In Pokémon GO, there are currently increasing complaints about bans. Many of them are said to have occurred unjustly. There is now a discussion on how to make Niantic aware of the problem, as the support is not responding.
What is the problem? In the subreddit TheSilphRoad, there is currently increased discussion about bans in Pokémon GO that are allegedly unjustly imposed.
The reason for the bans is said to be the use of third-party software. However, players claim that they have not used such software.
Users like newbaroque are now fearing for their accounts and want to make Niantic aware that there are false bans occurring.
Players want attention from Niantic
What is the situation? User TheBigBouska describes in a thread his problem in more detail. Apparently, he has already been banned multiple times for 7 days. Support tickets to Niantic have reportedly yielded no success:
Recently, many players who have not used fake or third-party applications are receiving a 7-day ban. Personally, I’ve been getting them repeatedly for many months.
Unfortunately, Niantic support refuses to believe that there could be false positives in the detection algorithm, and it is almost impossible to receive anything other than an automated bot response.
He is now trying to attract Niantic’s attention and hopes for support from other players, as well as from the press.
Currently, there is a huge outcry on reddit. In recent days, there have been more than 10 threads on the topic. Users with various smartphones and account levels seem to be affected.
Players are primarily criticizing that Niantic support does not respond to inquiries, as shown in the thread by thicketcosplay.
Pokémon GO wants to take down cheaters. But does it always catch the right ones?
Why are false bans so serious? Bans lead to the banned player temporarily being unable to play Pokémon GO.
Genre: Online RPG | Developer: ArenaNet | Platform: PC | Release: April 28, 2005
Guild Wars Prophecies, the online RPG, was released in April 2005. At that time, the focus was primarily on PvP. 15 years later, the title still impresses with its PvE content and unique hero system. But is it still worth jumping in in 2020?
Guild Wars 1 is the first title from ArenaNet and is fundamentally based on MMORPGs. You create a character, level it up, collect gear, and take down tough bosses with other players or engage in PvP.
However, instead of an open game world, there are only cities (hubs) where you can meet other players. In the areas, you rely on yourself and your group. This group can consist of 4 to 16 players or NPCs, depending on the zone, who will support you in battle.
It is precisely this NPC system and the vast amount of content that still make the game interesting in 2020, even for newcomers.
Quickly reach max level, yet still plenty to do
What does Guild Wars 1 offer? The online RPG comes with three campaigns, each functioning independently. You only need to purchase one of them to get started. However, to explore all classes, stories, and areas, you need to acquire all chapters.
Each campaign has its own theme and content:
Prophecies was the first part of the series and takes place in the zones you know from Guild Wars 2. The start can be a bit slow, and you must rely on pre-made NPCs if you want to fill your group. Moreover, you only have access to the 6 basic classes. However, the story here is the most interesting.
Factions takes place on its own continent, inspired by the Asian world. In this campaign, you level up the fastest and can travel to the other continents the earliest. Besides the basic classes, you get exclusive access to the Assassin and Ritualist classes.
Nightfall is set in a world influenced by Africa and is the newest campaign. Here you get heroes, i.e., NPCs that you can skill and equip independently. Additionally, you gain access to the Dervish and Paragon classes. This campaign is best suited for newcomers.
In addition to the 3 campaigns, there is the expansion Eye of the North. However, it requires one of the game versions and did not introduce new classes. Instead, the focus was heavily on the story and dungeons that can be long and challenging.

Trailer with gameplay for the expansion Eye of the North.
What are the special features? In Guild Wars 1, you have access to over 250 skills per class. Additionally, there is a system where each character has access to a second class. Since this can even be changed for a fee, you have over 2,500 skills to choose from for each character.
However, you can only bring 8 skills into an area. You select these, as well as the distribution of attributes and group composition, in the cities.
Additionally, the max level in the game is 20. This is typically reached after just a few hours of gameplay. Even the best gear can be farmed relatively quickly by veterans. In return, it is worth having multiple armor sets with different attributes.
What makes GW1 appealing? The unique system of Guild Wars 1 makes it particularly exciting to create your own builds and group compositions.
However, to do this, you have to unlock some skills or “harvest” elite skills from special bosses using a seal. This will keep you busy for a while.
The created builds are then used to face tough challenges. And there are plenty of them:
Each area and mission in the game exists in normal and hard mode. This way, even starting zones can become challenges. However, to access hard mode, you must have completed the respective campaign once.
In Eye of the North, there are 18 dungeons with multiple levels.
These hero NPCs support you in Guild Wars 1 (via GuildWiki)
What about PvP? Many aspects of Guild Wars 1 are focused on PvP. You can directly create a PvP character that has reached max level and has access to all unlocked skills.
Additionally, there are plenty of content for PvP fans with automated tournaments in GvG and various modes such as Alliance Battles, Random Arena, and the Hero’s Ascension.
However, while PvE in 2020 is still well attended and can be experienced alone thanks to NPCs, PvP is now mainly for hardcore fans and members of larger guilds. Matches are rarely formed.
Where does Guild Wars 1 stand in 2020?
What about updates? Guild Wars 1 has not been actively expanded since the release of Guild Wars 2. However, bonus weeks and various festivals such as the anniversary, Chinese New Year, or Christmas still occur regularly.
Real new content has only been introduced once since 2013, namely for the 15th anniversary in April 2020. A skill and a few new weapon skins were introduced for each class (via Guildnews).
The old Ascalon in Guild Wars 1 – An iconic and beautiful place.
Is it still worth starting anew? Guild Wars 1 offers a lot of content for little money with all 3 campaigns and the expansion (the Complete Collection costs in the official shop rund 40 Euro):
With the story quests and missions alone, you can engage in over 100 hours of gameplay. This is followed by numerous side quests and smaller stories.
There are many different ways to aesthetically and gameplay-wise enhance your characters.
Some bosses and missions are quite tough and a lot of fun.
The game provides you with its title system, a wealth of elaborate achievements, including exploring all maps to 100% or defeating all enemies on all maps in hard mode.
Additionally, a special feature is that you can convert earned achievements in Guild Wars 1 into skins and achievement points in the successor Guild Wars 2 through the Hall of Monuments.
Strengths and Weaknesses of Guild Wars 1
Pro
Extensive content and many tasks in the game
Interesting story
Thanks to NPCs, you can experience all content alone if needed
There are still challenging fights and challenges today
You can earn benefits for Guild Wars 2
Contra
There are no more content updates
The PvP is nearly dead
A rather static combat system
Potential: Solid even without new updates
Guild Wars 1 has been on my hard drive since 2006 and will likely remain there until the servers are shut down. After over 10,000 hours of gameplay, I still enjoy the online RPG, even though it has aged somewhat and has not been expanded for a long time.
Its unique skill and build system and lore still fascinate me today. Even though there has always been a relatively fixed meta at the end in high-end PvE and PvP, I enjoyed experimenting. The hard mode in each area requires some creativity, as some zones and creatures are still challenging.
If you are currently looking for a new online RPG and have not tried Guild Wars 1 yet, I can highly recommend the game, even though it is no longer being developed.

The raid boss N’Zoth in WoW has a special phase on mythic difficulty. But this Chinese guild is so good, they simply skip the phase!
Even though the end of N’Zoth is controversial and the cinematic was rather disappointing, he is considered one of the tougher bosses in World of Warcraft. Especially on mythic difficulty, he is a real challenge that requires a lot of coordination and good gear to be defeated. On this difficulty, he even has an additional phase – which can be skipped. This has now been accomplished by the Chinese guild “Scary Maze”.
This is how it looks: In the following video, you can see the nearly 10-minute fight against N’Zoth. Most of the time, not much unusual happens; the phases are played as usual. However, at the 25% threshold of N’Zoth, the Chinese players choose a different tactic. Instead of playing the “bonus phase”, they simply keep firing mercilessly at N’Zoth and defeat him in the blink of an eye, just before all of them would have died.

