The maker of bots for Overwatch and WoW has been sued in court for a payment of over 8.5 million US dollars to Blizzard.
We have reported several times about the Zwickau company Bossland. They produce bots like Honorbuddy, Stormbuddy, Hearthbuddy, and Watchover Tyrant. They specialize in Blizzard. Their products allow players in these games to “cheat” and “bot.”
This ranges from a program for Overwatch that provides a radar to programmed self-playing bots for WoW that automatically farm resources or even fight entire PvP matches on their own.

In the USA, a lawsuit against Bossland has now been concluded, which we reported on in mid-March. Bossland decided not to defend itself in the California court. Therefore, it was clear that Blizzard would have a good chance of achieving its goals. Blizzard succeeded with its demands. And that will be quite expensive.
US Ban on Bossland
According to Torrentfreak, the court has ruled that Bossland violated US copyright laws in 42,818 cases. As a penalty, $8,563,600 is due. Furthermore, Bossland is prohibited from selling or advertising its products in the United States of America.
As Torrentfreak further reports, the head of Bossland, Zwetan Letschew, had previously announced that Bossland would continue to fight the legal dispute, no matter how the verdict would turn out.

Meanwhile, PC Gamer writes that players from the UK can no longer purchase Bossland’s products. Since March 16, there has been a message that products must no longer be offered to people living in the United Kingdom. It seems that the site cannot even be accessed from the UK.
Also in Germany, a court ruling by the Federal Court of Justice from January has consequences. Thus, Bossland has closed the German-language sections of its forum. They have also announced that they will no longer advertise and offer their products in Germany.
It looks like the noose is slowly tightening for Bossland. However, it is known that Bossland has “partners” in the Asian region who sell their bots. Zwetan Letschew mentioned this in a comment on our site, Mein MMO.
We have already reported on the financial problems that the bot manufacturer has faced due to recent events:
