B” key
On PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, you need to press down on the control pad
And on mobile devices, it’s enough to emote – this can be done with the button at the top right of the screen.
In week 4 of Season 7 in Fortnite: Battle Royale you need to launch fireworks three times. Where you set off the fireworks, you can find out here. A map shows the locations.
Update July 4: For the “14 Days of Summer” challenge, you also need to launch fireworks in Fortnite. In this post, we show you the locations:
This is the fireworks challenge from week 4: In week 4 of Season 7 in Fortnite, you need to launch fireworks three times. You can find them at various locations such as The Block, east of Wailing Woods, and south of Paradise Palms. You can recognize the fireworks by a rocket sticking out of the ground.
The locations of the fireworks
After the challenge started, the Fortnite community diligently gathered many different locations where you can launch the rockets. Fortnite celebrity Squatingdog has created a clear map showing you all the locations of the fireworks in Fortnite. We embed the map here for you.
How do I launch the fireworks? To complete the task, you only need to walk up to the rocket and activate it. It will start, and you have partially completed the task.
Warning, danger lurks here: When you launch the fireworks, everyone knows you are there and can attack you. Also, especially in the first hours of the challenge, there will be many people around the fireworks, and it should get quite chaotic.
So be careful and consider landing a bit later at the spot. Then the task should still be solvable, and you can have some peace. Alternatively, you can do the challenge if you have respawns, then it doesn’t matter if you get shot.
The fireworks in the video: If you prefer to see the fireworks in moving images, we have embedded a video for you here. It shows some of the rockets. Have fun!

An Overwatch streamer took on a simple yet impressive experiment: What happens when you mirror the maps from Overwatch? His viewers react disturbed and uneasy.
What happened? The streamer SINotFound played Overwatch on December 28 for his viewers in the live stream on Twitch. However, he simply mirrored the maps. Other effects that distorted the image were also used.

This is how his viewers reacted: The tone in SINotFound’s chat is unanimous, Overwatch fans are disturbed by what they see. In his chat and under his YouTube video, comments such as:
I feel used!
Can’t process
This hurts my brain because it distorts my knowledge of the maps
My brain just exploded after you played Ana with this double mirror thing
Most fans seem to be enjoying the action and celebrate that such a simple trick can play such tricks on them. They even demand that Blizzard implement such a mode as an April Fools’ joke.