How is this possible? The guild “Scary Maze” exploits a mechanic of the fight with maximum efficiency. When players fall into madness, they become significantly stronger for 20 seconds and are only then controlled by N’Zoth. The guild takes advantage of this to smash the boss directly during these 20 seconds.
The action was quite close, by the way – just one second longer and N’Zoth would have killed all the players.
Another factor is that the players’ gear has significantly improved in the past weeks and months, otherwise this wouldn’t have been possible. Back during the “World First race” between Limit and Method, such a strategy wouldn’t have been possible due to a lack of damage and gear.
What do you think of this achievement? Pretty impressive or “cheesy”, to simply skip an entire phase?

The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) lets you play tanks, healers, or damage dealers. Unfortunately, you often encounter fake tanks, which can be quite annoying. Author Larissa Then from MeinMMO feels the same way.
Most players are currently excited about the new chapter add-on Greymoor in The Elder Scrolls Online. While I belong to that group, I am still frustrated by an old issue – fake tanks.
What is a fake tank? As the name suggests, this refers to false tanks. They register as a rock in the ocean in the group finder, even though they are actually DPS players. This saves them time in group searching and gets them into the dungeon faster. Many players encounter fake tanks in one out of four dungeons.
This annoys me. And not just me; in the community, on reddit or in the forum, fake tanks are a recurring topic. It has come to the point where I avoid the group finder. I prefer to ask in my guild if a dungeon group is forming; otherwise, I skip it.
I’m not annoyed by the players who might not be that advanced yet. The ones still in the leveling phase or simply lack experience. Some may just mean well. I am bothered by the fake tanks who do this out of convenience.
While some rejoice over their time savings, I get headaches
A Recurring Problem
What about the roles in ESO? In MMOs with the “Holy Trinity”, meaning the three roles of tank, damage dealer, and healer, there is often the same issue: too many DPS. Perhaps players do not want to take on the responsibility of the whole group, or they simply enjoy dealing damage.
In ESO, there is an oversupply of damage dealers, but often a shortage of tanks. This leads to long waiting times for DPS to join a dungeon.
In other games like World of Warcraft, signing up for a role is limited by your build. However, in ESO, all classes can assume any role. If you want to optimize your character’s class, we at MeinMMO have outlined the best class for each playstyle in our guide.
In ESO, there are 6 different classes and 10 different races
What is the problem with fake tanks? Because in ESO, almost every combination is playable, DPS players can also register as tanks and squeeze into a group quickly. However, they lack the skills, stats, or gear of real tanks.
Then you have a damage dealer signing up as a tank. And this keeps happening. The character, of course, cannot hold aggro because they cannot taunt or withstand the enemies. Then the monsters run around in the group and happily kill all the other players.
The healer, usually me, doesn’t have an easy life because they have to take care of everyone at once. In the worst case, your group dies, and everyone is annoyed. Especially with the bosses, this can be problematic. This way, you cannot complete the dungeon, and the fake tank also gets nothing from their short queue.
Many dungeons, especially those from the base game, do not necessarily need a tank. But signing up for this role out of convenience is unfair to honest players and just plain annoying.
A tank always rushes into the fray first and does well in heavy armor
What are the tank’s tasks? I referred to tanks earlier as the rock in the tide, and that is exactly their job. A tank stands at the front lines and is there to soak up damage.
You should keep the enemies relatively close to the same position so that your DPS can deal maximum damage. To do this, you need to bind them to you with a taunt and also maintain their attention.
Furthermore, you should be able to take hits so that you make it easier for your healer. You also make the healer’s job easier when you never lose aggro from the enemies, so other group members are not attacked.
However, if you neither have the gear nor the skills to tank, all of this will not work, and group play will fall apart. No one benefits from that.
No solution in sight?
What could be done about it? Over the years, the community has discussed several ways to solve this problem:
Consider the skills: Which has your character further developed? Does he go into the tank role? The simple way to redistribute your skill points in ESO makes this difficult.
Restrict sign-ups as a tank based on health: For example, your character would need to have 30,000 health points; otherwise, you cannot take on the tank role. However, this would punish players who are good tanks even with low health.
The ignore list: There is at least one solution for yourself. Put players on the ignore list before you kick them from the group. This reduces the number of fake tanks for your personal gaming enjoyment.
Fixing the problem of fake tanks is a difficult undertaking, especially in ESO. In a game that offers so many different possibilities for skill builds, not much can be done.
If you are completely frustrated and have no desire to play with other players, try going solo on a dungeon. I will continue to hope for reasonable groups with my healer.
Have you had experiences with fake tanks? Do you still find the problem so severe in 2020?

The major shop overhaul in League of Legends (LoL) is approaching. Soon, the way you shop for items will change. It is already clear how the new shop should work.
Where does the information come from? Riot Games has already spoken with players in a blog post about the preseason 2021 and what changes will come to the game. Gameplay-wise, the preseason 2021 will revolve around the complete overhaul of the shop interface and the item system of LoL.
They have already shared some plans that aim to visually and technically improve the shop.
What will the new LoL shop look like?
This is what Riot explains: In the blog post, RiotScruffy, the lead gameplay designer:
There are basically two types of shop visitors. For this reason, we want to create different versions of the interface to give players what they want.
Recommended Items
With one of the player types, Riot targets users who like to be supported by the shop in choosing items. They purchase through the “Recommended Items” tab. With the new interface for this, the developers want to show players the best decision-making options while not overwhelming them with the choices.
This is how the recommended items will be displayed to you
This selection should also remain dynamic and keep itself updated. Thus, the recommendations are supposed to change at different points in the game to match the game situations.
– Better recommendations: We want to replace our current handcrafted pages with the recommended items (which can quickly lose their relevance) with a system that integrates our data directly so that the recommendations are always up to date.
– Selected decision options: Not every item is equally good at every point in the game, and the shop makes it difficult for players to make a decision due to the countless options. We want to ensure that the recommended items dynamically show players the best options for the respective moment in the game.
– The strategic aspect must not be lost: Even though this is a kind of supervised experience, players should still have decision options and should not be prescribed a linear crafting path. Players should still have to decide whether to build Thornmail or Randuin’s Omen.
– Contextual analysis: One of our key goals is to teach less experienced players reactive item decisions. For this reason, we are implementing some new systems that analyze allies and enemies in each game and then display which items would have made good counters or complements.
RiotScruffy on the change of the “Recommended Items” tab
All Items
Players who are already well-versed in the items and the shop will find their tab for “All Items” as usual. But this will also be overhauled.
The arrangement for all items in the shop should become even more intuitive
The main goal of the overhaul is for players to be able to decide quickly and easily. As few clicks as possible should lead to the purchase of the desired item.
– All important items on one display: This is (literally) the one shop where experienced players can find and buy items with as few clicks as possible.
– Consistent arrangement: Since this shop is aimed at experienced players, the items should be logically arranged, and this arrangement should hardly change. Players can train their motor memory and learn over time where each item is located in the shop.
– Improved data: We want to integrate our new data collection capabilities into the interface of the “All Items” shop so that all useful items for the respective champion are highlighted. Finding and quickly purchasing items will be easier than ever.
RiotScruffy on the change of the “All Items” tab
What does Riot want to achieve with this?
For the preseason 2021, the LoL developers have set important goals that they want to achieve with the changes.
These are the goals: Riot explains that every player must be able to buy their items quickly and intuitively.
Furthermore, the selection of an item should also serve as a strategic decision.
Through item combinations, exciting possibilities should be created for mastering the champions. Items should still feel very powerful.
Will you have to learn everything anew? No. Riot explains that about 34% of the shop will remain the same. 33% of the shop will be improved, and the remaining nearly 33% will then be “new.” But no worries, iconic items will be retained. You should not have to relearn everything in the shop.

