On December 2nd, the 5th season of Chapter 2 of the Battle Royale shooter Fortnite started. A big event introduced the new season, and along with a new battle pass, there are plenty of exotic weapons. We provide you with an overview of all exotic weapons and their locations.
What are exotic weapons? Exotic and mythical weapons deal significantly higher damage than regular weapons. In previous seasons, there were already bosses who carried exotic weapons as loot. If you want to avoid the fight, you can stay away from the bosses in the new season and acquire the deadliest weapons in Fortnite for gold.
Where are the exotic weapons located on the map? At seven different locations on the new map of Season 5 in Fortnite, there are the mythical and exotic weapons. Notably, there are no locations west of the Zero Point Desert. You should keep this in mind when planning your rotation.
Exotic weapons cost gold bars: To get the exotic weapons, you need to have at least 1,225 gold bars. We show you the best ways to obtain the precious metal in the Fortnite guide to Bounties and Gold Bars.
Also helpful for farming gold bars are the locations of the NPCs, which have changed with the start of Season 5. You can interact with the NPCs, and with a bit of luck, they also have bounty missions for you.

In Genshin Impact, a new event is underway. We will tell you how the flying challenge works and why you should participate.
Currently, a new event is taking place in Genshin Impact, where you can snag plenty of rewards. The coveted Original Resin is also available, which you need for wishes to get new characters. Additionally, there are Mora and materials for upgrades. We will tell you how the flying challenge proceeds and what you need to keep in mind.
What do you have to do? Most players are likely familiar with similar missions from various challenges in the game world. You have to glide along a marked path while adhering to a time limit. However, it’s important to collect several golden coins along the way to achieve a better score. Your score ultimately determines your medal, and thus, which rewards you will receive.
You can access the challenge through the event menu.
But don’t worry, you can try as many times as you want to get the gold medal.
How to participate? Once you reach Adventure Rank 20, simply open the event menu. Select “Flying Challenge” and click on “Mission Details.” There you will see all the paths listed. Choose a path of your choice (currently, only the first one is available) and click on “To the Challenge.” Now the point on your map will be marked, which you just need to visit to start the challenge.
On the map, you will see right away where the challenge is.
New abilities while flying: To keep gliding in the challenge from getting too boring, there are some special abilities to make things a bit more exciting:
Updraft: Pressing a key allows you to create an updraft that catapults your character upward a few meters. This way, you can regain height and protect yourself from landing on the ground.
Aerial Sprint: If you have collected enough elemental particles, you can activate a small sprint to shoot forward a few meters without losing altitude.
Does flying cost resin? No. The flying challenge does not require resin; you can participate as often as you like without having to spend additional resources. However, you must have reached Adventure Rank 20 to participate in the event. Most players should have already reached that.
Every day, rewards await – such as Original Resin.
How difficult is the event? The difficulty level on the first day is quite low. Most players are likely to receive the gold medal within the first or second run, thus snagging all rewards for that day. However, it is expected that the flying routes will become a bit more challenging in the coming days.
Is there more to come? Yes. Every day in the next six days, another flying course will be unlocked, offering its own rewards. Once all paths are accessible, they will remain available until Monday, December 14 at 04:00 AM. After that, the event and, consequently, the opportunity to obtain rewards will end. So, you should complete all flying routes by next weekend at the latest.
Have you already snagged all the rewards while gliding? Or are you struggling with the flying course on the first day?
FIFA 21 now has standalone NextGen versions, and we at MeinMMO will tell you what the upgrades for PS5 and Xbox Series have to offer.
What kind of upgrade is this? For the newly released consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, EA Sports has now provided its own NextGen versions of FIFA 21.
We will show you the 5 biggest innovations of the NextGen versions of FIFA 21.
These innovations are brought by the NextGen versions of FIFA 21
What’s new now: With the NextGen versions of FIFA 21 for PS5 and Xbox Series, you get updated versions of the football simulations with improvements in the areas of graphics, presentation, and loading times. However, there are no new modes or content.
How you can download the new versions will be revealed here:
What’s new: When you start the game for the first time, you will be served a stylish new intro sequence that showcases the graphical innovations of the NextGen versions. In this, you see Liverpool and Paris meet and enter the field with ball kids.

What’s new: As could already be admired in the new intro, there are some graphic improvements in the NextGen versions of FIFA 21. Particularly, the facial models of well-known players are now significantly more detailed.
However, especially the hair of some superstars has been revised. EA strongly promotes the strand-hair technology, which can render the hairstyles of the players even more accurately and finely.
A good overview of the graphic innovations is offered by this video from EA:

4. New celebrations
What’s new: On reddit, players have already discovered a new celebration in the NextGen versions. This is played when a winning goal is scored in the last minutes of a match.
It looks intense, and you can watch it here:

What’s new: Right at the start, the NextGen version surprises with an unusual new camera perspective called “Gamecam.” This is much closer to the action and moves dynamically. However, whether it appeals to every player remains to be seen.
In the menu, you can still select your favorite camera perspective as usual. In this gameplay video, you can take a look at the new “Gamecam”:

The developer Christian Dailey was responsible for leading the reboot of Anthem : EA’s failed online shooter was supposed to resurrect as “Anthem Next” or “Anthem 2.0”. Dailey led a team from BioWare in Austin, Texas, but now BioWare needs him for Dragon Age. This means Anthem loses its 5th or 6th head in a row – but who’s counting?
Dailey wrote the blog posts about important changes to Anthem and regularly shared on his personal Twitter account what the team was currently working on. There was often Concept Art from Anthem to see. Ultimately, he was the developer who served as a glimmer of hope that Anthem might return.
This is Casey Hudson. He was the first head of Anthem, about 5 heads before Dailey.
Why is Dailey leaving? Dailey is being “promoted away” from his position. Because two important employees have left BioWare, Dailey now has to lead the development of Dragon Age 4, arguably BioWare’s most important new release.
He describes his departure from Anthem 2.0 as a “difficult decision.”

What happens now with Anthem 2.0? This is certainly a setback for the project. But it seems that the overhaul of Anthem is supposed to continue. Dailey says: The decision to leave Anthem is easier for him because the team of Anthem and its leadership are so talented.
So it looks like development will continue, even though it is unclear who will now take over communication with players and who will lead the team.
In any case, this is a setback for Anthem. The project was no longer mentioned in the latest financial reports from EA.
This is Mark Darrah, he was the head of Anthem before and during the release.
Anthem suffers from a “curse” – heads keep leaving
What’s behind it: Anthem seems to suffer from a curse at the leadership level. Almost all who were responsible for Anthem or held the role of a “frontman” were only there for a short time:
According to an insider report from the US site Kotaku, Anthem was already leaderless for a long time during development: Originally, Mass Effect veteran Casey Hudson was supposed to lead the development of Anthem, but he left in 2014.
At E3 2017, Aaryn Flynn presented Anthem – but shortly thereafter, he went to the SpatialOS wonder company Improbable and allegedly took some top people from BioWare with him.
As development stalled under Game Director Jon Warner, Mark Darrah came in, who was supposed to drive the team and pushed Anthem across the finish line until release. However, Darrah left Anthem after the launch to lead Dragon Age 4.
His colleague, Lead Producer Mike Gamble, also important at Anthem, left along with Darrah.
This was Ben Irving at his appearance at E3. Shortly thereafter, he was gone.
The last head was indeed Christian Dailey, who seemed to take the helm in February 2020 – and he is now leaving as well.
It seems as though there is a curse hanging over Anthem.
Anthem 2.0 has several questions to answer anyway. Because it is unclear how EA intends to make money with the game again. DLCs have really been ruled out.
Apparently, the position to save Anthem is not so coveted, when there is constantly a new person in the head seat.
BioWare seems to be getting into choppy waters right now, leading to questions about how high Anthem 2.0 stands on the priority list.
The item system of Anthem is changing.
One of the new systems already introduced for Anthem 2.0 is the loot system. This was one of the major weaknesses in the original game. In Anthem 2.0, everything is supposed to be better:
Level 42 in Pokémon GO requires you to evolve Eevee, use berries, and make excellent throws. We will show you tips and tricks on how to quickly reach Level 42.
This is Level 42: Since December 1, 2020, you can reach Level 50. However, you must first complete numerous tasks and collect XP.
Those who have completed Level 41 and its tasks must progress through Level 42. You need a lot of XP and additionally, you must complete 4 tasks.
How to evolve Eevee into each of its 7 evolutions: The Eevee evolutions can be tricky. First, you can evolve as many Eevees as you can until you get Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon.
After that, you will need a Moss and a Glacial module. With that, you can evolve Eevee into Leafeon and Glaceon.
Lastly, you will need Espeon and Umbreon. For this, you must walk 10 kilometers with Eevee each time, find 2 candies and then evolve it as a buddy. During the day, it becomes Espeon and at night, it becomes Umbreon.
We recommend that you take Eevee along as your buddy before you reach Level 41. Walk the 10 kilometers and then evolve the Eevees when you need them for Level 42.
Another way to evolve Eevee is the name trick. This only works once. Here is the overview:
How to use 15 items during evolution: This quest is actually quite easy. You can use any evolution item available to complete the task.
Simply enter “item” in the Pokémon box as a search command. Then you will see all monsters that you can evolve with an item.
How to achieve excellent throws: This should be the easiest exercise. You can especially use Pokémon with large circles. For example, Makuhita, Pantimos, or Seemops are suitable for this.
How to use 200 berries on Pokémon: Just throw a berry on each monster. If you generally don’t find many Pokémon, then you should use a Nanab or Razz Berry on each Pokémon. Just throw a Poké Ball. If the monster breaks free, you can simply throw another berry. Each berry thrown counts – regardless of whether you catch the monster or not.
You might find some Pokémon in your local nests as well. We will show you a list of all the nest Pokémon that are currently available:
In Fortnite, a lot of new characters landed on the map. You can interact with these NPCs and accept bounties, for example. Where are they?
These are the NPCs: Season 5 of Chapter 2 brought many changes to Fortnite. This includes not only new locations on the map but also new characters.
Among others, the Mandalorian is roaming the Fortnite map, from whom you can get special weapons if you defeat him. He is located at his ship, the Razor Crest. But the Star Wars bounty hunter isn’t the only one you can encounter now.
Where are the characters of the new season hiding?
Scattered across the map, you will find various characters that you can talk to. There you can:
Important: The characters have different properties and only offer a selection of the options. But where are the NPCs?
All NPCs in Fortnite and where to find them
Currently, including the Mandalorian, there are 40 NPCs that you can encounter on the map. These are largely old skins that you still remember from before – and with which you can now interact.
On fortnite.gg, you can view an interactive map that shows where each NPC can be found.
Important: Some NPCs have multiple spawn points, so they are not always found in the same place. For example, “Fishstick” may sometimes not be at its usual spot at Coral Castle but hanging out at Craggy Cliffs. We summarize these locations for you in a list below the map.

The MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) introduced its items from the Crown Store in December. Included is an old acquaintance with a drinking problem as a houseguest.
What is this item? The new item is a housing item that will soon be available in the Crown Store (via elderscrollsonline.com). The perpetually drunk Alfiq Sereyne will be available from December 21 to January 7 at 4 PM on all platforms.
The price is still unknown. However, the current houseguest Hroltar the Boastful is available for 1500 crowns. It is therefore likely that Sereyne will be priced similarly.
What is a houseguest anyway? A houseguest in ESO is somewhat like a living interior decoration. You can set character paths for the figures, allowing them to move around your house. You can even determine their walking speed and direction.
You will soon be able to do this with the drunk cult cat Sereyne and create a cozy spot for her to get drunk. She is also one of the funniest NPCs in ESO:
What is special about this NPC? Sereyne is an Alfiq, one of the many subspecies of Khajiit. She looks like an ordinary cat, but is a powerful sorceress. As much talent as she has, unfortunately, she drinks just as much.
She is known from the quest “Birds of a Feather” in Elsweyr. This is one of MeinMMO author Larissa Then’s favorite quests in ESO. There, the otherwise very capable mage is supposed to help you with a mission, but due to her high alcohol level, she brings about a fair amount of chaos.
For example, a teleportation fails, and you must find your comrades again. Additionally, Sereyne likes to vomit while casting spells, and she has to do that quite often during the mission. You can see how funny this is in action in the video:

From minute 17:20, you will find a very nice scene
Until we know what it all looks like in housing, we will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer. The drunk Sereyne will only be available from December 21. However, it is certain that you can create a character path for her and talk to her. We can be curious about what she has to say and whether she stumbles while walking.
What else is in the showcase for December? In addition to the two houseguests, there are more items available for purchase in the Crown Store this December:
The House of Shalidor’s Concealed Realm
The Mount Frostmare
The Companion Dwarven Guar from Sovngarde
Various Outfit Styles
Winter Hats
However, you will need to pay crowns for these, which is the real-money currency in ESO. If you want to know how to make the most of the Crown Store, we have a guide from MeinMMO for you. However, you might also have some crowns left over from your ESO+ membership that you want to invest in the funny Sereyne.

In Destiny 2, Guardians can rejoice, as the dungeon “Prophecy” is returning earlier than expected.
This is the good news: Bungie announced in their weekly blog post that the popular dungeon “Prophecy” is celebrating its return. Next week, on December 8, all Guardians will be able to venture back into the crazy parallel dimension.
All Guardians? Yes, the dungeon is not tied to an expansion like Beyond Light or the ownership of the current Season 12.
Simultaneously with the re-release of the dungeon comes:
This is what you need to know about the loot: The Prophecy dungeon provides you with powerful rewards upon first reaching a checkpoint each week. Completing it the first time in a week grants even the rare top loot. Only through such rewards can you acquire equipment that brings you level advantages beyond 1,250.
So if you want to get raid-ready or push your level for the Iron Banner, you should plan on one run per week. After all, it’s not just the high-level loot that tempts, but also the crazy atmosphere.
This loot awaits you: Two armor sets wait exclusively in the Prophecy dungeon:
The DAITO Forge gear
The updated “Trials of the Nine” armor
These weapons can be found:
The updated Ikelos hand cannon and the Ikelos shotgun – Both weapons can intrinsically create powerful Warmind Cells.
Additionally, there are a few less special legendary weapons in the loot pool.
Why was the Prophecy dungeon removed at all?
The dungeon was new to Destiny 2 with Season 11. With the release of the following season and the DLC, the activity was removed from the game. When this was announced, players were outraged and complained about FOMO.
This is the reason: Bungie then intervened and explained that there was no artificial scarcity or sinister plan behind it. The issue was that updates were made to the game, the engine, and mechanics in the background with Beyond Light.
The dungeon simply was not compatible with the “new” Destiny 2. Bungie then promised to hurry up with the reintroduction of Prophecy – and they kept their word.
What are dungeons in Destiny 2? Dungeons are popular PvE activities that you can tackle with a team of up to 3 Guardians. Think of it as a sort of mini-raid. There are also smaller puzzles, some tricky jumping sections, and tough boss fights against powerful enemies. Additionally, the activities showcase a unique atmosphere.
The bosses in the dungeons are impressively staged.
Prophecy is the only one of three dungeons that provides loot at the current level standard.
The other two dungeons are:
The Shattered Throne – Here you must try to break an old curse in a dark fantasy world. Everything feels very gloomy and like a distorted fairy tale.
The Pit of Heresy – The dungeon takes you into the depths of the Moon, to the heart of a Hive Sanctuary. If you’ve always wanted to storm an orc fortress in Moria with SciFi weapons, you can live out your fantasy in Destiny.
Are you excited that you will soon be able to enter the twisted world of Prophecy again? Which dungeon is your favorite in Destiny 2? Let us know in the comments.