Where does the disturbance come from? The reason fans are so confused by the maps is that they know them in their “normal” form. Anyone who plays Overwatch frequently usually has a basic knowledge of all maps and knows paths and routes.
However, when the maps are mirrored, nothing is where it should be. Nevertheless, the maps look similar or even almost identical to their normal state.
This often leads to the feeling that there should be something in a certain position, which is not there. This messes with map knowledge and creates an uneasy feeling of uncertainty.
This is how SINotFound mirrored the maps: Although the streamer plays on mirrored maps, he did not modify the actual maps. As seen later in the video, he simply uses effects.
With certain settings, images on the monitor can be mirrored along certain axes. This creates mirrored or doubled effects.
How do you find the effect?
Another streamer has taken it upon himself to use the most bizarre controllers:
The Free2Play spin-off Ashes of Creation Apocalypse offered you the opportunity to extensively test the MMORPG’s PvP last week. Our author Alexander Leitsch ventured into the game and now reports on his experiences in the Apocalypse.
I was really looking forward to the release of Apocalypse, as it was also my first chance to get my hands on Ashes of Creation. Of course, Apocalypse is not the full MMORPG Ashes of Creation, which I have high hopes for.
But just experiencing the combat system and seeing if the developers can actually create a playable version fueled my anticipation.
Meanwhile, the first game phase is over, and more phases are set to follow in early January. So if you didn’t have a chance to play Apocalypse yourself, this article gives you an insight into the game.
My First Round in Apocalypse
In the first phase, Ashes of Creation Apocalypse only contained one game mode: Battle Royale.
I have been able to avoid most battle royale games so far, even though I was forced to play Fortnite a couple of times. Nevertheless, the game mode did not diminish my anticipation.
The Beginning of a Round: The start of the first match is simple. You enter a game with a button press, land in a queue, and after a few minutes the first round starts, or so I thought.
However, we first landed in a kind of lobby where we could brawl a bit without anyone taking any damage. This lobby was helpful to initially get used to the game, the combat, and movement.
After some time, the apocalypse began, and we were suspended in mid-air after some colorful effects. Riding griffins, I looked for a point on the map where I could land and equip myself.
A Game Without Classes: In Apocalypse, you have five inventory slots for weapons, potions, and armor. The latter can be applied through usage, allowing you to regain the free slot. The style of play is defined by the equipment found.
You can engage in ranged combat and attack other players with bows or crossbows. But you can also use the standard equipped axe, found swords, or hammers to pressure enemies in close combat.
Additionally, you can use staffs and scepters to cast spells against enemies. I only learned all this gradually, as in the first round I quickly found myself in a direct “axe against axe” duel with another player.
I was able to win this, but just before I could collect my loot, another player found me and dealt the finishing blow. In a round of Apocalypse, you only have one life. After that, you can only observe the events from the perspective of the other players.
So the first round was over.
Team Play: Only after a few rounds did I realize that I always have allies. Optionally, I can either sign up with friends for a game or be randomly assigned three teammates.
I cannot harm them and can track them on the map as points. It is best to try to stick together as a group, as that ensures survival for a start.
The End of a Match: In almost all matches, there was a showdown in close quarters. As time goes on, the playing area shrinks since a red circle closes in from the outside.
As soon as you walk through a red wall, you take continuous damage. In one match, the playing field was even completely dissolved. Both players had a small remaining amount of health points at the end. However, one attack ended that round as well.
My Problems with Apocalypse
While the game’s world is really beautiful and varied, I didn’t like many animations in the game from the very beginning. This exacerbated my already existing problems with jumps and combat.
The Combat and Movement System: The cause of my discomfort with the combat system is that attacks consume stamina. And the same stamina that we also use for jumping or dodging.
Simply attacking mindlessly doesn’t work because otherwise, you have to regenerate stamina before you can strike again. This catching your breath quickly becomes a deadly forced pause.
Among the animations, particularly the dodge roll is unusual and not as dynamic as I am used to from Guild Wars 2.
Additionally, you can sprint with your character to flee before a fight. Interestingly, this does not consume any stamina.
The Equipment: Even after several rounds, I still had significant issues with the topic of equipment. Regularly, you find armor and weapons in blue, red, or gold colors.
However, you only learn what these weapons and armor actually do, how much damage they actually cause, or what hidden bonuses they contain once you equip them. It took many matches before I could somewhat confidently swap out equipment.
Additional Content from Apocalypse
The Quest System: To provide a bit of long-term motivation, the developers have come up with a quest system. In it, you will find weekly tasks, such as dealing damage to enemies, defeating opponents, or finding and using specific weapons.
With the help of the Legendary Paths, which can be purchased in the shop, you can also unlock additional weekly quests.
The Shop: Ashes of Creation Apocalypse has a real-money shop with various cosmetic effects. This shop is currently heavily criticized, because the prices are sometimes very high and because it features the aforementioned Legendary Path.
A Problematic Launch
The launch of Apocalypse was originally planned for December 18, but the game really only gained momentum on the weekend after. The developers were hampered by problems with the user database on the new website, as well as server issues.
By the end, however, it was very enjoyable to play Ashes of Creation: Apocalypse.
The connections were stable, and otherwise, we were spared from lags or other major issues. This gives me a positive outlook for the upcoming MMORPG, as they reacted quickly and evidently learned as well.
What is Planned for the Future of Apocalypse?
On January 11, a further test phase of Apocalypse is set to proceed. Initially, only short stress-test weekends are planned. The official release is scheduled for February.
Will there be additional game modes? If Battle Royale as a game mode does not appeal to you, you can look forward to two new additions in the course of 2019:
On the one hand, a fortress mode is planned, where one faction of players defends it. The other attacks the fortress.
Additionally, a coop horde mode is planned, where players will face increasingly stronger waves of enemies together. Both of these are set to be available to everyone within Apocalypse.
Especially the fortress mode is interesting to me, because this will be a core feature of Ashes of Creation and its nodes.
In Monster Hunter World there is a new crossover, giving players a new skin for their gear. True to its origins from Assassin’s Creed, the new skin has been somewhat hidden.
So this is how it happened: The new event “SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce” has been available in Monster Hunter World on PS4 and Xbox One since December 28, 2018.
As a reward for the event, players can earn the skins of Bayek from Assassin’s Creed Origins and Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed 2.
There was already a collaboration brewing back in October, but only now are we learning more about it.
The skins were not announced directly. Instead, the tweet simply stated “Complete the quest to get special materials.” Shortly thereafter, Monster Hunter published a tweet featuring a video of the skins in “Assassin’s Creed” style.

