It is time: Wargaming.net has launched the hack ‘n slash Pagan Online. We take a look at how the game is currently being received on Steam.
What is Pagan Online? The action RPG resembles Diablo 3. You create a hero and battle through hordes of monsters in a world inspired by Slavic mythology. Along the way, you collect a lot of loot and improve your character.
Mixed Reviews
How is the release version received on Steam? The overall ratings are currently at 61%. For the past 30 days, the game has even only received 58%. However, it should be noted that the reviews from the early access phase are still included.
Upon release, Pagan Online received a very extensive update that not only addresses the points criticized by players but also introduces new content. So we must wait to see how the reviews develop in the coming days and weeks.
What do the players think? The reviews are still quite mixed even after release. Some players find Pagan Online quite good, while others have quite a few criticisms. These include server stability, bugs, and the unbalanced difficulty level.
[Ygg]Azarhiel writes on Steam: “Suddenly, there are enormous increases in difficulty mid-story without apparent reason. It still plays very slowly, and you don’t feel properly rewarded for the time spent.”
WITCH HUNT explains: “A game with great potential. I think it’s fantastic, and it still has the chance to grow further. Some characters really feel good.”

This is how the release version has already improved: At launch on August 27, Pagan Online received another major update that introduced a number of innovations and changes:
- New Content – The two new playable characters Hector and Eldan were added, along with additional bosses, items, maps, zones, and more
- 60-Hour Campaign – The campaign, inspired by Slavic myths and spanning eight acts, can now be completed
- Expanded Control Options – At many players’ requests, “Click-to-Move” control is now available in Pagan Online, and it supports gamepads
- Revised Systems – Item drops and recipes have been revised to offer greater variety. Additionally, the crafting system has been optimized
- New Skill Trees – You can now enhance your hero with new skill trees to create a more personalized build