However, it seems that the star of the God-of-War franchise, Kratos, will receive his own skin in Fortnite. Leaks from dataminers and an ominous tweet from PlayStation suggest this.
Warning, spoilers! We show you here in the article how the new skin looks in the leak. If you don’t want to see this, you should not continue reading.
This is what the Kratos skin looks like
This is what the dataminer shows: On Twitter, dataminer HYPEX shares a photo of Kratos. Along with the announcement for Season 5 in Chapter 2. Apparently, the skin will still be part of Fortnite in the ongoing season.

This is what PlayStation shows: The official PlayStation account shared an audio log on Twitter. You can hear the Fortnite character Jonesy, who is also featured in the story trailer for Season 5.
You can hear Jonesy criticizing himself for researching something that he brought to the island. You would quickly regret it when you find out things you don’t want to know. “Like, for example: The next guy literally defeated several gods! With his bare hands. In a fit of uncontrollable rage.”

When does the skin come out? The confirmation of the skin and an official release date are yet to come from Epic Games. Dataminer Hypex explains that it will happen “soon”.
Kra… who? You don’t know Kratos? No problem. We explain the background here on MeinMMO. The action-adventure “God of War” from 2018 ranks 5th of the most popular PS4 games on Metacritic.
Players take on the role of Kratos, a former Spartan general. His adventures take place in a fantasy world based on Greek mythology. The combo-based battles as well as puzzle and climbing elements from the franchise’s predecessors can also be found here.
During the game, you must survive yourself and show the young Atreus how to survive. Atreus is Kratos’ son.
A fresh leak reveals a new character from Genshin Impact. What kind of 5-star hero is approaching us?
In Genshin Impact, it’s all about the numerous characters you can obtain through the gacha system and then continually improve. Players are increasingly eager for new information about future characters that might appear with an upcoming patch. Now there is a potential new leak that shows a possible Pyro character.
What kind of character is this? Allegedly, Tohama is an upcoming 5-star character. He is expected to be extremely rare, and it will likely take a lot of wishes to pull the character from his banner. He will use the Pyro element. Visually, he appears to be a young adult, similar to characters like Tartaglia, Kaeya, or Zhongli. You can see an initial image of him here:
What speaks against the leak? In the past, there was a supposed leak about the character Tohama, but he looked quite different then and had white hair, for instance. Whether the character’s design has changed, one of the two leaks is simply a fake, or Genshin Impact will introduce skins for the characters in the future cannot be said at this time.
On December 10, the beta of League of Legends: Wild Rift starts for Europe, including Germany. Anyone can participate in the beta for free and try out the MOBA. MeinMMO editor Alexander Leitsch is particularly excited about the LoL Mobile – due to the short matches and fair gameplay.
Otherwise, it is supposed to provide the familiar League of Legends feeling. You compete in 5v5 matches with and against other players, take on the role of champions, farm XP and minions, and can purchase items during a match to become stronger.