New “Assassin’s Creed” Crossover in Monster Hunter
What do I need to do? To get the new skins, you only need to complete the event “SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce.” The quest requires you to defeat three of the most aggressive monsters in the game in an arena:
Odogaron and Deviljho appear first in the arena. You can lure them quite easily and make them fight each other. Just wait until one of them is dead, and then you can hop into the arena to finish off the survivor.
In the meantime, simply edit both monsters from a safe distance. Special equipment like ballistae and cannons are particularly useful for this. When you engage in active combat, play especially aggressively.
After the second opponent is defeated, Lunastra will appear. Fight Lunastra as aggressively as possible and take her down. If you have trouble, just ask others for help who are also working on the quest.
How do I get the skins? After you have defeated all the monsters, you will receive a feather from Senu, a keepsake from Bayek’s eagle. To obtain one of the skins, you need two of the feathers.
The two feathers can then be exchanged for one of the capes:
PC players have to wait: Currently, the new capes are only available to players on PS4 and Xbox One. In a tweet, it was mentioned that the PC version would receive the update later.
Are you getting the new capes right away? Or do you still need to get Monster Hunter World? If you’re having a hard time deciding:
The first players could challenge the attack form of Deoxys in the EX Raid in Pokémon GO. Many players also defeated the Pokémon alone.
We have already assumed it and the suspicion was confirmed: The new form of Deoxys can be defeated alone. After needing two players for the normal form, you can now achieve the attack form entirely by yourself.
Numerous videos have been uploaded on Reddit showing how easily the new Deoxys can be defeated. We show you a selection of the videos.
It’s so easy to defeat Deoxys alone
How do you defeat Deoxys alone? The mysterious Pokémon is of Psychic type. Bug, Dark, and Ghost are effective against it. The best counters are Tyranitar and Mewtwo.
This is shown in videos: Many players attempted to face Deoxys alone and succeeded. The following video shows that Deoxys can even be defeated easily. Over 80 seconds remained when Deoxys was defeated.

Victory without Charged Attack: Another trainer took the solo attempt to the next level. Completely without a charged attack, the player defeated Deoxys. He used an army of Tyranitars.
There were still about 30 seconds left. There was even room for improvement.