The online shooter Escape from Tarkov is set to receive a new massive map. This map will have some special features, as explained by Nikita Buyanov, Head of PR at Battlestate, during the PC Gaming Show.
What kind of map is this? The new map “Streets of Tarkov” is located in a city that is in a really miserable state. Houses and cars have been destroyed, garbage is everywhere, and everything looks abandoned.
What is special? It’s notable that the level of detail is very high, which Nikita Buyanov also revealed during the PC Gaming Show. The map is supposed to simulate a realistic and modern city, as mentioned in the discussion.
In addition to the visuals, sound is expected to play an important role. Already in the trailer, you can hear cracking and the sounds of objects in the environment.
Last but not least, the scale of the map is impressive. The “Streets of Tarkov” are said to be the largest map in the shooter so far.
When will the map be released? This is not yet known. However, it seems that it is not planned for the upcoming update 12.7, but rather for a later one.
In an earlier version of the article, it was stated that the “Streets of Tarkov” would be included in the next update. That was a mistake that we have corrected.

What does Patch 12.7 bring? Officially, Patch 12.7 is expected to be more of a technical patch and make corresponding adjustments. The focus will be on a complete overhaul of the skills system.
Additionally, two new content updates are planned:
The map “Customs” is to be expanded by 30 to 40%.
The new boss “The Senator”, who can heal himself and his allies, is to be introduced into the game.
However, there are still no exact details about these new features and the skill update.
When will Patch 12.7 be released? There is currently no exact date for the release of Patch 12.7. Patch 12.6 with the wipe and Patch 12.5 both came out in May. The next update should therefore not be too far away.
In Call of Duty: Warzone, you have the choice of which team size to start with in the Battle Royale. Here, MeinMMO presents the best loadouts for trio teams and tells you what you should pack in your loadouts to be prepared for all situations.
What do coordinated loadouts bring in Warzone? By coordinating with your team on who takes which equipment and weapons, you can secure a significant advantage over teams that select their loadouts based on the day’s performance.
If you’re not roaming the Call of Duty: Warzone with a strong solo loadout, you should always synchronize your loadout with your teammates.
MeinMMO provides you here with a strong template for your trio team and introduces 3 loadouts that bring all important equipment and tools to counter the dangers of BR.
Warzone Trio Loadouts and Tactics – Ready for Battle in BR-3
In Warzone, you need to pay attention to several things to be successful. Campers, vehicles, privacy-infringing thermal sights, and so much more. However, many gadgets and equipment can be countered or prepared for effectively. You should best assign roles within your team:
Frontliner – Engages in CQCs (close-quarters combat) and clears unknown areas
Support – Deals with vehicles and protects the team
Sniper – Scouts the planned route and delivers headshots
With this division, everything can come at you and you’ll still have the right equipment or countermeasure ready for the enemy’s approach. Here are the roles in detail:
Trio Loadout 1 – Frontliner with AUG Setup to melt opponents
AUG Attachments
Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
Barrel: 407 mm Lightweight
Stock: FORGE TAC Close Combat Stock
Underbarrel: Commando Grip
Ammunition: 5.56 NATO 60 Round Drum / 5.56 NATO 30 Round Magazine
Perks
Blue: Cold-Blooded / KRD
Red: Ghost
Yellow: Scout / Tracker
Equipment
Secondary Weapon: Loot a ranged weapon
Primary: C4
Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor
Suitable Field Upgrade: Dead Silence / Trophy System
What does this loadout bring? The frontliner forms the spearhead of your team and ensures the advance. They always go first through uncertain doors, push against enemy teams, and support their teammates in close combat when they need help.
For this, powerful SMGs with a bit of range are suitable. The AUG with the 5.56 conversion kit has top DPS (damage per second) values and takes down opponents quickly and reliably at close to medium range.
To support your team at greater distances, loot a ranged weapon in Verdansk. A sniper rifle or the single shot assault rifle FAL provides you with the extra kick of flexibility. Since the AUG continues to consume SMG ammunition despite the 5.56 attachment, you can use the FAL without problems.
“Cold-Blooded” and “Ghost” belong to the strongest perks in Warzone. This allows you to counter heartbeat sensors, drones, and thermal sights. As a “Scout”, you can also see enemy equipment in buildings and, along with the heartbeat sensor, scout enemy positions. If you find “Dead Silence”, you can then attack these positions as stealthily as possible.
With the C4, you protect yourself from persistent vehicles that want to get too close to you. This explosive is excellent for destroying vehicles in Warzone. It is also very useful to preemptively remove armor from campers in rooftops and announce that things are about to get uncomfortable. On consoles, you activate a thrown C4 by quickly pressing “Reload” twice in succession.
What else could I adjust here? If the AUG with this setup is too sluggish for you, swap the 60 round drum for the smaller 5.56 magazine. This way, you’ll be quicker in your sights, have a bit more control, but only half the bullets. The MP5 matches the AUG in terms of DPS and will also advance you here.
Instead of the thermal protection “Cold-Blooded,” “KDR” is an option. This perk helps against enemy explosive attacks from launchers or the like. An invaluable aid against the commonly used RPG, which became stronger after a rework of the launchers. However, you then have a disadvantage against thermal snipers, as you shine as brightly in their sight as the new LED lighting on a main road.
Instead of “Scout,” you can also use the yellow perk “Tracker.” This way, you can see the footsteps of enemies for a while, which can be very helpful when tracking or locating opponents.
If you have your field upgrade slot free, consider adding a Trophy System. This device protects your vehicles from rockets or keeps enemy equipment off you in combat. A more detailed analysis of the Trophy System can be found here:
Trio Loadout 2 – Support with strong Grau Setup for vehicles and support
Grau 5.56 Attachments
Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
Barrel: Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
Underbarrel: Commando Grip
Ammunition: 50 Round Magazine / 60 Round Magazine
Grip: XRK Void II / Stock: No Stock
Perks
Blue: Cold-Blooded
Red: Ghost
Yellow: Amped
Equipment
Secondary Weapon: PILA Launcher
Primary: Semtex / Fragmentation Grenade / C4
Tactical: Smoke
Suitable Field Upgrade: Mobile Cover / Special Ammunition
What does this loadout bring? The supporter has basically 3 tasks in the team:
Support frontliners with flanking attacks
Keep the team alive
Destroy enemy vehicles
With the Grau setup, the supporter loses some effectiveness in close combat but hits nearly everything, even at long distances. The support should operate from the second line behind the frontliner and find and exploit potential flanking positions. Semtex or fragmentation grenades support your joint advance.
Here too, “Ghost” and “Cold-Blooded” offer strong advantages, as the chance of being discovered early is lower.
To help the team survive, the support always ensures to stay much in cover and rarely gets knocked or retreats quickly. With “Amped,” you revive your teammates 25% faster. The smoke grenade helps secure comrades in contested areas or when retreating.
Additionally, the smoke grenade offers many usage possibilities. It’s a strong tool when team members already have heartbeat sensors. Another helpful tool is the mobile cover. This allows you to reach certain spots in Verdansk that you can’t access without it or jump onto a wall that might otherwise be a bit too high.
Additionally, you have the PILA launcher, so your team is equipped against vehicles. The entire team should gather rocket ammunition for the supporter. This ensures that the PILA always has plenty of ammo and a rocket should be sent after any vehicle that gets within lock-on range. Here you can find more information about the launchers in CoD MW & Warzone.
What else could I adjust here? The full power against vehicles comes with C4 in the primary equipment slot. A shot with the PILA followed by a placed C4 charge can even blow trucks into the air. A player once impressively proved how effective C4 can be against 2 trucks at once.
If the Grau 5.56 is stable enough for you, consider removing the stock instead of the Void grip. “No stock” gives you more mobility and trades it for some control. The drawbacks of the 60-round magazine are hardly felt with “No stock” and are thus also worth considering. If you play Free-to-Play and haven’t unlocked the Grau, try the laser setup for the M13. This assault rifle consumes significantly more bullets, though.
If you find special ammunition, stick it right into your Grau. The stable weapon then deals a bit more damage with only minimal handling drawbacks. The maximum 30 rounds from the package also do not come from your reserve and provide a few extra shots.
Trio Loadout 3 – Sniper with HDR Setup for strong hits against enemy teams
HDR Attachments
Muzzle: Suppressor (Monolith)
Barrel: 26.9″ HDR Pro
Laser: Tactical Laser
Sight: Thermal Dual Power Scope
Stock: FTAC Champion
Perks
Blue: Cold-Blooded
Red: Ghost / Overkill
Yellow: Eager
Equipment
Secondary Weapon: Loot a weapon with high mobility
Primary: Claymore / Proximity Mine
Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor
Suitable Field Upgrade: Ammunition Box / Armor Box / Trophy System
What does this loadout bring? The sniper in the team scouts out areas, puts pressure on enemies, and delivers painful hits to enemy teams that stand in your way. Always on the way to the next rooftop, they form the team’s base but never stray too far from their colleagues.
The HDR setup is among our 3 best loadouts for snipers in Warzone and provides you with nearly perfect aim stability. With the thermal sight, you can spot enemies at great distances without “Cold-Blooded” and the strong handling of the weapon allows for precise hits.
The ninja perks “Cold-Blooded” and “Ghost” should also be included by snipers. However, if you prefer to play a bit more withdrawn and away from your team, other perks are also possible.
To avoid being completely dependent on your quick-scope skills in close combat, find yourself a quick secondary weapon in Warzone. There are some strong blueprints for SMGs or mobile assault rifles that perfectly complement your high range.
To optimally cover your team’s back, pack a heartbeat sensor and proximity mines. Frequently check the area behind you with the sensor to see if teams without “Ghost” are approaching and place mines at the entrances to your spots. If you leave your position, you can also pick up the mines again.
For field upgrades, the sniper is sort of the pack mule. If your team finds an ammo or armor box, they should give the gadgets to the sniper. Also, trophy systems or other helpful machines, like the small reconnaissance drone, fit into their inventory if they don’t have a reserve box handy.
What else could I adjust here? If you don’t want to rely on finding a mobile weapon in Warzone, take “Overkill” as your red perk. This gives you a fully equipped second weapon for the battlefield. Opt for the stable Grau 5.56 or one of the strong Warzone SMGs, like the AUG, MP5, or MP7 as a secondary weapon.
However, if you’re compactly positioned as a team, enemies can see you on their heartbeat sensors, which can be a significant disadvantage. As you approach the endgame, try to snag one of the free supply crates to organize “Ghost” for yourselves.
Trio Tactics for Strong Teamwork
What advantages does this arrangement bring? By staggered roles in 3 rows, you minimize the chance of being completely taken down as a team. Additionally, you cover a larger field of vision, as each team member has their own task:
Frontliners secure the area ahead and search for the best routes for advancement
Supporters cover the flanks of the frontliner and assist in firefights
Snipers cover the back of the team and shoot at anything that moves
Together with your coordinated equipment, you have the suitable solution ready for almost every problem. Now you just need the right match tactics. Here on MeinMMO, we have presented the strategy of the most successful Warzone player.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, Season 4 is live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, it brought some issues. Just on Saturday evening, June 13th, a new update was released to resolve three ongoing problems. This is the third patch in just three days.
This is what the new update does: Yesterday evening around 5 PM our time, Infinity Ward announced that a new update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is being rolled out.
The patch fixes 2 problems and adjusts the balance of the new controversial events that occur during matches in Call of Duty: Warzone. We will take a look at the patch notes.

On the map Scrapyard, which returned with Season 4 to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a glitch occurred that allowed players to spawn outside the map. This glitch has now been fixed. The spawns on Scrapyard should function normally again.
The second bug was about the Season 4 Battle Pass. Some players experienced difficulties when trying to use items they received through the pass. This problem also seems to have been resolved by Infinity Ward.
This is how the patch is received: The reaction on Twitter is quite clear: Many want the “Plunder” mode back, which Infinity Ward removed from the game on Friday evening. They want to communicate this as loudly and clearly as possible to the developers.
This was the patch sequence: The timeline for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is currently quite chaotic. Due to the “Black Lives Matter” movement, the schedule has been shifted:
In Destiny 2, the weapon exotic Trinity Ghoul emerges from the shadows and becomes the surprise hit of Season 11 thanks to the new catalyst. MeinMMO reveals where you can get the new wonder item and what the bow can do now.
This exotic weapon is now amazing: The exotic combat bow with the cumbersome name Trinity Ghoul has been in Destiny 2 for a good 2 years now. Despite its ability to fire three arrows at once and unleash lightning, the weapon never reached the Olympus of top exotics, until now.
Because in Season 11, the bow received its masterpiece catalyst. This has a lot behind the ears, and experts can’t stop their enthusiasm. MeinMMO examines what the improved lightning bow and its upgrade are all about.
This is what the bow can do as a masterpiece: The strength of Trinity Ghoul lies in the Arc lightning. This is significantly improved by the exotic masterpiece catalyst. Now your arrows will overload with Arc abilities with every shot.
Trinity Ghoul fires three lightning arrows
The effect activates with ability kills, such as Arc grenades or melee hits, but also from lightning damage from the bow itself. In plain language: Each of the three charged arrows chains Arc damage over a large area and thus charges the next load of arrows. Like the thunder god Zeus, you unleash lightning that zaps back and forth between enemies – again and again, until every enemy is annihilated.
Furthermore, these status values improve passively through the catalyst:
Charge time +30
Draw time +30
These bonuses are a blessing for the combat bow, as the weapon originally belongs to the slower representatives of its kind.
This is how you get the catalyst: To benefit from the new abilities of the catalyst, you need to find and level it first. Finding it shouldn’t be a problem: The item drops with a very high chance from almost all core activities.
Even in my first strike in Season 11, I and another teammate received the catalyst. Many Guardians also report that it dropped after their first PvP match (via reddit).
To level the catalyst, 400 kills with Trinity Ghoul are simply required. If you’re in a hurry, check out our farm spots:
Season 11 favors bows: With the start of the Season of Arrival, bows have been slightly improved in PvE. Enemies with red health bars now receive 10% extra damage.
Additionally, the seasonal artifact contains some bonuses for bows in general:
With the overload arrow tips mod, you are equipped against champions (only for legendary weapons)
The last time a bow was really popular was due to a bug. Because the Wishender happened to hit incredibly hard for a while, which the Guardians loved – accordingly, they were sad about the fix. But now the Guardians have the improved Trinity Ghoul.
Trinity Ghoul hits hard now
This is how strong the bow is in PvE: Thanks to the catalyst, the bow has been overnight elevated to one of the best primary exotics. With the lightning chaining, even groups of enemies are dealt with in no time.
Complement it with a sword in the power slot. Blade weapons are among the best options against single, powerful targets. The combination of bow and sword not only looks stylish but also hits hard.
This is how strong the bow is in PvP: In the Crucible of Season 11, Trinity Ghoul performs well. If you manage to charge an Arc kill, you have an easy game. Because to chain area damage among the Guardians, it’s enough to simply place an arrow near them.
You can shoot from the hip and fan out the three arrows – the lightning will find its way.
This is what it looks like when the thunder god is unleashed:

Paladins in WoW Classic have it easy. They can farm 200 gold an hour and do so almost completely naked – if they know what they’re doing.
In World of Warcraft Classic, there are many ways to earn gold. This is also necessary, for epic mounts or the high costs of repairs, potions, flasks, and many other small comforts like Black Lotus. But how do you farm the best? Do you need good gear for that? A paladin has now shown: No, you don’t. If you know what you’re doing, you can farm naked and earn several hundred gold per hour.
What is shown? The YouTuber tedj demonstrates in his latest video how “easy” it is to farm gold as a paladin in WoW Classic, namely in the instance Zul’Gurub. This is actually a raid for 20 players, but he goes solo and almost naked. He only wears rocket boots and trinkets.

