As Update 2.0 changed a lot in Cyberpunk 2077, players are once again looking for the best build options for their playstyle. A YouTuber has now ventured into a powerful mantis blades combo for strong and fast melee attacks. We present it to you.
Who is the build for? The new Cyberpunk 2077 build from YouTuber Corpheus allows you to execute strong melee attacks with high one-shot potential. The combo is primarily intended for players who want to get up close and personal with their opponents.
The build can also be used with a katana instead of mantis blades, but it is not yet optimized for that.
What are mantis blades? Mantis blades are a cyberware upgrade for your V in Cyberpunk 2077. They are inserted into the hand slot, where you can alternatively also insert the gorilla arms or monowire. They are two blades that extend from the forearms and function like the pincers of a praying mantis.
Mantis Blades Build for Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 – What’s Inside
Important: For this build, you need the base game and the expansion Phantom Liberty.

Sound designer Glenn Goa is enthusiastically working on Baldur’s Gate 3. To ensure your footsteps in full plate armor sound good, Goa even learned to forge armor himself.
Who is Glenn Goa? Glenn Gullskjegg Goa is a Norwegian fantasy author and sound designer, whose projects include Larian Studios’ Divinity: Original Sin 2 and most recently, Baldur’s Gate 3.
On Glenn Goa’s YouTube channel, some sound projects are also showcased. Among them are the self-forged plate shoes, known as sabatons:

Under the video for the sabaton sound recordings, Glenn G. Goa writes that the team wanted to capture the unique sound mix of multiple clanging metal plates for steps in metal armor. For this, Goa forged the mentioned plate shoes himself and recorded an hour of sound material on various surfaces.

3 Tips to Reduce Your Carrying Weight in Baldur’s Gate 3
What else is there to discover on the YouTube channel? Glenn G. Goa has currently released eight videos. Besides the plate shoes, there are six other videos related to Baldur’s Gate 3. Under a video about the sound design of the level 3 spell Fireball, Glenn explains:
[…] Fire alone does not produce an exciting sound, so I combined it with various other elements. Among them are tearing fabric, canned air, and the sound plastic makes when it melts. In fact, I used exactly two fire resources: a crackling campfire and a large torch that is quickly moved past the microphone.[…]
For the spell “Thunderbolt” however, sounds like the tearing of duct tape from windows, packaging foil, and some digital effects from the existing sound library were used.
For the various magical effects of the protection glyph, which can be cast in 13 different variations, Glenn G. Goa even took inspiration from Warcraft 3 sounds, among others.
The community is enthusiastic about the sound design in Baldur’s Gate 3
The community shows enthusiasm for Glenn G. Goa’s efforts for the game. Among the released videos, joyful comments accumulate. Here’s a selection:
BrokenSword1978 on the sabatons: “It’s the little things like the clanking and clattering of armor that make the game feel immersive despite being a turn-based, isometric RPG.”
ruyan4428 on Fireball: “The sound design of the magic in this game is unparalleled – well done!”
cleiru7859 also on Fireball: “When I first heard the pre-made sound effects of Fireball and Eldritch Blast, I was impressed. So good, so refined.”
TheDrsalvation on the effects for the protection glyph: “You managed to develop genuine magical sound effects from scratch that fit so well with everything, feel satisfying, and do not ruin immersion – for that, you have my utmost respect!”
Even when the official ARK servers were shut down at the end of September, player numbers did not collapse. The survival game remains stable on Steam and still has an average of 36,000 players (via Steamcharts).

Everything you need to know about the survival game ARK: Survival Evolved
ARK takes the number 1 spot on Twitch
What were the viewer numbers for ARK in 2023? In contrast to the solid figures on Steam, the viewer numbers on Twitch recently lagged behind. ARK: Survival Evolved was practically dead on the streaming platform: on average, the game only had around 2,000 viewers in 2023.
That changed abruptly in October.
What are the current viewer numbers on Twitch? ARK is currently exploding on Twitch and even managed to become the game with the most viewers on Twitch at one point (see screenshot).
On Saturday afternoon, over 115,000 viewers tuned in (as of: October 7, 1:30 PM). The survival game was thus ahead of games like League of Legends, GTA V, Counter-Strike, and the currently ongoing CoD MW3 beta.
Overall, things are going really well for ARK on Twitch right now. In the past 3 days, the survival game averaged 93,692 viewers, which corresponds to an approximate increase of 4,500% (via Sullygnome).
Streamer event causes viewer surge
Why are so many people suddenly watching ARK? In Japan, there is currently a streaming event called “VCR ARK” organized by the gaming community “Vaultroom” and the e-sports team “Crazy Racoon”.
A variety of Japanese streamers and V-Tubers are participating in the streaming event, including some of the country’s most popular content creators. Just the streamer “fps_shaka” regularly has over 40,000 viewers on Twitch and boosts the survival game up the streaming platform charts.
According to the streamer fps_shaka, the event is primarily about cooperative gameplay. The streamers live together on an ARK server in a city, have to adhere to specific rules, and rely on collaboration to complete certain tasks.
We know similar streaming events mainly from ARK competitors like Rust, where the game is regularly propelled to the top of Twitch by numerous large players:
A Twitch streamer was devastated: he had lost everything he had dreamed of in the MMORPG Old School RuneScape (Steam) for so long. He had loved this MMORPG for 21 years. Was there no hope for redemption, or was there?
Who is it about?
The streamer is named Darth Microtransaction (short: DM), he is known as a Twitch streamer for Diablo 4 or Raid Shadow Legends. Showcasing these games on Twitch is basically his “bread and butter.”
However, he is actually a passionate player of the MMORPG Old School RuneScape; he has been playing the original RuneScape since 2001 and is deeply attached to the game. He says that it is the only game he has truly loved and that keeps bringing him back to gaming.
He has a very special story of suffering connected to the MMORPG.
Old School RuneScape has been available on Steam for a few years now, but it is mostly played on other servers:

Old School RuneScape – Trailer for the Steam Release
Streamer loses everything to his gambling addiction the first time
What did he lose: The streamer had built up a huge fortune in the MMORPG over the years, only to lose everything when he succumbed to gambling addiction in the “Duel Arena” and had bad luck 17 times in a row. DM shares this in the video “I got hacked and lost everything” (via youtube).
The Duel Arena came to RuneScape in 2004: Players could duel here. There was intense competition in the arena: It was considered a “breeding ground” for scammers, real-money trading, hackers, and gambling addiction (via reddit).
This “Duel Arena” was removed from the MMORPG by Jagex in 2022, and the streamer started from scratch to build a fortune: In the following year, he invested $1,500 into the game and received numerous donations from his viewers. The viewers watched him play Diablo 4 but saw how much he loved RuneScape and gifted him gold for it, he explains.
With 4.8 billion gold, he simply bought “everything” in the game.
I had a maxed account in the game I love. Finally, after years of wanting to reach this point. I was so happy, more than in any game.
Streamer gets completely cleaned out, is totally shattered
This is what happened to him: The fortune lasted only a week. The streamer believes that he shared enough information during his streams for a viewer to claim his account via “account recovery” and take everything away from him.
The streamer not only lost the expensive items but also consumable items he wanted to level up with. Everything was truly gone:
He destroyed my organization, which took me days to build. He stole items that were only there so I could level my character. The crap that I really care about, not just expensive stuff.
Ultimately, the streamer was devastated. Everything he had built over 21 years was gone. Also, what his viewers had donated to make his dream come true was lost.
The streamer warned: His fate should serve as a lesson to everyone; one must secure the account better than he did.
He did get his account back, but it was cleaned out.
RuneScape account was the most valuable possession in his life
The streamer lamented: He was robbed of the only thing he truly loved. Everything else could be taken from him: his motorcycle, his collectibles, his piano, all his guitars.
That may sound pathetic, but that’s just how it is: His RuneScape account was the most valuable possession in his life.
Was there still hope? Actually not. The streamer says he has been playing RuneScape for 21 years, long enough to know that from this point he was at, there is no return: What’s gone is gone.
But then the developers at Jagex actually contacted him via email, saying they had seen his video. He should file a claim for “lost items.”
However, that didn’t give the streamer hope: The chance that support would help him was at 0%. He had told every viewer who asked if there was any chance of that.
This is how it turned out: But actually, a miracle happened, and his entire account was restored. He is filled with joy now, he says.

Regular players criticize: “Streamer privilege” rubs salt in the wound
How is this being discussed? But on reddit, the view is somewhat different: It is said that he only got his account back because he is a bigger streamer and made 2 videos about it.
That is generally unfair: He only got his possessions back because he received so much gold from viewers. Asking Jagex to restore his possessions with 2 videos, that’s not very nice.
Any other player at RuneScape who lost his stuff is in the same situation.
The special treatment now only shows that Jagex can help desperate players, but doesn’t do so. They have nothing against the streamer; they would do the same in his place, but it still feels bad, that’s the consensus on reddit.