Why is it so easy? The attack form of Deoxys lives up to its name and has an extremely high attack value. However, its defense suffers. Even a Caterpie has better defense than Deoxys. Therefore, the Pokémon is very vulnerable and can be easily defeated.
Can I do it too? In theory, any player can defeat Deoxys alone. Even with a team of Tyranitars from raids, meaning at level 20, you could take down Deoxys solo. If you have a weather bonus, that is, if it’s foggy, even weaker Tyranitars could bring the new EX Raid Boss to its knees.
If you want to win without much effort, take a look at our counter guide for Deoxys:
This is special: Deoxys is the first level 5 raid that can be defeated alone. Moltres was also able to be defeated alone during the Moltres day, but that was only a level 4 raid. Therefore, this is a premiere to conquer a level 5 raid alone.
Many legendary Pokémon have already been defeated in pairs. These include Giratina, Cresselia, or Heatran.
Have you already hatched the new baby Pokémon? With this probability, you get them from the eggs:
The online game Fortnite made Tyler “Ninja” Blevins the biggest streamer in the world. He is planning a huge Fortnite event for New Year’s Eve. But there’s trouble days in advance. Streamers like DrDisrespect are complaining about Twitch, as they are being forced to promote Ninja.
From 10 PM (German time) until 10:00 AM the next morning, he plans to stream for 12 hours. It will probably be a lot about Fortnite, the game that made Ninja so popular. After all, he is the first streamer with more than 10 million followers on Twitch.
Ninja promises some surprises and “special guests” with whom he will stream.
The Twitch star plans to set up a complete streaming setup above Times Square. They are expecting a million visitors on-site. Many New Yorkers traditionally celebrate the New Year at Times Square.
“Never do that again”
Here’s the problem: Apparently Twitch itself wants to promote this event by Ninja and has therefore run ads for the stream on other Twitch streamers’ channels, in the so-called “Pre-Roll.”
They could not remove this advertising themselves, as the ad spots were part of the ad roll that is outside their control.
The streamers are reacting irritably.
So DrDisrespect tweeted: “Dear Twitch, take this ugly New Year’s Eve advertisement off my page. Don’t ever do it again. Never again.”
Other streamers express their problems a bit more calmly. MadtownMaverick says: “If the advertising is outside the site, then it’s okay, but when you’ve planned a New Year’s event, it’s annoying that Twitch pushes ads for someone else’s channel on you.”
However, if Twitch were to advertise the event outside of Twitch, that would be okay.
Other streamers speak of a “conflict of interest.”
Many are probably also bothered by Twitch’s preferential treatment for Ninja. Because the New Year’s event is broadcast on Ninja’s channel and not on a “neutral” Twitch channel that is then advertised.
Twitch is biased here and directly supports the already largest channel of an individual.
This is what Ninja says: Ninja himself commented in a tweet, which he later deleted.
In it, he says that millions of people will watch the event and they will get to know Twitch. This, in turn, would help other streamers gain new viewers.
Ninja asks: What don’t you like? Or is it just me?
Source: Dexerto
Twitch cancels the spots
This is what Twitch says: Twitch has now intervened and pulled the emergency brake. The ad spots are now out. From Hassan Bokhari, the Partnership Account Manager at Twitch, it is said that it is definitely not the fault of a streamer, and one should not blame them for it.
He does not know all the details, but he knows that the ads have now been removed from the rotation.
What about DrDisrespect and Ninja? It is unclear whether DrDisrespect really has a problem with Ninja or if it is part of the role he plays. However, a rivalry seems likely.
DrDisrespect was the face of Twitch last year, and Ninja is that in 2018:
2017 was the year of PUBG and in the course of that, of DrDisrespect on Twitch. In 2017, he won many awards and was considered the new star and new face of Twitch. Like PUBG, the Doctor is also rather “controversial” and a character with edges and corners.
To what extent DrDisrespect has a personal problem with Ninja is hard to say. That could also all be part of his “on-air personality,” which maintains an oversized ego, thinks of itself as the greatest, and much of which is apparently only meant ironically.
Moreover, DrDisrespect has played and streamed Fortnite again in recent days.
However, he has probably been annoyed by the advertising measures for Ninja on his own channel, as many other streamers have as well.
Just a week ago, actor and musician Jack Black launched his gaming channel “Jablinski” on YouTube. He has now reached 1 million subscribers with just one video.
The YouTube channel “Jablinkski Games” by Jack Black was opened a week ago. After just one week, he already has one million subscribers.
Although Black announced the channel as a gaming channel, there are currently only two videos online. Neither of the videos features him playing; they are just an introduction video and a thank you to the subscribers.
A YouTube Channel for Gamers
Who is Jack Black? Hollywood star Jack Black is an actor and musician. With his humorous and down-to-earth nature, he is popular among all age groups and has millions of fans around the world.
What can be expected on the channel? Looking at the name “Jablinski Games,” it suggests that it’s about gaming. However, there is not yet a video where Jack Black himself plays on the channel. So, one must be patient.
In the channel description, it states that it will be about “Games, Food, and Life.” In a comment, Black says: “I want to clarify that there is no production team here. It’s just about my son. He has me hostage, and I’m not allowed to be Tracer. Help!”
What does Jack Black want? In his first video, he challenged gaming giants like Ninja and PewDiePie. He wants his channel to be bigger than any other gaming channel.
However, he has not yet explained which games he wants to play.
When will new videos come out? He announced that a new video should appear every Friday. His next video is expected to be released next year. These will probably be in the actor’s usual humorous style.
Comedy will likely take center stage on the channel rather than gameplay.

What’s next? If Black indeed provides regular content on YouTube, it is quite possible that he will rise to a gaming great. His current videos have already been clicked millions of times.
His channel currently has almost 1.5 million subscribers and continues to grow. If good content follows, the channel could take off. Ninja and PewDiePie may indeed have something to fear, just as Black has announced.
PewDiePie already commented on the video saying: “Delete this.”