He pulls many of the weaker mob groups – especially crocodiles and tigers, to drag them through half the raid. On a bridge, he “fights” the enemies and manages to defeat them in the course of about 10 minutes.
How does he do it? Tedj exploits the pathfinding of mobs in World of Warcraft. Depending on whether he is on the bridge or on the railing, the enemies choose a different path to reach him. By jumping, he makes the mobs constantly change their path. He regularly places the spell Consecration (and some bombs) to deal damage until all the enemies are defeated.
Is it easy? No. The jumps on the bridge must be extremely precise and require a lot of practice. A wrong step can lead to falling off the bridge or not making the jump accurately. Then the mobs reach the character and could lead to a very quick demise. It takes a lot of practice to deliver the whole thing as flawlessly as tedj.
How much gold does he earn with it? The loot he gets from the tigers and crocodiles adds up to a value of about 200 gold coins over the course of an hour. This is a large amount for WoW Classic, which often takes several days to achieve through normal means.
Do you also have such a cool farming method that works even naked? How do you make your gold in WoW Classic?

The Community Day with Hornliu brings a lot of Stardust in Pokémon GO. We will tell you how much dust you can easily earn.
This is the Community Day: Next Saturday, June 20th, the Community Day with Hornliu starts. During the event, you will receive three times the Stardust over the course of 6 hours.
We will show you how much Stardust is possible for you during that time and how you can easily collect a lot of dust.
Collecting Stardust on Community Day
Here are the calculations: On reddit, a trainer has made some estimates regarding playing the Community Day from home.
Therefore, the item Incense was included in the calculation, which usually attracts 90 Pokémon per hour during Community Days. If you only catch these monsters, you’ll get a lot of Stardust:
If you catch every Pokémon from the incense for 3 hours, you get 81,000 Stardust (with 6 Stardust Pieces even 121,500 Stardust)
If you catch every Pokémon from the incense for 6 hours, you get 162,000 Stardust (with 12 Stardust Pieces even 243,000 Stardust)
So you can earn nearly 250,000 Stardust without leaving your home. This calculation only takes into account the Pokémon from the incense. If you have some spawns at home, this amount will, of course, increase.
Here is how much dust you can earn while on the go: You need to differentiate where you play and how many Pokémon you can catch while on the go. However, you should be able to catch 150 Pokémon per hour if you use incense.
If you play in a place with many spawns and also use the catching trick, then catching 200 Pokémon per hour is also not a big problem:
150 Pokémon per hour over the entire 6 hours gives a total of 270,000 Stardust (with 12 Stardust Pieces that’s even 405,000 Stardust)
200 Pokémon per hour over the entire 6 hours gives a total of 360,000 Stardust (with 12 Stardust Pieces that’s even 540,000 Stardust)
What does this mean for you? On Community Day, you can easily earn over half a million Stardust. Such opportunities don’t come often in Pokémon GO, so you should definitely take advantage of them.
The Stardust Pieces are most worthwhile during such events. So save the item until Community Day and use it only then.
How to collect a lot of Stardust? The easiest way to get a lot of Stardust is to catch Pokémon. The tip sounds simple, and it is. Every Pokémon on Community Day brings at least 300 Stardust. So catch every monster that appears on your screen.
It’s best to use the catching trick for this, as it allows you to catch Pokémon significantly faster and ultimately catch more monsters.
Visit places where many Pokémon spawn and try not to play in your village where there are few. Always use incense as well, as it is particularly effective on Community Day. Simply because of this, you get 90 Pokémon per hour – whether in the countryside or in the city.
The beta for the new MMO New World finally starts in July. We at MeinMMO will tell you how to sign up for the beta, what happens in it, and what will happen with the game after the release. The start date of the beta that you need to remember is July 23.
During the PC Gaming Show, Amazon announced that the closed beta for New World will start on Thursday, July 23. Originally, the beta test was supposed to start in April 2020 but was postponed along with the release of the MMO.
How can I get a beta key?
On the official website of New World, you can currently register for the beta. Whether you are in it will be communicated to you via a mail, likely similar to the alpha. Pre-orders of New World however, automatically and guaranteed participate in the closed beta.
How long will the beta last?
The beta of New World is expected to run until the release of the game on August 25.
Can the beta be streamed on Twitch?
In the announcement of the reworking of New World in December 2019, it was stated that the NDA of New World would lift with the start of the beta.
Therefore, there is nothing to prevent a stream on Twitch, YouTube, or any other platform.
In New World, much revolves around the fortresses that can be conquered in PvP and defended in PvE.
Beta for New World is for testing and polishing – Start on July 23
What can players expect in the beta? The beta of New World is supposed to already contain all major features that the MMO will offer at release starting July 23.
The beta, in turn, focuses on testing and polishing the existing content, as David Verfaillie, Head of Player Experience, told MeinMMO in an interview:
We release a content patch every month and introduce new content in almost every one of them. As we move towards the beta, we will increasingly focus on polishing and refining the game’s content to prepare it for release.
So, there won’t be many big features, but we will focus on final polishing and adjustments. And also on optimizing the game so it runs smoothly on PCs and is ready for the large number of players who will be entering the game.
We are also working on the scope and stability of the game.

One of the creatures you will encounter in PvE in New World – The Swamp Giant.
What happens after the beta? Following the closed beta, New World is currently planned for release. After that, a roadmap is expected, and the MMO will be continuously expanded, as Verfaillie told us:
The one thing we have stated and believe 100% is that MMOs are living games. We will continue to support the game and add new content.
If you played the alpha, then you have experienced some pretty large content updates over the past months. There have been months with big and smaller updates, but we will continue to support the game.
And hopefully, we will have more details on the roadmap as we get closer to the launch on August 25.

