In Outriders there is a scene that annoys numerous players. Fortunately, there is a way to disable it on PC
What scene is this? As soon as you start Outriders, an intro scene begins where a monstrous bird creature flies over the vastness of the planet Enoch.
The planet is the setting of the cooperative shooter. In itself, this is a cool scene that seems epic and beautiful at first or maybe the second time.
What is the problem? After about 2 weeks of playing Outriders a few times, this scene no longer feels epic at all, but mainly long.
It cannot be skipped. Luckily, there is a way for PC players to disable this scene. Additionally, the cutscene is quite loud, so if you have turned up the volume, it can be quite overwhelming.

Although the scene itself only lasts 20 seconds, with subsequent overlays it can take up to 40 seconds before you can finally join the game.
Much more pleasant login thanks to a small PC setting
Where does the method come from? We stumbled upon the trick in the subreddit for Outriders. It was shared by user ixSASA (via reddit). You need to follow this file path:
Go to your Steam folder
Open the “steamapps” folder
Select the “common” folder
There you will find the folder for Outriders
Go to Madness -> Content -> Movies
Now you need to rename the file “splash_screens” to “splash_screens.bak”

Is this also possible on other platforms? Unfortunately not. On Xbox and PlayStation, you do not have access to the game files. Since the game is streamed on Google Stadia, you also do not have access to files here and have to live with the activated scene.

However, with the current inventory wipe issues in Outriders, this probably isn’t high on the priority list.
What is the problem? Currently, a nasty bug can occur in Outriders that completely clears players’ inventories. The developers are currently working on a patch, but are advising against playing in co-op.
The European League of Legends team G2 Esports surprisingly finished third in the playoffs this spring. In retrospect, the players have been self-critical. According to them, they were used to winning all the time.
The supporter Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle has since given an interview to the website Dot Esports. In it, he expresses a lot of self-criticism.
Mikyx talks about how the players were used to winning the playoffs and therefore approached the situation too carelessly. They have now paid the price with their elimination. However, the supporter sees it as a wake-up call to step up their game even more in the summer.
G2 Esports struggles with the meta, but also shows self-criticism
What exactly does Mikyx say? At the beginning of the interview, the supporter explains that the defeat in the scrims – matches where teams play against each other for training purposes – had been evident. G2 has not played optimally there for a while.
One reason for this, Mikyx sees in the current meta, which has played into the hands of the other teams. The idea of playing Karma on the top lane is said to have been rather negative for the team. This strategy had obviously worked well in the scrims, but they lost many games with Karma in the playoffs.
However, Mikyx also showed self-criticism further along in the conversation:
I think we just became a little complacent. After winning everything for a while, we took it for granted that we would win anyway and perhaps didn’t put in as much effort.
But now that we have lost, I think everyone will take it much more seriously in the summer, and we will be much better.
Indeed, G2 Esports has dominated LoL in Europe over the last few years:
They won all 4 titles available in spring and summer 2019 and 2020.
They even won the Mid-Season Invitational 2019 internationally. The tournament was canceled in 2020 due to COVID.
As early as 2016 and 2017, G2 won all titles at the European level. Only the year 2018 was somewhat weaker. At that time, the competitor Fnatic won both playoffs.
More time with his bot lane partner: A further positive aspect Mikyx sees in the entire situation is the time gained to establish synergy with his bot lane partner Rekkles.
He was signed by Fnatic in November 2020 and was supposed to strengthen G2 Esports for international competition:
We don’t really play much duo queue since it was removed [above Master rank]. I have been thinking about making smurfs (new accounts without ranking) and using the dodge trick to let people reach Master tier and then avoid the promotions.
This way we can practice our 2v2, try out new champion combos and, to be honest, we are very different. He wakes up very early in the morning and I go to bed very late. If he or I adjust our sleeping patterns…

LoL nerd explains why coaches and pros have no idea
As Mikyx already explained, G2 Esports was not suited to the current meta. The LoL team also did not make a good impression during the drafts – the selection and banning of champions. In the previous match against Schalke, there were some issues, allowing them to fight back to a 2:2.

The strongest cards in TOTW 29 – With Saint-Maximin and Pogba
How strong is TOTW 29? This week, there aren’t too many cards in the TOTW. It belongs to the weaker Teams of the Week in FIFA 21. Here we look at the top 3.
Paul Pogba received a 90-rated card, making him the highest-rated card in the team. However, the new TOTW card is positioned in left midfield, where he cannot optimally utilize his strengths in dribbling, passing, and shooting. It’s necessary to adjust and pull the LM-Pogba into the center during the game. Players who need such a card in an unusual position for chemistry in their team can be pleased.
Allan Saint-Maximin may only have an 85 and is thus weaker in overall rating compared to other TOTW members, yet he is likely among the top players this week. He is one of the popular meta cards in FIFA 21 and can create danger offensively. However, he also underwent a position change and is now found in attack, which resembles more his strong freeze card.
There are still some 86-rated cards in TOTW 29, but they don’t stand out much. One of them is Gabriel Paulista, who plays for Valencia. The center-back brings solid defensive values.
The Bundesliga in TOTW 29
Also, the Bundesliga is not very strongly represented in TOTW 29 regarding Inform cards.
Willi Orban from RB Leipzig received an 82-rated card, but has weak attributes in anything that is not defense or physical.
Frankfurt’s Kamada is also in there, but his 81-rated card will hardly strengthen any team at the moment.
Although only three classes were available in the technical alpha of Diablo 2 Resurrected, players managed to unlock hidden classes like the Necromancer with an old mod of the original game.
What kind of alpha was that? The alpha test for Diablo 2 Resurrected started on April 9 and ended on April 12. The remake of Diablo 2 could be played for the first time by some players.
It was a Technical Alpha that could only be played in singleplayer. Act I and Act II were included, and three classes were available. However, players found a backdoor during the test to unlock additional classes.
Old mod from original Diablo 2 unlocks hidden classes
What happened? On reddit, user jinfat1 shared a video showcasing the abilities of the Necromancer. This seemed strange, as the Necromancer was not one of the three classes available in the alpha for players to choose from.
How can this be? In response to a user’s question, jinfat1 stated that he simply tried an old “Hero Editor” modification that was originally developed for the original game. Apparently, Resurrected is so close to its original Diablo 2 that even old mods work.

How did he do it? This was possible through the “Hero Editor” mod for the original game. One simply had to create a character and enter in the editor that you were playing as a Necromancer, not a Barbarian. These classes should be included in the final game anyway.
However, compatibility with an old modification is not the first hint at how close Diablo 2 Resurrected really stays to the original.

We at MeinMMO spoke with a legally blind gamer who enjoys playing Final Fantasy XIV in her free time. Here is what she shared with us about her experiences with gaming and the MMORPG.
If you are active in the gaming community every day, browsing countless forums and discussions, you will encounter a variety of players. Some time ago, I came across a video in the subreddit for Final Fantasy XIV (via reddit), where a player explained how she navigates the MMORPG as a blind person.
I reached out to her and had a conversation about her experiences as a blind player in FFXIV and gaming in general. The article also includes some of her comments from reddit and the YouTube video.
This is Sara: “Hello everyone! I am Sara Winters. I am a programmer (but not for games!) and besides video games, I also enjoy cosplay, cooking, and knitting.”
Sara told me in our conversation that she is classified as “legally blind.” This means that her visual ability is so severely impaired that glasses or other visual aids cannot compensate for it.
However, legal blindness does not necessarily mean that the person can see nothing at all. Sara explained to me in our conversation how it affects her:
“Yes, I can recognize shapes and can also read when the text is really large. I use a special monitor for work. […] I am also not colorblind; I can distinguish between red and green, orange and blue, or yellow and purple. But the colors appear differently to me than to other people. I see them more as ‘saturated shadows.’ This means that sometimes I perceive shadows with similar colors like red and orange as the same color.”
Legal blindness: Visual impairment is very complex and varies among individuals. Generally, in Germany, the following classifications apply: – Based on a standard for visual acuity of 1.0 (100%), a person is considered visually impaired if, despite correction with glasses or contact lenses, they achieve at most 0.30 but more than 0.05 in the better eye. – If the visual acuity in the better eye is between 0.05 and 0.02, it is referred to as severe visual impairment. – With a visual acuity of less than 0.02, which practically only allows for light/dark perception, or if the visual field is less than 5 degrees, a person is considered blind under the law (via. Federal Association of Ophthalmologists)
Corona drives gamers into online worlds
This is how Sara got into FFXIV: Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, many multiplayer games and MMORPGs have seen a growth spike, as people can socialize in them. For Sara, Corona was the reason to search online for new opportunities to meet people.
“I started [with FFXIV] last year. COVID (sic.) has made other forms of social contact very, very difficult, and I am really glad to be here in Eorzea. […]”
Even though she hasn’t finished the main story of FFXIV yet, currently playing through the Stormblood expansion, Sara enjoys her time in the game. She finds her way around the MMORPG mostly through sounds, which is an area where FFXIV excels.
This ranges from simple footstep sounds indicating that the group has started moving, to the drawing of weapons for attack, to what type of pet has just been summoned. The audio warning for enemy attacks also helps her navigate safely through the game. In her video, she lists the particularly important audio cues:

This is how Sara plays in groups: MMORPGs are characterized, among other things, by the fact that you play them with many other people. For example, there are a whole series of dungeons in FFXIV that are mandatory. You have to complete them to progress in the MMORPG.
Sara attempts to complete dungeons with her friends. However, she often also plays in random groups:
“When I tank, I send an automatic message in the chat letting people know that I am blind. I am confident enough not to do this with healers and DPS. […] Melee classes are definitely the hardest role for me because of positioning. I can hear the attacks and movements of the bosses, but I can’t always tell which direction they are facing. Healing, ranged combat, magic, and tanking do not require me to pay attention to positioning.”

It is not uncommon to receive toxic comments and insults in online games. Even though the FFXIV community may seem very tame compared to many others, there are still unfriendly players there. I asked Sara how her experiences in random groups in FFXIV have been so far.
“I had a very small number of bad encounters, but it had nothing to do with my being blind. People in FFXIV are usually very nice, which is surprising given everything I hear about online gaming. […] I try to play new dungeons that I have never done before with friends who can see. They guide me through the instance in voice chat before I tackle them with random groups.”
In dungeons, Sara also uses a “text-to-speech” tool to communicate with her group members. It works well, except in large instances like the PvP Rival Wings, where it receives far too many inputs from players and fails to participate anymore.
The user IndigoExodus posted on reddit the user interface of her boyfriend, who is also legally blind. The UI of FFXIV is versatile, and he was able to adapt it to his needs.
Gaming as a Help for Blindness
One of the questions I was curious about was how Sara came to gaming at all. After all, it is a visual medium where you often have to pay close attention to what is happening on the screen. Sara explained to me that it was actually her eye doctor who introduced her to this hobby:
“My eye doctor recommended it to improve my hand-eye coordination. My earliest games were Pokémon, Tetris, and so on. I eventually bought a PS2 and became a big fan of RPGs and strategy games, including Final Fantasy.”
There are now various studies showing that gaming can positively affect different brain functions. A study from the University of Toronto, for example (via. ScienceDaily), found that regular gaming improves sensorimotor skills.
Games that she enjoys playing often lack special features for blind players, Sara told me. It is often challenging for her. Helpful are turn-based combat systems in RPGs or games that allow quick pausing to assess the situation.
In games that focus more on action, Sara finds good sound design and controller vibration very helpful. To play, she uses the Steam controller, which facilitates gameplay with its haptic feedback.
Headphones are also a must. As Sara explained in her video, especially surround sound helps to orient herself in the game and quickly understand what is happening. Through sounds, for example, you know
which abilities are being used,
what terrain you are on,
from which direction attacks are coming (shooter players will likely relate to this).
Good sound design is therefore extremely helpful, and the news that the PS5 version of FFXIV now also supports surround sound has delighted Sara. Her plea to the developers is therefore:
“Please provide more sound cues!”
I sincerely thank Sara for the interesting conversation. Perhaps we will run into each other in FFXIV in the future. After all, with the new expansion Endwalker, a feature is coming that allows players to travel between data centers.
In Guild Wars 1, a weapon was hidden. It came with an event that takes place every year around the release of Guild Wars 2. However, players didn’t notice it for years. Only the tweets of a former developer brought it to their attention.
What happened? On April 11, former developer Metthew Moore, who left ArenaNet in 2014, tweeted about an Easter egg in Guild Wars 1. It was a hidden weapon introduced with an event in 2013.
In this tweet, it says:
There is a hidden weapon in the original Guild Wars that I believe no one has found yet. We’ve hidden some clues in the dialogues of certain Wiki-editor tribute NPCs that only appear during the “Memories of the Traveler” event. But I think we hid them too well.
After this tweet, the Guild Wars community set out to look for the weapon. It took players about 2 days and 3 more tweets from Matthew Moore to finally solve the riddle from 2013 in April 2021.
A special enemy appears when certain conditions are met
How was the riddle solved? After Moore’s first tweet, players discovered a message in Discord from 2020, where a player pointed people to an adjustment in the Wiki.
This adjustment referred to the event “Memories of the Traveler,” which was introduced corresponding to the release of Guild Wars 2. Through this, players got to Xunlai Archivists, who play a role in this event.
Eventually, a location by Drakkar Lake was identified where the weapon should be. However, certain prerequisites must be met, as Moore revealed via Twitter and Reddit.
How to get the weapon? The Reddit user Evaziel was the first to find the weapon and posted a guide (via Reddit):

You must be completely alone while doing this
You also need “The Favor of the Gods,” the “Lucky Aura” from the Lunar Fortunes, and you have to drop or eat a birthday cake (he did both)
After that, you need to use the ability “Light of Deldrimor” at Kilroy
If you have done all this, a special Vaettir will appear that you must defeat. Once you kill it, you get the sword “Silver Edge”:
How long was the weapon undiscovered? As Matthew More confirmed, the Easter egg was introduced to the game in the summer of 2013. It took several years for it to be uncovered, and it likely would have remained undetected for a long time without the developer’s tweet.
The weapon is quite useful, especially for warriors who value adrenaline.

What can Youtubers Life 2 be compared to? It somewhat resembles Animal Crossing or The Sims. You can walk around the world, discover things, and continuously evolve. However, the focus here is clearly on YouTube. You want to become big on the video platform, and for that, you complete various tasks in the game.
Who is behind the game? The developer Raiser Games is known for some fun and colorful games. They have previously developed the game “Esports Life Tycoon,” where you have to build and manage an e-sports team. Additionally, the crazy shooter Goat of Duty is from Raiser Games. There, you play a goat that goes to war heavily armed.
They themselves state that the first part of Youtubers Life is their flagship and has already recorded millions of players. The game is also well received by the Steam community, where it has over 11,000 mostly positive reviews.

Which class is currently winning the leaderboard of Season 23 in Diablo 3? Let’s take a look at the current winners and losers.
What’s happening in Diablo 3? Blizzard’s hack and slash launched its 23rd season on April 2. Before that, there were some balance changes across various classes, which players are now using to storm the leaderboards.
Now, after nearly two and a half weeks into Season 23, we’ll see which classes are performing well and which are lagging behind.
Leaderboards in Season 23 – Who is in the lead?
What we checked: For this article, we looked at the European solo leaderboard of Season 23 in Diablo 3 for Greater Rifts. This refers to players who play in softcore mode (not hardcore).
The status of the leaderboard is from April 14, 2021, at 14:10 (via diablo3.com). In the coming days, player milestones will continue to adjust upwards. The ranking of individual classes may also shift in the future.
We will link you to the respective hero profiles behind the times so you can view the players’ characters. Keep in mind that the currently equipped gear may not correspond to what was used to set the record time.
What stands out: The current overview of the leaderboard roughly reflects what the tier list for Season 23 in Diablo 3 predicted. Wizards have a lot of potential after the set changes to the Firebird, Crusaders remain stable, and Necromancers with the Mask of the Burning Carnival have good chances to stay at the top of the leaderboard.
This will happen: In the coming weeks, players will continue to play Diablo 3 and simultaneously raise their Paragon levels. By leveling up the Paragon levels, characters become even stronger, which will lead to even better results in Greater Rifts in the long run.

When does it start? The Raid Hour starts at 6:00 PM local time. A few minutes earlier, black raid eggs will appear at most gyms, which will hatch exactly at 6:00 PM. By 7:00 PM, most raids will be over, and the Raid Hour will be concluded.
Here are the best counters: Landorus is of the types Ground and Flying. Therefore, it is weak against the types Water and Ice. It has a double weakness against Ice, which is why you should especially rely on these Pokémon. The best counters against Landorus are:

How many trainers should be involved? The Therian form can already be easily defeated by two trainers. However, we recommend that you participate in the Raid Hour with at least 4 trainers. This way, you can defeat the bosses more easily and complete more raids in total.
Remember that you can invite other trainers via Remote Raid Pass. This way, you can adhere to the current contact restrictions while still having enough trainers present.
This is the story of Landorus: The Pokémon belongs to the trio “Forces of Nature” which also includes Tornadus and Thundurus. The 3 monsters represent the wind, thunderstorm, and ground. Unlike Tornadus and Thundurus, which are feared by farmers, Landorus is popular. It appears where the harvests are plentiful. Therefore, in the Pokémon world, it is also referred to as the “Lord of Agriculture.”
Is the Raid Hour with Landorus worth it?
How strong will Landorus be? The legendary Pokémon will be really good! Due to strong stats and solid attacks, it will become the best Ground attacker in the game. However, shortly before release, there was a change in its attacks, which made Landorus slightly weaker. Nevertheless, it remains the best Ground-type Pokémon.
Is there a Shiny Landorus? The Incarnate form of Landorus can be caught as Shiny, but the current Therian form is not yet available in its shiny form. So if you were hoping for a Shiny, you will be disappointed today.

Weapon mods play an important role in Outriders. They give weapons their special properties and can greatly influence builds. But which are particularly suitable at the start? MeinMMO presents 10 weapon mods that you can find early on and that are useful.
How do weapon mods work? In Outriders, weapons from the rare (blue) tier have weapon modifications that give them certain properties. From the Epic (purple) rarity level onwards, weapons even have two slots that can be equipped with mods.
These weapon mods are divided into tiers, from Tier 1 to Tier 3. While blue weapons only drop Tier-1 mods, epic weapons usually have a Tier-2 modification.