The e-sport player s1mple is one of the most successful players in the history of Counter-Strike. Now, however, the professional advises that you should wait a few more months before playing CS2.
Who is it about? Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev is considered one of the best Counter-Strike players of all time, or at least of the current era. For his performances in various competitions, s1mple was awarded best player in 2018, 2021, and 2022, and was also a title contender in 2019 and 2020.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian has been active in his still flourishing career for e-sports organizations like HellRaisers, FlipSid3 Tactics, and Team Liquid. However, s1mple reached his peak at NaVi, for which he has been playing since 2016.
Between 2020 and 2022, NaVi was THE team in CS:GO and was able to win some highly lucrative tournaments – especially the Intel Grand Slam in September 2021 and a few months later the PGL Major in Stockholm.

Counter-Strike 2: Valve once again impresses with the launch trailer
What does he say? s1mple is not satisfied with the current technical condition of Counter-Strike 2 and harshly criticizes the successor to the extremely popular CS:GO on Twitter/x.com:
I can clearly say that if you want to become a CS2 professional, you still have 3 months to wait, so don’t play this crappy game, but wait for updates.
With clear words, the 26-year-old expresses that one should not currently play CS2 and rather wait for an update for a few more months. So if you plan to become a professional player soon, you have 3 months left.
What is the status of CS2?Counter-Strike 2 celebrated its release on September 27, and has since struggled with mixed opinions. While there are indeed new aspects that are well received by players, especially the criticism from renowned players is deeply felt.
Nevertheless, Counter-Strike 2 has really good player numbers on Steam and does not have to hide from the figures of its predecessor CS:GO. For example, shortly after its release on Steam, CS2 was so successful that the shooter had more players than the next 9 titles combined:
Kit Harington gained international fame through his role as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. However, the fuss around his character troubled him so much that he sought help.
From 2011 to 2019, Kit Harington portrayed the role of Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, whom we got to know as the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark. Additionally, Jon Snow is a member of the Night’s Watch, a military organization that guards the Wall and thereby protects the realm.
When you start in Baldur’s Gate 3, one of your first points of contact is the Emerald Grove. However, the druids living there are anything but hospitable and can even be quite nasty. However, this is not even their fault.
Which druids are we talking about exactly? Currently, the druids from the Emerald Grove are at the center of a discussion. The location is one of your first points of contact in Baldur’s Gate 3.
The atmosphere is tense: Due to the goblin threat, the druids plan to seal off the grove from the outside world. However, their leader Halsin has allowed a group of refugees to seek shelter with them. Halsin’s deputy Kagha wants to get rid of them as soon as possible – for her, the refugees are a thorn in the side.
Halsin and Kagha have very different ideas about what should happen in the grove in the future.
Kagha’s attitude seems to negatively influence all the other druids as well. They avoid their “guests” and openly talk about how their leader Halsin should step aside.
One expects druids to have a love for nature, joy in life, and harmonious coexistence. Not the aloof attitude and open rejection against their leader.
Attention Spoilers: From here on, we will be discussing things from Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3! So if you don’t like spoilers, please do not read further.
Why are the druids so aloof? Unfortunately, the druids themselves are quite a thorn in the side of an antagonist who is only introduced in Act 2: Ketheric Thorm.
He is behind the events surrounding the Towers of Dawn, is one of the most important servants of the Absolute, and is also responsible for the coordinated goblin threat against the Emerald Grove.
Ketheric expects that the druids will eventually rise up against him. To prevent this, he began to influence another druid clan with the Mind Flayer worms: the Cloakwood druids, whom players of Baldur’s Gate 1 might still remember.
The druids have gradually become what are known as Shadow Druids. They hardly leave their grove anymore and do not help any people in need. This group has started to win Kagha over at the beginning of Baldur’s Gate 3. She should bring Ketheric’s influence into the Emerald Grove without even knowing it.
How is this information known? If you visit the Towers of Dawn in Act 2, you can find documents that outline these steps. They explain Kagha’s behavior and why the druids are willing to take such drastic measures as isolating themselves from the outside world.
Depending on how you decided in Act 1 – for or against the druids, refugees, and goblins – the issue resolves itself at least for you.
But if you already poke your characters’ noses into all sorts of corners, you might find hints about Kagha’s contact with the Shadow Druids and confront her with them.
How about you? Have you been able to uncover Kagha’s contacts? Have you helped the refugees or have you invaded the Emerald Grove with the goblins? We look forward to reading about your adventures in the comments!
What did TenZ mean by his answer? Then, to make matters even more interesting, TenZ began to explain why he had this clear preference for “Lights on”. He revealed that he had had problems with his eyes during his school years. Kyedae, still puzzled, couldn’t help but consider what exactly could have caused this damage and questioned his statement.
TenZ took the time to clarify his answer. He explained that he was referring to the monitor light that can strain the eyes when the room is dark and only the light from the screen is on. Kyedae, gradually recognizing the comedy in this seemingly harmless question, couldn’t suppress a smile and listened intently as TenZ elaborated on his theory.
Finally, as the two were caught up in a kind of humorous question-and-answer game, Kyedae dared to ask the ultimate question: “Was that really the question the chat asked?”.
TenZ, still somewhat confused and focused on the explanations, asked back in disbelief what exactly the question had been.