MeinMMO conducted an interview with David Verfaillie, the Head of Player Experience for New World, on the occasion of the beta announcement. In the interview, you will learn how Amazon experienced the alpha phase of New World, what changes there will be at release, and why balancing for the MMO will be challenging. Here is the link to the article:
Genre: Open-World-MMO | Developer: Amazon Game Studios | Platform: PC | Release: 25.08.2020 | Interview Partner: David Verfaillie
Amazon Game Studios revealed during the PC Gaming Show that New World will have its beta launch on July 23. To mark the occasion, MeinMMO editor Leya Jankowsi conducted an interview with David Verfaillie, Head of Player Experience. They talked about what the team learned during the alpha and what lies ahead.
The interview includes information about:
What the team learned during the alpha
Why more lore and quests came to New World
Why PvE arenas were adjusted in difficulty
Details on how players are chosen for a PvP war
Why balancing New World will be so challenging
The start of the beta and how you can participate
This is New World: The new open-world MMO from Amazon takes place on the fictional island “Aeternum”, located in the middle of the Atlantic. A mineral inside is said to grant immortality. The settlers fight over territory and the mineral on the island. There are 3 factions, that players can join and that fight each other. The centerpiece is fortresses that are captured, expanded, and defended in massive battles. This can occur both in PvP as well as PvE against AI. A robust character progression system offers RPG content. It is noteworthy that there are no classes in the MMO; the equipment defines the class. Additionally, there will be player housing with decorations that even grant buffs.
In the alpha, the team learned that players want more quests
What you need to know about New World is that the game was originally supposed to be a survival sandbox game. A strict forced PvP with full loot and no mercy was planned. However, during the very first alpha tests, developers realized that experienced players sought out new players as easy targets. They took pleasure in killing them and ruining the fun for others. Amazon changed New World from a sandbox survival game to an open-world MMO with additional PvE content.
Of course, I was initially curious about everything that happened during the alpha.
MeinMMO: What has changed since the alpha, what feedback have you received, what data have you collected, and what will happen before the beta launch?
David Verfaillie: “Having the alpha was extremely useful. MMOs are massive games with many interconnecting systems. Therefore, it is very difficult to foresee how everything will play out in the end. You cannot test everything; you need to let the players in. Some of the big things we discovered were larger exploits that we would never have discovered on our own. Players are extremely clever and find things that we developers could have never foreseen. For example, how to level up or get gold faster than intended. […]
Another major aspect is balancing. One thing we really love about our game is the classless progression system. By choosing your weapons and armor, you can essentially create your own class. With the weapon mastery system, you can even specialize further. With so many options, of course, it is very difficult to balance the game. The alpha was a critical factor in this process.
And the third thing we learned is what players like about our game, what they don’t like, and what they want more of. We found out that players enjoy quests and therefore delivered more and more of them at the start of the alpha. We are still an open-world MMO with […] the appropriate open-world systems like territory control, player-driven economy, and housing. But we also wanted direct content like quests. That’s why we created a story questline that introduces you to the story of the world. The various territories in the world also have such quests. We only learned this from the players and then implemented it accordingly.”
Already in February, before the global pandemic lockdowns, I visited the Amazon Game Studios in the USA. Here I had the opportunity to gain a first impression of New World and immediately noticed the tedious “fetch quests,” in which I mostly just ran back and forth. The developer explained how they adjusted the quests even during the alpha.
David Verfaillie: “We did two things [with the quests]:
One is that we have added more story to the quests. The quests now tell more about the island, why people are there, what the history of the island is. We spent quite some time on storytelling. That’s a big deal.
The second major innovation is that we create quests with long event chains. There’s a staff quest, which you need to interact with the Corrupted Breaches and close them. To get the staff, you now have to go through a long quest chain. We also have long, multi-part quests to find specific legendary items.
These were the major changes we made to the quests.”
David explained to me that there are still lore books in the world, which give experience points when collected. This is intended to incentivize players to discover the documents scattered throughout the open world.
A mysterious mineral is corrupting the world, creating breaks in the world that change nature, humanity, and animals.
Amazon had to increase difficulty as players learn quickly
Several open questions about already introduced systems were still swirling in my mind. I often read these questions on MeinMMO or in other forums discussing New World.
MeinMMO:A while ago, you published something about the Spriggan, which appears in the arena. Some people are now wondering whether the Spriggan is the only monster type in the arena or if there will be more?
David Verfaillie: “At launch, the Spriggan will be our only arena boss. However, we have a few open-world bosses, like the corrupted commander or the priest. So there are more bosses, but the only arena boss at launch will be the Spriggan. It’s a cool boss fight with multiple phases. It can heal itself and stretch its limbs to reach you. For now, that’s the only boss there, but we will definitely expand on that.”
This is what you have arenas in New World for: Players can participate in a kind of mini-raid through arenas. In these arenas, a large boss monster awaits, which poses a special challenge. There are quite good rewards from the monster. So far, only the Spriggan has been introduced, which possesses supernatural powers.
“The players out there are so much better than us at this game”
MeinMMO:It sounds pretty cool to have a world boss where you can just jump into a fight without all the fuss.
David Verfaillie: “Yes, I think the arena is a lot of fun. It makes you feel almost like a gladiator in the middle of this epic fight. We had a lot of fun fighting the Spriggan and it’s cool to watch the players learn the fight.
You asked what we learned during the alpha. One of the things I learned is that, damn, the players out there are so much better than us at this game. We adjusted the Spriggan so that it seemed very hard for us. And then there was a forum post recently about how a group of 5 max-level players defeated it in 1:30 minutes.
The players learn new tricks, find the best gear, and do some pretty incredible things. So we learn from them and will even make the Spriggan harder to maintain the challenge.”
The Spriggan remains the only arena boss at launch
I was interested in when players would encounter difficult boss opponents like the Spriggan. David explained that this would already be the case from level 20. So, it becomes relatively quick to advance into elite areas. Early in the game, there is already a grizzly bear that is considered one of the tough monsters. To conquer it, a group and cleverness are required. The bear belongs to one of the four enemy families in New World.
Those who want to declare war depend on the governor’s goodwill
Some features of war, meaning the massive battles, are still somewhat nebulous to me. Especially the selection of people for the war left me with a few question marks, and I know that I’m not alone in this.
MeinMMO:We know how the war works: There is a governor who selects 50 players for the PvP battle. Some people have asked how that works in detail. Will the governor always only choose his friends, or can solo players also join the fight without an invitation? Or how does it work?
David Verfaillie: “The way it works is that when war is declared, a war station appears in the town. And anyone who belongs to the corresponding attacking or defending faction can sign up to be either an attacker or a defender. So anyone can sign up who belongs to the appropriate faction.
Then the governor receives the list of all registered players and can select who he wants to help defend. I think governors are interested in maintaining control. Therefore, I think it is in their interest to choose players who they believe can best help in defense or attack. They will often choose people they know or high-level players.
Players who want to join but are not part of that can start their own company and declare war. Anyone can do that. And then they have control over who gets to choose and who goes to war.”

During the PC Gaming Show, Amazon showcased a new trailer for New World, providing a deeper insight into the combat.
In PvE wars, chance decides who goes into battle
MeinMMO: Now I have to imagine the player who is never chosen saying: “I will now start my own company and then I will attack you!”
David Verfaillie: “That’s pretty much what we hope for. In New World, in an open-world MMO, we want to have that kind of gameplay, and instead of creating many different roles, we give players the tools to determine their own fate. So declare your own war and choose your own team.
The other thing I want to mention is the invasions. I think you have seen them in the game. It’s the PvE version of the war where the Corrupted send their army against the players.
This is an opportunity for everyone to participate. The defending governor can select 10 people for the army, but the remaining 40 players will be randomly chosen from all who sign up. It’s a good way for players to get into the war. It’s somewhat less stressful because it’s against AI. So, it’s an opportunity for everyone to get in, play with siege weapons, and see what it’s like to defend a castle.”
MeinMMO:Let’s say there’s a group of people who have now started their own company. They are still at a low level. Now anyone can declare war. What happens when there’s a company that is already large and has good players declares war on a small company that is not very advanced? How does it work from a balance perspective? Is that even possible?
David Verfaillie: “Currently, there are no restrictions in that regard. So anyone can declare war on anyone. What we have implemented, however, is that when you control an area, you must set a time window, thus a war period. This is the period during which other companies can attack you.
The reason for this is that we do not want offline raiding, which exists in other games, and we want it to be a fair fight. So a time is set and that’s it. If you are a defending company controlling multiple areas, you may only set one time window.
This means that the more you spread out, the fewer people from your own circle of friends you can use for each war if you are being attacked in multiple places at the same time. We wanted to mimic real wars where: The more you spread out, the more borders you have to defend and the more dangerous it becomes for you.
And as we have experienced in history, if you try to grow too big too quickly, you usually fall apart again.”
Do you want to learn more about New World? Here you will find:
Achieving the perfect balance at launch won’t happen
PvE wars, PvP massive battles, boss arenas.
Building economy and cities. Gaining land.
A comprehensive progression system with weapons as classes, attributes, consumables that grant buffs.
Open world with hidden lore and “Points of Interest”.
New World contains a lot now. I began to wonder how players should learn all of this. Turns out, the progress of your character is closely tied to the design of your equipment.
MeinMMO:We talked about progress, and I remember that you wanted to introduce players slowly to new features. What does that look like?
David Verfaillie: “It starts very early in the game. The gearing and progression part of MMOs is such an essential part of the games. It’s one of the things that players love so much. They see the steady progress of their characters. Therefore, our gear progression starts very early and includes many different elements.
One of the more important elements is what we call “perks.” These are random attributes that can be rolled for the equipment, and you can have up to three of them. Low-level armor will have no perks or only one perk, while later in the game, players get the opportunity to receive more and stronger perks. But we introduce the system to players early on. The perks are a way to specialize and enhance your gear.
Another system that we use and that is quite new is socketing gemstones in weapons and armor. When you have equipment with sockets, you can pull it out and mine gemstones. And there’s a crafting tree for gemstones with skills that allow you to refine the stones and add them to your equipment.
This allows you to make weapons and armor even stronger by adding various attribute bonuses. This starts quite early in the game. You can also craft gemstones at a low level, and they will level up just like the weapons do.”
The progress in New World has become increasingly complex over time, and more mechanics have been added.
MeinMMO:It sounds like a paradise for people who like to experiment with their builds, but also like a balancing hell considering all the various mechanics and elements of the game. With different weapons, with gemstones, with bonuses from consumables, and so on. How can you maintain balance there?
David Verfaillie: “It’s extremely difficult to keep this game balanced correctly. As you said, there are tons of flexible components in the system. We have the armor, we have weapon mastery, we have all the consumables like food and potions, and it’s a system without classes. This means players can choose their own combinations, and the possibilities are nearly endless. So it’s very challenging to keep balance within the game.
What we’ve done is let the alpha run for about 18 weeks now. We receive new data every week and continuously adjust it to the desired balance. I wish I could promise that we’ll achieve perfect balance at launch, but that won’t happen. It will be good, and the gameplay will be fun, but I think we’ll always be committed to continually adjusting it.”
MeinMMO:Finally, a question that might induce a chuckle. Do you remember an exploit from the alpha that was really surprising and funny?
David Verfaillie: “Okay, this might not be super funny, but it’s one of those things nobody expected. In our game, you can send money to other players. So if you have a friend who just started and you want to give him some gold, you can do that. One of the players discovered an exploit. If you sent someone a negative amount of gold, the number overflowed, and they received 800 billion or so.
Fortunately, we raised the alarm immediately when this happened, but during the alpha, there were still some people who were very wealthy for a while.”
MeinMMO:That would have been madness for the economy. Thank you for the interview and your time. We’ll see each other again at the latest in the beta.
David Verfaillie: “It was a pleasure talking to you, Leya.”
Note: The interview has been slightly shortened. Parts of the conversation have been allocated to a MeinMMO news article about the beta launch. You can read about the goals of New World’s beta there:
Who can participate? On the official New World website, you can register for the beta. Pre-order customers of New World will automatically take part in the closed beta.
The launch will be bumpy, but New World has great potential
New World has been a new open-world MMO from the West for a long time. A large influx of players is to be expected. Experienced MMO players know that there will be technical problems. Server capacities often reach their limits. In addition, New World is expected to be huge in its systems. Balancing PvE and PvP, the many random possibilities in the equipment, the nearly endless options for developing weapons as classes – this will still be unbalanced at the beginning.
However, this is where the great potential of New World lies. Especially players who love to tinker with their build and create their perfect equipment will have a lot of joy here. Because the MMO invites you to experiment – just like to discover the open world. There is no other game I’m more excited about in 2020 than New World.