Those who use illegal mods and cheat in Fallout 76 should open Word and prepare to write an essay as punishment. Bethesda has now commented on the essays.
In school, one would be naughty, do nonsense, and the teacher would assign an essay as punishment in which one had to explain why it is not okay to mess around during class.
Bethesda is now reportedly taking similar measures against Fallout 76 cheaters.
An essay as punishment
What happened? Currently, there are rumors and indications that Bethesda is banning some players of the online game Fallout 76 for using cheats and mods. According to the user agreements of Fallout 76, it is not permitted to use these things.
What does Bethesda tell the players? Bethesda is allegedly sending a message to banned players with the following content:
“This account has violated the code of conduct and terms of service. It has been determined that the account is running a third-party application that provides an unfair advantage in the game while you are logged into Fallout 76.
If you wish to appeal the account closure, we would accept an essay on the topic “Why third-party cheat software is harmful to an online gaming community” for our management team to review.”
What does this mean? Bethesda gives cheaters the opportunity to lift the ban by writing an essay about why cheat software is harmful to an online game and its community.
In principle, this is a punishment assignment. An educational measure intended to make cheaters aware of what they did wrong.
Fans doubt the punishment assignment
Is this really true? There are currently indications from several players who claim to have received the email from Bethesda after a ban of the game account. However, this has not yet been confirmed by the developer, even though US sites have already inquired about it.
Within the community, there are doubts about whether this punishment assignment was actually demanded.
However, it is not completely excluded that Bethesda is indeed sending these emails and requesting such an essay. Perhaps a community staff member was just having a bit of fun.
How are the players reacting? Fallout 76 players are still debating whether to take the reports at face value. However, there is a feeling that it is childish and “stupid” to write an essay about the negative effects of cheating in an online game.
Bethesda employee confirms punishment essay
Update 28.12. 21:13: Bethesda has now commented on this, and it is indeed true. As the community lead “Gstaff” said on Resetera, it really happened; they required essays.
They do not want players to use Fallout 76 mods or tools in a way that gives them an advantage or negatively impacts the servers or the gameplay experience of others.
They have discussed the punishment assignments at Bethesda and will continue to do so after the holiday period.
In the meantime, the rule is: if you receive a penalty for using a mod, you should contact Bethesda’s support page, and they will review the complaint.
But in the future, they will definitely not require punishment essays.
What’s behind this: It seems that a staff member acted on his own during the holiday season and requested punishment essays. After this has now been debated publicly, they are likely seeking a different solution at Bethesda.
The time between the years is indeed a difficult time for companies as well.
The Fortnite streamer Ben “DrLupo” Lupo raised money for a children’s hospital on Twitch throughout 2018. He and his wife raised over a million dollars for the cause, mainly through Fortnite.
Who is DrLupo? The Fortnite streamer and family man is known for regularly hosting donation streams.
What happened? In 2018, DrLupo set a goal to donate at least one million dollars to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which specializes in treating kids diagnosed with cancer.
DrLupo and his fans raised a total of $365,000 during GuardianCon in Florida in June 2018. Combined with the donations already raised at that time, he reached a total of $611,000.
An additional $140,000 came from the sale of the “Build Against Cancer” shirts.
The final part of the donations was collected by DrLupo on December 23 during a 24-hour stream with his community. On that day, gamers from 85 different countries donated $659,000 to support sick children, bringing the total donation amount to approximately $1.4 million.
The streamer himself said:
One of the best things about being a streamer is being able to see how great communities come together and then work with those communities to help others […]
He and his wife were very emotionally moved by the success and thanked the donors for becoming “a part of something bigger”.

What do the hospital representatives say? St. Jude’s Hospital is very grateful for the generous donation and publicly thanked DrLupo on their Twitter. Richard Shadyac, the CEO of the hospital’s official fundraising organization, stated:
The total amount raised of over one million dollars is just one of the milestones that make him a role model among his gaming friends.
Thanks to donors like DrLupo, the families of the children at St. Jude have never received a bill.
But you don’t have to be a streamer to bring joy to your community:
The launch of Atlas did not go as planned. Now the developers are speaking out and explaining the difficulties surrounding the release. They are also making bold statements.
This is what happened: The release of Atlas was more or less a disaster. Initially, the launch was postponed several times. And at the launch on Steam, there were loads of negative reviews and players complained about numerous bugs in the game. In a lengthy post on Steam, the head, Jeremy Stieglitz, addressed the community and discussed the problems in the game.
He explains how the game is supposed to improve in the coming weeks and why these difficulties occurred in the first place.
This is what the developer says about Atlas
Why were there launch issues? The developer attributes the early difficulties to a large influx of players that the developers did not anticipate. Therefore, the servers had to be upgraded for larger capacities and performance updates had to be made.
They literally barricaded themselves in the “development bunker” 24/7 and lost oversight amidst all the work. Such a situation should not happen again and communication is to improve from now on. Stieglitz, however, was overwhelmed by the feedback from the players, as many of them said that Atlas has great potential with its immense freedoms in the sandbox.
That’s why it should get better now: The developer repeatedly apologized for the mistakes and promises improvement. New updates are supposed to be carried out daily, if not multiple times a day, to improve the game quality.
The developers see Atlas as a very ambitious project and want to face the challenges in Early Access and try to improve the game as best as they can. The FAQ page already states: This long journey will last 2 years.
The letter was concluded confidently by the lead programmer: “Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. This game is going to be really big”
This is what the new update brings: The developer then talks about the new update that has been released. This update has already fixed various server outages and the server stability has significantly improved as a result. The developers prioritize resolving the server issues and promise significant progress in the coming days. You can find more information about the update in the following post, where we reflect on the development of the game after six days.
Because aside from all the problems, the game is a phenomenon. Why, we’ll tell you here:
Fortnite’s fun battle royale mode is easy to learn but hard to master. Many different playstyles can lead to success. How do you play Fortnite: Battle Royale? We present the classic player types – and in the end, it’s up to you!
Millions of players are now enjoying Epic’s take on the battle royale mode. The game is extremely popular – partly because many playstyles can lead to success.
Do you prefer to proceed slowly and cautiously, or like a bull in a china shop? Do you tend to avoid the hot zones on the map, or do you jump right into the fray?
Let us know in the survey at the end of the article which category you feel you belong to.
1. The Rambo
John Rambo from the movie series of the same name with Sylvester Stallone in the lead role represents the reckless type, who does not shy away from confrontation and always fights at the front line.
The Rambo in Fortnite: Battle Royale prefers to land in large cities like Retail Row, Pleasant Park, or Greasy Grove and immediately jumps into battle.
Rambos tend to extremes – either they leave the cities as winners with great loot, or they quickly meet their end, only to jump back into the fray. Rambos want to decide the games quickly and constantly seek confrontation throughout a round.
The Bush Warrior is the opposite of the Rambo and mainly acts in secrecy. No weapon in the world generates as much delight as a bush in a chest. Disguised as a bush, the warriors sneak around the map and eliminate careless targets who do not notice the bush.
The Bush Warrior’s favorite weapon is the sniper rifle – one shot to eliminate opponents without drawing attention to themselves. The Bush Warrior is one of the most hated players since the map is littered with bushes. No one can check all these bushes for enemies.
The Bush Warrior has a hard time in the endgame. Opponents who have built fortifications shoot at the bushes to eliminate hidden enemies. By then, bushes must reveal themselves.
The Architect loves the building mode. Complex structures must be built high everywhere, from which enemies can be shot at. Architects land in places where many resources can be gained.
Architects prefer to build their structures at the edge of the storm, to always have an overview of the map and to eliminate stragglers from the storm.
Especially in the endgame, a well-placed fortress is a blessing and greatly increases the chances of winning, as long as opponents do not destroy the fortress.
The loot of defeated opponents is only collected when the available area of the map gets smaller or the air is clear. Until then, the loot can be used as perfect bait for careless players.
The Ninja often gets to the endgame without a single kill. The Ninja lands in remote locations, collects only the essentials, and does nothing that may attract attention.
The Ninja prefers to have the water at the edge of the map or the storm at his back, to avoid surprise attacks. He moves toward the eye of the storm along the edge of the map, revealing himself as late as possible. Forests and buildings are his favorite hiding spots.
The Ninja knows how to handle traps excellently, placing them directly in hiding spots to take out careless players.
Since the Ninja avoids confrontation, he must make do with poor loot and relies on luck and careless opponents in the endgame. Ninjas and Rambos should not play together on a team – conflict potential!
The Opportunist is the looter among Fortnite players. Loud battles attract him like light attracts moths. He stays hidden until the fight is over and strikes when the remaining player is regenerating health or looting the fallen opponent’s loot.
The Opportunist quickly notices where battles are taking place and does everything to determine the exact position of the enemies for a surprise attack.
Not infrequently, the Opportunist wins a game this way.
The Aimless always lands in a different place on the map to explore as many angles as possible. He has no fixed goal and reluctantly bends to the storm’s progress. The Aimless follows no tactic or strategy, he collects loot and lets himself be carried along by the storm.
Since the Aimless neither looks at the clock nor the remaining opponents, he often lands in the storm more than he would like. Confrontations are avoided if possible, and in doubt, a hiding place is sought until the opponents disappear.
Aimless players reach the endgame less often and do not quite know what to do there. They let the situation unfold and just see what happens (which often ends with a game over).
ArcheAge was once seen as a great hope for the MMORPG genre and was well received upon its launch in Korea in 2013. However, over the years, the MMO lost many players. Now, the creator of ArcheAge, Jake Song, wants to turn things around.
Although ArcheAge had such a hopeful start, the MMORPG now plays only a minor role – here in the West and in its home country of South Korea.
Fans have been dissatisfied with many decisions regarding the development of the online game. However, that is set to change as designer Jake Song takes the helm again.
The boss is back!
Who is Jake Song? Song has a legendary reputation as an MMORPG designer, as he is the creator of Lineage (1998), the “original MMORPG” in Korea. Therefore, many were highly interested in what he would do with ArcheAge (2013).
What happened? During a fan session for ArcheAge on December 22, Jake Song answered some questions about the game. The designer explained that he is once again personally overseeing the development of the game.
Song and his team are aware that ArcheAge no longer holds the status it enjoyed at release among players. Therefore, the designer wants to personally ensure that the game gets back “on track”.
What is set to change? Song and his team have released a first trailer for an upcoming major update that brings several changes.
“Road to the Garden” introduces a new game area where tanks, healers, and damage dealers must work together to overcome challenges.
Additionally, the team is working on other things:
They want to get a handle on the problem of hacks and exploits.
The balancing of classes, especially for tanks and healers, is to be improved.
New RvR content is planned for March 2019.
Daily quests and repeatable content will be revised to make them more varied. Many players have complained that the current content is boring.