During a joint Twitch stream, the famous Valorant pro TenZ and Twitch streamer Kyedae were surprised by their chat with the unusual question “Lights on or Lights off?” TenZ’s reaction created a humorous moment as he responded like a true gamer without even realizing what the question was about.
Who is TenZ? Tyson Ngo (22), known as TenZ, is a Vietnamese-Canadian Valorant pro player currently signed with Sentinels. His esports career began in October 2019 as a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player for Cloud9. In April 2020, he transitioned to Valorant, where he continued playing for Cloud9.
Who is Kyedae? Kyedae Shymko (21) often plays the tactical shooter Valorant by Riot Games on Twitch. On March 3, 2023, Kyedae surprised her fans with a tweet revealing that she had been diagnosed with leukemia.
Shortly after, she confessed during a livestream that she had kept this serious diagnosis from her fiancé TenZ for a long time. At that time, the streamer was participating in a significant esports tournament. Kyedae wanted to ensure that he could focus entirely on his game and career.
Here you can find a music video for the popular shooter Valorant:

What did the chat ask? During one of their joint streams, TenZ and Kyedae sat side by side. Kyedae was completely focused on playing Valorant.
In the midst of this relaxed atmosphere, an unexpected question suddenly appeared in the chat: “Lights on or Lights off?” It was a strange question that immediately captured both of their attention.
TenZ, always immersed in his role as a gamer, reacted quickly and simply answered, “Lights on!”.
However, instead of simply accepting the question, Kyedae initially tried to avoid the matter. She claimed she hadn’t even read the question, hoping to steer clear of the curious topic of conversation.

In Diablo 4, your Season character is approaching retirement in big strides. In just 10 days, it will enter its twilight years.
Why is your Season character retiring? In Diablo 4, most of the game revolves around looting and leveling. To keep it enjoyable in the long run, Blizzard regularly serves up new content that is added to the game with new Seasons or expansions.
However, in every new Season, you have to create a new character and level up again from level 1. Looting and leveling starts again. The characters from previous Seasons are not deleted, they retire and are sent to the retirement home: the Eternal Realm.
In the Eternal Realm, you can still play your old Season characters, but they will not experience new Seasons and the associated new content.
When does your Season character retire? Your “Season 1” character will retire on October 17th, with the start of Season 2, leaving just about 10 days remaining.
When your “Season 1” character transitions to the Eternal Realm, it will take gold, items, and crafting materials with it. Just like the Stat bonuses from the collected Lilith statues, discovered areas of the map, and your weapon and armor transmogs.
However, what your character will not take with it are the malicious hearts from Season 1 that you farmed in the past weeks.
Starting from October 17th, Season 2 will be about vampires. You can see a trailer here:

Diablo 4 presents new Season 2, coming this fall – Blood & Vampires
What does Season 2 bring? In Season 2, everything revolves around vampires, who threaten to plunge Sanctuary into ruin with their insatiable thirst for blood. Accordingly, Diablo 4 has 22 vampire powers in Season 2 for you to utilize.
Additionally, there will be a new quest series and 5 new bosses in the endgame of the action RPG, which aim to provide more challenge.
But before you start the second Season of Diablo 4, you should take care of a few details:
The company Artesian Builds produced customized, very expensive gaming PCs. They actively advertised it on Twitch. But a single misstep by the then CEO ruined the company.
Which company is it about? Artesian Builds originally manufactured mining rigs for cryptocurrencies. In 2022, they then restructured the company and produced high-end gaming systems with a strong media presence on Twitter and Twitch.
The person behind the company was Noah Katz, who ruined the business on March 1, 2022, in 59 seconds.
A contest destroys the gaming PC company
What went wrong? On March 1, 2022, Artesian Builds held a Twitch live stream with a contest. A new gaming PC was being raffled off. The streamer Kiapiaa won the raffle, but CEO Noah Katz refused to hand over the gaming PC.
He explained that the streamer did not meet the requirements for an “ambassador” because she did not have a sufficiently large following on social media. Katz then decided to repeat the contest. The whole action lasted less than 1 minute, but from that moment on, everything went wrong.
What happens next? This one appearance and the streamer’s complaint afterward that she was treated unfairly ruined the company’s reputation:
There was a wave of outrage on Twitter.
Previous supporters distanced themselves from the company. More than 5,000 followers were lost and important partners distanced themselves. For instance, big CoD streamer Nickmercs wanted nothing more to do with Artesian Builds.
The employees also considered whether they should buy the company themselves and continue it. Because they quickly identified CEO Noah Katz as the big villain. But nothing came of it.
What Noah Katz, the former CEO, is doing now is not known. Maybe he has returned to his roots: Initially, Katz built custom cosplay armor with a 3D printer, which he sold on Etsy.
Other streamers also produce gaming PCs. The most well-known tech YouTuber has now publicly disassembled the gaming PC:

What happened this week in Destiny 2? This week marked the end of the story of season 22. And one can say: it started great and then ended weakly.
Some Guardians had high hopes for this finale. A combination of three Hive witches sounded epic.
In the end, it was quite unspectacular. However, there was also a cunning fact that should not be overlooked.
We won’t spoil any further here, as some Guardians have yet to experience the story. But feel free to share your personal impression of the end of season 22 of Destiny 2 in the comments.
Otherwise, this week a job advertisement from Bungie attracted the attention of the Guardians. There, the developer of Destiny 2 talks about artificial intelligence and NPCs that react to your actions. That sounds exciting and could perhaps be the future of video games.
Additionally, Bungie is once again facing difficult issues within the company after 2 years, which have now led to a lawsuit.
In the video, you can see what experience awaits the Guardians in Destiny 2 in 2024. After 10 years, you will finally be able to discover the inside of the ominous traveler:

The mission “Somewhat Damaged” in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty currently terrifies thousands of players. What should actually be a relatively self-explanatory escape quest quickly turns into an absolute horror trip inspired by some of the best horror films of all time.
Warning: Spoilers: Below you will read spoilers about the story of Phantom Liberty, the expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
What is “Somewhat Damaged” about? The mission follows “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos”, if you sided with Solomon Reed in “Firestarter”. Your new task is to prevent Songbird from escaping and hand her over alive to the NUSA.
However, Songbird has no interest in going with you and escapes with a stolen MaxTac transporter through the wall. You follow her with your V and examine the area.
What makes the mission so traumatic? While you follow Songbird’s trails, you have your own pursuer on your heels: a spider-like Cerberus robot. So you try to complete your tasks in dim twilight but must always be prepared for an unexpected and deadly visit from the cyborg.
The combination of oppressive and narrow environments, coupled with the time pressure and the ever-present, but unpredictable danger from the cyborg, turns a simple chase mission into an absolute horror trip.
Although Songbird helps you here and there, you are otherwise left with only your instincts to survive. The robot makes its presence known through scurrying steps and a glitch in your interface. However, if you try to hide, that can end badly for you: The mission level includes many apparent hiding places and dead ends that the robot patrols.
In the video, Idris Elba, who plays Solomon Reed in Phantom Liberty, has a few tips for your playthrough:

Reddit users on the new Cyberpunk 2077 mission: “I shit my pants”
The community celebrates the mission, although or precisely because it genuinely scares them. Several Reddit users draw direct comparisons to the video game Alien Isolation. Another compares the mission to the 1994 horror film Death Machine.
Most users, however, are glad to have finished the mission. Many write that they wouldn’t have done it if they had known they had to work through a horror level. Others report headaches and a strong need for a break.

The first trailer with official images for the third season of ‘7 vs. Wild’ is here: German Twitch streamers who have made a name for themselves in gaming are in the spotlight: Knossi, Papaplatte, Trymacs, and Rumathra survive in Canada.
This is the situation:
The 3rd season of 7 vs. Wild has been filmed for a while, but the participants are not allowed to talk about what they experienced in two weeks in Canada.
A trailer now gives us first glimpses of what happened in Canada.
Knossi is one of the participants in 7 vs Wild:

From the Witness Stand with Barbara Salesch to the King of Twitch – Career and Life of Knossi
“Didn’t know there was such a place in the world”
This is shown in the video: We see Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller in a brief scene with a pained expression, while Knossi gives a “survival” speech in classic Braveheart style.
He appeals to the participants’ sense of honor. Because “getting picked up on day 2” is considered by the participants and the viewers as the damaging scenario that must be avoided at all costs:
14 days in the dirt – even without food. That can be done. Remember what people out there have written: You go out on day 2. People who have no idea what we are doing here. 7 vs. Wild is usually a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is our moment. Don’t be afraid, fear is a good thing.
But in the next scene, Knossi also seems to be disturbed by something. He looks as if he has seen a ghost – but fear is indeed a good thing.
The odd couple of nature boy Trymacs and the more cerebral Rumathra, who is sturdy in seaweed, also has their scenes.
Trymacs apparently experiences a fall while warning right before it and says Rumathra almost fell down.
Trymacs has already reacted to the video and commented on his fall in the trailer (via YouTube). He said that in this mangrove jungle there is no ground, just rotten wood and moss on it. He didn’t even know there was such a place in the world.

7 vs. Wild will probably be a huge event – Starts on 29.11.
How is the trailer being commented on? The trailer has already received over 1.1 million views after just one day. The season will be available from 29.11. on YouTube. It seems clear already that it will be a big influencer event again.
In the comments, it is particularly emphasized how much people are looking forward to the 3rd season, how great it is that there is such a project, and that a lot of respect is felt for each participant.
On the Amazon streaming service, you can currently watch a really nasty horror movie for free, which is worth a recommendation by MeinMMO author Schuhmann. In ‘Oculus’, Karen Gillan, known as Nebula from the Marvel superhero films, faces an ancient adversary.
This is how Oculus begins: Oculus begins with a young man being released from the psychiatric hospital where he has spent half of his life. The doctor advises him to reach out to his sister, but his mental health comes first. Seems like a strange piece of advice, but the doctor knows what he’s saying.
Freshly released, the young man wants to start anew and distances himself from the past, which has brought him 10 years of therapy and psychiatry, but his resolute sister (Gillan) has other plans: She wants to prove to the world that her father was not a crazy murderer and for that, she needs her brother’s help.
He looks somewhat compassionately at his sister, who could have also benefited from 10 years of therapy to process everything they experienced as children. With his freshly gained psychotherapy knowledge, he explains to his sister what she misunderstands and misremembers.
But the experiment his sister plans will quickly put his newly gained clear view of the world to the test.

The German trailer for the horror movie Oculus
Familiar horror themes, but reimagined
What’s special about the film: Oculus, from 2013, is by Mike Flanagan: He is one of the most exciting horror directors of the last 10 years: The Canadian manages to take familiar horror themes and tell them realistically, but with a new twist. The way he does this is reminiscent of Stephen King: His latest work, the miniseries ‘The Fall of the House of Usher’, is expected soon on Netflix.
In the Netflix series ‘Black Mass’, he brought the vampire myth into the modern age, and in Oculus, he manages to do that with themes like ghosts, curses, and possession.
His characters act credibly and competently, but the other side also has many more tricks up its sleeve than it appears.
‘Oculus’ often feels like a chamber play, taking place only in limited locations and with a handful of characters, all excellently acted: Besides the determinedly performing Karen Gillan, known as Nebula, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) also leaves a lasting impression.
How can you watch the film for free? Oculus is available on the Amazon streaming service, the film runs for 99 minutes, and you can watch it here for free.
However, there is a catch: The film runs on Freevee, so you can expect short commercial breaks.
Freevee offers an exciting range of films, although there’s also a lot of junk, and random surfing can often result in quite third-class movies, but there are some real gems hidden in the offering of the free streaming service:
In the MOBA DOTA 2 (Steam), Valve has ensured that the prize money at the tournament “The International” is just a shadow of its former self. From $40 million (2021), the prize money is expected to fall to under $5 million. A YouTuber believes: This is intentional. Professional teams have annoyed Valve for too long and are now receiving a wake-up call.
This is the situation:
The tournament “The International” is considered the most lucrative e-sports tournament in gaming. Whoever wins it becomes an overnight millionaire. But the prize pools are shrinking: In 2021 there was still a prize pool of $40 million, in 2022 at least $18.8 million, but in 2023 it is expected to shrink drastically, with the prize pool likely landing below $5 million.
This is because the amount of the prize money depends on how much money comes from the sale of certain cosmetics. And in 2023, the offered cosmetics are much less attractive than in previous years. Therefore, Valve is now earning less money that is distributed to professionals through the tournament.
A YouTuber now says: The shrinking prize money is a kind of punishment from Valve to show professionals where they stand.
Was regarded as a milestone in DOTA 2 and could be the reason why there is less time for cosmetics:

Professionals have made too many demands – This is Valve’s response now
This is the YouTuber’s thesis: The YouTuber Janne “Gorc” Stefanovski believes that Valve is making a clear statement to the professionals:
Valve doesn’t do things halfway. I believe professionals have been annoying. They came with demands, wanting this and that. And Valve said: Oh, you know what? Let’s see how much money they [the fans] give you if we don’t pump cosmetics into the game. Let’s see how much they really care about pro teams. Would they buy a trash compendium – just for the pros?
Then Valve would have produced a weak compendium with mediocre prizes to prove that they were right: People didn’t buy the items for the pro scene. It was generous to leave professionals 25% of the revenue at all.
According to the YouTuber, this is a big “Fuck You”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CE-iEQI2pQ
What does Valve say? Valve’s explanation looks different: Here they say they have noticed that an extremely large amount of development time is spent creating the cosmetics that have caused the prize money to skyrocket.
They consciously decided to scale that back and invest more time and effort into improving the game.
Anyone who catches a shiny in Pokémon GO can consider themselves lucky, as the shiny specimens are rare. However, the shiny of one player is now overshadowed by his cat.
Which shiny was found? On Reddit, user Spare-Volume-6997 posted and explained that he caught the rarest shiny. In Pokémon GO, a shiny refers to the shimmering form of a monster, displayed in altered colors. The chances of encountering shinies are, aside from selected events, not particularly high. Therefore, one can be quite happy about these finds.
However, the user captured the snapshots of the Pokémon so brilliantly that the community cannot talk about anything else.
Shiny Kecleon steals the show in AR mode
What about the cat? To take pictures of his shiny Kecleon, Spare-Volume-6997 used the AR mode. Through Augmented Reality, the Pokémon from the game “merge” with the real world. Thus, Kecleon suddenly stood on a carpet in a house and joyfully opened its mouth. The highlight is at the feet of the Pokémon.
Cat “Milly” looks like she is copying the Pokémon. At the same time, she yawns and has her mouth wide open. We show you the pictures here:

This is how the community reacts: User DiscipleBom writes: “In the picture, it looks like your cat is reacting to Kecleon. Congratulations on the super rare find.”
Then the cat lover explains how these pictures came about: “Thank you. And yes, I took pictures of the Kecleon and then my cat came and sat right next to it and yawned exactly at the moment I clicked on Kecleon. Now it looks like they are yawning at the same time.”
Others write that it looks in the photo as if Kecleon is standing on the cat’s paw and thus she would be screaming. This took away much of the glory that Spare-Volume-6997 had probably intended for his shiny find, and gave it to his cat instead.
Due to so-called glitches, some Pokémon occasionally appear faulty. A broken Wablu caused a lot of buzz, as trainers wanted to keep this form forever.

Call of Duty Warzone receives a new map called “Urzikistan” that conveys Verdansk vibes. Additionally, two popular Resurgence maps will return in 2024.
What kind of new map is this? Warzone will receive a new map called Urzikistan after the release of Modern Warfare 3, which will be released as part of Season 1 in December 2023.
Urzikistan is supposed to be a metropolis in Western Asia adjacent to the Black Sea and stylistically reminiscent of a Russian city. The map also features 11 different districts and POIs (Points of Interest):
Urzikistan is also a city map characterized mainly by a variety of buildings, streets, and some waterways.
What are players saying about the new map? On social media, some CoD fans are already saying that Urzikistan conveys a Verdansk feeling.
Verdansk was the first map with which Warzone launched in 2020 and was very well received by players. Nevertheless, the map was gradually removed from the Warzone map pool and replaced by Caldera.
Overall, Urzikistan seems to be leaving a solid first impression on players:
“I love the Verdansk feeling with the classic CoD maps scattered here and there. This game could actually save the franchise (via YouTube).”
“Looks good! The POIs are much more densely built than all previous Warzone maps (via Reddit).”
“Looks much smaller than Al Mazrah? Which I think is a plus (via Reddit).”
“Looks good… better than Caldera/Almaz, has Verdansk vibes (via Reddit).”
“Finally a large map that isn’t a desert! I can’t wait to play it! It looks like it has a lot of verticality (via YouTube)!”
Whether Urzikistan really reminds one of Verdansk, you can see in the Map Overview Trailer:

Which maps are returning? To the delight of some Warzone fans, Activision announced that the maps Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will return in 2024 for the Resurgence mode in Warzone.
Rebirth Island is expected to return in early 2024
Fortune’s Keep is coming “later” in 2024
Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep are both relatively small maps, where the combat distance is shorter and the pace is faster than on the larger maps. Thus, together with Vondel and Ashika Island, the Resurgence map pool will grow to four maps over the course of the coming year.
How are players reacting to the return of the maps? While there are isolated players who criticize the “recycling” of old maps (via Reddit), many players are pleased about the return of the maps.
A post sharing the comeback of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep on Reddit gathered over 600 upvotes within a day (as of October 6). Especially Resurgence players seem to be looking forward to the maps:
“Honestly, the Resurgence rotation is going to be insane. Together with Ashika and Vondel, four maps will be available. A great time to be a Resurgence player (via Reddit).”
“That’s fantastic. Fortune’s Keep was amazing (via Reddit).”
“Rebirth Island is the best news I’ve heard (via Reddit)!”
Overall, though, it must be said that the mood in the CoD community remains divided. Some enjoy the Verdansk feeling of the new map and the return of the Resurgence maps, while others express sharp criticism.
Even before the “CoD Next” event on October 5 and the start of the open beta, there were isolated pros and streamers speaking of a successful return of the popular shooter series:
A former HR manager from Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2 and Marathon, has initiated legal action against the company. The plaintiff claims she was wrongfully terminated after reporting potential cases of discrimination within the company.
Why is Bungie being sued now? The controversy began after a former HR manager, who had worked at Bungie since May 2022, pointed out alleged racial bias within the company, as reported by IGN.
The HR manager was tasked with assessing the performance of an employee who was the only non-white employee in a 50-member team at Bungie.
When she spoke with the employee about his concerns, he reportedly informed her that he felt excluded and racially attacked by his supervisor.
She promptly shared this information, which was troubling for her, and strongly recommended that the supervisor of the employee in question undergo diversity training.
However, her recommendation was met with “hostility and rejection” and even led to her unjust termination. And that, she claims, for absurd reasons.
Select a MMO video…
Developers under pressure again with the lawsuit
Here’s why her proposal was rejected: The assessment of the experienced HR manager was not taken seriously by the Bungie staff. On the contrary, her supervisors were anything but pleased. So much so that this led to her involuntary termination.
The now former HR manager claims that her recommendations at the time were dismissed on the grounds that the individuals she suggested for diversity training were “veterans” and “highly regarded” employees.
Furthermore, it is alleged that Bungie even considered directly firing the affected employee instead.
This decision was vehemently contested by the now former HR manager. She sought additional advice from Dr. Courtney Benjamin, Bungie’s Director of Equity and Inclusion, who is responsible for ensuring equality for all employees.
However, this decision also did not sit well with her supervisors.
She claims that one of her supervisors became extremely angry with her for even reaching out to the Director of Equity and Inclusion.
Her supervisor even issued her a written warning via email and called Dr. Benjamin to apologize for her actions. He reportedly justified his actions by stating that “he didn’t want her to think he was a racist.“
After the incident, several other inexplicable things happened.
Suddenly and unexpectedly, the former HR manager was classified in the employee category “Needs Improvement.” And this, despite having previously received excellent evaluations from both colleagues and clients.
Her supervisor is also said to have advised her to look for an “exit,” which she interpreted as an invitation to leave her position.
Shortly thereafter, she had to find out that her email and Bungie platform access no longer worked, and her inquiries about this remained unanswered for several days.
At the end of September, she was informed that her resignation had been accepted. However, she emphasized that she had never intended to resign and wanted to keep her job.
For this reason, she also refused to sign a document from Bungie stating that she had “voluntarily resigned,” and noted that an email in which she explained her situation had gone unanswered.
The now-terminated HR manager is instead seeking recourse in a lawsuit against Bungie in the form of lost past and future wages, compensation for emotional distress, as well as her legal costs.
Bungie denies allegations of retaliation and wrongful termination
What does Bungie say about the allegations? This is not the first time Bungie employees have been noted for racist and sexist biases.
After an incident in December 2021, the company intended to prevent such situations in the future through changes in personnel management.
CEO Pete Parsons even announced a number of new initiatives at that time to “acknowledge shortcomings“.
As IGN reports, Bungie’s response to the complaint and lawsuit from its former HR manager does not contain an alternative account of the events. They only state that they “do not have sufficient knowledge or information to form an opinion as to the truth or falsity of the allegations.“
It is clear, however, that Bungie is again under pressure to ensure that their work environments are free from discrimination and prejudices.
When does the trial start? A jury trial is set for January 22, 2024.
What steps would you expect from game developers to ensure their work environment is inclusive and free from discrimination? And do you believe that players can also contribute to driving these changes? We would love to hear your thoughts on this topic in the comments.