At the PC Gaming Show, Dean Hall, the creator of DayZ, announced a new survival game. Icarus takes place in a space setting and occurs in short sessions.
What is Icarus? In Icarus, you descend from a space station to planets to complete missions. The special thing about this is that these missions must be completed within a certain time frame.
These sessions can last only 10 minutes, but also up to 48 hours of actual gameplay. You can complete them alone or with friends. Hall compared the group formation system to GTA Online before a heist.
In addition to the time pressure, the usual survival elements like oxygen, food, and the hostile environment play a role. Unlike in DayZ, however, you can be revived by other players if you should die from lack of oxygen or due to combat.
Only when time runs out is your session definitely lost.

How does the game play out? PC Gamer compares Icarus to Escape from Tarkov: You go in, do what you need to do, and then leave again (via PC Gamer).
With the gathered resources, you can upgrade your spaceship, the landing craft, and ground vehicles, research new technologies, and build futuristic weapons.
According to Hall, the game is meant to be exciting primarily because of the time pressure. If you don’t make it back to the drop ship in time, your character is defeated, and all progress with that character is lost.
While you are on a mission, you can build a temporary base. But soon you will have to leave the planet again.
When will Icarus be released? The release of the game is currently scheduled for 2021. There is no exact date yet.
The cooperative shooter Remnant: From the Ashes was the big surprise success in the summer of 2019. After the first DLC was well received, the developers want to repeat their success in 2020 with the 2nd DLC “Subject 2923”. To do this, they have developed a complete mini-campaign along with a new planet and other enemies.
Remnant: From the Ashes was the surprise hit in the summer of 2019 on Steam. The game quickly gathered nearly 50,000 players as a peak. In the following months, the player count declined again, but with the new DLC “Swamps of Corsus” in April, the player numbers rose significantly again.
On Steam, Remnant rightly sits at 84% positive reviews.
However, the developers do not want to be satisfied with that. Instead, they are planning a repetition of their success with the 2nd DLC for 2020. But what is included in the new DLC and what do the developers have to say about the game’s previous successes?
Tough co-op battles against disgusting monsters – that’s Remnant!
Remnant: From the Ashes – Everything in the game and the update DLCs
What does Remnant offer? Remnant is a cooperative shooter where you face off against grotesque plant monsters in randomly generated levels. This “Seed” (English “Root”) has taken over the Earth. The last humans live hidden and only risk dangerous forays out of their shelters.
Throughout the game, you blast and hack your way through various monsters together with up to two other players and really tough bosses. They are truly difficult to defeat and thus, Remnant is often compared to hardcore games like Dark Souls.
Anyone wanting to achieve something in Remnant: From the Ashes must bring skill and frustration tolerance.
This is how Remnant evolved: After its release in August 2019, a large patch soon followed in September with the highly anticipated “Adventure Mode”. In this mode, you could revisit the already known locations and wreak havoc in randomly generated levels.
In October, there was again a larger update that further increased the already hefty difficulty level. Because with the “Hardcore Mode,” permadeath was also introduced to the game. If you die in this mode, you lose everything!
This is what was included in the first major DLC in 2020: The developers will add even more in April 2020, when the large DLC “Swamps of Corsus” is released. It contains these features:
New gear and abilities
A new planet full of swamps and the “elves” living there, bizarrely merged with insects, posing a new threat.
A new game mode called Survival

This is what awaits you in the current DLC for Remnant.
Especially the last mode is well received by players, and this even surprises the developers. In an interview with MeinMMO, design director John Pearl revealed that they did not expect such great popularity for the new mode:
To be honest, [our biggest surprise] was that people received the survival mode so enthusiastically. They really got into it. I mean, we knew that it would be a fun new mode. But when you release a game and then 8 months later you release a completely new mode, you don’t know how the players will react.
It could be that people say: “I already finished the game, I won’t play this anymore.” But people really took the bait, that was great!
However, things did not go so well: However, there were also problems with the latest DLC. Because the new story with the swamp elves was not clearly written and was rather hidden for many players. You have to start the adventure mode to access it and cannot play it as a regular campaign.
The developers want to improve this in the upcoming DLC “Subject 2923”.
Subject 2923 – How Remnant aims to repeat its big success in 2020
When will the 2nd DLC come? Subject 2923 will be the second major DLC for Remnant. It is set to release, despite all adversities, on August 20, 2020. According to our interviewee John Pearl, this date should still hold, as the developer company Gunfire Games is a small studio and was therefore able to switch to home office effectively and quickly. A strong internet infrastructure in the region also played a major role.
Fat rats are part of the deal here.
What’s the name about? When the name “Subject 2923” comes up in the interview, I, Jürgen Horn from MeinMMO, ask in surprise what it means. John Pearl just laughs and gives a cryptic answer:
Yes, it’s actually a reference to something that is already in the game. Our lore fans from the community will surely start piecing together the clues. We wanted to create a mystery, and when players play it, they will hopefully understand it, and it will make sense. This was even present in the prequel, Chronos.
As I said, lore fans will pick up on this immediately, and I look forward to the speculation about what it exactly means.
Killer Rats and Killer Pumpkins – What’s in the new DLC for Remnant
What is the new DLC about? In Subject 2923, the main goal is to finish the story of Remnant. The storyline of the DLC starts about a year after the end of the main campaign. The “Seed” is significantly weakened but not completely gone. There remains a last anchor that binds the monster plants to the Earth. Therefore, players search for answers in remote, rural areas.

