YouTuber Iron Pinapple attempted a pacifist run in Elden Ring. He originally just wanted to see how far he could go, but surprised himself by completing it without making any attacks. MeinMMO tells you how.
Iron Pineapple has become one of the biggest YouTubers around FromSoftware games in recent years. Especially the videos where he plays lesser-known “Souls-likes” are very popular.
For Elden Ring, he specialized in challenge runs and tip videos. His latest video is an incredibly exciting combination of both.
In his pacifist run, he uses the best weapons, strongest tricks, and best tactics in the game – but only to benefit his NPC helpers. He himself, with his terribly looking character with a mustache, was not allowed to deal any damage whatsoever. And he actually managed to do that.
Pacifist run shows how many strong tactics are in Elden Ring
What were the rules? This is how Iron Pineapple’s pacifist run went:
- His class was the Prophet for healing magic, which was particularly aimed at his helpers.
- As a keepsake he chose the ashes of the Vampire Ladies to have immediate access to NPC helpers.
- The golden rule for the run was that he may never deal a single point of damage himself.
- NPC helpers were allowed, but no multiplayer summons.
- Enemies that died from forced fall damage were “killed by gravity”.
- Teleport glitches were allowed as an exception.
- Not all bosses had to be killed, only the necessary ones.
With this extreme limitation of not being allowed to deal damage, Iron Pineapple had to delve deep into his bag of tricks. That he was still able to complete Elden Ring lies also in the many strong tactics he utilized flexibly.
He uses them cleverly and strategically to handle every situation in the game. While not everything goes smoothly, the video shows how you can overcome every hurdle in Elden Ring, even with the most unnecessary restrictions of your own play style.

How did the player succeed? Because he was not allowed to deal any damage himself, Iron Pineapple had to rely heavily on spirit summons. With the ashes of various NPCs, you can summon them as spirits in your world to fight for you. Depending on the boss, he called upon different helpers:
- Against the tough boss Margit, he used the first ash you can utilize in the game. The Vampire Ladies easily take care of the boss with their strong bleed damage.
- On the way to the capital, he relied on a dog that inflicted rot damage, slowly but surely finishing off the enemies.
- Later in the game, he also trusted the powerful Mimic Tear.
This impressively shows Iron Pineapple how many options you have in Elden Ring to cope with difficult situations. Even though the action RPG is known for its notorious high difficulty, the developers have packed an incredible amount of options and tools into the game.
With a little creativity, willingness to experiment, attentiveness, and patience, you can tackle the toughest opponents. The result can be a crazy Superman build, a crazy sniper tactic, or just a new build thanks to the respec function.
Ash summons were not the only successful strategy
What other tricks were used? Since you cannot use ashes everywhere in the game, he also had to rely on other tricks. You can replicate these if you are stuck in your non-pacifist run.
- He uses a variation of the strong Blood Build so that his Mimic Tear can make use of it. Non-pacifists also benefit from the meta weapons Uchigatana and Nagakiba that the YouTuber uses.
- He positions himself cleverly so that bosses like Radahn stumble to their deaths.
- The actually bad talisman Shabriris Woe is also used to draw attention to himself.
- Iron Pineapple also shows a strong trick that allows him to glitch into absolute endgame regions and thereby bypass difficult bosses like Niall.
Throughout the run, he also showcased strong farming routes. One of them was an early path to the endgame area Mohgwyn Palace thanks to Varré’s quest. However, he could not perform the farming trick with the half-dead dragon due to his self-imposed rules.
Despite success, not everything went smoothly in the run. He had significant troubles with Ranni’s quest. He wanted to get the powerful ash at the end of the quest – only to find out that he couldn’t complete the last step.