What about European players? The mentioned changes and updates initially apply to the Korean version of ArcheAge.
Due to the purchase of Trion Worlds by gamigo, it is currently unclear how quickly updates will be rolled out in Europe and North America. Jake Song could not comment on this.
Developers are aware of the problems: Jake Song stated that the team knows the current state of ArcheAge and what problems the MMORPG is facing. He assures fans that he is taking care of it.
Fans are now curious whether ArcheAge can regain its former strength under Jake Song – at least in Korea.

1. Perk row: Increased Resilience, Improved Health Regeneration
The legendary raid boss Heatran can be defeated in Pokémon GO by two players. Many players are now taking on the challenge to defeat Heatran with special Pokémon.
They use weaker Pokémon to defeat Heatran or fight only with different monsters. We will show you some highlights of this duo challenge.
How easy it is to defeat Heatran
This is how to defeat Heatran with two players: Heatran is vulnerable to the types Ground, Fighting, and Water. It even has a double weakness against Ground. If you have a team of Groudon and Rhyperior at level 30, it is enough to defeat Heatran.
If you want to defeat Heatran particularly quickly, we recommend our counter guide for the legendary Pokémon:
Since Heatran is particularly easy to defeat, some players now want a challenge. They deliberately choose slightly weaker Pokémon or fight with special battle teams.
With 12 different Pokémon: In this video, two trainers battle with 12 different Pokémon. Not only are Groudon and Rhyperior included, but also weaker Pokémon like Alolan Diglett or Donphan.
As an additional challenge, none of the Pokémon have weather bonuses, so they do not benefit from any extra attack bonuses.

Heatran only with Flygon: Who would have thought that Flygon would be in the spotlight? In this video, two trainers battle exclusively with the Dragon and Ground Pokémon. Additionally, Flygon does not benefit from the weather bonus.
The special thing here is not only that it was possible to win with Flygon, but also that two players raised multiple copies of Flygon to maximum level.

More challenges: The internet is full of bizarre battles against Heatran. For example, players have defeated the legendary Pokémon only with Gyarados or Machamp. Additionally, Heatran has also been defeated with Pokémon that are at maximum level 25.