Here you can see the rats and new settings in the video.
In a preview video, I can see a spooky farm where horrific new seed creatures are wandering around. They strongly resemble the pumpkin monsters popular at Halloween. But according to developer John Pearl, that was pure coincidence; they simply wanted to create a spooky horror look.
Later, it goes into an underground military facility where even more horrifying seed monsters roam. This is the second scenario of the DLC, the base that likely houses one last gruesome secret of the seed.
This is what the rats look like: But the last video shown to me presents a completely different scenery. Instead of the familiar areas of Earth and the seed creatures, I see an icy snowy landscape filled with rickety shanties. Humanoid rats scurry around, wielding crossbows and spears.
It almost seems as if I’m suddenly seeing a post-apocalyptic version of the Warhammer Fantasy game Vermintide. In this game, the rat-like Skaven are the major opponents. The rats here in the video look almost exactly the same.
Even flying rat creatures are involved.
This harsh break – first creepy plant monsters and old military facilities, then suddenly an excursion to winter rat land – seems strange to me, and I immediately ask John Pearl what this is about:
They are a race of large, humanoid rats. They are the Urikki. And that’s where you go in the new DLC, the planet Reisum. That’s where these giant rats live. They are somewhat Viking-like in how they fight and the kind of buildings they live in. They will surely be a good addition to the Remnant world.
The rats and their world are somehow connected to the seed and its presence on Earth. But why do the developers choose rat beings as the new antagonists? John Pearl has a nice anecdote about that as well:
Humanoid giant rats have something. You mentioned the Skaven from Warhammer earlier. They were at least subconsciously our inspiration. And there was actually an old piece of artwork from the early development phase. It featured a humanoid giant walking down the street, surrounded by man-sized rats. It was kind of iconic for the game, we just had to pick that up again.
Some of the rats will be real big.
The further content of Subject 2923
What else is new? The new DLC therefore offers three new scenarios, one of which, the large rat planet Reisum, represents a completely new biome. According to the developers, this DLC is not just an update but a complete mini-campaign.
It also contains a massive amount of additional content in the DLC. This includes:
New enemies
New bosses
New traits
New items and equipment
New weapons and armors
So anyone enjoying Remnant should get even more reasons to keep playing the game with the new DLC. The developers are clearly focusing on more of what made the game great in 2019: wacky, creepy settings, intense fights, and brutal boss fights.
How to get into the new story? According to the developers, you don’t have to finish the old campaign first if you want to play the new story from the DLC. As a buyer of the DLC, you can jump straight into Subject 2923. This is convenient and useful for newcomers, even if, according to John Pearl, it doesn’t make sense from a story standpoint.
Magical rats are also involved.
Are there new modes in the DLC? There will be no new modes, such as a PvP mode, in the foreseeable future. Survival remains the only new mode for now. Especially regarding PvP, the developers are clear that it would require too much balancing effort and that Remnant is simply designed as a co-op game.
However, you can replay the new areas, like the rat planet Reisum, the military base, and the creepy outskirts, as often as you like in adventure mode. Even in the popular survival mode, the new content will be present. So anyone who prefers to fight rats rather than plants and swamp elves will soon have that opportunity.
Is it worth getting into Remnant again in 2020?
Remnant: From the Ashes scored particularly well with its fun co-op mode, enjoyable gunplay, and RPG elements with classes and traits. The tough boss fights and the hunt for better gear motivated thousands of players at the time and became even more intense in survival and hardcore mode.
The new DLC Subject 2923 picks up exactly at this point. It does not bring fundamental innovations like another game mode. But it complements the already strong mix with a complete “mini-campaign” containing new worlds, enemies, and tons of new items to collect.
So anyone looking for a challenging co-op shooter that shines with a unique atmosphere and bizarre enemies can confidently jump in here. The same goes for players who have already completed Remnant and have not been active since then. It’s also worth coming back for you, especially since the story finally finds its end and you may finally be able to drive away the seed.
Strengths and weaknesses of Remnant: From the Ashes
Pro
Creepy atmosphere
Fun gunplay
Bizarre monsters, from plants to swamp elves to killer rats
Brutal boss fights
Very fun in co-op with two friends
Alternative hardcore and survival modes
Contra
Possibly too difficult for casual gamers
Solo significantly more boring than in a team
Much grind and repetition – not everyone’s taste
Hit potential (Promising expansion)
The cooperative shooter Remnant: From the Ashes impressed me even in an early beta at GamesCom 2018. The tough boss fights and the shooting against the bizarre monsters are clear unique selling points of the shooter and are rightly praised by very positive Steam reviews.
Therefore, it fits very well that Remnant does not try to reinvent itself but remains true to the core elements of its success. Therefore, we are now getting more of what everyone already likes. I find the new world with the rats especially promising. Because it will not only be featured in the campaign that can eventually be completed but also serve as a permanent occupation in adventure or hardcore mode.

The MMO elements were scaled back, allowing players to recruit companions for missions in towns. Additionally, the character progression was adjusted to be linear again, like in the previous Torchlight and Torchlight 2.

The streamer Forkgirl lost her channel on Twitch a week ago. At first, she thought a copyright violation was the reason, but now she knows she received a ban for nudity. She does not want to accept this. She criticizes a new naked rule for body painting. The clause is far too vague.
This is what the streamer does on Twitch: The streamer Forkgirl is a body painter. She goes topless, applies a base that covers her breasts, turns on the camera, and paints her upper body to look like a famous character from pop culture, such as a heroine from the action MOBA Smite or a character from the shooter Valorant.
During her streams, which sometimes last 10 or 12 hours, she has an average of about 100 to 150 viewers.
This is Forkgirl as a character from Valorant.
This is her history with bans: As a body painter, the streamer has frequently come into conflict with the rules on Twitch:
In February 2020, her Twitch channel was permanently banned. The ban was lifted by Twitch after her case went through the media. However, she was warned to always keep her breasts covered. At that time, the streamer demanded new, clear rules.
Forkgirl was banned in February 2020 for this outfit from the game Smite.
This is why the streamer was banned: Last week, Forkgirl complained that Twitch had deleted her channel without comment. In the meantime, she thought she had been the victim of copyright strikes sent out by Twitch in the last week because music that was copyrighted could be heard in old Twitch clips.
However, she now has certainty: Twitch did indeed ban her because of her body painting.
The streamer is incredibly upset about this.
She says this ban was unjustified. Although Twitch updated the rules for body painting, they subsequently inserted a completely vague clause to ultimately ban any body painter they want (via twitter).
When body painters stop painting, they can be banned
This is the clause in question: Twitch has indeed added a clause regarding “body art.” It now states that the exception rules for body art only apply as long as the artist is actively performing the body art (via twitch)
Artists are only allowed “temporary interruptions” and only during active painting sessions or to model the final result.
This means: As soon as Twitch thinks a body painter is doing many things besides painting, the normal nudity rules apply, and Twitch can ban the body painter if, for example, the lower part of the breast is visible.
Streamer accuses Twitch of arbitrariness and injustice
The streamer says: They have always followed the rules. She has merely stopped painting to do normal streamer things:
She greeted guests
Showed her previous work
Held giveaways
Bit into a bagel or ate a few grapes
Did similar things that one does during a 12-hour stream
According to the streamer, Twitch is using the new clause to issue “false and inconsistent bans.” As a body painter, one has asked for clear rules without gray areas; Twitch provided those, but then inserted “this thing” so they can ban body painters at any time.
The streamer says the ban is devastating for her. Her channel has been taken from her unjustly. Again.
She is so sad and disappointed and does not understand why this keeps happening to her.
This streamer also had troubles with the nudity rules.
Not only body painters have trouble with the clothing rules on Twitch. The streamer Emma “Swebliss” Bliss also had issues with Twitch regarding the rules.
She said she would be banned for wearing outfits that are completely normal and with which other women can appear without any consequences.