Who is Wild Rift interesting for? If you are already actively playing LoL, you should definitely check out Wild Rift. After all, it is basically the same game on a new device.
But Wild Rift is aimed just as much at newcomers and gamers who have not tried LoL so far:
You no longer need a PC, which especially benefits console owners or mobile gamers
You don’t have to plan as much time, as the matches are significantly shorter
You can access the game from anywhere
Wild Rift completely avoids Pay2Win and time blockers, as seen in other mobile games
I myself have been playing LoL for almost 10 years and was at Platinum level for a while. However, in recent years I have lacked the time to experience the MOBA intensively. That’s why I am so excited about Wild Rift.
About the author: Alexander Leitsch is mainly responsible for MMORPGs at MeinMMO. However, he is fascinated by mobile games.
LoL for on the go and on the couch – Perfect for me
What makes Wild Rift so good for me? Because of the shorter rounds, which I can also comfortably play on the couch, in bed or while on the go with good Wi-Fi, the game is particularly appealing to me.
Simply sitting at the PC for 25 to 50 minutes to play a round of League of Legends is often no longer possible.
Even the mobile version of Teamfight Tactics led me to actively play Auto Chess to LoL. I can comfortably manage several rounds per week there.
TFT I now play more on my smartphone than on the PC.
As a cool side effect, Wild Rift also offers daily login rewards. Through these, you can earn in-game currency for new champions, as well as specific champions directly. For me, a sensible addition.
A fair mobile game: Furthermore, Wild Rift is one of the mobile games that focuses entirely on fairness and avoids annoying elements like time barriers or Pay2Win. Like in the PC game, there are free heroes and others that I can earn through in-game currency.
Instead, I can spend money on prettier skins or cosmetic content like symbols or new emotes in the game.
Interestingly, there were discussions between Riot and Tencent about a mobile version of LoL prior to its release (via Dotesports). After all, the Chinese giant Tencent bought the last shares in Riot Games in 2015 and “owns” the company Riot Games now.
However, Riot decided against cooperation. It was said that Riot had concerns that they “might not be able to transport the LoL feeling from PC to mobile.”
Tencent therefore developed its own game:
In China, it became a mega-hit as “Honor of Kings”
In the West, however, the game could not establish itself as Arena of Valor, also because there were significant version differences between China, the rest of Asia, and the West. In addition, Riot Games raised alarms: They apparently didn’t like that Tencent was competing with their LoL with “Arena of Valor”
The end of the story was: Riot Games gave in and developed a “LoL Mobile” after all.
Arena of Valor looks very similar to LoL and is a big success.
What speaks for the success of Wild Rift? League of Legends is a strong brand for us. In addition, the acceptance of mobile games in the West has significantly increased in recent years. Good titles like Pokémon GO or CoD: Mobile are even very popular here in the West.
With Wild Rift, an interesting new title is added that you should not miss. We at MeinMMO will accompany the release and provide you with all important information.
Everything you currently need to know about Wild Rift can be found here summarized:
With Chrono Odyssey an interesting MMORPG is in the works, which is set to appear on PC, next-gen consoles, and mobile devices. It looks stunning in the first trailer.
What exactly is Chrono Odyssey? The MMORPG comes from the Korean developer studio NPIXEL, which is also developing the online role-playing game Gran Saga, and puts you in the role of a member of a special unit called “Idraiginn”. This unit wages war against 12 gods.
You explore a vast world where many stories await you. These are intended to come to life with impressively realistic graphics.
The first trailer shows what to expect and makes a fantastic impression. However, it remains to be seen how much of it is actual gameplay. The Unreal Engine 4 is used.

The first trailer for Chrono Odyssey looks impressive.
What else does the MMORPG have to offer? Chrono Odyssey is said to feature a special job system that offers unique features. However, what those features are is not revealed in the game’s announcement. There are gigantic realm-versus-realm battles, and the fights are said to be fast-paced and action-packed.
The music comes from Cris Velasco, who contributed to the soundtracks for God of War and Resident Evil 7 and was also involved in the music for StarCraft and Overwatch.
What is a job system?
There are MMORPGs in which players are not restricted to a single class and then develop that class into the endgame. Some games, such as Tree of Savior or Ragnarok Online, allow players to switch to so-called “jobs” over time.
These are subclasses or specializations that allow characters to develop in specific directions. This is then associated with new skills and abilities. Often, there are quite a few such jobs.
How the job system works in Chrono Odyssey is still unknown.
What is special about the project? NPIXEL explains that Chrono Odyssey goes beyond an MMORPG. Comics, novels, and a series based on the story are also planned. The entire project is therefore designed on a grand scale.
In Chrono Odyssey you will likely face giant monsters.
This is how players react to the trailer: On YouTube there are some interesting comments (some translated from Korean):
박준현 writes: “Hopefully it will be as good as the trailer!”
황금올리브 asks: “Can we have it on consoles in this quality?”
김영철 is excited: “Wow, that’s cool!”
Leo jo says: “I need to sign up for the closed beta!”
The Anime G says: “This looks so hot!”
Jay Sabilla says: “This should have been the trailer for FF16!”
젤다의전설야생의숨결2 존버중 has a request: “Please let it not be a mobile game!”
When is the game set to start? There is no release date yet for the interesting MMORPG Chrono Odyssey. However, the testing phase is planned for 2021. The release is to take place on PC, next-gen consoles, and mobile devices. The development team states that graphics and UI will be adapted to each platform.
What do you think of Chrono Odyssey? Would this be an MMORPG that interests you?
The eSports organization Team 33 has announced that they have signed 8-year-old player Joseph Deen as a professional for the online shooter Fortnite . Reportedly, they are paying him a $33,000 signing bonus. The news has raised eyebrows. It seems like a PR stunt or a fake, as the 8-year-old will not be able to play professional Fortnite for another 5 years.
Where does the news come from? Team 33 released the news themselves as a press release through an international service (via prnewswire).
It is said that two years ago, they discovered the 6-year-old Joseph “Gosu 33” Deen as a talent, trained with him almost daily, and have now signed him as a Fortnite professional.
At the contract signing, the now 8-year-old Deen:
received a $33,000 signing bonus (about €27,120)
got a gaming setup worth $5,000 – this setup is supposedly given to every player who signs with Team 33
The young pro says he is living a dream. Other teams did not take him seriously. But Team 33 gave him a chance. Now he is overjoyed.

Fortnite can only be played professionally from the age of 13
What makes the news so strange: It’s actually complete nonsense to make an 8-year-old a Fortnite pro, as he can only start playing Fortnite professionally in 5 years when he is 13 years old.
Before that, he is not allowed to participate in any tournaments. He is just too young.
There have been cases where young players signed a professional contract, but it had to be dissolved. This just happened to a 13-year-old in LoL recently.
Why they would pay an 8-year-old a juicy bonus of $33,000 seems completely strange.
FaZe H1ghsky1 made headlines in 2019 as too young Fortnite pro.
Team in Hollywood with a Sound Studio Villa as Headquarters
What kind of team is it that signs an 8-year-old? That alone is strange. The founding of the eSports organization Team 33 was announced in November 2020, also through their own press release (via prnewswire).
Allegedly, Team 33 is a team based in Hollywood. The “headquarters” of the team is a sound studio in the Hollywood Hills called “House 33,” a luxurious villa.
This sound studio is now also supposed to serve as a “first-class training facility for gamers.”
The founder behind the company and CEO is Tyler Gallagher, who runs a company for “alternative currency,” such as Bitcoin or gold.
Apparently, they have identified eSports as an attractive investment field.
The team plans to announce its official lineup in 2021. At the moment, the team is still completely unknown in eSports and is viewed skeptically.

