In Overwatch today the Winter Wonderland begins and brings many new skins. We will show you which new outfits you can earn.
With great strides we are heading towards Christmas and that also means the start of a seasonal event in Overwatch. The “Winter Wonderland 2019” is just around the corner and brings a series of new features that are meant to attract veterans back to Blizzard’s hero shooter. The highlights are, of course, the new skins for some heroes that are only available during this season.
The new Overwatch skins from Winter Wonderland 2019
Some skins were teased in advance and ultimately leaked because the French YouTube channel for Overwatch had released the trailer a bit too early. In the following images, you can see the new skins that are thus confirmed for Winter Wonderland 2019.
Overwatch is currently receiving very few updates – most developers are working on part 2.
What new skins are there? A total of 7 new skins have already been leaked or released. These include:
- Sigma receives a Frost skin. Visually, it resembles a mix of Arthas Menethil and the Lich King.
- Reaper takes on the role of the Rat King and thus receives quite a noble suit with a crown.
- Soldier: 76 apparently got a hand-knit sweater that might not quite match the tough guy he wants to be.
- Moira gets the red-green outfit of a Christmas elf, thus also a rather peaceful skin.
- Doomfist receives a “Yotun” skin that is reminiscent of the frost giants. His arm is frozen.
- McCree appears to be a bit grayed out and shows himself in much brighter clothing.
- Mercy dresses completely in blue, making her quite “frozen”, suspiciously reminiscent of a certain ice princess.
How do you get the skins? The skins will most likely be available primarily from loot boxes. However, it could also be that some skins can primarily be earned through challenges. These would then be weekly challenges where you have to win a certain number of matches.
When does the event start? The Winter Wonderland 2019 starts today, December 10, 2019. It will last for 3 weeks as usual, giving plenty of time to unlock all skins and complete some matches.
What do you think of the new skins? Which one will you get and which one is more of a failure? Let us know in the comments.