How credible is this? The whole situation seems dubious. The “Team 33” website looks still under construction. Links to Discord lead to nowhere. There is no imprint.
Overall, the whole eSports site seems as if large parts have been copied from the website of the sound studio.
However, there seems to be a genuine connection to this sound studio, “House 33.” A picture of Gosu 33 together with FaZe Banks, who is the head of a large eSports organization, was shared on the Instagram channel of the sound studio (via instagram).
Overall, the action seems dubious. Either it is a pure PR gag to generate attention, knowing how much the public will be outraged by the signing of an 8-year-old. Or it is even a hoax, a joke.
In any case, they have achieved the goal of making people talk about the team. The news is being discussed internationally:
Many are surprised by this action. It cannot possibly be good and healthy for an 8-year-old.
Others are upset that they were not paid as well for their immense talent in video games during their youth.
Some doubt that this entire organization is real – it does not look real.
Others dismiss this experience as just another madness attributed to 2020, the year when everything somehow went downhill.
This is Jordan Herzog, known as Crimz. He has been trained to become an eSports pro since he was 3.
We reported on MeinMMO in 2019 about 16-year-old Jordan Herzog. He has been trained by his father to become a professional gamer for over ten years. The father sees great potential in eSports and is developing his son into a star:
Last weekend, we remembered your first MMORPGs together. Here’s what you told us.
Here’s what it was about: Our first MMORPGs often leave a big impression on us and remain a fond memory for a long time. We like to think back on the “good old days” and how cool, big, and new everything was back then.
And so you shared with us in the comments under our survey about how it was for you playing your first MMORPGs. There was a lot of enthusiasm and humor about how terrible some of those games actually were. In a nice way.
Fiesta Online
One of the games that was well represented in your comments was Fiesta Online. The colorful anime game from Korea was the entry point into the online world of MMORPGs for many MeinMMO readers. However, even though the comments praised Fiesta, you didn’t view the game through rose-colored glasses.
You are very aware of Fiesta’s flaws and problems today:
My first MMO was a terrible anime grinder called Fiesta Online. How I loved that stupid game. In retrospect, there’s hardly anything that stands out from a gameplay perspective.
The quests were dull and unoriginal, the story barely existent, and the closer one got to the level cap, the grindier it became. Oh, and the pressure from the item shop was at times really significant, as far as I remember – and yet I had fun. Some might say I should have known better – or perhaps I was just easily impressed at 11/12 years old. What I actually find really great about the game, both then and now, is the music. There are some catchy tunes in there. […]
MeinMMO reader Swoobat
Fiesta Online lured players in with the easy entry of a free-to-play MMORPG, where no credit card or bank account was required. On the other hand, it also attracted players with its pretty design, which resonated well with anime fans in Germany.
For a long time, pay-to-win became a significant issue for some of our readers.
For me, it was Fiesta Online. It was fresh on the market and I played it for a few years.
What made it special for me was the anime style, as I was a very large fan back then. […] The problems that made me stop playing were that it became too pay-to-win. At first, I didn’t notice, as the game was my life, and I neglected many other things, investing a hell of a lot into it.
MeinMMO reader Vallo
In one thing, the comments about Fiesta Online were unanimous. You met great people in the game with whom you had a lot of fun. It’s a memory that cannot be tarnished by the harsh pay-to-win and grind aspects of Fiesta. And having cool teammates and good friends is one of the most important things in an MMORPG.
What captivated me completely were the people I met with whom I could explore the new world that seemed so huge and incredible to us back then. I still keep in touch with two of them after over 10 years.
MeinMMO reader Vallo
Dark Age of Camelot
By far the most frequently mentioned MMORPG in the comments under the article and on Facebook was Dark Age of Camelot. Originally released in 2002 in Europe, DAoC adopted the setting of Norse mythology and Celtic high fantasy, taking place after the death of King Arthur.
The game properly introduced many of you to the world of MMORPGs and taught you how this type of gaming actually works.
For me, it was indeed Dark Age of Camelot. […] I still remember being quite blown away after the first login, especially due to the size of the 3D world.
And I remember desperately trying to level my mentalist by beating the mobs with my staff. That didn’t go very well for long. Until I eventually figured out that other “mages” were using spells. I invested way too much time in this game, but I still wouldn’t want to miss much of it.
MeinMMO reader chips
Others were captivated by Dark Age of Camelot especially because of its great PvP system. In the “Realm vs. Realm” PvP, players could bash each other’s heads in huge battles until the rooster crowed.
It’s no coincidence that the MMORPG made it to our Top 10 MMORPGs with the best PvP. It undoubtedly provided a unique PvP experience for its time.
The plus of DAoC was that it was […] three MMOs in one, set up in a triangle, and in the middle was the realm vs. realm.
Then there was also the Minne, a character we called that. She could run, which was pretty nice. And so we went into RvR, Minne at the front, and 50-100 men followed her. It looked like a giant snake as we mowed down everything in our way. But not just other players; there were also bosses to kill in RvR, which was really cool.
MeinMMO reader Tronic48
The dungeons of Dark Age of Camelot also stayed in your memories. They consumed a lot of time and could sometimes take many hours. Additionally, one often had to wait a long time before forming a group to run them.
Also from Korea came the MMORPG Flyff, which was released in the USA in 2005. Although there was no EU release, many of you still played on the US servers.
The colorful graphic style of the free-to-play MMORPG and its unique ability to fly on mounts introduced many young gamers to the world of MMORPGs.
However, even with Flyff, you make no secret in the comments that it had its flaws and problems, which were often only noticed when you grew older and gained more experience in the MMORPG genre.
I believe my first MMORPG was Flyff. It was a grind festival, and I loved it. What motivated me back then was the leaderboard, where you could see who had the highest level on the server, and of course I wanted to reach it too.
Naive as I was back then as a young person, I had no idea that achieving such a goal required EXP buffs and a party member. I simply didn’t know that the cash shop provided such an advantage and never used it, so I happily ground my time after school and thought it would be fine. […]
MeinMMO reader Keragi
In the comments under the article and on Facebook, many remembered the grind in Flyff. With each level-up, the amount of EXP needed for the next level increased dramatically until one required almost astronomical amounts per level.
But leveling took so long. Often it was 0.02% per mob. I added a “night shift” once. I played through the whole night, died twice, lost EXP as a result, and the night shift was pretty much ruined. […]
Enrico W. on Facebook
Unfortunately, the grind became harder with rising levels until it became unenjoyable for some to battle through the massive amounts of EXP. The loss of EXP after death hit you very hard and also led some to quit the game.
However, you still fondly remember Flyff, and some wouldn’t mind checking it out again.
Ragnarok Online
Ragnarok Online is probably one of the most famous MMORPGs that have come to us from Korea. About 1.5 years after its release in Korea, the European servers went online.
The colorful anime MMORPG with an isometric perspective offered a wide variety of classes that were upgraded and expanded through the rebirth system, many world bosses, and the PvP system “War of Emperium,” where countless players bashed each other’s heads in.
For some MeinMMO readers, it was their first experience being in a game with so many other people.
My first MMORPG was Ragnarok Online. I played it at release and have never seen so many people anywhere else!
The capital was just so crowded with merchants; you can’t imagine it.
Also, dealing damage to zombies with “Heal”. Or teleporting other players and so on. The class system was just unique, or rather, the job system.
I think the game was very advanced in terms of possibilities for its time.
MeinMMO reader NoSFa
Ragnarok also came to us at a time when “the internet” was a comparatively new thing in private homes. Back when there were still internet cafes and AOL CDs with time limits to spend on the World Wide Web, and we didn’t yet carry flat rates on our smartphones in our pockets.
It was special [Ragnarok Online] because we got a new PC from our doctor, which had a modem in it. I snatched an AOL 650-minute CD, […] so that on the day I was home alone […], I could disconnect the phone and start playing. That was a truly great moment and an amazing day.
I had known about the game for a while, as I often traveled 20 kilometers to the city to the Dragon Cave and to the train station […] to treat myself to anime magazines, video game magazines, as well as White Dwarf, Warhammer figures, and Pokémon cards. […]
I did all this back then because the topic of the internet was rather nonexistent for my parents. Video games were okay, a PC required some persuasion, but the internet was too much.
MeinMMO reader Namma
Since the original release of Ragnarok Online, there have been many attempts to reboot the MMORPG, create a sequel Ragnarok 2, or port the game to other platforms.
They were sometimes more, sometimes less successful. However, none managed to invoke a passion “like back then.”
Which MMORPGs do you still rave about? Was your first MMORPG also the one with the best memories, or was it another? Share it with us in the comments!

In Genshin Impact a new event could start soon. A dataminer has shared information about it. The event seems to be significant, as new enemies and materials are expected to come to the game.
This is the status of Genshin Impact: The RPG has only been on the market since the end of September and has been regularly providing its players with new content since then.
At the end of December, Update 1.2 is set to introduce a new area and apparently a large event is also scheduled to start simultaneously. This is revealed by the dataminer NEP NEP on Twitter, who also shares details about new enemies and materials.
This is what the big event is about
This has been revealed: The event is set to start together with Update 1.2. It is expected to introduce the snowy area of Dragonspine Mountain to the game.
Images have surfaced showing new enemies. They appear visually fitting for the snowy area and could mainly be found there.
In addition to the enemies, a new resource has also been shown that you can presumably farm. According to the leaks, this resource is supposed to be a type of currency that helps unlock rewards in the event shop.
The leaker also reveals that there will be “Field Trials.” For this, you need to complete some tasks, and as a reward, there will be various guides that can be seen below in the tweet. Another reward should be another Crown of Wisdom, which was available back in November. This item is really useful and you shouldn’t miss it.
Another find is the rewards that are supposed to be available in Update 1.2 for numerous actions. We will embed the tweet about this leak:
Overall, a lot in this event is supposed to revolve around icy regions. This fits, as winter has set in, and many other games are also releasing winter events.
When is the event supposed to start? The date mentioned is December 23. This is when Update 1.2 is supposed to be released, which will also bring new characters into the game.
The leaker states that the 5-star character Albedo and the 4-star character Rosara are supposed to be introduced.
What you need to keep in mind: This is currently just leaks. Although the leaks show some actions from the game and seem trustworthy, they have not yet been officially confirmed by the developer miHoYo. Therefore, you should view these leaks with a degree of skepticism.
However, the new character Zhongli is officially confirmed. He is already available in the game:
The Division 2 recently teased a special event named “Codename: Nightmare” for the winter. Now there is an update: The event is coming in 2021 and will be completely different from what was initially planned.
The mysterious event was briefly teased in September during a trailer for the Endless Mode “The Summit”. There was hardly any concrete information – neither about the specific start date nor about the content. Codename: Nightmare was supposed to come at some point in winter, run for a limited time, and take place in the already available Kenly College – but apparently in a creepy version at night, which is why some speculated about a Halloween event.
Since then, however, it has been quiet about the event. Until now. Because there is now an update from the developers. We summarize the most important points for you.
Here is the mysterious special event on the roadmap for 2020
Codename: Nightmare – Here is what we now know about the mysterious event
When exactly is the event coming? There is finally a concrete date. The event will be part of Title Update 12.1, which is scheduled to be released on February 2, 2021. This means the event falls in the second half of Season 4, which will kick off with TU12 on December 8, 2020.
What is different? Originally, Codename: Nightmare was supposed to offer a new, special gameplay experience in a repurposed Kenly College. However, this was scrapped by Massive. The developers have shifted the focus of this event instead to clothing.
In short: The mysterious special event will basically be a special Apparel Event with more rewards, where players will be able to earn really good-looking, unique outfits, trophies, and skins, according to the developers. It is supposed to be unlike any other Apparel Event held in The Division 2 so far. However, there will likely not be a new gameplay experience within this framework.
This is where Codename: Nightmare was originally supposed to take place – a creepy Kenly College at night and during a thunderstorm
Therefore, the event has been revamped: But why the changes? Apparently, the effects of the Corona pandemic and related unpredictable circumstances are to blame.
“It has been a tough year for everyone, a tough year for us as well. And one of the consequences is that we had to make changes to our plan.” – said Yannick Banchereau, the Associate Creative Director at Massive.
The hack and slay Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem (PC) has now received the major update “Chronicle 1: Bloodtrail”. Can it help the former Steam hit achieve success again?
What does this update include? “Chronicle 1: Bloodtrail” now makes larger changes to the action RPG after a series of bug fixes and adjustments and introduces new content, something that players have been wishing for a long time.

How is the update received? “Chronicle 1: Bloodtrail” has been available since December 3rd. According to Steamcharts, player counts have also improved. They are now peaking at 4,937 concurrent players.
On Steam, some players have already commented on the update. Opinions are strongly divided. We summarize some voices that have emerged after the update:
Kalazar88 writes on Steam: “The game is nearly unplayable in multiplayer after the Bloodtrail update. The sound had issues, just like the fights, and there was a lot of lag.”
Coogimane says: “The game looks good, but it is still plagued by bugs months after its release. The gameplay and abilities feel clunky and unoptimized.”
babymage is somewhat frustrated: “The game is still not good, the server is lagging, there are performance issues, and that was already during the first 15 minutes of gameplay.”
Here are some positive opinions:
Hammer O’Malley writes: “This game is GOOD! If you like action RPGs, then get this game. I have played almost all ARPGs out there and say: get this game, it’s worth it.”
DK75 states after the update: “You found Grim Dawn cool? Then you will like Wolcen.”
Xlax is thrilled with the improved combat system: “I liked the combat in the original version, but the new variant is really good!”
What does this mean for Wolcen? As reflected in the reviews and opinions of the players about the action RPG after the update, Wolcen has indeed improved. However, there are still problems in the form of bugs and lags. The developers are on the right path, but they still have more work ahead.
With the current update, the hack and slay is still not achieving the success of the Steam launch in February. However, that could change with more updates like this.
Have you already tried “Chronicle 1: Bloodtrail”? Does it improve the action RPG Wolcen in your opinion?
